This is definitely a hangout spot catered to college students, and has that divebar/pizza joint feel that you might be more inclined to if you're on the younger end. They have a huge menu, serving everything from Mexican food to pizza to burgers, so if you're on campus and have a big group, this might have something that can satisfy anyone. I got a slice of pizza and taco to go, and the staff was nice and patient as we were deciding what to order. There weren't a lot of people when we went but I can imagine this place filling up quickly on weeknights (I imagine they're open late too). My pizza was just OK, I'm not a huge fan of thick crust and it was a little greasy for my liking. My taco was good, but my favorite thing about the order was probably the tortilla chips on the side. I found this spot while looking for a lunch spot on our Cantor Arts Museum date, and she was a little disappointed to discover it was a on-campus college hangout. Me- it brought be back to my CSULB days, watching Jimmy Eat World and Strokes videos in between my Critical Race Gender Ideology class and Woke Indoctrination lab, so I felt right at home. It's certainly not fancy. With the back room roped off (likely on weekends), there's only one big room full of TVs and picnic tables. It's part of the Tresidder Memorial Union, and was designed to feel like a treehouse due to its elevated structure nestled in a grove of oak trees by Lake Lagunita. What brought me there was the menu, and nobody can argue it's not extensive, though it's mostly burgers and fries, pizza, and Mexican food, with many items not listed on the menu. You can also grab a $7 pint of Ben and Jerry's. The nacho fries were a big portion- I saved half of it. On my second visit (with friends, not the wife) the Smashburger and fries were decent. Both my wife (first visit) and friends (2nd visit) couldn't understand my attraction to the place, so I guess it's not for everyone. I went here for lunch today and had an unpleasant experience with the cashier. The first time, I ordered a whole pizza, and the second time, a can of cola. I'm an Asian who studied and have lived in the US for 7 years. Both times I was speaking at a normal volume, the cashier responded with "Oh, what?" twice, with a face of difficulty in understanding my English, making it super uncomfortable to order. The entire ordering process is dismissive, the staff is unfriendly. I couldn't help but wonder if there was any race bias involved. I am a pretty huge fan of this restaurant; with it being on a college campus, the menu offers many different options ranging from pizza, burgers, Mexican, Indian, asian and more. The pricing of all items is extremely reasonable and affordable for college students. Overall, we had a great experience here. The five stars isn't because this is Michelin star rated food or because there was some side show that delivered food to our table (spoiler alert, it's fast casual and they don't deliver food). We ordered the following, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. * Nacho Fries - I decided to order without meat (which is very odd and rare for me), and boy and I glad I did. It was an explosion of taste. The flavors blended well together, and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Absolutely delicious! * Taco Plate - chicken taco, carnitas taco, and double order of rice (instead of beans & rice) * As a side note, they offered two self-serve salsas which were both delicious. As someone who likes spice (but not crazy burn), they were not hot at all, but really added good flavor. I really appreciated how the taco plate was customized for my son without any issue. He is not a fan of beans, and he really wanted two different types of tacos. The man behind the counter took the order with no problems at all. I was eyeing their pizzas while waiting. Those look fantastic as well. They are NY style, my favorite. You can create your own, or order from a few of their "standard" offerings which all looked delicious. You can also order individual slices, but you'd better fold them in half and eat them NY style while walking out! I'm not the only one, my group of coworkers always avoid it because we take consideration if they don't care about customers, they probably don't care about the food. I really enjoyed this food court and this sports bar. It's super convenient for the students and Stanford staff from all over. I ordered their jalapeño burger which was pretty big; meat patty was thick and full of juice. They also served a side of fries! This whole meal was only $6.95! Way cheaper than I expected and big in portion. Me and my co workers definitely had a good time here. I do want to come back and sip on some beer or wine while watching a football game. I'm sure it's pretty live and a fun place to be in during Stanford football games. They have a large variety of food on their menu here and the setup reminds me of Crepevine where everything is laid out on the wall (the menu). This is a good place to eat for a campus restaurant. As a student, it is conveniently located in tressider center and has a very large menu. Personally I think the pizza slices are delicious, but you have to get lucky with your timing because they aren't always available. It is a bit pricey given that it's in the center of a college campus. However if you are not already on Stanford's campus, this wouldn't be a place to seek out. read more

I absolutely loved their squared pizza. I used to buy it every day before the pandemic. However, I visited this place a few months ago and they had a completely different style of pizza. The old pizza that I loved had a thick crust and a garlic taste. The squared slices of pizza would always be the first item that was displayed right when you entered the restaurant. (This wasn't the case when I visited a few months ago). They used to sell these squared slices of pizza before the pandemic but it seems like they changed their menu. I have been going to the Tressider and Treehouse since I was a child as my mom and two aunts work at Stanford. I hadn't been in a while until yesterday before the upsetting Stanford versus Utah game but I digress. I ordered a combo taco plate - one shrimp and one fish which comes with rice and beans for $8. Both the fish and shrimp came with pineapple which I could do without however they were both super tasty! My mother ordered a carnitas bowl which also came with rice and beans for $7. Carnitas was flavorful and portions were big especially for the price point. We also ordered the watermelon chia drink and the horchata which were about $3-4 each. I would pass on the horchata but the watermelon chia was refreshing and made me feel healthy lol. Their menu is extensive! Prices are super affordable for the amount and quality of food the give you! Canteen style self service lunch spot. They offer great options for both Indian, Mexican and American grub. Try their kale and bean salad with Mexican sauces... you will love it and feel less guilty especially after a 5 mile hike at the dish loop nearby. Tried their Phaal curry on my last visit and it's definitely not for the faint hearted. It contains lots of paprika but that's about it. Located at the Stanford campus with many other food options, you can find this place tucked away in the corner. You order at a counter, pick up the food on your own and you can leave your plates and silverware at a cart with bins in it. Got a chicken teriyaki bowl, yum! It had veggies, pineapples, rice and of course chicken. The rice portion was a lot more than the chicken though. Also got the garlic fries which were okay, the garlic tasted a bit watered down.
