This place is a hidden gem. Went there on a Sunday evening- was seated right away. They have a deck where you can enjoy appetizers and drinks. But the highlight were the steaks. My husband had the rib eye- regular size nearly covered the entire plate. It was juicy and flavorful, seasoned perfectly. I had the filet in regular size and it was a great portion of seriously delicious tender beef. Loved the peas served in their pods baked potato was hot and perfectly cooked. At the end of our meal we went outside to enjoy an after dinner drink. Try the Kahlúa supreme. An ice cream concoction that was perfect desert drink! The view on the deck was serene and simply beautiful.

The ribeye and baked potato. Cooked to perfection .. medium rare.

A little high for the quality. Had a ribeye, that was disappointing. Service was good. Love the location.

They have large "garage…read moredoors" that can be opened up so that you feel somewhat like you are sitting outside, yet you are not. They do have a food menu but for convenience we ordered a burger that they were grilling and selling outdoors. There are many picnic tables and a couple of stages on their large landing outside the main building. Everything seems super clean which is nice, and the folks that work there are very accommodating. I can only comment to the women's restroom, but they are fantastic! Each stall is completely private and well maintained! Always nice! I boated there over Memorial Day weekend, and while they did have bands it was nice that there was no cover. Who does that?!? Just another refreshing part of this newer establishment. They did add gas on their docks for boats which they didn't have last year. Fantastic except on this particular day anyway they did not have dedicated docks for boats that needed gas, but rather they would drag the gas hose over other boats to get to the boat that needed gas. Meanwhile the boat needing gas had to hold on to other docked boats to keep it steady while filling up. Hopefully this will not be a practice they continue as it seemed a bit dangerous and annoying for the owners of the docked boats. Their RV campground seemed full and nice, although it will be even nicer once the newer trees grow enough to actually provide some shade. Welcome back Cottonwood Marina!! So happy it was rebuilt after the flood!

Saturdays are for SMOKED prime rib night and it's a must to try their 12oz. Side of corn and mac and cheese, plus that au jus dunking sauce. Requested done medium and she came out perfect! Tender, juicy, seasoned well, crusted to perfection. That mac and cheese was BOMBBBB and highly recommended! First time having "smoked" prime rib and it's one officially checked off the list. EXCELLENT smoked flavor! I'm such a fish and chips whore, so when I saw it on the menu, it was a must. Boasted as premium cod, she comes in BIG fillets! Their two piece meal was plenty for one. Nothing to write home about on the chips; your traditional fry. Not terribly seasoned and not terribly... not seasoned. The cod was decently bite worthy, a little on the dry side, but flaked up well. Would I order it again? Probably not. Tartar sauce was just.. tarter cause. Timing was a tad off, as we finally got a refill and an additional water, when it was time to get the check. If you're going for a burger, plan on an extra 25mins ontop of your wait (unless uou made a reservation). Also snagged their Corn Colada off their drink list. Very sweet, no sweet corn taste, and surprisingly not burned!

Although it is off the beaten path, Twisted Tail is worth the drive. The address says Logan, Iowa;…read morehowever, it is actually located in a tiny unincorporated town called Beebeetown. Don't worry -- the roads getting there are in great shape and it is a pleasant drive. We visited there with some good friends last Thursday evening to avoid the wait times that I had read about on Fridays and Saturdays. Even though that meant we missed their popular ribs and prime rib nights, we were able to experience everything else which makes this place special. To begin with, the building at the corner of the only 4-way stop sign for miles around is rustic, yet clean and well-maintained. The interior harkens back to simpler days of the past with antiques, pictures and other great decor. Our waitress was a young gal who was very nice -- even though she didn't know what the daily special would look like. We figured that many of her customers are regulars who don't need to ask exactly how a dish will be served. Not a problem! Three of our group elected to try the Hot Beef daily special which was tender slices of beef in a sandwich topped with brown gravy with sides of mashed potatoes and creamed green beans. Good home-style cooking that looked and tasted delicious. My wife chose the French Dip sandwich which came with onion rings and au jus. The hoagie bun was filled with meat and she pronounced it to be delicious as well. Our only mistake was ordering an appetizer of Onion Rings. Not the onion rings themselves--they were more than fine. But it was a missed opportunity to sample something else as a starter. Wonderful meal! Highly recommend this place.

Let me start of by pointing out the obvious, this restaurant gets good reviews…read more I am not sure if it is from all the friendly Woodcliff locals who dine here nightly, the ambiance of the rustic brick and lumber building , the friendly staff, or the great food, but the reviews don't line. This is a MUST TRY kinda place if you find yourself anywhere close to Woodcliff Lake. Being that it was our first visiting here, our server Ainsley was very patient with us and gave us time to look over the menu. We both opted for the house salad to start. Very good!! Being that it was Thursday and every Thursday is burger night, we both ordered the house special the " I dip, you dip, we French dip". It's an all beef burger topped with roast beef , grilled onions and Swiss cheese. Served with a your choice of sides and a bowl of as Au Jus . I'm going to go out on a limb here and honestly say that I cannot remember a time that I had a better burger than this. It wasn't all the French dip toppings that made it so memorable, it was the beef patty that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. This lends us to believe that all their burgers are going to be amazing. We will be going back.
