Baby lamb was born during one of our stays! So flippin' cute!

Where do I begin with this little gem in the rolling foothills of Paso Robles? You follow a country road amidst the signature oak trees of the region to the west. As you venture down the long driveway surrounded by vineyards on either side, you know you've landed somewhere special. We have enjoyed several stays at Rêves de Moutons and we just keep coming back for more. Literally, we can't get enough of this place between the lovable animals, amazing views, and delightful innkeepers. We're sad to leave it behind each time we head back down to San Diego. We love it here so much. Let's go through an average day during one of our stays... following a restful sleep in a comfortable and well-appointed guest room (and we're picky people... we have a tempurpedic mattress at home and rarely feel well-rested in foreign beds!), we are greeted with strong legit coffee on the back patio with a breakfast including farm-fresh eggs (does it get better than that?!) as the sun blankets the panoramic views of the velvety central coast hills that we love, all played out to the soundtrack of farm life with chickens, sheep and goats going about their morning routine. One of our favorite things is what we've aptly named "sheep tv" as we watch the herd cruise across the pasture and life just slows down for a bit... perfection in our book. After equalizing and letting life just go on around us for a bit, we clean up and head out for wine-tasting around our favorite wine region. Lots of options near and far to be enjoyed, depending on how adventurous you are. There are even a few tasting rooms within just a few minutes of the farm! Sidenote: highly recommend Lush Limos too if you want to be responsible and safe. Once we've enjoyed our afternoon out a few wineries, we love to grab some dinner to bring back to the farm for relaxed fare later on. But we wouldn't want to miss the show in the late afternoon as the sun begins to set and we watch the shadows grow across the folds of hills from a comfortable loungy outdoor sectional overlooking the pasture and hills with unique views in each direction. It's pretty amazing. No, it's epic. This is also the time of day where you may hear the "bubbly bell" ring indicating champagne/wine time with the delightful innkeepers, Kristy and Evan. Though, it's not required, and not for everyone, we LOVE hanging out with them, hearing their stories of farm life and their pursuit to chase their dream with a working farm/inn moving towards a fromagerie. They're inspiring and keep great company! Then we have a relaxed evening enjoying the big open sky full of stars (and even reflections of the Milky Way!), listening to the sounds of owls, frogs, and even a wild coyote in the distance. You really feel connected with nature and all the worries and rush-rush of the rat race seem to disappear here. And we think that's magical. And for the animal lovers (as we are!) out there, Rêves de Moutons is filled with sweet, lovable farm animals who are well socialized and seem to really enjoy human interaction. We've even been around shortly after little baby lambs have been born and it was an incredible experience to be that close to them. As an added bonus, we also absolutely adore their cheese, when in season. Their chèvre is the bomb! The property itself is spotted with the signature oak trees of the region (Paso de Robles=the pass of the oaks) and there is plenty of distance from the neighbors so you truly feel like you're getting away from it all. I highly recommend a stay here if you're looking to get away from it all, while being surrounded by nature and animals, and having everything Central Coast has to offer within a stone's throw. Just do it--you won't regret it!!

I'm so happy we picked this B&B. The petite suites were simply adorable, and they were perfectly clean, comfy, and cozy. It was so nice to use the fire pit and enjoy the pretty lights outdoors, nestled in between vineyards. We loved having farm fresh eggs available to us each morning for breakfast. The farm tour was the best part! The farm dog, Matilde, was so sweet and most impressive. We loved our experience, and we could really see how much the owners love what they're doing. The location was great for being near plenty of wineries and close access to the downtown area. If you're looking for a getaway, this is a much better option than a hotel. It was an experience I'm so happy to have had.

Fun and unique experience. Evan was very helpful and responsive and took us to meet all of the animals on his farm. We stayed in the Joy trailer and found its flamingo theme delightful. The farm fresh eggs were to die for and so was the Orange Juice. If you plan on übering into town, be ready to wait for 30 minutes due to the remote nature of the property. It rained a lot while we were in town and the dirt road can get pretty muddy (also a paved road to the 101 was flooded pretty badly in 2 spots). All in all, we highly recommend this great experience.

Fresh eggs in the morning! YUM

As a bed and breakfast, too, this winery offered a nice Viognier that I picked up for my neighbor as well as some blended reds whose varietal names escape my wine-muddled memory. The tasting host was a cheery guy who informed us that his wine club was a mob-themed club sporting fedoras and a life time of dedication lest they be excused closed-coffin style. This winery doesn't knock your socks off with a to-die-for grape, but you will leave here with a good taste nonetheless.

Huge walk in shower, two sinks, a claw foot tub. A room for the toilet. The room has a fireplace and flat screen TV, a large closet room. Room is upstairs. There are three rooms for the place. We stayed during the big state fair in town and I believe the people in both of the other rooms went to the fair. I did get a bit scared when the couple down stairs was coming home at 3am. Their door is outside but it sound like some one was breaking in. Stayed in July and was grateful for the ceiling fan and the fact that it does cool down at night. We were able to open windows and turn on the ceiling fan to cool down the room. Paso Robles get very warm in the summer. 100 both days we were there. A bit outside of town but nothing too far to make it not worth it. Breakfast in the morning was nice. Standard breakfast. Not your typical sit down let me serve you B&B breakfast. More here is a buffet help yourself. Can sit inside or out on their porch. Glad we got to experience the place. A bit shocked at the cost of a glass of wine ($10) when staying at the place but they have a right to charge what they want.

Some have Romeo and Juliet balconies the rest have sitting balconies all overlooking the vineyard. The property is located in the rolling hills not far from the main road but tucked away enough to feel away from it all. The price point for the rooms is below the value received. There is not a restaurant on site, but they do provide a daily delicious breakfast in an indoor lovely setting that was included. They offer an extensive Sunday brunch for $39.00. Parking is sufficient for the number of suites and an EV charger is located in 2 stalls. The staff is accommodating. Allegretto vineyard and winery is just down the way with a lovely upscale restaurant if you don't want to go downtown which is 11 minutes away with a plethora of choices for dining and shopping. Can't wait to return to this gem. I did have a problem with booking through a third party service, so I would suggest booking directly to ensure your room is available.

When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here. Do not let the 4.6 rating fool you.

"B&B" is a real stretch and the only animals are a couple of miniature horses,a goat and a pig (not a "ranch" to my mind). Upside: The grounds and garden are nice and there is a pretty gazebo above a man-made water garden, a lower patio with bar (no bartender), a huge deck with porch and holiday lights strung, which looked lovely at night. Downside: The dusty dirt road gets really old after a while and the pool is above ground, unheated, and only 4' deep. Warning - kids in diapers are not welcome in the pool. This is a big deal when the average summer temps are over 90 degrees and there are no other options to cool young kids. Ever heard of swim diapers and plastic pants? Accommodations: The main house is decent and sleeps a lot of people and appears fairly well equipped. The accommodations next to and above the garage are a definite pass - it is not very big, everything feels cheap, lots of ants, the A/C is really noisy and barely adequate to keep the place cool, although there are fans. There is plenty of on site camping and camper space, with available bathrooms and showers. The owner is really kooky and appears to run the place entirely by herself. We stayed at the "ranch" for a wedding and beyond seeing her the first five minutes we arrived, never spoke to her again. Not once did she ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. There is zero cell phone reception or internet, so we had no way of even getting in touch with her. Funny that we saw her happily eating and drinking at the reception (how weird is that?) Later we heard her complaining that people were using too much electricity! I am greener than the average person, but I'm sorry, it was over 100 degrees when we were there so the A/C was going full tilt while we were there and the party/reception lasted until 2am! She was very well compensated for the entire weekend and the whole thing seemed very petty and left a bad impression. Only after our stay in talking with other guests, did we discover that the tap water is apparently not advisable to drink! WTF?! We all had intestinal/stomach issues for days after our stay. Do yourself a favor, there are tons of other places to stay in the area. You can do much better in Paso!

In the evening the fireplaces are burning with hardwood every night and they offer fresh made s'mores to hotel guests. There's actually a s'mores menu. The whole environment is almost like something from a movie. They've also got a wonderful library that is tastefully appointed with many wonderful and interesting different books to read. It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.
