    Cafe Mozzarella Sandwich with prosciutto

Food was good. Prosciutto tasted fresh. The French fries were super crunchy and delicious. Plenty of searing. Service was attentive and fast.

Very friendly staff and very attentive as well, keep up with taking plates and helping with questions on the menu. This place does have half portion options which great if you're hungry but don't need a full meal or want to feel bloated afterwards. Tomato soup was definitely the best I ever had, so savory and well seasoned, appreciate that it was very mellow in acidity. Glad the places named for tomatoes did it well. For the linguini pomodoro, I was bit mixed, loved the pomodoro sauce, but I think the dish would better with different type of pasta, since linguini is better for seafood or cream sauces. Meatballs I had added were pretty large, meaty and plenty of flavor, wish you got three instead of two. For what worth I liked the place, and rusty look of place, like dipped floor and the place look like I had probation vibe.

Food is fresh and consistent every time. Staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is my favorite part of it all. Whether you want a booth or table inside. Or that nice nook by the window is my favorite. I sat outside under the beautiful umbrellas lit by string lights. Watching the busy life drive by. I've never sat out back in the patio. I'll have to do that next time. Great menu, many choices. Very accommodating.

    BLT and tomato soup

First time we'd been, and overall we liked it. My partner had the eggs benedict, and really enjoyed it. I got a BLT with a cup of tomato soup. The sandwich was excellent; the tomato soup kind of tasted like pizza sauce as a soup (which, if that's your thing, you'd really like it!) For me, it had a little too much oregano and possibly some pureed bell peppers in it? I could be wrong, but there was some taste that sort of overpowered the tomato taste. Going on a Sunday morning for brunch, it was pretty crowded -- we'd definitely like to try it for dinner another time. Our server was very nice, as were the other folks we encountered who worked there.

Stopped in for lunch today. A lot to choose from on the menu. We just had a pizza but it was delicious. Fresh ingredients. Crispy crust the way I like it. Friendly service and it was pretty quick. I'd recommend The Tomato Cafe and will be back.

Chicken Cafe Parm Dinner - half portion
    Julia K.

Very nice place for a casual lunch or dinner. Friendly & quick service, and a menu with lots of diverse choices. Ordered the chicken parm as half portion, but it was still too much for me to finish. Make sure to order it with home made pasta though, as that's not included in geh regular dish. Also had a tomato juice which I felt was a bit watery.

    Chicken mushroom wedge

First time ordering takeout lunch for a client. Had a chicken and mushroom wedge with fries. Mushrooms were fresh halved mushrooms and chicken was grilled. The chicken was sliced/chopped again, the same as my eggplant in another sandwich from a different restaurant. Must be a regional thing where the fillings are not served whole, which I prefer. Fries were fresh. A bit on the salty side as I think they are brined before frying. Pizzas looked great. Looking forward to going back!

The food is always consistently good here. I like to go here for lunch. I ordered the turkey Reuben with sweet potato fries. My son ordered the grilled cheese. My husband ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Overall my husbands was the best but we all enjoyed our food and it was good priced. The waitress was also very friendly. We sat outside and it was very peaceful and the wood and brick walls out there were lovely. It was a perfect lunch to a perfect day.

    Pesto penne with chicken

Super cute restaurant, nice staff, decent food. Not the best food around but a nice quaint place to eat. The drunken pasta was great, burger was decent, definitely good pesto (can taste the pine nuts), cheese steak was decent and the last pasta was a little dry. However, I WOULD try this place again!

THE TOMATO CAFE - Fishkill, NY I've been waiting to eat at this establishment. In the past I ended up going to the Greek restaurant and the German restaurant that are literally a few walking feet away on the same side of the block, mostly because the Tomatoe Cafe closes at 3pm on sundays. But, arrive in time as it is worth going for lunch!!!! The menu was WONDERFUL! Many delicious choices with options that are vegetarian friendly! Most importantly, the food is delicious and FRESH! First off, beverages were ordered. As usual my sweetheart ordered green tea with lemon and honey. I ordered coffee with half and half and Splenda. The coffee was watery. ( I guess I prefer strong coffee and will select a different option next time. The wait staff/ waiters and staff whip around the place with energy and enthusiasm! The young man that welcomed us at the front door was so friendly and welcoming! It was very very nice to receive such a warm welcome. The front counter display is wonderfully full of desserts, pecan crusted honey buns, cream cheese iced carrot cake, cheesecake and more. What an amazing sight. I knew I wanted dessert just from seeing that case! At the counter is a also container of m&m's for visitors to take a scoop when at the counter. How awesome is that! I could see all of this from where our table was. (See pic) The tables and atmosphere overall is country kitchen meets picnic table church pews. It is country cozy. I kinda was transported to my "Big mom" (grandmother) kitchen nook. Sunday the place closes at 3pm and people came in up until that time, with one group coming in after 3pm but were turned away. The food is freshly prepared so I do understand. People, arrive before 3pm!!! So the food... I ordered grilled cheese on wheat sourdough with salad, and my sweetheart ordered cheesesteak sandwich and fries. I had wanted the quesadillas on the special but it was sold out. The crispy fries that came with my sweethearts meal were so good I almost ordered my own because they were super delicious! The side salad of fresh greens was very fresh!! And the croutons were homemade with rye bread. I so LOVED the grill cheese sandwich. I selected wheat sourdough and it was scrumptious! This bread is extraordinary. So overall, food=9.5, atmosphere 7.5, beverages 6.5, service greeted enthusiastically so greet gets a 10, and waiter was attentive but with one part snarky so he gets an 8. Food arrived on a timely manner which was awesome. Although my first choice of Barria quesadillas was sold out , my second choice was very good. I recommend and will go back for more grilled cheese sandwiches and to try other options also. Oh yes, the food is moderately priced and affordable. This place is great! Thank you to the tomato cafe for a great affordable and fresh meal!

    Bruschetta of the day
    Yvonne W.

Great place with plenty of space for family with kids. Love the taste of their pizza dough! It's yummy itself eating the dough so whatever else you put in their would add to the combo. Bruschetta of the day was good but didn't like the salads. I just didn't think salad goes well with the bruschetta. Anyways lovely place great service :) minus one star - wish they could tell us we could park behind the restaurant and there was a direct entrance to the restaurant from the back.

Beautiful night out in Hudson Valley and parked right in front. Beautiful looking restaurant with one person eating at the bar and four tables eating inside. The menu looks solid. Both of them actually because FtT has a seasonal menu AND a full length daily menu (that's a lot of food and skill...think they can pull it off?). Once we put in orders, and inform our server it's a birthday celebration. Every further interaction with my server starts with "I'm sorry but..." - drinks come out two by two and one by one because the bartender is busy - apps come out an HOUR later (this place is half dead) because "the kitchen never got it" - the first bottle of wine I order is unavailable. As is the second. The third bottle of nice white wine comes out along with a glass of ice (??) because the bottle was never refrigerated and, I guess we are supposed to put ice cubes in our wine?? "I'm sorry but no one put wine in the refrigerator." I tell her to bring me what they have that is cold and I'll pick... - the entrees come out and you know you have chosen poorly. The lobster roll was almost frozen lobster on a soggy piece of Wonder bread, both people who got muscles got four deep, spit half of them out and were advised by us NOT TO EAT anymore. That nuked the seafood soup which had a funny smell after a few bites. My lump crab pasta had a pound of cheese on the top rendering all crab into globs of parm. - after inspecting the table not pleased and kind of picking at their food or not eating it at all, our waitress apologizes yet again...and gives me the full check. - no dessert here, or complimentary dessert (not offered), we all basically escaped...and $500 lighter

Our waitress, Hope, was very sweet and took our order promptly. After waiting about 30 minutes, we asked about our order. Hope explained that a bus had arrived and that the kitchen had been overwhelmed. We hadn't seen a bus or an unusually large number of customers, but she kindly offered us some biscuits while we waited. The biscuits were delicious, although we hadn't wanted to fill up on bread before our meal. When our food finally arrived, my companion's meatloaf was cold, so he had to send it back to be reheated. I had ordered French toast, but pancakes arrived instead. Hope checked her order pad, confirmed that I had indeed ordered French toast, and offered to take the pancakes back. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. Within about two minutes, she returned with what was supposed to be French toast. It looked like slices of bread that had been hastily dipped in egg and barely cooked. The slices were white rather than the golden-brown color you would expect from properly prepared French toast. I tried a piece, and it essentially tasted like bread. It was so undercooked that I called it "raw French toast." When Hope came back to check on us, I told her that the French toast was inedible. Her response was simply to ask if we wanted the check. When we went to pay our tab, the cashier asked if we had been happy with our meal. I took the opportunity to say no, and she called over the manager. I briefly explained my disappointment and the manager promptly offered to remove the cost of my meal from the bill. That was satisfactory but I didn't get the feeling that she was going to talk to the cook about the fact that such horrible food should never have left the kitchen to begin with. Was she going to try to improve the service for the next customer? I understand that restaurants can get busy, and I appreciated Hope's pleasant attitude but waiting roughly 30 minutes for our food, receiving cold meatloaf, and then being served essentially uncooked French toast is not an acceptable dining experience. What was especially disappointing was that there didn't seem to be any real attempt to correct the problem once I explained that my meal was inedible. I left hungry and disappointed and probably won't eat French toast again for the rest of my life!
