It almost seems as if you are going to the wrong place because it's close to the prison and it looks like the COs park there but this is where you park for the gift shop. Quite a beautiful view of the bay. In the gift shop there is no photography allowed or even bags as I recall. Everything is cash only which I'm glad I read about beforehand since I pay debit card for everything. There are some nice paintings that are surprisingly good. Most range from $20-100 so keep that in mind again with the cash to make sure you have enough if you like something. Other than the paintings everything else was meh. The inmates making the crafts have limited means as to what they can create so it's not surprising but just keep that in mind if you envisioned a craft store with lots of quality stuff; it's more a random assortment of kitchy knick nacks. I would recommend doing the prison museum afterwards since you are already there but that's another thing you have to coordinate with the times because it has limited hours as well. This is more of a 3 star place to me since you have to pay cash, the hours are extremely limited, and the products are so-so but I gave it 4 stars since it has a lot of character and I appreciate anything that is offbeat and unique.

The shopping center is always clean. Seldom will you find litter or debris on the ground. In the past few year, more upscale shops have opened their doors to appease the local Soccer moms, including Spanish Table, West Elm, Lavande Nail Spa, and Athleta. You certainly won't find a Target, Panda Express or $1 Store in this mall. Welcome to Mill Valley, folks. Although Strawberry Village continues to expand its vendor portfolio and spruce itself up, my favorite thing about this mall is the smaller businesses who have been there for years. Their authentication expert pointed out three separate signs that the shoes were not genuine. So, not real real after all. When I took the shoes to The RealReal in Larkspur, I was directed to a text-based chat with a "specialist" who told me that because the return window had passed, there was nothing they could do. I'm now out over $400 for two pairs ( one with a broken heel that they said I should have come in right away about). Extremely disappointed. A company that claims to care about luxury and sustainability should at the very least stand behind the authenticity of what it sells. This experience makes me seriously question their values.
