I felt like my first wedding set was well cared for when ever I brought it in for an annual cleaning and inspection. Well I got a new wedding set. I brought the solitaire to them to be sized down 1/2 a size. 3 weeks later I got a ring back that looked horrible on the palm side of the band. You could clearly see where they cut it and made no effort to blend it back together. Also the ring was not polished and clean, as I was used to. I brought both things to their attention and the jeweler came out and said it was no big deal and I would have to live with it. I was not happy, but at the same time, I had always had great experiences before. Well today I called to ask about have the solitaire soldered to the 2 bands that go with it. They were very short and said it would be a 15 to 16 WEEK wait. I repeated "week?" in shock. The woman said "well what do you expect with over 800 repairs ahead of you?* Now hold on... so if I take my wedding rings in to Arney yearly, I would not have them for 1/3 of every year? Not acceptable, especially after my last experience. So today, I made a few phone calls. I got Lorraine Denise, Brillante Jeweler's voicemail and went on to the next highly rated jeweler. I wasn't comfortable with any that I talked to and was torn. Then Lorraine called me back. Wow! I can say with zero hesitation that I was 100% wrong about her. She was so kind and caring on the phone and eager to help. I rushed over after work. Low and behold, her master jeweler was there and guess what? He WAS Annie's excellent jeweler and left Arnie. Not only am I excited to work with Lorraine, as she seems like a very knowledgeable woman who takes pride in her work, but she is also someone that would be fun to have coffee with and talk. I'm also excited that I know I can trust the people she works with to do an excellent job. If you don't come here, you are making a mistake. I will be a life long customer. Thank you Lorraine. However, you have to realize the no return policy of most, if not all, places is normal. It is also a standard business practice of most consignment stores. I have been a loyal customer of Cottage Closet in Soddy Daisy for at least 10 years. The owner has a wonderful selection of "boutique" clothing and jewelry. She also has consignment clothing, shoes, and purses. She has helped me out several times by keeping an eye out for a special piece of clothing or accessory that I needed. CC's owner has always been very pleasant and honest in her dealings with me. I have never heard her speak rudely to any customer. CC's consignment collection includes formal dresses for homecoming, prom, and middle school dances. When girls come in for dresses, she helps them personally and is very fair in her business dealings. My daughter has experienced this many times. As a small business and consignment store, CC prides itself and their employees on helping these girls find their dream dresses. Her policy of not returning formals is a norm in this business niche. I will be continuing to give her my business long into the future.
