We reserved Puesto patio seating looking for dog-friendly restaurants that wouldn't be crazy during World Cup. They had a lot of availability, and the patio is great. The 3 of us ordered two rounds of the Puesto margaritas and two tacos each. I don't love paying more than 6-7$ for a taco, but their flavors were unique and delicious. I ordered the chicken al pastor taco and grilled fish taco - the grilled fish taco was great. Also loved their margaritas. Taco Tuesday was FANTASTIC. Our waiter was super attentive and kind and kept making sure our chips and water were refilled. The tacos were amazing. I really enjoyed the prime rib taco the most. The wait staff is generally friendly and attentive, but it was confusing to be told we had a limited time at our booth when more than half the restaurant was empty. Not a great start. Their "Girl Dinner" -- $40 for a margarita, chips and guacamole, a fried fish taco, and a steak taco -- is genuinely a great value, and the food quality across that lineup was solid. Both tacos were flavorful, and the margarita was well made. One small but noticeable issue: they brought out chips and salsa to start, and the chips were cold and mostly broken pieces. Came here for their happy hour menu and right off the bat I really liked the interior of this place I love the bar seating set up where it's the table and the bars. We got a couple of shareables, the guac, esquite, chicken flautas and margs. The chicken flautas and esquite was pretty good but nothing noteworthy. The margs were a standard decide marg and I got the 3 spice level which complemented the food perfectly. The reason for docking points - 1. The server never gave us a water pitcher till the very end when we got the check 2. One of the servers came over and took our esquite we were still eating without any word...they just took it even though we had plenty left and had all our chips left to eat it. It left a bit of a shock to us and it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Parking also gets rlly crowded past 5pm it seems so that should be something to take note of. read more

Puesto has a fun, upscale ambiance with a gorgeous bar as the centerpiece of the restaurant. The food was fantastic across the board and the service was equally great. We were celebrating my sister's birthday - and since she's vegan, she wasn't able to have any of their desserts, so they surprised her with a complimentary candy shot! Came here with a small group for lunch. Overall very pleased with the food and service. Inside is very open and spacious. Pleasant atmosphere. I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically. Tacos are the emphasis here. We started with chips, salsa, and the guacamole sampler. The guacamole is very good but very pricy for the amount they give. As much as I enjoyed it I'd probably pass on getting this next time as a shareable for a group. May be appropriate for two people. The salsa was very flavorful and not overly spicy. Chips were crispy and fresh. Tacos. You can mix and match from a good selection of different kinds. They recommend ordering three but at $9 each that seems steep. Maybe big eaters could finish off three. Two tacos were more than enough for me. I had the veggie tacos. The tortillas are the stars of the show here. Usually corn tortillas are dry and flavorless. These are soft and tasty. What detracted from the dish was the amount of cheese used to envelop the taco fillings. I wasn't sure they gave me the right dish at first because the cheese masked the actual fillings. I tend to avoid salty food and the cheese came off as very salty to me. I think even a more adjusted palate would agree. The tacos could use to use less cheese as it overrides the flavor of everything else. Service was absolutely fantastic. Our server was professional and attentive. We never once had to ask for more water, chips, or salsa. He knew exactly when to clear plates. He didn't make us wait a long time for the check. He masterfully tended to us without us even knowing he was there. Our table was full of conversation and never once were we needlessly interrupted. Puesto is in a busy shopping center next to Whole Foods and I'll Fornaio. Parking wasn't an issue, though. I would wholeheartedly return. But this was for a team dinner so the budget is more relaxed haha We started off with potato taquitos - I normally don't order vegetarian dishes as I prefer the meat options, but we got this on recommendation of the waiter. It was a great call - crunchy outside, soft inside, with great dipping sauces especially the chili one that is slightly spicy I got the filet mignon and surf and turf tacos. $30 for 2 tacos before tax and tip... yikes... but these are really really delicious tacos with ingredients that just match perfectly. If I had to choose one, the filet mignon one was much more satisfying and memorable for a better price ($13). I was also eyeing the baja fish one too but I was not too hungry. I got the Cadillac which is a margarita with Grand Marnier because I wanted something strong today, and it was refreshing. I wished they still did it with the mini bottle for the aesthetics. The quality of food is unmatched for higher end Mexican. Their tacos are what you need to try. I love their filet mignon, which has a cheese blanket and all tacos are served on a blue corn tortilla. I so wish we could do partial stars. I would rather give Puesto 3.75 stars than a full four. The atmosphere is pretty hip and stylish. Definitely a more "upscale" vibe than many of my favorite Mexican spots. We sat at a bar table that was up against the bar but not serviced by the bartender. That said, it took a minute for the waiter to get to us, and when he did, he was not overly friendly or personable. We ordered drinks, a Coconut Margarita for me and a Passionfruit Margarita off the mocktail menu, made with alcohol, for my husband. Both were very tasty and well balanced...fresh fruit forward. It took another minute for our waiter to take our food order. We got the Guacamole sampler - three different "signature" guacs. The "Classic" had a nice flavor and good balance of salt and acid. The other two were unique combinations that I have not encountered before. The "Puesto Perfect" is their "Classic" with Parmigiano Reggiano added. It's a great concept, but the chunks of Parmigiano were a bit too big. It would have been more balanced if they had smaller chunks incorporated into the guacamole...especially since it is a fairly small portion size. The "Nogado" was really tasty, and I say that as someone who does not like to mix my sweet and savory. I ordered the Short Rib Quesabirria Taco and a Carintas Taco. Both were very delicious although meat on both felt "dense"...hard to explain...I like a meaty taco, but it seemed as though there were slabs of meat rather than nicely shredded meat. Still...great flavor, but should have been served hotter (a main reason I will deduct stars - hot food hot people!!) My husband and our friend shared the Enchiladas Suizas which they liked (didn't rave about), but also commented it should have been served hotter. I remember i came here a few years ago and ai would've given it a 3 star then bc I remember feeling it was a bit expensive and food was not that good but I went again recently for a company offsite and it was surprisingly good. Great venue for sports as they have 2 TVs in the bar and a large projector screen in the main dining area. Service was AMAZING! Huge shout out to Josiah, Jonathan, and Ray for taking great care of us for hours. We ended up staying at the bar vs. moving to a table because they were attentive, friendly, and fun to talk to. I didn't realize they took reservations, but after a short wait, we were seated in the bar area. They were super packed for happy hour. Happy Hour Tuesdays are half price tacos and Thursdays are half off margaritas, so understandably, lots of people were taking advantage of the discount prices. Despite being packed, the service was still super quick. They have a full bar with an excellent selection of top shelf liquor, as well as common offerings and specialty cocktails. The pork was excellent with a large piece of tender pork instead of the more typical shredded pork. The shrimp taco was very good, but more typical. In addition to tacos they have rice and beans, bowls, salads, enchiladas, and lots of appetizers to choose from. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options too. I was very impressed with Puesto. I came during lunch on a Friday so the restaurant was packed, but luckily there was some seating open at the bar. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Service was quick, we received our food 5-10 minutes after ordering. To start I got the Mexican candy shot. It was my first time trying it and it was so delicious that I got the larger version too. I started with the chips and salsa, guacamole, and esquite. The salsa was perfect, it looks like the kind my mom makes at home instead of the super tomatoey version that some restaurants use. The guacamole was extremely fresh and tasty, the freshest guacamole I've ever had. The esquite was more of a grilled corn side, but nonetheless I added more crema to make it taste like the esquite you buy on the streets. The main dishes (flautas, taco, shrimp) were fantastic: the shrimp was super fruity, but the flautas were a little too big for my liking because I prefer them with small corn tortillas rather than flour, but I still enjoyed it. Lastly, we topped it off with the churro sundae: the vanilla and caramel went together beautifully, I can only ask that we get a few more churro bits in the sundae. On the day of the event, Lindsay, Devon (I think that's his name) and the team executed everything seamlessly. I was able to truly enjoy the night without worrying about any details, which says a lot. A special thank you to Angie, Jose, and Chris. They were fantastic, very attentive, responsive with drink orders, and always present without being intrusive. Our guests had such a great experience because of them. The food was exceptional. We've had multiple guests reach out afterward saying how much they loved everything, especially the filet mignon, quesabirria tacos, and the ceviche. I also really appreciated how the team handled guest safety. They proactively let me know when one of our guests had too much to drink, and Lindsay and Angie communicated this to me as well. All were yummy and had different levels of heat. I ordered the passion fruit agua Fresca which was delightful - refreshing, not too sweet, and had strong passion fruit and pineapple flavors. Now the tacos are on the pricier side ($10-12 per taco) but they are very hefty in their portion. Two was plenty enough for me. With different proteins to choose from, these tacos are very saucy and are served on blue tortillas. I tried the filet mignon as well as the chicken pastor. Both had an extremely generous portion of meat. If you don't like a lot of sauce, I'd ask for adjustments as these were messy (but in a delicious way!). My wife and I held our Wedding Rehearsal Dinner here on 5/30/25 and it was absolutely perfect for us and our party of about 50. We fell in love with these tacos from the SD location and also wanted to treat out our closest family and friends to something special that was more than just your average taqueria/street taco. Ronnie Suarez worked closely with us to select a room that was appropriately sized for our guest count and was incredibly understanding with our guests that had families with special requests (high chairs, kids meals, etc). He helped us curate our own menu to be served and even printed custom menus which made the event even more special and unforgettable. Very nice touch! All of the food was plentiful and delicious! Each dish was vibrant in color and flavor with textures and aromas that really set the tone for an elevated taco experience. The ceviche zarandeado had a spicy kick and acidity that was well balanced by the crema. Our favorite tacos were the Filet Mignon and Carnitas because they were packed with meat that was incredibly juicy and savory. They make their blue corn tortillas fresh which you can tell by the taste and texture. Lastly, the toasted hazelnut tres leches cake was the perfect way to end the meal. The staff was so attentive and accomodating especially with those who had allergies which I appreciated. The entire communication process was smooth and I appreciate his quick yet thorough responses which made planning the event easier. The pricing in my opinion is very fair and reasonable considering the higher quality ingredients and execution of this establishment.
