Only one person ahead of me, and while all the tables were full, it didn't matter since my order was to-go. I went with a roast beef on wheat with everything except jalapeños, plus chips and a bottled water. I was a little worried it might take a while since there were people still waiting for their food at the tables--but that wasn't the case. My order came out surprisingly fast. And wow... this has to be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The wheat roll was soft, the roast beef portion was generous, and the flavor was spot-on. All the fixings--lettuce, tomato, red onion, wax peppers, pickles, mustard, mayo, vinegar, and oil--came together perfectly.

The bread got soft fast, maybe a little too soft. They were both hot sandwiches so not sure if it was from a little too much bbq sauce, juices from the meat or how it's wrapped. The brisket and ribeye were tender and juicy. I liked the Ribeye a little more since it had mushrooms, bell peppers and onion. I would have liked the bread to be more toasty since we ate the sandwiches there. But, that's my preference; I love more texture in my food. Loved the variety of sausages, brats and beef sticks that we got. The bacon was a lot thinner than we're used to. We bought lots of their dry Wolfsen's seasoning since it's one of my bf's favorites! I loved that the beef sticks that weren't too oily and very tasty. I wish we had gotten more of them! The sausages were so flavorful!! We tried them in a variety of dishes. We really liked the Smoked Blueberry Bratwurst, Smoked Andouille Sausage, Smoked Chuckwagon sausage, Cajun Style Smoked Sausage and Smoked German Pork Sausage.

We finally got the chance to check it out. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The Prunedale Market is located along side the highway 101 freeway in the small town of Prunedale. It just takes a few long right turns to get there. Parking is easy and accessible out in the front parking lot. From the front, the market does not look like a popular BBQ spot. It looks like a simple small market store to grab quick snacks and drinks. Once inside there is a BBQ and deli section to your right. A small dining area is to your left. The decor is old fashioned and quaint. The 2 gentlemen greet you with friendly hospitality. We ordered the Tri tip sandwich, half slab of ribs which includes 2 potatoes and a cup of corn chowder. The pit master/owner Martin, who use to work for Original Joe's, was kind enough to also include a quarter chicken leg, a sausage, and extra ribs. It was so much food for our party of 3. Everything was delicious and hearty. The Tri tip sandwich was scrumptious with the flaming Fritos adding a nice crunchy texture and kick with every bite. The ribs were juicy and smokey. Potatoes complemented very well with the rest of the meat and chicken. Corn chowder was so tasty and creamy. I did not know corn chowder was that good. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Prunedale Market. The staff were super nice and accommodating. They even offered for our son to grab some free ice cream to go. We politely declined. Businesses have every right to sell out of items, but telling a customer that nothing is available while continuing to serve others is unacceptable. Until this business addresses how it treats all customers with respect and fairness, I cannot recommend supporting it.
