Baldus Real Estate is backed by its history and connection to Charles County. The Baldus family has spent years building this business and is the most personable and successful Real Estate Brokerages in the area. John Hale certainly does not do their business any justice however any other agent at Baldus is fantastic! Especially Bonnie Baldus Grier who sells more houses close to asking than any other agent in the area. Why in the world would you go to Century 21 or a major firm similar to it when Baldus Real Estate has the same connections and more concierge feel. Trust me when I say as a friend, employee, and admirer of the Baldus family business is the best Real Estate firm by far in Southern Maryland. The "One Star" review written should be a reflection of John Hale individually, not Baldus Real Estate Inc. as a whole.

A week before we were going to move across the country we fund out he has been sitting around and hasn't done anything for us. We were forced last minute to settle on a different home because we had no choice. He was rude and non committal. Several times we had to call listing agents to get information or photos because John would wait two or three days to respond. Stay away!!!

I became connected to Shanika through a recommendation to use Harrison and Coalition Properties from a friend. Shanika is knowledgeable about neighborhoods, real estate trends, and very well connected. Not to mention, has a confident ease and very personable. You can see that Shanika wants you to find your home, more than just make a sale. Early on, I said I was willing to look and live all over DC, but really wanted to stay in NW, love natural light, wanted a 2bd condo and near "things". (I don't have a car). Shanika listened to me, watched carefully when we went to see condos, started to underhand my likes and dislikes, and never made me feel silly with all my questions and lack of knowledge. We communicated regularly via text/phone and using a particular app, she was able to see they types of places I was interested in. I saw a condo that was going on the market in a few days, we saw it before it went live... and the rest is history. The Coalition Properties Team hand held me( literally) through the entire process. I was also getting EHAP/HPAP monies making it a bit more difficult. They were on it. I was so impressed and thankful. I also love that they work with and support many black owned businesses and contacts. (Shoutout to Tracey on the closing team at coalition, Kendall my lender, and Sheldon the inspector!) We needed him to sell our home during a time when the markets were changing, selling season was starting, and so many within the community were losing their jobs because of government RIFs. THEN, we increased the pressure to seemingly an almost impossible task. We found our new dream home and put a contingency offer on it. We needed our current home sold within 30 days under the difficult market conditions. Frank answered all of our questions, worked with us on all our concerns, walked us through every step. I am sure we overworked him, but he was always there with a smile and reassurance. He sold our house (actually had multiple buyers) within our deadline. Now we are happily moved and I am still so grateful to Frank and his team. We have had previous realtors and new multiple people who sold houses, but we went with Frank, because he matched our energy and dedication to every detail. Trust Frank, choose Frank.

    This review has been written 6 months after our deposit was partially returned--still waiting…read more 1) Mrs Huseman will charm you in the beginning and then drop off the planet to leave her son, Mr Huseman to handle all aspects of the business but is usually in landlord court. You will be stuck with their secretary. 2) All communication will be done via email. Good luck with a phone call. Keep all emails, they might be useful. Almost all maintenance requests will be denied. 3) We were charged in excess of $300 to have repairs done to paint throughout the house we rented. We submitted a cd with pictures of the house, a letter specially regarding the condition of the house and that we would not pay for paint damage and our move in checklist. All were disregarded in terms of the paint. 4) We were not afforded a final walkthrough, which is 100% illegal according to the Maryland Code and they forfeit any and all portions of our deposit even if we trashed the place. They claimed that because we moved out of state there couldn't be one. They still have to offer. We can't go to small claims because we are in another state. Gotcha! 5) Request, rather demand a copy of the lease ahead of time. It's shady. Unless you absolutely need a place, look for another property management company. 6) Filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and they refused to answer claiming they just got the notice. I've had to call and notify them to pick up certified letters because they sat in their PO Box for several days. 7) These people are crooks and operate at their own discretion. I could literally go on and on and we lived there less than 2 years.
