First off: this place is a little out of the way. Also the google maps street view doesn't show anything there as of this writing. BUT.. It does exist and is well worth the trip. Service was fast and friendly. The food delivered was fantastic; the tritip on all three of our plates was amazing. I ordered the Balli cheese tritip sandwich and that did it for me. I'm ordering it again if I find myself in these parts in the future. The salad my sister ordered was a mix of fruit and veggies that I wouldn't have thought weird but was actually awesome. My boss and co worker just brought tri-tip sandwiches back to the office for lunch. The BEST tri-tip sandwich I have EVER had in my life. Hands down. How have I never heard of this place??? Besides the meat being flavored to perfection, the bun stands out as well; buttered and grilled with some sort of delicious garlic butter concoction. And the side of BBQ sauce. The SAUCE!!! Today I went with my mother and 94 year old grandpa here. I got the Texan sandwich that came on Texas toast and avocado. I got the "meal" which came with a side. I chose the Mac and cheese which was also delicious. You always know it's made with good cheese when the plate has the oily residue from melted cheese. The tri tip sandwich was great! The meat was perfectly tender and full of flavor. The machines that my mom and grandpa had had a pepper sauce on them that was supposed to be mild. It it had a bit of a kick in my opinion. They were tasty. The service was great! The cashier was super friendly and helped us to get the heater going because it was a bit chilly at first. Great little place, tucked in a little country town of Ballico. Been here a couple of times and my and I never disappointed. Love their BBQ sauces are good and so is their desserts. Just assume the menu is good, because it is! My only complaint is that I wish they had beer on tap from Dust Bowl or Sierra Nevad etc. They have good beer in bottles just no tap. Best kept secret on Santa Fe. They are opening another location on HWY 120 in the Escalon area too. Which is great for me because I work in that area. read more

After all the radio hype, thought this would be a great place to try. As much as I like to support local businesses, this place did not impress me one bit. A tri tip sandwich, where was the tri tip? The bread however was very good, the can of soda (no ice) was somewhat cold, but very little meat. Staff was friendly, place was clean, but for $12.00 I expect a little more. We had heard a few good things about this place. We live in Ballico so we thought we would give it a shot. It's all outdoors and on fake turf with picnic benches. Looks clean and friendly and well organized. We placed our order and for some reason even though the ranch salad was listed as a side I was told I had to order it as a main dish. I went ahead and ordered it as they requested along with the Texan. I received the Texan which right away I was a little unimpressed with. The Garlic toast was only the size of small sandwich bread. Not the big size you would expect at this price. The four of us went to dig in and realized the meat was cold on all of our sandwiches. I paid $75 for small sandwiches and cold meat that left us unfulfilled at the end. The only reason it's a 2 star is the friendliness of the staff and even though the meat was cold I could tell if it had been warm it would have been good. read more

My boyfriend and I got takeout a couple of weeks ago and I must say I was disappointed. I had ordered the harvest salad & my boyfriend had the tri-tip sandwich. My salad was half the size it used to be plus it was made with iceberg lettuce not the spring greens plus i did not receive any dressing. Definitely not worth the $10 I paid for it!! My boyfriend asked if he could add provolone cheese to his sandwich & he was given American cheese I'm sorry but the two don't go together. This used to be one of my favorite local spots since they opened, would come weekly when I lived closer. Had a craving so decided to make the trip out. My husbands favorite was always the 50/50 the portions are smaller now, less meat and a smaller bun, I got my favorite loaded fries and the same not as much meat. My daughter ordered a grilled cheese. It came out cold, cheese was still hard not melted at all. When we brought it to the attention of the employee she pushed a refund vs correcting the issue. Ultimately we had it remade, We also Ordered the special of the day which I was the fish tacos, again the portion was small. The fish was barely bite size pieces, the produce did not seem fresh. I feel like this location is now a second thought to the owners since opening their food truck and 120 location.
