My wife and I disagree on few things, from where I should put my socks after I take them off to the importance of buying jewelry to Christina Ricci being pretty or not to the existence of California Barking Spiders. We can add The Treehouse to the list. I found this spot while looking for a lunch spot on our Cantor Arts Museum date, and she was a little disappointed to discover it was a on-campus college hangout. Me- it brought be back to my CSULB days, watching Jimmy Eat World and Strokes videos in between my Critical Race Gender Ideology class and Woke Indoctrination lab, so I felt right at home. It's certainly not fancy. With the back room roped off (likely on weekends), there's only one big room full of TVs and picnic tables. It's part of the Tresidder Memorial Union, and was designed to feel like a treehouse due to its elevated structure nestled in a grove of oak trees by Lake Lagunita. What brought me there was the menu, and nobody can argue it's not extensive, though it's mostly burgers and fries, pizza, and Mexican food, with many items not listed on the menu. You can also grab a $7 pint of Ben and Jerry's. The nacho fries were a big portion- I saved half of it. On my second visit (with friends, not the wife) the Smashburger and fries were decent. Both my wife (first visit) and friends (2nd visit) couldn't understand my attraction to the place, so I guess it's not for everyone. I guess I like an unpretentious place with decent choices, prices, and conveniences, like ... the free refills of Diet Dr. Pepper, tubs of ketchup instead of packets, free ranch, pico de gallo, and avocado salsa, and variety of hot sauces, ranging from tapatio and tabasco to Tears of a Butthole, as featured on Hot Ones.

Overall, we had a great experience here. The five stars isn't because this is Michelin star rated food or because there was some side show that delivered food to our table (spoiler alert, it's fast casual and they don't deliver food). The five star rating is because of our overall experience - quality of the food, huge number of options to meet anyone's palate (mexican food, indian dishes, pizza, breakfast foods), decent portion size, and solid service. There are lots of indoor and outdoor seating options, and they seem to have a few games that are typically on display. We stopped by in the summer, so things were very calm - our food came out quickly, there were no lines, and there was seating available everywhere. That said, they seem to have a really well integrated online ordering system. We ordered the following, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. * Nacho Fries - I decided to order without meat (which is very odd and rare for me), and boy and I glad I did. It was an explosion of taste. The flavors blended well together, and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Absolutely delicious! * Taco Plate - chicken taco, carnitas taco, and double order of rice (instead of beans & rice) * As a side note, they offered two self-serve salsas which were both delicious. As someone who likes spice (but not crazy burn), they were not hot at all, but really added good flavor. I really appreciated how the taco plate was customized for my son without any issue. He is not a fan of beans, and he really wanted two different types of tacos. The man behind the counter took the order with no problems at all. I was eyeing their pizzas while waiting. Those look fantastic as well. They are NY style, my favorite. You can create your own, or order from a few of their "standard" offerings which all looked delicious. You can also order individual slices, but you'd better fold them in half and eat them NY style while walking out! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and give them a try (or several tries to get a sense for their wide variety).

I really enjoyed this food court and this sports bar. It's super convenient for the students and Stanford staff from all over. I ordered their jalapeño burger which was pretty big; meat patty was thick and full of juice. They also served a side of fries! This whole meal was only $6.95! Way cheaper than I expected and big in portion. Me and my co workers definitely had a good time here. I do want to come back and sip on some beer or wine while watching a football game. I'm sure it's pretty live and a fun place to be in during Stanford football games. They have a large variety of food on their menu here and the setup reminds me of Crepevine where everything is laid out on the wall (the menu). Their service is friendly and the orders come out pretty quick. I am definitely coming back!

Ordered a butter chicken bowl and realized it actually only had chicken, sauce and rice. Still pretty tasty and the portion size is pretty tasty, but I wish there could be some veggies!

Caliente es spicy! Ordered: - Spicy Burger $7.95 - Chicken Jalapeno Burger $7.50 Tina's Triggers and Thoughts - Spicy burger was super good! It has the tri-tip blend and it's seasoned beautifully with Thai chili peppers and it comes with fries! This burger comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and thousand island sauce. - Campus place is poppin'! Very hip and crowded for lunch when people come to watch the games on their flat screen TV - Owner or worker was super nice when I asked for suggestions - Cheap for me and the students! Glad to have something like this located in Tressider Union

I got 2 quesobirria tacos and 2 tacos al pastor, and visually everything looked on point -- the plating was clean, tacos looked well-stuffed, and the birria tortillas had that nice golden crisp. But once we started eating, we all felt the same thing: the salsas were lacking flavor. And with tacos like these, good salsa takes everything to the next level. Here, it kind of held them back. They only gave me two tiny lime pieces, and I couldn't even get enough juice out of them to brighten up the tacos. Something so simple, but it makes a huge difference. We also asked for chips and salsa (they're not free), and they never came. Honest mistake -- they were cool about it and took it off the bill -- but still, it added to the overall experience. Another thing: the nopales weren't well cooked or prepped. They had that slightly tough, raw texture instead of the tender, seasoned bite they should have. Flavor-wise, the pastor and birria were decent, but with weak salsa and barely any lime, it felt incomplete. All four of us agreed on the same thing: This place could be great if they tighten up their salsas and the little details. I'd give them another shot someday because the base is there -- they just need that extra punch of flavor to really elevate their tacos.

Chile Relleno! I…read morecame here for takeout at about 2 pm, since the nearby La Salsa has closed and I Yelped a few places. Parking: as others mention, there are only 2 spaces in front on San Antonio Road, I didn't know they had a back lot. It's on the same block as Chef Chu. Luckily there wasn't much traffic so I was able to back in which made leaving easy. Ambiance: nice. It was a bit warm waiting for my takeout order, they had the front door open. They also have a nice outdoor covered patio eating area in front, see the photo. Service: when I entered there were no other customers, only a bartender who didn't acknowledge me. I was about to yell out but Mariana (the name on my receipt) appeared and took my order. Food: Chile Relleno plate w black beans, rice, a small bag of fresh tortilla chips, and two kinds of mildly spicy salsa. The Poblano pepper was stuffed w cheese and had a tasty egg batter, covered w a red salsa like sauce. It was quickly devoured! Price: $17 + $1.55 tax + tip. Chile Relleno by itself is $10 I think. I would return to try other items. I had a hankering for a good Chile Relleno and was satisfied!

We were able to pull in but it was a challenge to leave - might be better to park in the back of the lot next door. SO first - their chips and salsa!! MY OH MY! crunchy homemade chips - I ended getting refill and loved their red salsa. I tried not to eat too much but it was hard. I loved the thickness with the right amount of salt and that salsa! SO GOOD and it comes out warm! So you want to eat it while warm! LOL Hubby got their Cochinito Pibli - which is a Mayan dish from yucatan. The pork is slowly braised in banana leaves, fresh fruit juices, herbs, and achiote. And served with the most delicious black beans and rice. I kept eating his beans off his plate! LOL... comes with hot tortillas. The only thing was I didn't realize you can choose, flour or corn. He probably would have preferred the corn but we got the flour. It was a VERY flavorful dish and delicious!! I got a special - their crab enchiladas. I was torn as I wanted to try another dish on their menu but thought since this was a special and crab season I'd go for the special. And I'm glad I did. They put so much crab into it and it had crunchy veggies within it so you had texture and everything wasn't just "soft". The only negative was I had to put the red salsa on top with my enchilada. Otherwise it lacked some flavor. A sauce would have been great. Overall it was a nice solid Mexican restaurant and we're glad we tried it. They have a lot of seating - a great bar with lots of offerings.
