A true cobbler! Don't judge the workshop by all the clutter. I have been going here for years. He does a great job repairing my dress shoes and does a really amazing job polishing the shoes. My last visit had him reattach a heel that came off my sole and to polish the shoes. It was ready in days and only cost $15. I think this place only takes cash. read more

I had a moment of panic when I realized that the elastic piece at the heel of my slingback sandals was preparing to snap. I have a hard enough time finding footwear that fits my smaller feet in the first place, so I definitely wasn't prepared to throw away a pair of sandals that I'd barely owned for a couple of years. I'm sure the folks at David's Shoe Repair in Andover are fantastic and all, but when I called up asking how much a repair like this would cost, he quoted me $30! I shopped around a bit, and the gentleman at The Town Cobbler was...pretty amused with that quote and told me a repair like that would cost no more than $6 easily. Two days later and my sandal was as good as new and the elastic he replaced it with was stronger than the original elastic! From now on, I won't trust anyone else with my shoes. I brought in 3 pairs of shoes, and each more than exceeded my expectations. Tory Burch flats - I had a pair of gold flats that I had worn so much, the heel part was non-existent and the soles were almost gone. He was able to make an entire new sole for less that $20!! The kicker is that the new sole he created is more comfy than the originals! Marc Jacobs heels - The sole was detaching from the shoe. He was able reattach and replace the heel caps. Tall leather boots - These leather boots had seen better days. Salt, snow, rain, you name it... After a little elbow grease, they look brand new! All these repairs were ready for pick up in a few days. Only thing to note is that he's cash only. read more

Made a visit on Saturday with coral sandals that were starting to peel at the toes. The lazy in me would have just bought another pair, but I haven't come across anything similiar this season. I am surprised that repairing shoes in this day and age still exist and was thrilled they I do. I stopped by Town Cobbler. However the sign-in the window said closed for 2 weeks. I have a pair of clogs that need repairing. I also have a pair of boots that are 20 years old and are a mess. I just cannot part with them and would like to see if the cobbler can do ANYTHING to help them look less worm. They are in bad shape however the guys in the garage next store said he can do any and everything. I hope he can do a little mprovement to them. But I am pretty sure they are too far gone. He returns from Italy on October 16th and I will certainly be there. I doubt I would have bothered but after reading all the positive reviews I am gonna give it a try when he returns read more

Because I'm in a profession that requires it, I buy mostly higher end shoes. If you wish to get substandard work done then this is a cobbler you should definitely visit. I have very fine Italian shoes. Over time the heel and sole were worn out. I had specifically requested him to replace them with equivalent material and not compromise on quality. I was willing to pay extra money to ensure I get top quality material. He did a very substandard job and used lower grade materials. Either he does not have the right skills or does not have understanding in repairing good quality shoes. read more

Tom educated me replacing my work boot soles this past fall! I had a pair of work boots that needed resoling and Tom explained to me in a very nice way that I'd be wasting my money on resoling them because the boots just weren't the type that you could resole.
