Sat here for over 20mins and watched the waiters take orders in the booths in front and behind us. Wife finally got up and asked for a waiter to take our order. Waitress was very nice, put the order for dinner and drinks in, 25 minutes later we had to ask for our drinks. We've been sitting at our table for almost an hour now and we still don't have our food. Very disappointed in the service today especially when they are not packed. Finally got our food over an hour later and we are beyond pissed. Overcooked to the point where the shrimp don't peel, the crab meat sticks, and the potato fell apart in our hands. We had to use the fork to scoop it up. By far the worse service. Wen to this place Sunday night. It was empty. We were sat and the minute we sat down things started going down hill. Waitress knew nothing about the menu. Skip forward to 1 hour later, we still don't have our food. When we get our food, we ask for crackers for the crab legs and they tell us it is one per table?! Then she come back without them, we ask for them again and she says he manager is looking for them. There were 3 tables in the entire restaurant and you don't have crackers for crab legs?!? Just not worth it. There should be minimum wait when you have 2 other tables in the restaurant. So last week we ordered some of the boil specials, clams, shrimp, lobster etc...In the past our food was prepared well and fresh, this time not at all. Most of our clams were and mussels remained closed after cooking indicating they were dead and not meant to eat. When you get a boil order you can expect one here and there but literally most of them were inedible. The sausage tasted funny a little off. After eating what we could we all became sick with a mild case of food poisoning . The bags were off, it felt like whoever the chef was they deliberately tried to get rid of old food by giving it to a take out customer. The sauce wasn't good either (garlic butter med). Visited this restaurant yesterday 10/6/21 with friends. All I can say is HORRIBLE SERVICE. I know we are in a pandemic and the restaurant industry is suffering with staffing but that was not the case last night. Plenty of employees there last night but nobody was doing work. Lots of them were sitting down talking to each other. One girl behind the bar register on her phone. Other workers sitting around on their phone and our waitress was no where to be found after she took our drink orders. It was like she was hiding. Now the restaurant wasn't busy at all only 2 table ours and the booth beside us who said that the were waiting for their checks and it took OVER AN HOUR TO PAY! Because something was wrong on their checks. Completely UNACCEPTABLE! Finally placed order and seafood boils came out at a reasonable time. No complaints for the boils. The Fried Shrimp basket one of my friends ordered, took forever to come out. When she started eating, the shrimp were NOT PEELED! How can you eat fried shrimp with batter and the shell is still on the shrimp under the batter?!?! Again UNACCEPTABLE. Our waitress never checked on us not once. Like I said it felt like she was hiding. Ordered 2 more frozen Margaritas and never got them. Turns out the bartender made them and of course our waitress never picked them up so when we flagged somebody down they were melted so they had to make 2 more. When it was time to pay instead of splitting check we kept it all on one bill so we wouldn't have to wait a hour like the table beside us and went ahead and gave her the card immediately after she brought us the check because we didn't want her to go on vacation again in the back! Finding good food & service recently has been slim but Twisted Crab Greenbriar DID ME RIGHT!!! I decided to have a Friday family meal at home and ordered to go; T2 Lobster tail boil, Lemon pepper, BBQ, and Buffalo wings. From the girl who took my to-go order, to the Bartender who made the best Blue Hawaiian I've had, to the Hostess who made sure we had ranch and butter, to the waiter who made sure we had bibs and gloves. The Cook!! Lawd Hammercy . It seemed like the cook hand picked large everything to put in the bag lol. My little ones who NEVER eat chicken correctly left nothing on the bone! Great job Twisted Crab and Server Jayla! But read on people..... The Twisted Crab (Chesapeake Square) has a fantastic ambiance and decor. Love it! Our server Jayla was spot on. She was extremely attentive and professional without being overbearing and intrusive. She was the perfect amount of Server -- letting us know the specials, refilling our drinks without being asked, etc. Way to go Jayla! One small negative was the host who greeted us --- he seemed nice enough and we had no real issues with him, but he is probably better suited for other roles. He was quiet, mumbled words under his breath and barely made eye contact. You expect a host to be outgoing, welcoming and inviting. Nope! Maybe a little host training would help. The food was very good. I ordered wings and my date ordered oysters. Both were tasty and hot, and Jayla served them on time. Most of the wings (a mix of legs & wings) were meaty - the only negative is that about half of the legs were really small and scrawny while the other half were good sized. I wish all the legs were good sized. One note that seemed really odd is that we overheard that some customers did not tip their servers. When I inquired about it, I found out that it is commonplace at this restaurant that servers get totally stiffed with zero tip. Seriously ???!!!!! I know servers and restaurant owners that have been in the business for decades and very rarely get zero tip. Might happen once every two or three years. Seems at the Chesapeake Square Twisted Crab stiffing servers with no tip is an almost daily occurrence. I hope management can do something about all you dead-beat, ignorant customers ... because all I saw were servers bustin' it for their customers; as ours did for us. They deserve better! So many things hopefully I can remember them all. First off the hostess was seated on a waiting bench and didn't stand to greet us simple thing I would normally ignore. Then the waitress came with our order which two of the four were wrong. My wife asked for the butter and garlic on the side. Not on the side but at least the waitress realized that this was wrong, but it wasn't butter and garlic it was Cajun seasoning. The waitress then proceeded to argue that it was butter. Then there was my order which was split I asked for Cajun on the shrimp and butter on the scallops. Both had Cajun but again the waitress insisted that one was butter and one was Cajun. The only order completely right was my son's which actually came in butter. His clams were only the size of a quarter but at least they were in butter. Now this was my first time but there was clearly a difference in his butter and my wife and I's "butter". But no fear the ticket had the right order so they could not be wrong. This again was my first visit but my last. Save yourself the time and money and just go to Kroger and enjoy dinner at home. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! DO NOT! I repeat. DO NOT GO HERE! I've been to this location 3 times and every-time has been a horrible experience. I only go here when I don't feel like going to shaking crab in Virginia Beach because the drive is just too far from Portsmouth. Let's see. The staff, horrible. The management, even worse. One manager didn't want to assist with correcting their mistake because they were about to close and didn't want to spend the time fixing the issue. We ordered to go and it took an hour to get our food and when we asked why it's taking so long the cook came out and said he already made the order. The people at the front desk informed him that he didn't and he got an attitude because he had to make our order that was placed and paid for an hour ago. When we received the order the shrimp were old and mushy. The potatoes were over cooked and it was a waste of our money. Then the cook got our order incorrect and left and the management pretty much said it was nothing they could do. No refund. No compensation. No nothing! I always try a place at least twice before I just completely say no but I have this establishment 3 opportunities to get it right and they have failed every-time. With this place being in the mall you would think it would be packed but no it isn't. They are horrible and we got sick off the last order of seafood. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! No stars if I could.
