This was our first time trying this location for Twisted crab. It was Memorial Day and wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. I called earlier that day to make a reservation but when I got there, there was no reservation listed so I don't understand why someone would take the time to get my information. Our waiter wouldn't check on us that much. We would have to wait for a while until someone checked on us. There were 6 of us and we all ordered T1. We made it for happy hour and we ordered a couple of drinks but took forever to come to our table. The boil bag was okay but the bag was so tiny. The location is very big and there's lot of seating but I won't be back to this location. The Norfolk location is smaller but their service is way better. Our waiter gave the table in front of us black bags but when we asked for it. She said not to tell on her but doesn't make sense when other tables had black bags. There was 6 of us and they didn't want to give us crab crackers but when she did. She gave us 2 which didn't make sense. We needed the blue stick so we can open our crab legs. Came during happy hour for half off wings and pick 2 1/2 lb for $14. We were seated within minutes of walking in. Our waitress was attentive. There was a good playlist on. We left before the DJ arrived. The bags were good and well seasoned. My sister's bag had larger potatoes than normal, and it was a little undercooked. This place is huge. I didn't realize how large it is. I met a friend here for an early dinner and even though they were pretty busy we didn't have to wait. I ordered 1/2lb snow crab legs with shrimp and sausage and corn in their house sauce with medium spice. It was delicious! My friend ordered a similar meal and loved it. The food isn't terrible, but obviously not fresh which I didn't really expect. The service, however, needs a major overhaul. I've been here twice and both times have had subpar service. Servers are nice enough and it's likely not completely their fault. It takes 10 minutes to get greeted by a server. The hostess are less than friendly, leaning over the stand, zero smiles, barely speak. It took another 15 minutes to receive my drink. Our food arrived before the drink. Strange. Happened both times. The seafood ($100 "deal") came out cold (barely warm, if I'm being generous), already cooked, on a tray -- it usually comes in a bag. Mussels were shriveled. When we complained, it seems to me they took it back, threw it in a bag, and microwaved it. Thanks. Unbelievable. I'm tired of restaurants overmaking food - people don't all eat at the same time, so there's no sense in cooking it all at the same time. This review is based off of service and not off of food as we never even got our drinks. We were greeted right away and sat and promptly asked what we wanted to drink and told about specials. Another 10 minutes for drinks to show up. 15 minutes for server to return and take our order. 5 minutes for appetizer to come out, then...... 40 minutes later we were told our food was "being bagged up and would be right out. 15 minutes later no food, but were told it was being bagged and would be right out, server did apologize and state that the kitchen was backed up. 10 minutes later we were told the manager would be bringing out food, and giving us a 15% discount, and that the reason our food was delayed was our sides of broccoli. Food was cold and terrible no flavor and small portions don't waste your time and money

Before I begin this review let me start off by saying that this review is based solely on my opinion and my opinion alone so with that being said let's go!.. We have searched two other restaurants looking for a place to host a party of 15 people and this was the only restaurant that was able to compliment us with no wait time at all. The food was hot and fresh and the waitress was kind and polite the minute she asked for our orders. The reason I'm taking away a star is because the service was kind of slow but I truly understand because most restaurants still are short staffed! But our waitress did the best she could and we appreciate her tremendously! Wait before I forget they make drinks with high potency so if you're a light weight drinker stay away from the alcoholic beverages please! I will be returning again sometime soon. read more

I especially enjoyed my Twisted Combo #4 with shrimp, clams, mussels, potatoes, and corn swimming in deliciously garlicky Twisted Sauce. The only thing the meal lacked was some bread or rolls to sop up that sauce. I also wish they had some additional vegetables like cole slaw or pickled beets as optional side items. My friend and I decided to check out the new Twisted Crab at Chesapeake square. The space is clean but felt more like a restaurant just opened instead of several weeks. I don't know if this is how the other TC restaurants are like but it felt more like a bar instead of a restaurant. Except you couldn't order a beer because no ABC license yet. Ordered 8 piece fried shrimp basket with onion rings. Food was cooked well but could have used a bit of seasoning. Waitress was friendly but seems to be new at this line of work. Hmm this is interesting. I just left T.Crab 2 mins ago and I didn't enjoy it. This isn't the first time I've been here but this time the customer service sucked. I went to the mall to shop a little after having a long day at work. I decided to go to twisted crab to grab a drink but also get a bite to eat. I waited at the bar and a guy asked me if I was ordering which I replied yes and he pointed me to a register to order and dashed off around the bar fast before I could ask for a drink. So I get up and order but confused because I wanted a drink too hence why I was at the bar to begin with. I waited back at the bar so I can order a drink. The whole time I was there waiting at the bar for my to-go food NO ONE at the bar approached me to asked if I needed anything. By this time I was upset and ready to cancel my order and leave. I was planning to leave a $20-30 tip just for that 1 drink but because they didn't approach me to ask I decided not to bother. Don't plan to go back to this TC. read more
