I LOVE pineapple upside cake so I had to try this new limited time dessert Pineapple Upside Down Dole Whip. It was really good. There was cake in the bottom of the cup with sauce drizzled inside the cup and filled with dole whip and topped with a scoop of cake crumbles and pineapple chunks. The pineapple chunks were like from a pie filling not fresh so it made it a little overwhelming. But overall it was a great variation of my favorite dessert.

We stopped in after an evening trip to Disneyland. They offer seasonal flavors in addition to the traditional pineapple dole whip. When we stopped in they had pineapple, strawberry, and peach. We decided to try the peach and were not disappointed. The peach had a light flavor that was perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating can be limited in this area, but there's plenty of space in surrounding areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
When it's hot at the happiest place on Earth, the dole whip comes in clutch every single time. This was definitely much needed and was the best thing I had on my most recent visit. Super refreshing and light. You could never go wrong with dole whip!!! Strawberry and pineapple swirl = super yummy! Mine was gone in 2.5 seconds.
Maybe now that I've had pineapple frozen yogurt everywhere in the Bay Area, this doesn't quite hit the same as it used to. I got the pineapple and strawberry flat which is basically their soft serve over pineapple juice and just wound up drinking the pineapple juice because the frozen yogurt was way too sweet and artificial for me. Especially the strawberry one. Couldn't enjoy it, and when I gave some to my group they didn't like it either.

This time we tried the strawberry and peach swirl and it was sooo good. I'm a huge fan of peach, so it ended up being my favorite. We also ordered the pork baos, which were my daughter's favorite of the day. I tried the shrimp and chive bao. The flavor was really good, especially with the sauce, but I felt it was a little heavy on the green onion and didn't have as much shrimp as I expected. Especially in hot weather, the original pineapple dole whip is refreshing, cooling, and the perfect bite of slightly tart, smooth creamy sweetness. Though I often gravitate towards the classic dole whip it is fun to change it up with their fun seasonal offerings from time to time. For those who seek a savory snack, they do offer lumpia and bao as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a shaded seating area with tables for you to take rest your feet as you enjoy your treats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The one downside is the lines can get a bit long though it does move at a decent rate!
When in Disneyland, definitely need to get myself a pineapple dole whip! Pineapple dole is one of the most popular dessert in the park. Located in Adventureland. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have many seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My boyfriend never had a dole whip so he was in for a treat. I got myself the pineapple upside down sundae as part of their 70th anniversary menu. The sundae consists of pineapple dole whip, caramel drizzle and pineapple upside-down cake, topped with a Maraschino Cherry. The sundae was huge. It is shareable. Pineapple dole was good as usual. Cake was a bit on the harder side. Caramel drizzle was on the sweeter side but a nice touch. Mobile order is not an option.

Update: 7/7/26 Another visit to Tropical Hideaway for refreshing treats. The line was moderately long but the service was fast. Dole Whip Float - 5/5 A nice blend of pineapple juice with Dole Whip. Akin to a tropical "root beer" float. Very refreshing. Dole Upside down cake - 5/5 For a limited time, you can order this treat. You'll get a cup with a small cut of cake on the bottom, filled with Dole Whip with sprinkles of caramel crunch. Very good dessert. I always like to go here for the Dole Whip, of course. So visited twice on two different days. 1st visit, I quick ordered via app and went through express line. I had the pineapple dole whip. 2nd visit/2nd day, I stood in line because I wanted the food; lumpia and bao. And this time order strawberry, pineapple dole whip float. Not sure why food isnt on the mobile order but its okay, line moved fast. I appreciate they've made more asian/filipino food available however, my lumpia was burnt and very greasy. They may want to work on that a bit. Bao was surprisingly good. No matter what, I'll always stopby to get dole whip...so delicious! read more
This is a good place to stop when you something cool and sweet. On this day I had the Pineapple Upside Sundae and it was really good. Lots of pineapple sweet chunks, carmel, and pineapple soft serve. To eat we tried their lumpia, potstickers, and Chicken-Lime Bao. All three were good and made for a nice lunch. Tried the dole whip and was happy to know they are gluten and dairy free! We got the peach and strawberry dole whip. It was quite delicious with strong peach flavor. We love it a lot . However the inside had a huge hole. If they are charging more than $7 each one, they shouldn't skip on that IMH! My hubby got the float with pineapple and strawberry. The pineapple flavor is quite sour to my taste but it's very refreshing if you like pineapple. I ordered another peach & strawberry since the first one was kinda small and this time, the gentleman gave us more ! There was still a hole inside but not as big. I hope they would not skim on that since $7 ish is not cheap for a frozen dessert read more

The Tropical Hideaway never disappoints with their specialty Dole Whips and Floats. This time Tropical Hideaway had their seasonal flavor of Pineapple and Peach. It was so good. It wasn't too sweet nor too tangy. It was the perfect balance of sweet and tart with some zest. On our next visit I would like to try the Peach Sundae. I never understood the line for Dole whip at Disneyland, but my recent visit proved me wrong. Though the line appears daunting, it moves reasonably fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you manage to find a table, it's a nice place to rest and chat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The theming, of course, is well done and immersive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were three seasonal flavors of Dole whip available, pineapple, peach, and strawberry. We ordered different combinations of all three. My favorite had to be the peach Dole whip, which managed to perfectly emulate the flavor of Peach Rings. We also tried a handful of the savory items, which, for the most part, exceeded my expectations. The char siu bao was soft and fluffy. The char siu filling was perfect - slightly sweet and tender. The lumpia, which I did not have high hopes for, tasted fresh with a crispy exterior and a piping hot flavorful inside. The shrimp and chives potstickers, however, were by far the worst item on the menu. They tasted like something you'd defrost from the freezer section of a mid-tier grocery store. They were bland. They were not juicy. I wish that the bottoms were seared or something because they needed something to make them interesting, which is ridiculous because at nearly $10, the potstickers are one of the most expensive items on the menu. One of the treats I love to get at Disneyland is Dole whip. I usually get it at the Tiki Juice Bar but they were closing up when we got there. The employee suggested for us to go to the Tropical Hideaway to get our Dole Whip. There was a bit of a line but I was determined and to my surprise there were other flavors of Dole whip, like strawberry and peach or you can get it swirl. I just opted for the pineapple since that's my favorite! They have other snacks too like chips and drinks. A must do! I visit first thing in the morning after grabbing bengal bbq. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's so peaceful and relaxing in the morning and they open at park opening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This time I ordered a swirl with the pineapple and strawberry. So good and fresh! The bao's are super good too! The Baseline: For theme park to-go food stands the food must be tasty, have an experience, reliable service, and be a part of the experience. Food: You are here for the Dole Whips! There are other items but I repeat... you are here for the Dole Whips. This visit was the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Dole Whips. WOW! Just... Wow! Best Dole Whip I ever had hands down. Little cakes bites with strong and awesome pineapple flavor. This is the stuff that will make me fat again. Love this and Disney please keep this on the menu. Service: Disney cast member service is super top notch service. Compliment you cast members on the Disneyland app as that is the Disney way to tip at non-sit down restaurants. Ambiance: Tropical Hawaii feels next to the Jungle Cruise with Fifi talking to you from her perch. Pure Disney magical feeling and it is great to be here at night with the tiki torches blazin'. The Tropical Hideaway is our go-to spot at Disneyland to eat soft serve, sit, relax, and enjoy the tropical ambiance. The only thing is it's sometimes hard to find a table when it's busy. People tend to sit at tables well before getting their food, leaving others already with their food without a table. But other than that, it's always a treat when we stop by! I really like the mango chamoy and mango strawberry swirl. Would definitely get again. read more

This Disney dessert spot is iconic. I always like to try their seasonal Dole whip sundaes, and it never disappoints. And now that it's summer, you have to come cool off with their classic Dole pineapple whip! You won't regret it. The line can look long, but they are efficient and it gets moving. You order at the counter, and there are plenty of seating. read more
4+ small food area that feels like an outdoor cafeteria style ordering and purchasing (you wait in line to order food items and you take your tray to pay at a register). Also home to the famous Dole Whip within Disneyland. The people who gave us the food to the cashiers were all really friendly (pretty standard at Disneyland!) I've actually been here a while ago and I think I made a mistake by ordering the Dole Whip float the first time because I thought that was the 'thing to order' here. No disrespect, but I thought it was too sugary/sweet with the pineapple juice and soft serve for me. Glad I tried this place again and just stuck with the Dole Whip. I also ordered one of the baos as a snack. So now I'm for sure a fan of the Dole Whip (soft serve alone) and lime chicken bao was tasty. We had a large breakfast as part of my company picnic and our group had dinner plans outside of the park, so I didn't want to order or have a large meal for lunch. We also arrived a little after 1pm. The area was still crowded, but the line moved fairly quickly and we were really luck to grab a table as soon as we purchased our food. To give context, we were actually trying to get a bite at Bengal Barbecue (our first choice at the time), but the wait there was about an hour. So we just went here instead because it's not too far from Bengal and we were able to see the line/wait was a lot shorter. read more
We love tropical hideaway. The dole whips are obviously what brings most people in. But we stayed for some snacks as well. They only thing I don't love is the lack of mobile ordering, but they aren't really set up for that. I love the location with the jungle cruise in the background. On really hot days, shaded spots are very hard to find and very much needed. The dole whips are such a solid treat, any and all flavors are wonderfully refreshing. This year brought a pineapple upside down. This was amazing,! The lumpia and sauce were great, hot and flavorful. The bao buns were both good, but the bbq chicken was better. read more
It was a hot Independence Day at Disneyland, and we took a break at The Tropical Hideaway for a Dole whip float ($7.29), a dairy-free frozen soft serve over pineapple juice. You can choose two out of three different flavors for the ice cream: pineapple, mango, and strawberry. I chose mango and pineapple. I think the Dole whip float is worth trying out, especially on a hot day. Despite the tangy flavors, it was still nicely sweet and refreshing. We also got the pineapple upside down sundae ($8.49), which was part of their seasonal offerings. The dessert had caramel and pineapple upside-down cake with a maraschino cherry on top. I wish I got that instead because it sounds really tasty. The line to wait took around five minutes, but you can place a mobile order. There are dispensers for utensils and napkins after you pay. It seemed like a lot of people wanted to cool off with a dessert because the only tables we saw open were under direct sunlight. We decided to just stand under the shade by a small bridge while we enjoyed our floats. read more

Both the the layout and mechanics of how it runs don't seem to be fully functional here. And if the eats were amazing to make up for it all, all may be forgiven. However, you can't just throw a Dole Whip on your menu to entice people (Dole Whips are always 5 stars ofc) and then not deliver on anything else. Disney fans love dole whips and they preying on us here hahaha ~ I kid. But I was lured in by the matcha dole whip seasonal special all over the socials right now. I've been here before and remembered the baos that had minimal fillings, a whole lot of bao bun and not enough on the inside. I do not recommend their bao. Today my friend and I decided to share the Lumpia which they really shouldn't be calling lumpia. This wasn't bad but it sure wasn't lumpia. They are basically spring rolls filled with pork & veggies which when introduced were $6.99 and are now $9.49. The price point no longer fits the two small rolls. Now all is usually forgiven here because they offer Dole Whips. As previously mentioned, dole whips are universally good. They will also offer special versions here of which, I was suckered into one of the Seasonal Offerings. I had their Matcha Float which was a DOLE Whip® Strawberry and Mango Swirl, topped with White Chocolate Drizzle and Toasted Coconut for $10. We had a bit but it wasn't very good and had no matcha flavor except for a bunch of liquid on the bottom. It was not a good seasonal offering of the standard version. It was beautiful though - very instagrammable snack. It did not help anything that on Mother's Day they were not taking mobile orders. My friend overheard someone asking staff if they had an alternative to mobile ordering when it was down (I'm sure the answer is no but instead of a lovely disney answer), the cast member shrugged. For such a popular spot, they don't have enough seating at all. It's a very small seating area that even at 11am (not peak lunch at Disneyland) had people camping out everywhere waiting for chairs, sat all over the ground & stairs everywhere. They need to expand the seating area to better accommodate guests because it was adding to guests' frustration. The food is just subpar here with better options other places in the park. The pineapple upside down sundae was sooooo good. This is the current seasonal offering, so don't miss it! It hit the spot after walking around the park on a hot summer day. It had pineapple dole whip, caramel and upside down cake crumbles, topped with a cherry. We tried a lot of restaurants/snacks at the park, but this was definitely one of my favorite treats of the day! Unfortunately, there was no mobile ordering but the line moved pretty quickly. There also wasn't any seating in the area despite how many tables there were. We just took it over to the shaded Jolly Holiday area, which was just a short walk away. I noticed how many other soft serve flavors and snacks they had that sounded really interesting, so I'd definitely go back to try them! read more

Nice place to take a break. The decorations are very nice and the music is chill. Dole Whip is a must. I didn't realize there were so many flavors and they just came out with Peach. I tried the pineapple upside down sundae and it was great. The sweet sticky pineapple bits and caramel helps offset the tartness of the whip. Love the cake crumbles too. Soft and chewy. There's a bunch of cake at the bottom to scoop up. We were lucky they still had commemorative 70th anniversary cups left from the Thursday anniversary a few days ago. Really enjoying the design and the material feels more solid than I expected. Only jarring things about this place are the talking bird which was too overdone to the point of annoying and the lights flickering too much. read more
[[HIGHLIGHT]]We like to do breakfast here when the ride lines start getting long but it's still empty at the Hideaway.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On this particular day, kiddo decided he'd rather have a dole whip and lumpia than the sparkling punch at Red Rose or a chimichanga at Ship to Shore. He went with the strawberry/peach whip. It was pretty good. Lumpia are always a solid choice, albeit a bit salty and small.
