Everything I had was but delicious. It was also a big mess, but I expected that. I was glad the potatoes were soft but still solid enough to maintain their shape. It would have been a bigger mess if the potatoes were too soft. I'm not sure why there was a police car parked outside but that was definitely a surprise. I think the officer was on the phone(?) with someone but it wasn't obvious so people seemed to keep pausing to figure out if he was speaking to them. When I got inside I saw a big group which seemed to be a bit annoyed because they couldn't get seated until the rest of their party arrived. I do understand restaurants wanting to seat the whole table at the same time but it did make the entrance/exit a bit crowded for everyone else. I didn't look around inside too much but did see empty tables. I approached the two people at the front desk about my pick-up order and they pointed me to a different pick-up desk (with two more people there). They had maybe ten bags of pick-up orders but were able to find mine quickly. I was pretty glad to get out of there quickly and enjoy our food at home.

We were fortunate to grab two seats at the bar--our favorite place to dine--and from the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which arrived piping hot. The oysters were large, flavorful, and perfectly prepared--a wonderful way to begin the evening. Our Caesar salads followed shortly thereafter. Crisp romaine, fresh ingredients, and a well-balanced dressing made for another excellent course. For our entrées, we both chose the steak and lobster tail. My wife paired hers with the grilled asparagus, while I opted for the loaded mashed potatoes. Every component of the meal was cooked exactly as ordered, seasoned beautifully, and absolutely delicious. To top off the evening, the staff surprised my wife with a complimentary slice of cake garnished with fresh strawberries and mixed berries to help celebrate her birthday. It was a thoughtful gesture that made an already memorable evening feel even more special. Prime 757 delivered exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm atmosphere that made my wife's birthday celebration one we'll remember for a long time. I had the Ribeye, Oscar Style, and added on a Crab Cake and my friend had the Salmon, Oscar Style, and to say we were impressed is an understatement. Everything was perfectly cooked and every bite was delicious. I really wish I had pictures but I will be going back very soon and will take some pictures. There were some real "singers" in there--not professional, but singers nonetheless. Make sure to come between 6-9 to enjoy their "Happy hour" specials. Drinks came fast. Appetizers came faster. From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Milk, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. She made us feel valued from the start, and throughout the evening she continued to provide excellent service to every table she assisted. She truly deserves recognition and a promotion. Unfortunately, our assigned server provided one of the worst dining experiences I've had. After taking our food and drink order, she returned only with our drinks and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes without checking on us. My friend's daughter's entrée arrived before our appetizers, and our appetizer--fried hard chicken wings--didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. When we asked about the delay, the server said it was because we requested the wings to be fried hard. She then made a comment about "Black people in the kitchen cooking." Whether she intended it as a joke or not, the comment was unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Because of the poor service and attitude, we asked if another server could assist us. While Milk continued to be wonderful, another employee with purple-blue hair was also very rude when we asked for assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and unpleasant. Later in the evening, around 11 p.m., I asked a staff member near the kitchen if they had lids for our seafood buckets. She responded "No" with an attitude. I then asked if they had to-go cups, and she said they did but claimed she was off duty. Less than 30 seconds later, she went behind the bar and began making and serving drinks, which made her response even more confusing. Shortly afterward, she began arguing with my friend at our table for no apparent reason. At that point, we asked Milk to get the manager. The manager came over, sat down with us, listened to our concerns, and apologized. He explained that he was actually off that day but had come in to help support the restaurant. We appreciated that he took the time to hear us out and said he would address the issues with his staff. The food itself was good, but good food cannot make up for poor customer service and disrespectful attitudes. We wanted this to be a memorable celebration for my friend's daughter, not an evening spent dealing with rude employees. Customer service is just as important as the food. Sadly, because of the experience we had, we will not be returning. I hope management invests in better customer service training because employees like Milk show what great hospitality should look like, while others left a very negative impression.

If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. We stopped in during their early happy hour. The menu has so many options. We chose tacos off the happy hour menu and then had sandwiches for lunch. The taco had a bbq flavor mixed in a birria type seasoning. It was ribeye and the meat was tender but the sauce was unusual for my taste. The Cuban sandwich was my choice. It had large slices of pork, more than I am used to eating. The bread was thick. The bar area was dark almost lounge like. Seats at the bar were available. Service was good. Our server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
