My sister, brother-in-law and I came in for a late breakfast. We were greeted and seated promptly, and our waiter Jose came by just moments after. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the place was bright and clean with ample seating on a Friday morning. There are a lot of "fancy" items on the menu, but I was hankering more for a standard diner fare. Fortunately, after getting through all the fancy items, I was able to find a two-egg breakfast, which came with a biscuit and bacon (or other meat). I could also get a side of grits or hash browns, but Jose said I could also get oatmeal on the side if I preferred, which I did. It wasn't listed on the menu, but it was nice of him to point it out. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was well cooked but not crispy (thankfully!), oatmeal tasty with some brown sugar on top, and the biscuit was quite tasty (especially with some butter on it!). My sister got the Wheatwich breakfast sandwich, which she enjoyed. My brother-in-law got the place's namesake, the Toasted Yolk. He said it was all right, but not as good as the last time he had been there. They both complained about the coffee; they felt it was "old." read more

The food was just ok, the eggs were rubbery. My water came out with a bug in it so I had to get my own water from my car because I didn't trust them replacing it. We ordered pancakes for my daughter with no butter, it came with butter, and we were sat by the hostess stand where they were talking loudly about inappropriate stories that shouldn't be discussed while working- including cussing and talking about throwing up. Last Post: Tried this place for brunch with family and friend in town for wedding. We have a large group and was concerned about service but the waitstaff was very attentive and we got our food orders in timely manner. I ordered the shrimp & grits which is one of my favorite meals. It was tasty but spicy so beware if you don't like hot food. Some of the other food ordered in my group order the chicken/waffles and Benedict's, Ruben sandwich with fries and everyone commented how good the food was. This one of my go-to places to have brunch with friends in the area. Food always good and consistent although prices are little higher than average but on par for quality. Almost forgot to mention my favorite coffee appetizer is the cinnamon donuts and they are so delicious and melt in your mouth. I came here for breakfast on Labor Day and it was busy and that was expected but we were seated quickly and our server came over in a rush and said " happy Labor Day, and I have to be here serving you" which I understood like it's Labor Day and you should get the day off too but you're in the service industry so you should understand that some holidays you have to work. Well the food was good and the service was ok, I mean it was fast. This isn't the best breakfast spot but for it being a chain it's pretty good. Wish there was a way to give a negative star rating! Terrible food - terrible service. Ordered a mushroom omelette and the mushrooms were obviously off!!! Ordered crispy bacon and it came close to raw. Never got our toast. We asked to speak to the manager, who did take the mushroom omelette our bill. It was still over $20 for a horrible experience. My wife and I were hungry and ready for a great breakfast. This did not happen though. My wife ordered an omelette and the mushrooms were sour. We eat a lot of mushrooms and these were bad taste and texture. These were beyond "not fresh ", these were spoiled. The omelette was inedible. She never got her GF toast. I had to ask for sugar, salt/pepper, etc. That did eventually arrive. I ordered extra crispy bacon and it was limp and practically raw on the bottom side. We told the waiter, about these issues plus asked for a refill on coffee and tea. At that point we were abandoned. The waiter never returned with coffee, tea, toast, or bacon. We went inside and asked for the manager. He hurriedly listened and offered to comp the omelette since it was inedible. He gave me a small discount on the bacon not being right. He never asked if he could get us food cooked correctly. He just planned on getting us out of there and brought our drink refills to go. He brought the check and I was ready to pay with card in hand. He dashed off and it was a long delay before we ever saw our waiter. He finally took the payment and when he brought it back said we could leave the ticket on the table. We left and noted that we had patiently waited and total time for this breakfast was 1 hour and 50 minutes. We arrived at 9:20am on 10/28/2025. Not a busy time on a Tuesday morning. There were plenty of tables available. We were the only guests sitting outside. The cheese grits were good. Everything else was mediocre. I love the convenience , but am not willing to go back to this location again. They seem to be struggling on so many levels and since they are not the only breakfast option around, I won't be back. read more

Toasted Yolk is so delicious. This Fulshear location is newer and little quieter than other Katy/West locations. The staff is super nice and friendly. In fact, I would say bordering on over-attentive. I appreciate the specialty cocktails, mocktails, and specialty coffee drink menu...But I do think they need just a basic iced coffee that offers free refills just like a hot coffee. (I spent over $7 just on my beverages.) My go to entrée is their house specialty, The Toasted Yolk. Reminds me of one of my favorite childhood breakfasts, "egg in a frame". However I do make a point to try different things. Their assorted Arnold's are delicious and the portions are large. Though points are taken away bc the poached egg is prefab. Of course I'll be back. Service at this location has always been slower than others but has hit a new low recently. Drove 5 min to Maple Biscuit and would highly recommend instead. We have visited the Toasted Yolk on FM 1093 several times. The food is delicious and past service was excellent. Today was something else! The person at the door was dirty. (Manager?) We waited after being told we wouldn't have a wait. All the orders, for 6, were wrong or incomplete. All were served cold. We thought maybe the waiter was hard of hearing, and it was REALLY noisy. Mostly due to a worker LOUDLY mopping and smacking the bucket on the floor. (Did you notice that, manager?) But come to see, the waiter was wearing an earbud. LOL! (Where's that manager?) And lastly, we had occasion to see the kitchen. There was water and food all over the floor. (Okay, manager, you MUST be aware.) All of this is easily fixed with training and a vigilant manager. read more

We came here for brunch on a Thursday and due to the uncleanliness we probably won't be back. The cups look like they were just rinsed without being thoroughly washed. Dried dirt residue on both of our glasses and utensils. The utensil napkins were also clearly used and reused. Not fresh and clean at all. Old food marks were left on them. Lastly, the hygiene of our server was not up to par for a restaurant establishment serving food. He looked like he just rolled out of bed and arrived to work. Shirt so filthy from personal hygiene(like body fluid stains, white marks, etc) not from food stains. Over all the cleanliness experience was a 0 out of 10. If it we had more time during our lunch break to leave and go elsewhere, we would have. Also overheard staff member say the place is under new management. Maybe that explains why it appears anyone can get hired and serve food here. We will definitely have to try other locations if we decide to eat from this restaurant again. read more

Came to eat on a Sunday at noon. The hostess seemed nice enough but literally whispered and couldn't hear her speak. There was no wait to sit, but we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The waiter was dry and would speak to us as he was walking by the table or walking away so didn't hear he was saying half the time. I got a coffee and it might as well have been a cup of milk. Really enjoyed this location like every other restaurant there is a wait time but you can call ahead and get on the list. Our wait was pretty short despite the place being really busy. Our server Felicia was super friendly and very attentive. The food tasted amazing we were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed thier dish. There was plenty of seating available and they did have an outdoor seating area if thats more your style. Overall the experience was top notch a manager came and checked on us to make sure everything was good that was nice. I'll definitely be coming back to this location in the near future. A friend in our groups food didn't come till everyone at the table had already completed their food, even tho we all ordered at the same time. The check came and her food was not comped for the inconvenience. I ordered a yogurt parfait which is listed at $5.99 on the menu, however in the check I was charged $9.99. Our server Simone was very cute and friendly. She met all of our requests with a fine and friendly response. After perusing the menu which is amazing as they have all things eggs- hence the name. We each ordered something different. I wanted to try their brisket so I ordered the Brisket Tacos which come with a variety of sides: (Hashbrown casserole)cheesy potatoes, grits, roasted potatoes or fruit. I opted for the fruit. The Brisket was very flavorful, smoked and generous chunks of meat. We also ordered a side of grits as our daughter wanted to try them, they were creamy and delicious. She also ordered the Alaskan Arnold benedict with salmon. My husband ordered the Cowboy Scramble-two biscuits with sausage and gravy. Both reported their meals were delicious. We added a flavorful caramel macchiato and latte with hazelnut. One of the owners, Pat, stopped by our table to ask how our meal was. He is very personable and takes great pride in his restaurant, and speaks highly of his employees. Our only regret is we live too far away to come sample the fare again anytime soon. But as I was about to get a refill on my coffee I noticed the mug had a dark brown slime in it. I rubbed it with my finger and it was slime. I told the waitress but that was useless.
