Incredible hotel! The staff! Valet! I went to the restaurant on the top of the trade, Il Cervo, so good!

Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Do Not Recommend I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish, and the hotel showed very little concern for accommodating its guests. We booked a room as part of a wedding room block back in February 2026 for a wedding we were attending on August 8. I originally reserved the room for two people and specifically requested two queen beds, as my son, who owns a business, was unsure whether he would be able to attend due to this being an especially busy time of year for him. As soon as I learned that my son would be able to attend, I contacted the hotel to confirm that adding a third adult to the reservation would not change the price. I was told that it would not. Based on that conversation, we fully expected to arrive and have the two-queen-bed room we had reserved months earlier. Instead, upon arrival, we were told that the hotel had the right to change our reservation and that they could provide us with a king-bed room for three adults. The staff, including the manager, made no meaningful effort to find a reasonable solution. Their suggestions were that my adult son sleep upright in a chair or on the floor. This was completely unacceptable. After traveling to Milwaukee for a wedding and making our reservation six months in advance, we were left without suitable accommodations and ultimately had to leave the wedding early and make a 1 1/2-hour drive home because there were no other available rooms in the Milwaukee area. What made this experience even more frustrating was the hotel's attitude. Rather than taking responsibility or trying to find a solution, they relied on what they described as "house rules" to justify changing the accommodations we had reserved. A hotel should honor reservations, communicate clearly with its guests, and make a genuine effort to resolve problems when they arise. Unfortunately, none of that happened here. This was an absolutely horrendous experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Milwaukee area. Save yourself the frustration and stay somewhere else. read more

Stayed at The Trade for a work trip. What a charming find! Located in the downtown area. The location is so great! The hotel has a rooftop bar, live music/dining on the second floor, and another restaurant on the first floor. The Trade is a Marriott autograph collection hotel. The attention to detail is off the chain! The front desk staff was so friendly. Check in was easy. I was given an overview of the hotel including amenities. I was provided a bottle of water for my walk. There is extra water (complimentary) which can be found in your room too. I had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast at the first floor restaurant. The avocado toast with fried capers was delicious. Definitely will be back. read more

Love my stays at the Trade. It is right next down to Fiserv Forum and is a great post up spot before and after the game. Love that the hotel incorporates Milwaukee in its design elements (Hoan bridge, lights at the bar that resemble Lauder tuns, etc). It's modern with an industrial feel. Rooms are what you expect at this price point. As it is the visiting hotel for the opposing NBA team, love that the shower heads are sky high. The Trade Autograph Collection by Marriott in downtown Milwaukee is an experience. A hotel with a lot of history and charisma. This area of downtown is on the edge of the Third Ward ... busy with a younger crowd especially on the weekends or gamedays...this is the area to be! After being greeted at the front desk and checking in we were eager to see our rooms. The elevator takes a room key and must be tapped to be used...both going up and down! My room was located near the 8th floor. Room key again, opened the door. The room is small as I had a king size bed but well planned. The bathroom was very nice, the lighting was bright and harsh. I was very happy with the comfort of the beds as well as the pillows. The staff throughout this hotel was courteous, helpful, and friendly. Not pretentious. There are places to eat and drink in this hotel. I found them to be worth the expense. There were a lot of events the weekend we were there. The lobby area can be very crowded. Parking is very expensive - definitely not free! When getting around outside the hotel it is best to walk or take public transportation. The Trade Hotel has to be the best hotel in Milwaukee. If you're in town for a concert or a game your steps away from Fiserv arena. The price though isn't for the faint of heart. The rooms were gorgeous and very high ceilings. You can tell Marriott put money into this property from the bedsheets to the little things you might not notice. The employees were all very friendly. If money isn't a concern and you're staying in Downtown Milwaukee I would highly recommend The Trade Hotel. read more

The trade is a beautiful hotel in a great location. There is plenty of paid parking nearby. The gym was one of the best hotel gyms I've ever seen. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. There was a mini fridge and complementary water. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Milwaukee. read more

Craft is the first floor bar/restaurant in the new Trade Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. It's a beautiful space in the Deer District, offering incredible food and a large selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. First and foremost, our server Shahira was AMAZING! She was very attentive, constantly checking in with us to make sure we had everything we wanted. Our drinks and food came out quickly and always with a smile. We started with the giant pretzel and meat and cheese board. Delicious and perfect for sharing with our table of 6. I had the Shaved Brussel Sprout and Kale salad as my entree, and it was hands down the best salad I've ever had in a restaurant. The large pieces of crispy prosciutto were very flavorful and a welcome (not to mention long overdue) change to the typical croutons. These and the generous sized shaved cheeses were the perfect compliment to the craisins and vinaigrette dressing, creating a refreshing salty-sweet balance. The portion was sizeable and could have easily been shared (although I took my leftovers home and enjoyed them the next day without the greens being soggy at all). Right next to the fiserv forum, this is the ideal place for Illinoisians in the city for a concert because the venues in Chicago suck. If you call in early and ask for stair access, they'll deliver (and maybe even put you on 3rd floor) While taking the stairs got exhausting after a while, it made me realize that my fear of elevators is easing up, which makes my heart sing. read more

This review is for the lobby restaurant. Visited after a Bucks game. Service was slow but we could tell that would be an issue when we arrived so we put in our order right away. Drinks arrived after our meal. I really liked the vibe and the wings/charcuterie board were solid. The lobby is beautiful and very relaxing. We loved that we were able to light the fire, its such a nice compliment paired with the city views. The drinks and food are a little on the pricier side, but they all were very good! Craft restaurant...since they don't have their own page... The perfect location for a pregame or concert meal and drinks, IF they can get the service figured out Stopped in before a concert, with a reservation, and was seated right away but waited for a long time to be acknowledged at all and much much longer to even get water. We ordered drinks, apps and entrees right away to avoid future delays. But both of our $15 drinks say undelivered on the bar for nearly 15 minutes leaving the one on ice watered down and the other no longer chilled. Meanwhile there were three bartenders with two clearly without anything to do as they leaned and chatted. Our food actually came out in a decent amount of time (and was when we pointed out we hadn't gotten our cocktails). But the soup came without a spoon but we were told they'd grab one. We actually tried the soup with a fork but it wasnt really warm when we got it and was cold and clumpy by the time a spoon arrived. Meanwhile our check (over $100) has been silently and quickly slipped onto our table without anyone ever asking how things were, if we needed anything etc, which we did as the soda we'd ordered AND was on the bill had never come. After we ignored the bill a while the server did check in and when we said most of the food was good but the soup was inedible it was taken off our check. But when the manager I asked to speak with came over we were pretty much brushed off saying it was a concert night and there were only three servers but he'd have a talk with the server. Mind you at this point the restaurant was well under half capacity, we had made a fairly late reservation for concert time (we didn't need to see opener). No real apology was given and I definitely don't think they cared thus meaning I doubt anything will change. Wish I could recommend because location is amazing and menu is good. The wings, curds deviled eggs and grilled cheese were all excellent. Wings felt like a great value. If only they could have been even a little more attentive or dropped a sincere apology. To me a busy night means slow food, I get that. That was NOT the issue!! With a manager at least one hostess and MANY bussers there should have been someone who could have helped pick up some slack... read more

This is my second time coming to Craft at The Trade Hotel. My first experience was for cocktails after having dinner at Il Cervo and the experience and drinks were good. So I wanted to return with another friend to try out dinner. Since the food other guests were getting looked good last time I was there. We had 6:30pm reservations and arrived around 6:20pm. The host was able to seat us at our reserved table right away. The restaurant was majority filled (many guests likely were making their way to the Shania Twain concert like ourselves). Ten minutes after being seated our waitress pops over to just say she will be with us in a few. Another TWENTY FIVE minutes go by before she comes back thankfully we've had 35 minutes to look over the menu so we order our apps, entree and drinks all at once. Also requesting to finally get some water... another five minutes goes by and we finally get a carafe of water. I ordered the same cocktail I received last time I went so I knew what it looked like from our table we could see the bar pick up for servers to get the drinks for tables. I saw what looked to be our two drinks so I did a clock check and kept an eye on the situation just due to how our night already was going service wise. Twelve minutes our drinks sat! Likely a little longer even because that's just when I happened to notice because it was taking a while. Our food came out fairly quick (before we received our drinks) with two waitstaff who had no idea what table they were delivering to (yes we ordered a decent amount of food... we were excited to try and review!) they went to a table that had already eaten and then were moving their way to the other side of the room when I spoke up to say "that's ours!". After they gave us our food I asked if they could grab our drinks sitting at the bar! The food all looked really good, we were missing a spoon for the soup and when they placed it down they said they would be right back with one- no one ever returned with a spoon. I also still had not gotten my Diet Pepsi which was ordered with everything else. Food review: Deviled Eggs- they were good- but just okay Cheese Curds- these were amazing- we ordered it with the Cajun Ranch however I can't review that because we were given regular Wings( Sprecher Bbq)- surprised by how many are in the app! We figured 20 wings. They had a nice flavor and weren't super messy to eat which was nice. Also the side carrot and celery nice and fresh and crispy! Chipotle Chicken Grill Cheese- it was good, different type of sandwich then I've ordered before, wasn't super flavorful no intense kick that I was expecting but a safe choice to order. The side fries are good however we ordered it to come with their homemade chips that we were quite looking forward to trying. Beer Cheese Soup- once we finally got a spoon the soup was cold not even a bit warm so it didn't really taste that great. Drink Review: Old Fashioned- was watered down a bit due to sitting but was good Club Clover- was originally given the wrong drink had to confirm with her what I ordered and then told her my drink was still sitting at the bar since I knew it was served in a martini glass- had I not known that I likely would have drank whatever she handed me not realizing I had the wrong drink. It was okay- since it sat it was no longer chilled and I prefer to drink my martinis cold not room temp! Back into our service- a few bites of food in the waitress quickly slides the bill on the table- no words exchanged. My friend and I look at each other like okay.... I look at the bill and laugh because I still haven't received my soda and I thought maybe she forgot about it/it won't be on the bill and I would have just called that a wash. Nope it's on there- so when she popped out to serve the table near us I pointed it out and asked if I could finally get my soda I'm being charged for. At this time we also asked for a spoon again for the soup! When my friend went to the ladies room our server FINALLY asked "how was everything" I told her the food was good but the soup was not since it was cold. She said she'd remove the soup from our bill. At the same time my friend had asked for the manager. The manager came over and said he already removed the soup- we said yes paths crossed and that was adjusted and we wanted to let him know about the not so great wait times - he said it was a busy evening with the concert and he only had three servers. We didn't even get a chance to say several items were ordered wrong. It felt very just pushed off- we understand it was a busy evening but when we arrived several tables were wrapping up and didn't get new guests, the restaurant wasn't at capacity and truthfully small things such as getting a carafe of water within the first ten minutes of being seated, maybe quickly taking a drink order, or checking in throughout the meal a few times would have extremely changed our experience. read more

Dropped by the Trade Hotel to visit Il Cervo for a late night drink and good chat with friends. Very busy place on a Friday evening. We didn't need a resy; it was more so if you can find a seat you're in the clear. Upon walking up to the bar, you can really gauge a sense of the decor that was put into the establishment. Very open space with dim lighting to visually see everything and give you that Italian culture and feel. The bar area was a bit hectic - it's clear they are new and still have some kinks to work out. The staff serving the customers were semi discombobulated yet made it work as best as they could. We didn't know where to order drinks from or grab a drink menu booklet. We randomly found some books on the bar table and flagged down a bartender to place our orders. They were made fairly quickly as well. I would say the drinks are moderately priced for downtown Milwaukee but the view is pretty gorgeous. read more

The hotel is large and has a nice ambience. The rooms aren't gigantic but very sound-proofed, so that's a huge plus. The breakfast vouchers are another plus, and the servers there are kind. My eggs were definitely over-oiled but otherwise good. The valet isn't the best at communication, so if they're retrieving your car, make sure you're paying attention and looking out for its arrival. read more

Didn't actually stay here, but we went inside to the restaurant and it was beautiful! We went up to floor 9 and had drinks at IL CERVO! I got a Paloma and it was sooo delicious! They have a huge nice bar and seating everywhere! We went out on the patio part and it was beautiful up there! They have heaters and fires going for a cooler night which was so nice! It was extremely busy so the staff was running around but they handled it so well! They were very friendly! There was a lot of yummy looking dishes that came out from the kitchen and hoping to try the food sometime! Highly recommend IL CERVO for a classier and more pricey girls or date night! read more

I have stayed at the Trade Hotel on more than one occasion and it has quickly become my go-to stay for when I am in the Milwaukee area. The rooms have an upscale feel and are always very clean. I can't speak highly enough on the kindness and hospitality of the staff. They are very accommodating and helpful. Upon arrival they provide you with free drink tokens at the bar and they accommodated to my late checkout request with no charge. The hotel itself is located directly across from the Fiserv Forum and several amazing restaurants. There is valet parking on site but also street parking nearby which is much cheaper. My exceptional stay here inspired me to stay at another Autograph collection hotel (Chicago) and I was thoroughly pleased with that location as well. I will now exclusively stay at this chain of hotels! P.S The blackout curtains in the room work so well you would never guess that my photos were taken at 1pm during the day ;) read more

Stayed here before and it was great! So I stayed here again and recommended others to stay as well. This time though... my room smelled like cat food. No other way to describe it and I don't even have cats. Just disgusting. Then you CANNOT CHANGE THE TEMP IN YOUR OWN ROOM. sorry but that's a huge reason to stay in a hotel in general! It was set at 70 and you cannot change it. Even asked a friend in another room and she couldn't change it either. Lastly, there was a high pitched whistling sound the whole time. Luckily I had a white noise app to drown it out at night but yikes. Not sure I'd stay here again. read more

I actually really enjoyed my experience at Craft. I went on my birthday but at about 4:30 PM so it wasn't busy. My husband and I shared the stuffed pretzel, the fish fry and the beer cheese soup. All were actually really good. The fish fry is one of the better, more crispy, battered fish that I've had in town. I can't say no to a good pretzel and it reheated well the next night! Service at the bar was good but the selection of beers is a bit lackluster. I'd definitely come back! read more

Great spot, especially if you're attending a basketball game or event at the forum. Bed was SO comfortable. Well appointed room and mini-bar drinks were a smart way to do it! Very comfortable and quiet. Didn't hear a peep from other rooms on a busy playoff weekend. Lobby restaurant / bar was good. Bartenders were polite and friendly. Rooftop bar was not great service. Somewhat inattentive and didn't even bother to wipe up the water they spilled that was slowly flowing toward us. We had to grab bar napkins to stop it, even after he acknowledged it. Housekeeping didn't come the first day (NO we did not have the DND on). Next day we asked for housekeeping and the front desk person said "you must have had your DND on." OK, so it's our fault. We KNOW we did not have it on, don't blame me that your housekeeper didn't come to the room. Minor issues during what was a really nice stay. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Having been to Il Cuervo before I was surprised at the lack of professionalism and interest given by our bartender "Scott" last evening. After taking my partners order and handing him his rye he Left the bar for several mins leaving me to wonder if he planned on returning to even ask if I wanted something. The two other tenders were oblivious and stayed by the back of bar until approached and asked for assistance. 3 patrons at the bar so no excuse for this type of disregard. Had this been my first time at the Trade it would have been my last. Disappointed to see such lack of training in a beautiful facility. read more

First of all, valet parking is FOURTY-FOUR DOLLARS. In freaking Milwaukee. I couldn't believe it. The valet guy also lied to me and told me that there was no cheaper parking or street parking nearby. I literally drove 3 blocks and found free street parking. (Insert eye roll here.) When you check in they give you a couple of drink tokens, valid in the bar until 6pm. Went to the very busy bar and learned that the tokens can only be used for one kind of beer. None of us were in the mood for beer, so that was a let down. The rooms are fine. Modern. Pretty comfortable. The shower is okay. Not memorable. We got free breakfast with our stay and that was nice. The food wasn't great, but it was convenient to have an easy breakfast option. I find that really disturbing for the fact that I have no relationship with her or the business, and calling me after a post is really not the way to handle professional situations. We very recently stayed at the Trade Hotel in Milwaukee for our company Christmas Party (01/2024) that was being held at a different venue. Our entire experience went downhill from the start, with valet parking. They have no real organization when it comes to a high volume of people pulling up to check in and thus it caused an unidentified couple to have "fender bender" after that couple followed direction of the valet attendant and was asked to pull forward and off to the right. Upon direction of the valet attendant, that couple's car was hit by another couple trying to pull into valet in their fancy BMW. Both drivers hopped out of their vehicles, both visibly upset by what had just happened and unfortunately engaged in an exchange of words. When it was all said and done, the hotel checked in both couples (not related to one another) and we thought that was the end of the incident. However, the Trade Hotel management decided to have the first couple removed from the property after allowing them to check in and giving them their room keys. As a bystander, the entire situation was unfortunate and could have been prevented with the proper valet direction. Instead, the valet's lack of leadership caused two different couples to get in an accident, which essentially led to the one couple being escorted out of the hotel and told they were not allowed to come back. It was utterly and completely handled with a HUGE lack of professionalism. Not only that, but we overheard the hotel would not be refunding that couple for their overnight say which never occurred because they were escorted out and their car returned to them by the valet parking person. My take on the situation, The Trade Hotel owes that poor couple their money back for their room and any other charges they may have been tacked on. I couldn't imagine being escorted out, told I'm not allowed back and being embarrassed in front of crowds of guests within the main lobby of the hotel. If I were that couple, I'd have retained legal representation and discussed my options for punitive damages. This is a beautiful hotel in a great location but the lack of empathy by staff in a heated situation that was partly caused by their valet people, doesn't fit the atmosphere we look for. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. I've been here for brunch and now for drinks at the upstairs rooftop bar. Service is terrible and they're rude. The bartender with brown curly hair didn't acknowledge my husband and I at the bar for at least 12 minutes. He had the audacity to give us the check then ask if we had drinks previously. We didn't. Why give a check if you're questioning what we didn't drink? You didn't even acknowledge us, so why would you then question us? What I also found interesting is he took time to apologize to two women for "being busy" but didn't do the same for us. I won't be returning and I suggest you don't bother going. read more

This is the best hotel I've ever been at.Even though I'd call it a splurge it's is nice. I was staying here with my friend and her mom and my mom for a weekend trip to watch the bucks such a fun night before the day before actually we checked into the hotel the staff are so nice even though it was pretty busy there they kept it cool we enjoyed dinner at a nice Irish pub family friendly some of the time depends when you go!anways the next day we woke up at 8:00 to see if the players from the other team would come outside of their rooms to go to the arena and it was amazing I saw bol bol on my floor and my mom said have a good game and he said thanks and yeah it was totally spectacular. We ate breakfast there it was fire such a good time there honestly then it did get pretty busy as the day went on and the game was getting closer but overall I would say this hotel is a 5/5!! read more

The most expensive hotel on the city, but they still charge more than agreed upon. My room had absolutely nowhere to place my computer and do any work. Not a desk, not a table, nothing. The ceilings in the room are , I guess, shabby sheep, but, really, they just never finished them. The catering service is exorbitant and you cannot use outside vendors. AND, they will charge you more than agreed upon. Get ready to file a claim with your credit card company. There are several much better choices very close by. Tamara had the best service out of any employee at a hotel I have ever stayed at. Me and my fiancé and a couple of buddies came from out of state to see a beloved artist at a one of a kind concert and she made it a one of a kind experience at said hotel. 6/5 star stay based solely on her kindness and availability to accommodate the people staying at her establishment. I chose the hotel because it was brand new and I needed a place to chill for 3 days. Checking in was fine. Valet service, front desk, help with my bags to my room. All great. The room had a few issues for a hotel that is brand new. There are only outlets/chargers on one side of the bed. The ones that are built into the one side put out an inadequate current to charge my apple devices. When I try to plug in my apple chargers into the table top outlets, they are too close and again only on one side of the bed. I know I am sounding like a whiny .... but really? For what they charge in this day of devices? I found one other outlet in the room where I could charge and sit at the same time. The room service is "interesting" comes in boxes with "flexible" plastic forks and knives, and a single, single ply napkin. Really? You couldn't spring another nickel and get sturdier tableware and throw in a few extra napkins? Always felt that I was annoying someone at this place. I did not ask for much, but did not get a good vibe. Except for the restaurant bar on the 9th floor. Bar was great. Bar tenders were outstanding. I will not be coming back here, but the room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was great, sound was very quiet, the esthetics were beautiful. read more
