Can I say OMG... the mash potatoes and white gravy!!! I could have drank the gravy from a bowl. My coworker ordered the steak bites with mashed potatoes and gravy. Only after she was done did o ask to try them. Holy crap it was so good. Mashed red potatoes and the magic white gravy were soooo good. She did order the grilled steak bites and they came out fried but she still ate them and said they were really good. I ordered the Trails burger or something to that effect. It was your normal smash burger with caramelized onions, it was good and I finished more than I normally do. For not being a fries person, they were good. Crunchy on the put side and soft on the inside. Just how a fry should be. Definitely a locals place because when we walked in every one was looking at us, like they did not see many travelers. Wow..amazing. My husband loves to cook and is a huge fan of Good Eats and makes the recipes seen. He said his Chicken Fried Steak was the best he ever had. I had a Burger and it was delicious and the dide was really crispy. The atmosphere was awesome. read more

I have never left a review about any business ever. I think that it is very important to note that my husband and I have been going here for a few years now. Tonight, we went in to have some dinner and they were obviously very busy, which also is not unusual in the restaurant business. What was unusual is the fact that we sat there waiting patiently for 30 minutes. All the employees walked by numerous times and never even made eye contact. Two couples met there at the front after us and the girl stopped and said sorry that they were having to wait; completely ignoring my husband and I right next to these couples. I have been a server and a damn good one, and would never ignore anyone who came in. A couple walked in at about the 30 minute mark and, again, the hostess/bus girl said hello to them and said they would be with them shortly Are you kidding me? I stood up and said we've been waiting 30 minutes and the girl said I'm just trying to let the servers catch up. Again, excuse me, I mean what the heck; nothing like being completely ignored for 30 minutes and then they tell the couple who just walked in.. we have been busy but we will get you seated soon. This is not the first time we've been treated like that from these same servers. We have been seated and forgotten multiple times. I ordered a Caesar salad one night, and there was slimy lettuce, and,yes, relatives were visiting and so they saw the slimy salad. We have gotten our small dinner salads when they brought out our dinner. I do not know where you find these employees, but there have been multiple instances where they were rude and we were ignored. I have had it with this place and have nothing nice to say about it at all. We live 30+ minutes away, and I will never come back. We ended up at the grocery store and driving home to make our own dinner. All my relatives are going to hear about this, as are my friends. I have given the benefit of the doubt that maybe someone is having a bad day, but this was absolutely ridiculous. I'm so done with this place. read more

Had a fabulous dinner tonight at The Trails Restaurant & Lounge. Our waitress, Krista, took good care of us and recommended our dinner tonight. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. My country friend steak with brown gravy was off the charts. You can definitely tell it's homemade. The breading was DELICIOUS! For dessert, we had the Brownie Tower and the cream brûlée. Both were delicious and gone! The brownie at the bottom of the brownie tower was cooked perfectly. It was warm, cooked right, and topped with ice cream. Just get it! read more

Service was friendly -- when we could get it. The place wasn't that busy, but we stood at the door in front of the "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign, waited and waited, and finally a customer suggested we just seat ourselves. So we did, and waited and waited. We ordered from the bar; they had a modest selection but we got our drinks right away and they were good. We never did get anyone to come take our food order, but managed to flag someone down. The food came out, it was average quality and average portions. The menu small and unimaginative. My wife and I went in for dinner and drinks. My go to is beer, what they had was fine. As for the hard liquor part. They need help. My wife wanted a flavored martini. Sorry they can't do that. Ok, how about a Mai Tai. Nope can't do that. Alright, do you have a bar menu for cocktails? Nope don't have one. Well when we were waiting to decide, my beer came. When the waitress came back to see what we were going to eat I told her that I would just take a check for the beer and leave. She was totally surprised. The Trails restaurant in Grangeville Idaho is a wonderful place for dinner in a small town. I had the Shrimp Linguine Diablo and it was perfect in every way. Been here a couple of times now. They have a great chef. The service is great the wait staff is great and they even have a bar attached that has a good selection of ales and other adult beverages. If you're ever in Grangeville and you need a good lunch or dinner I highly suggest The Trails restaurant. read more

Stopped in here several months ago for breakfast with my wife while visiting the area. Breakfast was so good and the waitress was so friendly and professional, we came back for lunch too. Went to Trails for Mother's brunch. There was no food in the serving trays but cold waffles and pancakes. There was suppose to be an omelette bar but there was no one cooking. It was a disgrace for a holiday brunch. read more
