We could easily walk to downtown restaurants and breakfast spots, and many of the wineries were only about a 20-minute drive or Uber ride away. We especially loved the weekend touches. Friday evening featured a complimentary local winery tasting, and during our stay Sixmilebridge poured several wines for guests to try. Saturday night had live music, which added to the fun atmosphere. The hotel also has a lobby-level bar and café with great indoor and outdoor seating and a cozy fireplace. Upstairs by the pool is Esperanza, a Mexican restaurant and bar, and there's also EMRE, a Mediterranean restaurant, on the first floor. Beautiful hotel, great location, safe and walkable downtown area, and plenty to enjoy without even leaving the property. We would absolutely stay here again!

Slight downgrade from last year…read more.. My fiancé and I stayed here for one night while attending Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest. You can't beat the location. Easy walk- which is a must! So why the downgrade? Well, the room wasn't as nice as last time. Wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom and there weren't any slippers this time. The staff was a mixed bag. Last year, everyone we encountered was super friendly. Smiles all around. This year, hit or miss. Morning staff didn't seem to be friendly. Their complimentary breakfast is a nice touch. It ends at 10am and then checkout is 11. There's enough offered to start your day. The pros outweigh the cons. 4 stars.

No hiking trails nearby, stores, etc. It's was not an issue, but we were not prepared for driving on dirt/gravel for so long. There's a large fenced dirt-field on one side and a vineyard on the other side of the grounds and I believe the owner is at the top of the hill. The good: Cute outdoor space to sit around the gas fire pit. We had a nice evening sitting around it, with soft music playing from our camper. There are 3 campers on the property that share the common space. You get fresh eggs, butter, OJ and champagne in the fridge. Apparently you can see the farm animals if you coordinate with the owner, but we didn't have time. Since it's remote, you can be somewhat loud and dance around the common area. The bad: The dining table was warped, but we didn't use it at all. Cobwebs around wheels of camper and plants: wouldn't be a big deal but the small outside dining table is right next to them. Bed sheets were absolutely filthy. I don't know when the last time they were washed. The unit smelled. I felt like I was in an outhouse the entire time. We purchased 2 candles at a couple of wineries to try and hide the smell...it slightly worked. We wouldn't have stayed any night except we came with another couple who couldn't afford to stay someplace else at the last minute. Our friends also complained about the smell of their unit (they purchased candles too) and what looked like dirty towels just thrown back into the cabinets. I debated whether to give this place 1 or 2 stars. I decided to give 2 because I can see a lot of positive in the place. However, it needs some major cleaning.

This was the most prefect vacation with friends. We got all three of the suites and had an amazing time hanging out all weekend. Each camper is thoughtfully designed in a different motif, with every amenity covered, along with coffee, fresh eggs in the fridge from their adorable chickens, milk, a bottle of MUMM Sparkling Wine and OJ to make mimosas in the morning. The A/C in the campers works wonderfully, and the bed is firm, yet comfy. You are also provided with plenty of flatware and glasses/plates/bowls, etc.. to get you through the weekend should you choose to eat there, which we did! We did a grocery store run the first night and grilled steaks and veggies on the awesome BBQ they have, and ate out on the lovely dining table. The next morning we made bacon, eggs, and toast and dined al fresco again. They have a great communal area for hanging out with comfy stylish furniture, a fire-pit table, and a large hammock under their gorgeous oak tree, which one of my friends laid in for a couple hours one night. The wifi is good, and they even have speakers inside and outside of each camper if you want some jams! I can tell you a lot of 80's music was played outside, hope Kristy and Evan didn't hear us! So aside from this being a really great place to stay and hang out with friends, the hosts, Kristy & Evan are probably the sweetest couple I have ever met. They came down and greeted us about 30 minutes after we had all arrived and talked with us a bit before going back up to their house. They also had their two adorable dogs come down with them, who are some of the most loving dogs I have ever met. Lastly, let's not forget, the GOATS! And the sheep, and the chickens, and the ducks. They have the most amazing farm with the sweetest animals you could ever meet. I spent about 30 minutes just loving on their beautiful animals, petting and talking to them. They are all so friendly and nice and love human interaction. If you are thinking of staying here, don't think twice, just book it! It's an amazing place, close to downtown and not far from the wineries. You will LOVE staying here.

There are statues everywhere there a vineyard in the back. You can walk around with a scotch garden at the top and architecture resembles Tuscany. On Friday they had some complementary wine tasting just a couple of wines and serenades in the lobby. Everything was spotless kept very clean with amazing attentive service. This place is located in Paso Robles close to many wineries for great wine tasting. The Priority Pass gives you 2 for 1 tastings at eight wineries in the area. There is a $52 resort fee. The swimming pool has a pool bar and a Jacuzzi they have an outdoor chess set and also a table tennis table, although it is hard to play outside in the wind. This is a luxury resort and I would definitely want to stay here again.

Full kitchen, marble countertops, living room, 65" TV, separate bedroom with a king bed and another nice TV and adjoining bathroom. Huge 9' high heavy doors. Our expectations were exceeded. This might be the poor mans Allegretto but we certainly found it to be very nice. You will too. Sorry no pictures this time.

Beautiful Hotel, but Not a Five-Star Experience…read more We have always loved the charm, location, and intimate atmosphere of Hotel Cheval, which is why we not only chose to stay here but also recommended it to friends. Unfortunately, the price point suggests a true five-star experience, while the condition and maintenance of the hotel simply do not. During our stay, we experienced plumbing issues as well as problems with roof leaks. More concerning is that friends we recommended the hotel to also experienced plumbing problems during their stay. Their solution? They were handed a plunger. At a hotel charging luxury rates, that is simply not an acceptable response to a guest experiencing a plumbing problem. Hotel Cheval has so much going for it--the location is wonderful, the property is charming, and we genuinely wanted to continue loving it. But luxury is more than atmosphere and a premium room rate. It also means excellent maintenance, attention to detail, and service that resolves problems without making them the guest's responsibility. At this price point, the infrastructure and level of service need to match the promise. Right now, they don't. I hope management invests in the property because Hotel Cheval could absolutely live up to the experience its pricing suggests.

My only real gripe is how hard they're pushing guests to buy their snacks and wine-- the room has not one but two pieces of furniture loaded with premixed cocktails, a bottle of wine, snacks, and bottled mineral water. They don't allow "outside food" in common areas, whose definition was never clear to me- does it include the patios in front of the rooms? So I felt like a criminal bringing in takeout for dinner, but there is no food onnthe premises other than various kinds of overpriced chips and cookies. They don't let you bring outside wine in common areas, either, which might have something to do with licensing or might just be trying to make you buy their wine. So we waited until it was dark and no one was around to enjoy our outside wine on the patio. But we didn't get in trouble so maybe it was ok. They're also really promoting their bath products, for sale in their little gift shop, along with membership in their hotel chain for "rewards." The website says pet friendly and indeed, dogs are allowed in all rooms-- $50 each is a little steep for pet charge though. The website says there's something for pets in the room but there was none in our room, even though we booked in advance. I don't really care that much but if they say it, they should do it. There were also some rich women guests who looked at me like I was a homeless person or space alien, but other guests I met in the breakfast room were normal and friendly. But basically, it's a hotel oriented toward well-off "classy" wine tourists, and if you're not one of those, you might feel a little awkward here. (I did.) But it's a lovely, comfortable little room with charming grounds, probably nice for a romantic getaway without your dogs.

Decor was bright and eclectic- also possibly representing local artists. Wine tasting happens from 3-5p (bummer I didn't know and got the text at 615p). Next time. Heads up. The front desk closes at 10p but the desk reminds you every evening. One of the best things? Continental breakfast in the lobby...don't miss the locally baked croissants- they rival ones we had in France. Will I return? Absolutely!! I'd forgo the hotel giants for this slice of heaven.

Mornings were cool and evenings warm but pleasant in August but day time was blazing hot. Checking in and out was smooth and easy. Our room was conveniently just across from the pool area, which is also where the ice machine resides. Room A/C worked very well, and it was just as comfortable as I remember back in December. The blackout window shade and the reading lights above the beds were particularly thoughtful accessories. Adelaide inn is well situated near the 101 and 46 highways which makes it super easy to go to wineries or downtown. Highly recommend!

Our room was right next to it so when our window was open we could hear the trickling waterfall. The picnic area was also simple and sweet. The customer service was the first thing we noticed- the person who checked us in was upbeat and cheerful and there was zero hassle getting our room key and also the run down of what was offered during our stay. When we returned for pool towels it was a new Inn attendant who was equally cheery and well spoken, alerting us to pool hours & how to return the towels. The inn is also perfectly located near the event center and dozens of businesses so if you need coffee, groceries, gas or a restaurant it's all right there. It's a short 1 minute drive to downtown, and the on ramp for nearby wineries is even closer. Perfect stay!
