Catfish Reuben and Fried Green Tomatoes
    Quinton F.

Been a long time since I'd eaten at The Trace Grill so I gave it a shot today for lunch. It was about 11:30am so the place was packed already, and three order lines with a drink machine in the middle made for quite a traffic jam. I ordered a catfish reuben? with the fried green tomatoes. The servers carry your order around the entire restaurant calling out your name until you happen to hear them, by which time the food's cool after the tour. At least the staff were friendly and the food tasty, especially those tomatoes. The reuben was odd, but not unpleasant, so I should probably stick to corned beef.

Atmosphere was perfect, service was perfect, tea was perfect and the food was perfect. You wouldn't go wrong stopping here to eat.

Cozy spot tucked away alongside a business strip. My mom wanted to come for lunch as she enjoyed her first experience. Inside you place your order and pay at the register. Then you self serve your drinks and choose your seats. I got their blue plate special of the fried catfish with the turnip greens, mac & cheese, & creamed corn. The place reminds me of Ajax in Oxford. But the taste didn't compare. The mac & cheese wasn't as cheesy as I would have liked it to be. The fish was fine but I would've preferred it fried hard. The turnip greens were ok. Tasted it fine with the hot sauce. I am glad they added the cornbread to it but I didn't like the salty taste of it. Great customer service. I just wish the servers wore gloves.

Shrimp platter had seven shrimp and was $19.24. Food was good but disappointing to get so little for almost twenty bucks.

9/10/24-Receipt #0133: Ordered to go Blue plate hamburger, steak, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, and fried green tomatoes. Heard many good things about this meal and restaurant. I was highly disappointed the hamburger steak was overcooked blacken in some spaces with holes in other and just dry, the greens taste like they had a pound of sugar in them and overdone mushy, fried green tomatoes undercooked and had enough batter that you could've made pancakes, Mac and cheese very dry and uneatable. It was a terrible meal I've been sick and I went there to get me something to eat, and I could hardly eat anything on that plate highly disappointed. I want my money back. Country fried steak sandwich ran through me like water. Tell your cooks to wash their hands after scratching their ***. Will be some time before I have the guts (literally) to roll the dice in this place.

Food was good but not great. It was delivered promptly and the price was reasonable. It is good for a quick lunch, but not memorable. Happy

We had heard of Georgia Blue & staying in the hotel across the street was thee perfect excuse. Husband ordered the Seafood Linguine & I had the Pot Roast Poboy. Although the crawfish tasted like the ocean air on a blustery day - the meal itself, he devoured. Let's talk Pot Roast. The picture literally made my mouth water. I have a dental issues so I ordered the Onions, Mushrooms & Gravy OTS. (My side was Mac&Cheese.) Well, I had to call the store bc neither the gravy OR the Mac&cheese made it to our hotel. Of course I sent hubby back for the gravy but by the time I realized the Mac&cheese was missing, hubby was already eating. I opted to just call to make them aware of the missing order items. According to the manager in the phone Mac&Cheese wasn't even on the ticket yet it's printed AND CHARGED on our receipt. I decided to just try & enjoy the meal. 4 bites. FOUR. The roast was SOOOOO salty. I thought it was the gravy so I kept the sandwich for later and tried to eat it NOT THE GRAVY. It wasn't the gravy at all. I had hubby try it and he spit out the 1st bite. The salt was overpowering. Unbelievably overpowering. Our bill was $55 ish & it was the worst meal we have had here in Mississippi. The 2 star was specifically for the linguine. Besides the crawfish- perfection.

Just like yesterday's redfish, this one was different but absolutely fantastic. A wide variety of lunch options, as well as some daily lunch specials made the choice what to eat a tough one. Leaning towards what they're known for, redfish, I gave this place a try as well. This was a thick piece of redfish which included lump crab on top with a cream sauce, smothered all over it. The meal included garlic mashed potatoes, as well as string green beans. The green beans weren't super plentiful, but they were good. The mashed potatoes were a little on the cool temperature side, but they were also very good. You don't get much lump crab, but that too was good. One of the folks got a sandwich with their special chips. I had to try the chips, must say they were excellent. The server for as busy as she was, was terrific.

There are lots of windows and it's quite comfortable. Our server was great. So good in fact, I have no recollection of them or the service. That's strange. Nothing. I can't even remember if they were male or female?!?!? I do however remember my food. We started with crab claws. They were darn tasty. Nice lemon flavor to the batter and the sauces were great accompaniments. Would recommend! For dinner I chose the Prime Chile Rubbed Flank Steak. Gosh damn was it good! Perfectly cooked, seared well, and still medium rare inside! The sauce was fantastic as well and the fresh cut Parmesan fries were a stupendous addition to the dish! I loved the whole damn thing!!! The spinach was quite unique and very good. It was like crispy sautéed of something. I must have made some noises that my dinner companion had to know about because he ate a couple slices of my steak after I was done. Right when you walk in, I knew it was going to be overstimulating. It is LOUD. And not just volume wise. Everything is loud. The walls are covered in football wallpaper, then signed pictures on top of that. Then tv's. Then speakers. Don't get me wrong, some people love that vibe. I just wasn't prepared for that walking into a BBQ place. Secondly, the menu is freaking massive. You stand up front to order, which reminds me of popeyes or arbys, etc. We stood there gaping for a good five minutes just trying to read ALL of the menu. I was thrown off from it because I would rather there be 14 items on the menu and you make sure those 14 items are fresh, hot, cooked perfectly every single time for consistency, rather than there be 44 items and it's just a luck of the draw whether you're going to have a hot or cold meal. I ordered a loaded potato, because yeah, overstimulated. So much at once and my mind just went *nope* so I got a loaded baked potato and their side of the day which was sweet potato casserole. Husband ordered two chili cheese coneys and fries. I told ya, it's alot at once. Both meals were hot, thankfully. Do I think it was $42 worth of lunch? not in the slightest. BUT I wanted (and will try again) to give it a shot. I just feel like its average. There are definitely room for improvements. Overall, worth a shot.

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.
