The people around me ordered food, which looked abundant in portion size and smelled great (apparently they were fans). I will say its super weird that it's Thai food and not what i would associate with sitting down and watching a show; but i get it. I'm noticing that the owners watch the Yelp reviews hopefully I can share some advice: While i understand that it's easy to attach to the Thai adjacent to you, i can't help but wonder how many people skip on food given the peculiar offering (I personally passed.). I feel people would be less critical and happier (assumptions here) with American-Thai-Fusion. Thai Tacos, Sliders, Thai Poutine, (for god sake) a pad thai, etc. Something approachable more conducive to sharing and small bites. Missed business opportunity: The waitress came by with the bill and last call - I saw a lot (me included) of people pass on last call and go for their bill. I can help but wonder how different it would be if the waitress came by without a bill in hand and asked for last call. Though I'm not sure if this was intentional to let the bar staff clean up? Lastly, give an opportunity to purchase merch' through the waitress. I know most if not all of this goes to the band, but this would ad another level of polish to an already polished experience. read more

The venue itself was really cool for live music. The service, however, was the worst I've ever seen. and that was all layers of the establishment from the bar upstairs to the venue downstairs. Permeated horribly slow bad service. there would have to be a very good band for me to ever show up there again. And I will eat at home before I go. read more

Cute atmosphere. The show was great but the food was okay. We saw Shane Koyczan last year who is a spoke word artist. The seats were great and very intimate. It felt awkward with the clinking of silverware in that quiet environment. Wouldn't see the dinner and a show working better during a musical or comedy act. read more

Will NOT recommend coming here.. my family and friends will also not be coming here as well. The service was subpar. The 1st greeting we got from the cashier was an unenthusiastic from the corner of the table saying "hello, will call is over there." This is our first time coming to this establishment so naturally we have questions regarding the ticket and what we were to expect. When asked these question more than twice the cashier began to have an attitude (that should have been my 1st sign to just ask for the manager, or ask for refund). We then went to "will call" and enjoyed the music (that was the best part).. After a while it was time to go in the box office. On the online purchases tickets it states that "bypass the line to go directly into the theater to be seated." My husband asked the box office manager at the front what that entailed and whether or not there was a line to bypass it. She wasnt listening to a thing he was saying and began to grow irate as my husband was trying to ask her multiple times what that all meant. She then turned around and had the audacity to ask "is he being serious?!" To me... I get it it's frustrating to have someone ask more than once a question but as a person who works in a customer service industry humility and understanding is needed when people have questions. My husband did say that she "sucked" at her job but personally they all were horrible at it. They then proceeded to keep making it a big deal after my husband walked away, and later showed them the email, the girls kept pushing and demanding for him to get kicked out. The cashier took it upon herself to chime in and say we have the right to refuse service. All while in my mind all I could think of was "are they being serious right now?!" The manager was brought and was listening to our side of the story, but then proceeded to say that's only our side of the story, and how would I have dealt with that kind of stituation... amateurs.. it never would have gotten to that point personally had it been myself... needless to say they gave us the option in the end to get a refund or stay and watch. We chose to leave as I was let down by their distasteful attitudes from their employees. Word of mouth definitely goes a long way, and none of my people will be visiting this establishment. I suggest people to look more into the reviews on here as I am not the only person who experienced this horrible service. They need to go through some serious customer service training as they lack in that department. Also, they need to make some serious changes to that email as it was apparent that people gave them some hard time (they also were well aware of the email and stated that they constantly get flack from customers). read more

Especially the burlesque ones, I have been to the Land of the Sweets for the last 4 years in a row and already have tickets for this December as well as my second trip to see This is Halloween in October! They have other fun ones like the Absinthe one and Alice in Wonderland. Missed Thanksgiving when they had it, but maybe next time! The food is pretty overpriced and not really worth it. Every time I come to Seattle, I make an effort to come to the Musiquarium at the Triple Door. (Disclaimer: I've yet to see a show on the main stage, this review is only of the lounge). The MQ has no cover, great drinks/service, live jazz every night, and an old school chill vibe (reminds me a little of the infamous Green Mill in Chicago!) I recommend making a night of it...go see a show at 5th Ave or dinner at Purple Wine Bar around the corner, then come here for after dinner drinks and jazz. It's a beloved Seattle institution well worth checking out! read more

The Triple Door is two venues in one. The musiquarium out front has a bar and frequently a band. A nice place to chill and catch some music. Deeper in and down the steps is the main theater. I've heard a number of concerts here and always find the sound well dispersed. It's a seated environment. There's good space between the tables. A lot more space than you're likely to get at some of the other venues. Food and drink available in the venue. I like the venue but just wish there were more bands here that I'm interested in. read more

There was a error with their system and I received the absolute rudest email from The Triple Door saying they are canceling my tickets. I will never attend another show there. Awesome venue for all kinds of music performances, all while enjoying top notch food options from the full dining menu and full bar. I have enjoyed every performer I have seen here from blue-grass, folk, jazz, and modern artists. The hostesses have always been friendly and found us good seats, even when we were a few minutes late when we couldn't find parking! The servers here are attentive and always get in orders in quickly so you aren't starving for half the show. Options on the menu are varied and fit every budget. Looking forward to when they can invite people back into this space for live shows. Oh how I miss live music! Note there isn't much street parking right around this venue but there are several parking garages including Target (free with purchase). read more

3 stars only for lack of management getting involved with two very early 20 year old's ruining the Atomic Bombshells Valentines weekend show. All these two selfless brats did was talk and text through the entire 2 hour show and we were all sitting in the very front row! My fiancé asked them to stop talking and texting and the response was..."We paid money for these tickets too"..."he said exactly, so shut up and watch the show!" They stopped for maybe 10 minutes. I then told the server what was going on, she watched them and said, ok I'll go let my manager know and tell you what can happen after. She came back and said the manager wouldn't do anything unless it got "out of control" not sure what that meant but you're going to offer the two of different seats in the back of the house but let these brats continuously disrespect the performers!? That's really crappy...the only solace I got out of all this besides two comp'd drinks was one of the Boylesque dancers gyrated in the little boys faces for a good 7 minutes..I'm sure he saw what was going on and thought he could help. Sure they squirmed a little and got slightly embarrassed but when it was over they went back to, you guessed it...talking and texting! Do not recommend, smells bad, homelessness everywhere around the building, not a very safe environment, heavy drug use and people passed out all around the venue. I attended the show This Is Halloween which is was FANTASTIC. The dancers were amazing, the singers were on pitch, and the orchestra was in tune and playing in perfect harmony! However, my review is not about the performance but instead about the lack of service and attentiveness there is to their attendees. The line to get in moved very quickly through some double doors on the left side, everyone was a single file line with one person taking tickets and passing off to the servers. People started cutting and going through the doors on the right side and no one was doing anything or saying anything about it which was annoying. I personally didn't get cut but I know that the group behind me did. Once we got seated everything was fine, just waiting for the show. Our server came by pretty quickly after we were seated to ask for our drinks and food - I just wanted curry fries as a snack and opted for water. He took my order and left but 20 minutes later, after the show started, cake back and said that he had lost my ticket and needed to know what I ordered again. Really?? So again, it was fine, things happen and I let it go. By the time intermission rolled around, I still hadn't received my fries. I flagged him down (which was extremely difficult to do) and asked him if the fries were still on it's way, and he gave me this annoyed look, saying yes I was still getting it. It was literally 40 minutes before they gave me my stupid fries and on top of that they messed up my order and gave me plain fries rather than the curry fries that I ordered. I'm not a difficult person to please and I usually don't have issues with my order getting messed up but as many of the reviews on here have stated, their customer service is reallllly bad and needs to be worked on and I probably won't be back here for another show. read more

After years of wanting to go, our friends invited us to a show at The Triple Door. We got there early and had some fantastic drinks and apps in their bar area which offers a variety of seating options. Then when we were allowed in, we found our seats. Our show was FABULOUS. The venue was larger than I'd anticipated and we had a great corner both. The staff was friendly, and we loved the option to be served throughout the show. I'd recommend coming here for any shows that are of interest to you! read more

This is a review of the restaurant - not the music venue (The Triple Door is an intimate venue and is still my favorite place to listen to live music in Seattle). The Triple Door recently started a new menu, distinct from Wild Ginger. Last night, we went to hear David Bromberg, and experienced the new menu for the first time. While some things were good (the drinks, the gyoza, the desserts), much of the food was unacceptably salty and therefore essentially unpalatable (oh you could eat it, but I regretted doing so). Their attempt to branch out from Wild Ginger is a complete belly flop - but not for the reasons one might expect - but rather, just that the food was just way too salty. The side dish of snow peas and mushrooms was so salty that I suspect that it alone (and it's not a large dish), exceeded the recommended daily sodium intake for an adult. It is shockingly salty. Other dishes were very salty too - way too salty. It's a surprising misstep on the part of the Triple Door. Message to the Triple Door management: Please dramatically reduce the sodium content of your sauces - the salt content is EXCESSIVE. My recommendation to patrons of the Triple Door: Until they address this issue, eat somewhere else before you come - and bypass the dishes with Chinese sauces at the Triple Door. Keep your purchases to gyoza or satay or dessert and drinks. read more

Hands down my favorite spot in Seattle (so far!). They had an amazing live band (Johnny 7 and The Black Crabs) that has all original music. I was a little skeptical on trying the food cuz the word "Curry" makes me nervous(hahah) but OH MY GOODNESS!!! You MUST try the Curry fries and the chicken skewers, soooooo GOOD! Also, the serves was VERY nice and helpful! Bartenders REALLY know how to make a drink. Definitely plan to go back but this time we'll be going down stairs to the THEATRE for more live music. I absolutely love this place! I came for the Alice Through the Looking Glass show and it was perfect. It was a quality show put on in a nice environment. The staff was super helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend the Pad Thai and the pork belly sliders. Before the show started me and my friend had drinks and listened to live music in the lounge area. It's a nice large bar area with a sorta romantic feel. Was initially disappointed that I had a glass wall separating us from the stage, but realized we could have fun to stand up and dance up there as opposed to more stoic sitting down below. The Triple Door is my #1 venue of choice. I like having an up close and personal show while I'm sitting back and eating satay. It's true the food is a bit pricy and it's true that the service can be kind of spotty, but it's easy to be patient in this beautiful venue where you can actually see the musicians' faces clearly. Stopped in the Musiquarium Lounge of the Triple Door and while service at the bar was excellent, this place just seems to have some identity issues. Loved the organ trio the night we were there, put me right back in Memphis! Wish they didn't have to set up on the floor though, like music was an afterthought. The Lounge seems to have a bit of schizophrenia about seating areas- would you like a secluded booth, a four top, a leather couch, a table to stand around? We can't be all things to all people or we're nothing to ourselves! Figure it out and call me, Musiquarium! They serve food from the Wild Ginger here, and it smelled heavenly. Served one of my favorite IPAs on my Seattle trip, their extensive wine and beer list is impressive. Good for a pop-in with friends or a nightcap. read more

I come to the Triple Door for the sound. Every show I've been to here has exquisite sound. Mediocre bands sound great and great bands sound INCREDIBLE. Drinks are average city-prices, about $10 each, but you can usually find a special of a shot and a beer for the same price. It takes a little perusing but the goods are there. The dinner menu is on the pricey side but again, you can make a meal of the apps for even less. We've had 3-4 star food the last couple times we've gone, so we might just eat elsewhere next time and save our $$ for the band merchandise. The seating is comfortable but super tight, especially if you're not sharing a booth. A booth of four people is the magic, because you've got room to breathe and elbow room to raise the roof. There is no dancing here but it's a civilized atmosphere, full of grown-ups slinging martini glasses and PBR out of the can and in a glass, a real glass! read more

It's Friday morning and I can't stop farting. I'm not talking small, hope nobody notices, farts. No, I'm talking extended, soul-crushing, empty the entire Metro bus level farts. Yep, I ate at The Triple Door again last night. If you read my original review of The Triple Door, you would surely be asking, "Why? You hate the food there. Why would you eat there again?" Believe me, it wasn't a part of the plan, but unfortunately I simply ran out of time before leaving the house. Even after arriving I had no intention of ordering food, but then the hunger hit me and my judgment went out the door. If this were a review of my judgment, it would surely be 1-star. As it is, The Triple Door benefits from being not just a "restaurant", but also a concert hall, which plays to the venue's advantage. My original review was a 2.5 that I rounded up to 3. This time I'm rounding down to 2. Back to the food. I scanned the menu with deep suspicion. Fool me once, twice, three times, shame on you. Fool me a fourth or fifth time, shame on me. Could I navigate to something that wasn't horrible? I knew from previous experience to stay away from the overpriced and minuscule meat servings. Pad Thai? Hmmm...no. Thai Passion Tofu? Fried tofu, eggplant, soy sauce, kafir lime leaf and basil. Well that sounds promising. (I'm an idiot.) I asked our server the difference between the $10 serving and the $14 serving. She informed me that the $10 serving was 5 ounces and the $14 serving 8 ounces. (I think that's right.) I was honestly a bit stunned. With the exception of steak, I'm not sure I've ever had food portions provided to me in ounces. Am I supposed to know what that means in relation to a dinner serving? Is one a salad plate and one a dinner plate? Bizarre. But, the difference was only $4 so I opted for the large serving. As the food arrived, I was pleased with the presentation and the size of the serving and felt a rush of optimism sweep over me. (I'm an idiot.) The first few, even several bites were fine. But soon, I was overwhelmed by the extreme over-seasoning of the dish. To be fair, both the tofu and eggplant were fried perfectly, but before long the thought of taking another bite made me want to barf. Seriously, is this sauce something they picked up in bulk at Grocery Outlet?? Enough said. Next time I'm hitting the hot dog cart outside the Showbox before entering The Triple Door. A quick paragraph on The Triple Door as a show venue. It is a beautiful room and not a bad seat in the house. For non-participatory shows (e.g. burlesque, comedy, recital) it's great. But, I can't imagine for the life of me why a band would want to play to an audience of people sitting in booths and eating dinner. As an example the band Living Colour is a rocking, get up on your feet and get down band. They are playing the Triple Door 9/29/14. Really? Do you want to listen to Corey Glover belt out Cult of Personality while dining on Young Mountain Lamb satay? Me either--and that seriously bums me out. Maybe I'll road trip to Portland. read more

The start of the evening was phenomenal. My husband and I have planned the perfect date night. we got there 30 minutes early and wete seated right away. I had reserved a booth. I reserved a booth for my husband and I because I get anxiety and I don't like to sit next to other people in a crowded establishment, I also wanted to be cozy with my husband as we watched the show. We order our food it's really good. The music is playing, we are comfortable and out-of-nowhere a server comes over and says " got two more here for you" and moves our food and drinks over and makes us move over....in the booth that I reserved!!!! I was livid. I went back on the website and no where on the website does it say that you will be sharing a booth. The website says the booth seats 4, I'm assuming no more than 4 people can sit in that booth. I've never been to an establishment where I can reserve a booth and have two strangers sitting next to us. We immediately asked for our checks and walked out as I cried. when reserving a ticket if you share the booth and that's the policy you need to have that stated on the website I would have paid the extra 40 to 80 bucks to reserve the entire booth if I would have known. On my first night of our Seattle weekend, we decided to take a short walk and find a place close to the W Hotel for dinner. After a few blocks north, we stumbled upon the Triple Door. Checking my Yelp app, I noticed the good reviews, so we decided to come on in. Walking into the joint, It was almost like an underground lounge. There was neon lighting around the bar, a stage area with eclectic live music. On the night we visited there was a French singer and other folklore type music, which seemed to make us feel at ease. Sabra was our server and in my opinion below average. She wasn't very helpful when it came to recommendations and super slow. We literally waited almost 20 mins just for our drinks (18 minutes to be exact). During our meal, we asked for chopsticks and got it 10 minutes later. At the end of our evening, she brought the check and split it without asking us (which was cool), however, only brought one of our 3 person checks. Kind of a fail. As for my meal, we stumbled upon happy hour prices. Here's what I got: -Angkor wat chicken bowl for $8.50. Chicken breast, wok fried with aromatic herbs, spicy black beans, red and green peppers and onion. This dish was packed with flavor: black beans brought a salty element along with soy sauce. The onions and peppers presented a nice crunch texture. Overall, I'd say the dish is a pretty spicy one! -Pot stickers, 3 per order, for $5. Chicken pot stickers fried inhouse and served with a black vinegar dipping sauce. These were fat and packed with chicken filling, onions and herbs. Soy/vinegar dipping sauce had a bit of fish sauce in it and helped to elevate the dish. -The duck sliders, 3 per order, for $5. Bao style sliders, duck crusted with sweet peppercorn and topped with a sweet plum sauce. This was easily my favorite dish of the evening. The duck had a nice crusty skin, great flavor and the sweet plum sauce helped to tie the overall dish together. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. -The Rotating local draft beer for $4. Our server mentioned it being a locally brewed beer. It was pretty heavy with a slight maple note to it. Delicious take of a light amber. The food was great, the ambiance was nice. I think if you're in the downtown area, you really should come by and try this place out. Happy hour will save you a lot of money and allow you to pass around some plates to share within your party. I have mixed feelings about the Triple even though it's my fave venue. It's elegant, acoustically sound, and there isn't a bad seat in the house-- well, except for table #237. Recently, after a year or so hiatus, I treated a friend to the music of Mary Gauthier (an amazing songwriter/poet/raconteur). I wasn't aware that the Triple had gone to tiered pricing-- it used to be general admission- first come, first served. Used to be very democratic. Now, they have consider the front section "VIP Seating" and sell it at a premium. When you add on the "Convenience fee" (convenient for whom??) of 5$ per ticket-- it's just starting to feel a bit greedy. Not realizing the seating policies had changed, I waited too long to book tickets and got stuck with table #237. Table #237 is sold as a 4 person table--which means if you are a party of 2, they will seat another party of 2. However, the awkwardness of the seating (you have to see it) should really place #237 as a 2 person table. The other couple, and my friend & I were a bit distressed at the proposed setup. (Three of us would need to sit across from 1 person...) I asked to speak to the manager. This review would be a 5 star if based on the bar manager's response. He pulled some strings and seated us in a box above the stage. Nice guy-- went to some trouble to successfully re-seat us. All-in-all a nice night, but did leave a bad taste in my mouth for the changed policies. read more

I had been in the top level bar before I just never made it downstairs for a actual show. We had a great night and I just wanted to log in and give it 5 stars. :) Fantastic views from all the seats, great sound quality, expert staff, awesome wine list, tasty drinks, ok food.. just a lil pricey to me but the lamb skewers really stood out as the best item I had here. Everyone in Seattle should attend a show here at least once, it is worth the splurge for a special occasion live music act for sure. I can't wait to return some evening. What a great show and experience! I've been to the Musicquarium at Triple Door so many times but never have I attended a show...until tonight. I admit, I didn't even know the separate stage downstairs existed, I always just assumed the events were in the Musicquarium. Goes to show how much I know. I'm such a big fan of Triple Door even moreso right now! I went to see Les Nubians and absolutely loved, loved this venue for this kind of show! It could not have been anymore perfect as you were able to order dinner and drinks right at your table while watching the show. Triple door has a fabulous jazzy, sophisticated feel to it - dim lights, intimate setting, candlelit tables, very polished, well maintained and no matter where you are seated you have clear visibility to the stage and performers. That's so rare at most places. We ordered dinner which came from Wild Ginger upstairs. It seems the menu contains a subset of what the restaurant offers and I enjoyed my Tofu Passion entree quite a bit! I now have Triple Door on my radar and can't wait to come back! This is the perfect venue to see a show or your favorite up and coming artists! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! My buddy and I went to see Jonathan Coulton with Paul and Storm During Emerald City Comicon. Buying tickets was easy via the Triple Door web site. They map out the sections so you can pick seats from what is available. We arrived with our printed ticket about 30 minutes prior to showtime. There was a bit of a line to get in. I'm pretty sure everyone had tickets. It takes some time to get to your table as the servers take you right to it and seat you. We ordered a couple of drinks and they arrived within 15 minutes. Not bad considering the packed house and the servers had plenty of tables! During the show, we ordered some ice cream and Irish Coffees since we had dinner before we got there. They also arrived within 15 minutes. The drinks were good and prices fair. The servers were all very courteous and full of personality! There really isn't a bad seat in the house with the exception of directly on the sides of the stage. But even there, you have a good view of the show and are close to the action. After the show, there was a bit of a line to buy swag from the act, but they filed everyone through pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend seeing a show at the Triple Door! I tell you what. This place is a class act! Burlesque and all! Saw Alice Through the Looking Glass and it was charmingly wonderful. The acoustics are outstanding. The stage is very thought out. The lighting was just right. We were hungry and ordered a ton of their food. Buddah rolls (vegetarian), pad thai with shrimp, Monk's curry dish and papaya salad. They give you plenty of food and we did not finish it all but it was a fun food orgy just the same. They could be a little spicier but we just got some of their homemade spicy sauce and it made up for it. I do have to mention the dessert we had. It was a cardamom/pomegranate/grapefruit/coconut flan. Believe it or not, all the flavors were delicate and went together fabulously.. it was heavenly. Just love going here and getting entertained. Excellent music venue. Attended the Mat Kearney show last night, which was amazing. Second time here. It is a very classy space. The stage is very intimate. It kinds of gives off this VH1 Storytellers vibe to it. Previously saw Adele here and the fact that both shows were acoustic affairs made the relationship between the artist and the audience so much better than concerts I have attended in larger spaces. With intimacy, I think performers are much more expressive and chatty which makes the performance that much more entertaining. The fact that you can enjoy a nice dinner and a show is definitely a plus. If the menu offered here is not to your liking, it is nice that you do not have to. You can just partake in the show. If you do, the food served here comes from the kitchen of Wild Ginger next door. The menu skews primarily Thai, though it is described as Asian Fusion. The food is good, though pricey. Ordered primarily from the specials menu. Had the small plate lamb randang curry ($16), a pot of keemun tea ($2.75) and a piece of passion fruit chiffon cake ($7.50). Lamb randang curry is really good, though slight. The lamb was flavorful and tender. Interestingly tasted like beef stew which is a bit curious. The keemun was very bold and some of the best that I have tried. Strong and distinctive. A good palate clearer. As for the passion fruit chiffon cake, simply sinfully indulgent. Nothing is better than listening to good music while having a meal of equal achievement. Service is good. I like that staff have it down pat of when to come by. It could be a dampener if service was obtrusive, but it was not. Music and food is why I come here. And there is no venue in Seattle like the Triple Door. The combination of music and food in one place is the best of both worlds. read more

What a great venue this is. When we walked in and took our seats I was reminded of similar venues in Las Vegas. The tables are configured in a half shell sequence allowing all the people at the table to face forward. No one has to crane their neck to see anything and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The dinner menu had something for everyone, from the carnivore all the way to the vegetarian. I had the Rama Setu. Named for the ancient land bridge that connects India and Sri Lanka; this red curry evokes the flavor of those countries. Eggplant, hard spiced tofu, sweet potato, daikon, red onion, and curry leaf. It was absolutely scrumptious and they even gave you the option of brown rice. The service in the theater was excellent and she didn't miss a trick. She went out of her way to accommodate our every need and I seriously appreciate that. When you go to a concert oftentimes the volume is so loud that you have to use cotton wads just to avoid the pain of it all. Not here. Volume was perfect. Pre show drinks in the bar were excellent. As a first timer I don't have anything bad to say about the place except for the fact that the line nearly went out the door into the frigid weather. And now for the plug.
