I saw this spot at the food court and the smell alone and the gentleman behind the counter with the warmest smile made me stop by. I ordered their shrimp platter and their chicken finger platter and it was so good. Everything is made to order so it was so fresh. The food was very well seasoned. The chicken and shrimp were both crispy and not dry at all. My daughter devoured her entire meal all by herself. The customer service was 10/10. He was so friendly and warm. I loveeee the different sauces they had available at the counter to complement the food. I will 100% stop by here again when I am visiting the mall.

Came to the outlet to go shopping but fell in love with this establishment and I will be back just to eat some seafood at chef Joseph! I ordered the fish and shrimp combo platter, and added cheese to my fries. The food was better than I could have ever imagined, I got very stingy with sharing lol . The service was good, any questions I had were answered and I even got to meet the owner. The ambience and presentation of my food was a 10 out of 10, it smelled delicious, I can tell that the oil was fresh, the staff were nice, and had I known about this place sooner I would have been coming! Chef Joseph can expect to see me at least 3 to 5 times a month , I'm trying to keep my back small and this new obsession I have with their food isn't helping, but it is 100% worth it .

Food was really good , highly recommend! Good price also ..... my bad I ate all the food

Shopping today and someone had a plate that smelled amazing. So I went out to search for it at the Premium Outlets in Norfolk. Let me tell you, I did not expect for the food to be so good since it was in a food court. The service was great, chef was attentive and thanked us even if we had not placed an order in advance. This is a business I will definitely be coming back to visit. Now the food I ordered the whiting and fries. It didn't even need hot sauce and i just wanted to try it with it on the food. Seasoned to perfection, everything was fresh and made to order. He informed us he had just filet the fish this morning. Highly recommend!!'

    Fresh and delicious!!! Awesome job!!!

Had the 2-piece catfish sandwich. It was very good but a little too salty for my taste.

It was challenging to find parking but thankfully, we were able to find a spot right in the front. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were seated right away. With it being lunch time, we assumed we would be able to grab some lunch but to our surprise, they were serving brunch and we were only able to order off the brunch menu. We were slightly confused and definitely didn't have taste for breakfast items so we had to choose from a small selection of non-breakfast items. We started with Palomas. The drink menu only included the drink prices for Happy Hour, and it definitely wasn't Happy Hour, so we weren't sure how much the drinks were. The server mentioned one price, then came back and told us another price but either way, all that would've been eliminated if the prices were on the menu. After looking over the brunch menu, my friend didn't see anything appetizing so she asked if they could make a BLT Sandwich, which wasn't on the menu, and they agreed. I decided on the Crab Cake Sandwich. The food was served in decent time. My friend had an end piece of tomato on her sandwich, which was disappointing. Our server took her sweet time checking on us so and we literally had to flag down another server just to get ketchup. My sandwich didn't even come with remoulade sauce that was supposed to be added. I did enjoy my sandwich though, it was very tasty. I also ordered the Bourbon Glaze Wings 'to-go' and they were delicious. From not being able to order from a lunch menu, to our server not being attentive at all, our experience wasn't that great. We also had to battle flies the entire time we were there, and we were sitting inside so that was a bit frustrating. The restaurant is located right by the Marina and it has great views but the service left a lot to be desired. I may return for dinner in hopes of a better experience but it probably won't be any time soon.

Everything I had was but delicious. It was also a big mess, but I expected that. I was glad the potatoes were soft but still solid enough to maintain their shape. It would have been a bigger mess if the potatoes were too soft. I'm not sure why there was a police car parked outside but that was definitely a surprise. I think the officer was on the phone(?) with someone but it wasn't obvious so people seemed to keep pausing to figure out if he was speaking to them. When I got inside I saw a big group which seemed to be a bit annoyed because they couldn't get seated until the rest of their party arrived. I do understand restaurants wanting to seat the whole table at the same time but it did make the entrance/exit a bit crowded for everyone else. I didn't look around inside too much but did see empty tables. I approached the two people at the front desk about my pick-up order and they pointed me to a different pick-up desk (with two more people there). They had maybe ten bags of pick-up orders but were able to find mine quickly. I was pretty glad to get out of there quickly and enjoy our food at home.

This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last. We were fortunate to grab two seats at the bar--our favorite place to dine--and from the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which arrived piping hot. The oysters were large, flavorful, and perfectly prepared--a wonderful way to begin the evening. Our Caesar salads followed shortly thereafter. Crisp romaine, fresh ingredients, and a well-balanced dressing made for another excellent course. For our entrées, we both chose the steak and lobster tail. My wife paired hers with the grilled asparagus, while I opted for the loaded mashed potatoes. Every component of the meal was cooked exactly as ordered, seasoned beautifully, and absolutely delicious. To top off the evening, the staff surprised my wife with a complimentary slice of cake garnished with fresh strawberries and mixed berries to help celebrate her birthday. It was a thoughtful gesture that made an already memorable evening feel even more special. Prime 757 delivered exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm atmosphere that made my wife's birthday celebration one we'll remember for a long time. From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Milk, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. She made us feel valued from the start, and throughout the evening she continued to provide excellent service to every table she assisted. She truly deserves recognition and a promotion. Unfortunately, our assigned server provided one of the worst dining experiences I've had. After taking our food and drink order, she returned only with our drinks and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes without checking on us. My friend's daughter's entrée arrived before our appetizers, and our appetizer--fried hard chicken wings--didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. When we asked about the delay, the server said it was because we requested the wings to be fried hard. She then made a comment about "Black people in the kitchen cooking." Whether she intended it as a joke or not, the comment was unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Because of the poor service and attitude, we asked if another server could assist us. While Milk continued to be wonderful, another employee with purple-blue hair was also very rude when we asked for assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and unpleasant. Later in the evening, around 11 p.m., I asked a staff member near the kitchen if they had lids for our seafood buckets. She responded "No" with an attitude. I then asked if they had to-go cups, and she said they did but claimed she was off duty. Less than 30 seconds later, she went behind the bar and began making and serving drinks, which made her response even more confusing. Shortly afterward, she began arguing with my friend at our table for no apparent reason. At that point, we asked Milk to get the manager. The manager came over, sat down with us, listened to our concerns, and apologized. He explained that he was actually off that day but had come in to help support the restaurant. We appreciated that he took the time to hear us out and said he would address the issues with his staff. The food itself was good, but good food cannot make up for poor customer service and disrespectful attitudes. We wanted this to be a memorable celebration for my friend's daughter, not an evening spent dealing with rude employees. Customer service is just as important as the food. Sadly, because of the experience we had, we will not be returning. I hope management invests in better customer service training because employees like Milk show what great hospitality should look like, while others left a very negative impression.

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

Founded in 1939 by Robert Steinhilber, its storied dining legacy is continued by his descendants. Located at the dead end of Thalia Road, the back of the restaurant has a gorgeous view of one of the tributaries at the end of the western branch of the historic Lynnhaven River. The restaurant is a wonderful place to bring visiting relatives and friends for an always fine dining experience. I wasn't surprised when my son made the choice of Steinhilbers for Mither's Day Brunch. What I was surprised by was that the restaurant, which offers only dinner, was actually serving a Mother's Day Brunch. When we arrived we were seated promptly at a table with a waterfront view. I mentioned to the hostess that throughout my Aunt's life, she had come every Friday. Timing was always when the restaurant opened, so she could get her favorite table. The hostess asked which had been her table. As I pointed it out, decades of family memories at the restaurant flooded through my mind. There was no doubt that we would order from the brunch menu. Only coffee had begun our day. We did begin with Oysters when we learned that they were Lynnhaven. The special taste & salinity of them is like no other. The Mother's Day Brunch menu featured 4 items. My son chose well. I didn't. His choice was the Soft-Shell Crab Benedict with Poached egg, crispy soft-shelled crab, Cajun hollandaise & home fries. Having been on an eating healthy and light regiment, I chose the Spinach and Mushroom Omelette with Cheddar Cheese & home fries. It was the first menu choice in 40 years that wasn't quality. The omelette was dry with the ends thin and overcooked. It was a disappointing menu item from a restaurant I've loved for decades. Of course I'll return. But I'll never again order an omelette at a special event brunch.
