    Onion rings, ribs, seasoned fries
    John K E.

This phenomenally popular restaurant is situated a few miles north of I-880 at exit 21. Parking is very much catch as catch can, and on Friday night I was glad I got there early. This is rib night, starting at 5 PM. The place was already more than half full at 5:10, and there was a line waiting for seating at 6. Service was prompt, and $25.15 plus tip (excellent service) purchased a half rack of very meaty ribs (7 bones) with a side of seasoned fries, a second side of onion rings, and a refillable soda (Coke products). The ribs were well prepared, and served wet. The sauce was neutral, leaning neither to the sweet nor the spicy, but instead sealing the moisture into high quality meat. Both sides were solid, but the onion rings were a real treat. It is definitely worth getting off the interstate to give this one a try.

5 stars all around! The facility was nice and clean, our waitress came around often, and the food was great! We started with some onion rings and those were great. Then I got the b town burger, husband got the AM burger. With mine I got sweet potato fries and that came with some marshmallow sauce!!!!! Wow. So tasty! Husband got regular fries and those were good too! We will definitely be back.

I wanted to take a ride on one of my bikes and Beebeetown is always a good destination from Council Bluffs. It's a really nice ride. A couple days ago, I decided to take the short ride to Beebeetown. After the scenic ride, I stopped and grabbed a beer. I got the Berries and Barbs and it was cold and had a good head on it. The bar tender was really nice and busy setting up the bar for the day, which is good to see as that stuff is phoned in all the time and other bars. I'll come out again and try the food, in which I'll update my review.

Mushroom Swiss Burger and half rack of Ribs!

First time here and we will be back! We had the Mushroom Swiss Burger and half rack of ribs. Ribs were tasty, lean, and generous! The game changer is their house made BBQ sauce. Smoky, sweet, delicious! We will be back for their prime rib night and great prices!

We've been many times over the years. The food and service are consistently great. Everything we've tried has been excellent: the tenderloin sandwich, bbq chicken sandwich, french dip, philly and the burgers. I love the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dipping sauce. They also have great ribs on Friday nights, but get there early because they sell out fast! It's also one of the few places I find Wilson's Cider. It's a nice little drive from Council Bluffs, especially if you're cruising out on the bike or classic. We tend to take a "back way" and enjoy the scenic drive. The food is worth the drive and it makes for a fun time.

Let me start of by pointing out the obvious, this restaurant gets good reviews…read more I am not sure if it is from all the friendly Woodcliff locals who dine here nightly, the ambiance of the rustic brick and lumber building , the friendly staff, or the great food, but the reviews don't line. This is a MUST TRY kinda place if you find yourself anywhere close to Woodcliff Lake. Being that it was our first visiting here, our server Ainsley was very patient with us and gave us time to look over the menu. We both opted for the house salad to start. Very good!! Being that it was Thursday and every Thursday is burger night, we both ordered the house special the " I dip, you dip, we French dip". It's an all beef burger topped with roast beef , grilled onions and Swiss cheese. Served with a your choice of sides and a bowl of as Au Jus . I'm going to go out on a limb here and honestly say that I cannot remember a time that I had a better burger than this. It wasn't all the French dip toppings that made it so memorable, it was the beef patty that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. This lends us to believe that all their burgers are going to be amazing. We will be going back.

For starters, we had the bacon-wrapped shrimp, which came with mushrooms on the side. It didn't look particularly appetizing when it arrived, but it was absolutely delicious. The mushrooms were especially good--salty without being overpowering, which I really enjoyed. To drink, I tried the sangria. It didn't particularly stand out, but it was still enjoyable. For my entrée, I chose the whiskey ribeye cooked medium-rare, and it came out exactly how I like it. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. The salad bar wasn't huge, but it had a nice variety of toppings to choose from. The atmosphere is rustic with very dim lighting, and there were a few TVs throughout the restaurant as well. It does get quite loud when it's busy, though. Our waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a good experience, and I will definitely be back.

But I'm not a huge fan. First, it's really, really dark and really, really noisy. Not a place for a conversation, especially if you are dining with kids. The salad bar is, well, meh. The tastiest part is the super sweet poppy seed dressing. As far as the stars of the show go, I've eaten several of their steaks. They've all been well marinaded and perfectly cooked, but the ribeye and strip had a lot of exterior gristle that should have been trimmed off before grilling. Meals come with a baked potato, and other sides are available. I wish creamed spinach and corn were options (it is the Cornhusker state, after all), but those are just my preferences. We made reservations weeks ago (we knew the College World Series would be in town) so we did not have the 2+ hour wait that less organized folks were complaining about. We were seated right away - yay, OpenTable! Service was very attentive, and our meal's timing was impeccable. Omaha has a lot of choices for carnivores, and The Drover is a long way from the worst I've tried. I'm just not not sure it's where I'll get my steak fix in the future.

Gilberts serves more than just steaks, as I've been to the one in Tysons Corner and loved that one. There were four of us who came here for dinner... We started with cocktails, which took an odd amount of time to arrive at the table - we got half and then waited about 10 minutes for the other two to show up. Not sure what happened here, but those who got their drinks waited so we could all drink together and this made that moment a little off. We started with their Pretzel Crusted Onion Rings - WOW!! These things were HUGE!!! The thickest and biggest onion rings I've ever seen or had and they were tasty! The pretzel crust was very tasty too. I opted for their blackened chicken rigatoni for dinner. It was decent, but on the bland site. The roasted red pepper cream was interesting looking, but a scoop of blandness too. Overall I did like the flavor of the chicken and the sauce/texture was nice. This visit was decent, but slight delays in service and food being on the bland side makes me want to give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

They do have a food menu but for convenience we ordered a burger that they were grilling and selling outdoors. There are many picnic tables and a couple of stages on their large landing outside the main building. Everything seems super clean which is nice, and the folks that work there are very accommodating. I can only comment to the women's restroom, but they are fantastic! Each stall is completely private and well maintained! Always nice! I boated there over Memorial Day weekend, and while they did have bands it was nice that there was no cover. Who does that?!? Just another refreshing part of this newer establishment. They did add gas on their docks for boats which they didn't have last year. Fantastic except on this particular day anyway they did not have dedicated docks for boats that needed gas, but rather they would drag the gas hose over other boats to get to the boat that needed gas. Meanwhile the boat needing gas had to hold on to other docked boats to keep it steady while filling up. Hopefully this will not be a practice they continue as it seemed a bit dangerous and annoying for the owners of the docked boats. Their RV campground seemed full and nice, although it will be even nicer once the newer trees grow enough to actually provide some shade. Welcome back Cottonwood Marina!!
