Have fun ordering pizza here. The staff does not know how to manage orders and a timeline. Ordered pizzas and waited for over an hour, during that hour I watched the staff argue with each other with no ability problem solve. Run don't walk to another pizza joint. - Update Kirk the owner has come back with a fabricated story of how we were in the wrong and chalking it up as a bad customer instead of taking responsibility for having a poorly managed restaurant. Might serve you better to take accountability, hire a manager to help train your high school staff, and save your business from tanking. But I've got a strong feeling that's not in the cards. I've finally tried the toad house in Bremerton thinking it's not gonna be good .... OMG THE BEST PIZZA IVE HAD SINCE IVE BEEN HERE!!!!!! Deliciousness is an understatement.. the pizza sauce, the cheese and the sausage, AMAZING!!! I even had the garlic bread with all the fixings ( pineapple)!!! Who would have thought?!!! In the area for holiday and needed to find a place for our usual Friday night pizza. Toad House was a great find. We ordered two 10 inch pies, cheese with red sauce and basil pesto base with artichoke. Both were cooked as ordered. Crust was crispy and chewy, toppings were in good proportion. The pesto pizza could've used a bit more sauce, but was delicious nonetheless. Our waitress was sweet, professional and attentive. Service was swift. The atmosphere is moody but hip. Concrete floor and dark painted walls with steel and wood decor. And unlike many places in the area, Toad House is open past 7 on a Friday. (Seriously what is up with that?!) Then, when you arrive they act like they don't know what you're talking about when you say you are there for your order. Simple lines like "thanks for calling" or "absolutely, what can we get for you today?" is quite standard to implement for welcoming guests. If you're confused about their order don't show it, just say "let me look for your order & it will be right out as it's ready". A "yes, we can" attitude and a little more politeness will go a long way. read more

On a day trip to Bremerton (an excuse to ride the ferry) I discovered The Toad House thanks to Yelp. Great service and a huge beer selection. I had the Greek chicken pizza, hold the chicken to make it vegetarian and it was delicious. So often with pizza you'll too get too much of a topping. This was not the case at Toad House. If you find yourself in Bremerton, give it a shot! I forgot to add the fact that I saw a seasonal dill pickle pizza on the chalkboard AFTER ordering. The environment was really dark, it was only me and my plus 1 & we spent more time waiting on the waitress throughout the experience than anything, I'm a super picky eater so I always have questions (but I make sure to be polite and not a Karen because I know it can be frustrating) but at the first question the waitress already was getting irritated. This is truly one of the best pizza spots in Kitsap. This isn't just a boring slice of pepperoni pizza. This is creative, brick oven pizza. The menu has thought and passion behind it. Every time I come here I'm not disappointed in the least. I like to get the Salty Orchard Pizza, which is red sauce, ham, & mozzarella and then finished off with fresh apple slices, bleu cheese, & fresh basil and then topped with a honey drizzle. Look at that gigantic wall of beers! They're not fooling around here at all. They offer a huge variety of good beers in bottles, and quite a few on tap, too. It would be nice if they chilled the bottles, for sure, but it's not the end of the world that they don't. The tap lineup is pretty fantastic. The cheese bread here is tasty, and the pizzas are nice enough. They make the crust in house, and they cook the pies in a big oven with an open flame. It's a poured concrete oven, but that's still pretty cool. The crust gets a nice little blackening in spots. The toppings have good flavor, though they do use some odd choices with the cheese (think there was some cheddar in there?). Overall, they're not really doing anything amazing with the pies, but they're clearly made from scratch and with some love. I would eat them again. What really stands out here is the devotion to the beer list. They clearly make a big effort to please the beer lover. read more

We are new to the area, and were looking for a local pizza place that serves up gluten-free fare one Sunday afternoon. We called ahead to make sure they had an option for me, and were told they offer gluten free pizza. You can build your GF pizza anyway you like, and the crust is a premade 12" one. I ordered a chicken, feta, red onion pizza with BBQ sauce instead of marinara. Hubbs ordered their "Luau" pizza, which was red sauce, pineapple, olives, mozzarella, chicken, and bacon. Mine was really good--notice I didn't 't say "really good for gluten free pizza"---it was just really good. The crust tasted like a regular thin crust pizza, and the toppings were delicious. Hubbs said his wasn't a favorite, but it was still very good. I think if it had been closer to a true Hawaiian pizza (nix the chicken and bacon), he would have liked it better. We also ordered the kiddie pizza for our son, and got it with just the crust and the cheese, no sauce. Add in a couple of non-alc drinks, and we were stuffed by the time we left. So why the 3 stars? Well, for starters, we arrived on a Sunday afternoon right at lunch time. The place was empty. Literally. We were the ONLY folks in there--and it still took our food about 20 minutes to come out....after the initial 10 to be settled and get drinks and put in the order. I find that a bit much, but whatever, it wasn't unbearable. The waitress was very very attentive, and made sure we were set and enjoying the food once it did come. She almost sounded like she was the owner, I'm not entirely sure--but whoever she was, she definitely earned her tip. The bill came and my jaw dropped. $50--for three "small" pizzas. Really? Back home (in CT), you can get three LARGE pizzas for less than that! We visited again the following week on a Friday night at dinnertime. Like I said, the pizza was good, and we wanted to give it another shot, this time ordering less due to the prices. There were 2 other tables there when we came in, both were already given drinks and whatnot. One had their food, and one was waiting. We were seated, and it took about 10 minutes for us to even get a waitress over to ask what we wanted to drink. Really? We were sitting right in front of the main counter. Drinks are dropped off, I say "thank you", waitress says nothing and walks away. Okay....bit rude there, not gonna lie. Food comes, it's delicious again. I ordered the same, and hubbs split his pizza with the toddler. Bill was about $30 once it was all said and done. The service during this visit was so incredibly slow, that it was almost insulting. They weren't mobbed, they weren't even close to being "busy", in my opinion, and still we waited forever for our food. So here's the final verdict: If we ever NEED pizza (as in a serious craving that will not go away), we may order take-out from this place. Maybe. We'll at least think about it. But we won't ever come back to eat in, the service is just too slow to justify leaving a $6-10 tip. I'd rather save that money and just eat at home. The food, it's great. It's great that they offer gluten free options for folks like me, and it's great that it tastes like real pizza. The prices? Well, they suck. It's yummy, but it's NOT worth $50. In this economy, I wonder if the owners even realize just how big of a chunk that is in someone's food budget. Lower the prices, give your staff a good talking-to about promptness and politeness, and it would definitely be a place we'd return to time and time again. read more

When I smush all of my experiences at The Toad House into one overall rating it's three stars strong. I remember when The Toad House first opened their doors because I was immediately a fan. Always a five star experience and it was a much needed in this part of Silverdale. I grew up here and small independently owned restaurants really didn't exist. I asked everyone I knew to take me here when I was in town. Over time my experiences were less and less remarkable and the food quality decreased. Ingredients have been forgotten, flavors seemed off, but I chose to believe in the pizza! The crust is always good but also the service wasn't top notch. The last time I was in town we ordered takeout. I'm not entirely sure what went wrong but when my Aunt showed up after picking up the pizzas, our entire order was wrong. We called and apparently they had given us the wrong order. They offered to remake it and credit us but the idea of driving back out there was a bit of a bummer. I still believe in all things pizza and I love that this place is still in businesses - let's just go back to the beginning shall we? read more

looked around for a new taste of the town for me and the GF, and the Toad definitely hit the spot. My girlfriend came here one time and suggested the spot, said the pizza's were delicious, and I'm always up for trying new things/places. The location is a bit small. it could probably seat about 40 or so people, so go when its not busy since the "wood stove" oven looks like it fits 2 15" pizzas at a time. It took about 15-20min to get our pizza, but it was well worth the wait. We ordered the Cheezy-D, and if i had come there on an empty stomach, i would have devoured what we had left over. It was GREAT. The prices almost seem not worth it, but if you want quality pizza, this is the place worth paying the price for. One really cool aspect: the list of beers. AMAZING. I wish I had come there with the idea of enjoying some new brews but my wallet wasn't in the mood at the time. they have a long list of beers to taste from which would keep you occupied as you wait for your pizza to arrive. the wait service was okay. it wasnt the best, but it wasnt bad. no need to elaborate on it. First - The Beer: Their selection is awesome. The list with additional info on the menu is a great plus as well. Any place I can get a Delirium Tremens gets extra points in my book. Second - The food: Everything I've had here has been very tasty. Nothing has fallen short of expectations, and most everything has exceeded them. I've never had bad service here as mentioned by other reviewers. Sometimes the food does take a bit longer than expected, but when I went in with my wife last night, the waitress was very nice, helpful, and prompt.
