I was looking for a pendant and found it. It was a beautiful Ruby Zoisite that caught my eye. I asked the first sales person to take out the pendant so I can purchase it and was interrupted by two customers who cut in front of me asking to see other crystal pendants in the glass case. I was baffled that the first sales person took care of them first and put my pendant aside on the counter. The customers where talking to her for a long time. As I waited, I casually took the pendant the first sales person set aside and I purchased the beautiful Ruby Zoisite with another sales clerk at the register. I left the store upset because the customers who cut in front of me was still talking to the first sales clerk. Solution: This store needs more sales people which is why I gave Universal Connections one star. read more

I've come to this store twice since I moved to San Jose and both times I would say they are sour experiences because of one woman who works there. I definitely understand COVID precautions and wanting to be safe but the way she talks to you is so rude and uptight-you'd be SHOCKED to think you are walking into a crystal store. Before I walked in and before she opened the door to let me in I put the hand sanitizer on they have outside like I would any store nowadays, but when she opened the door she told me to put some on and literally my hands weren't even dry yet but she gave me the look that I had to do it again so she could see. It was awkward walking in like I had just gotten in trouble but honestly it could've just been an awkward moment and that's it. But then I could just feel her watching me the whole time-as if I'm gonna steal something. Like I assume (big assumption) that people who are into crystals also don't steal them cause we're searching for good energy right? But yeah, I remember looking around for my boyfriend so I could show him a crystal I liked and literally looked around to see her from across the store just looking at me still. Then she came up to me with a warning that my time looking around the store was running out. I definitely get you want a rotation of customers but this is a crystal store, there is supposed to be a general relaxed shopping experience-and there is a nice way to tell customers that other people are waiting. This woman has no interest in figuring what that nice way is. The second time my brother was visiting from out of town and we wanted to show him willow glen. We go to the crystal shop (I was literally nervous to take him thinking of that lady but I take him anyway) and he asks to see a necklace from the same woman in the front, she takes it out for him to see. He asks, "can you hold it for me while I look around?" cause we literally had just gone in the store and she replies very snappily, just like an english teacher would, "you mean MAY I hold it? of course I CAN hold it" Liike come on, how is that any kind of way to talk to customers literally just trying to be nice and shop more? I have no idea if this woman is the owner but I have to say that she is because there is no other way she would be able to work there. She is the opposite of what you'd think a crystal store employee would be. The other two female employees that you check out with at the register, I've literally nothing bad to say about them, they were perfectly nice, the interaction when you buy is totally normal, nothing to report besides basic human kindness from them. After we left the second time we told each other this was the last time we would shop there and to make ourselves feel better by buying anything at all was to tell ourselves we were "saving" the crystals from that store with the worst energy. Amazing store with so many to choose from. It was my first time here. And I felt unwelcome. I was rushed after coming in for 10-15 minutes. I am trying to be understanding due to Covid but employees constantly hovering over you and watching your every move was uncomfortable. Instead of having a personal connection in helping you find or what you may need. I felt profiled due to the clothing I was wearing and sanitized prior to coming into the store. This store does have potential in having many of their items available and what you may need for your ritual or personal growth. I may give this place a second chance but, first impressions for me last long in the long run. I do recommend also trying Raven's wing in Berkeley where they are very welcoming to customers and to your needs. I am not one to go out of my way to write reviews about anything, but I have been to this store numerous times and felt it was necessary. I love crystals, and I love the VAST selection available at this store, but the previous reviews touched on "vibe" that I felt like I also received from this one lady (blonde and skinny). (I brushed it off, but when I checked other reviews, the off-vibe feeling I got, I felt the need to write this). The younger girls who were working were genuinely helpful, but the vibe I received from what seemed like their manager was weird. It is not that she was not polite, but every visit, I felt as if her eyes were constantly on me, and I just had this feeling of uneasiness. As a person of color, I honestly felt like that "vibe" I received was racial profiling. A feeling that I would not have expected being in an area as diverse as The Bay. I highly recommend The Love of Ganesha in SF, which offered a much more welcoming environment with a larger and much better pricing on their crystals. Overall, the rock selection they have is amazing, but they need to assess how they treat their customers. I recently went to change the setting to one of the moonstone rings I purchased, and I was shocked to find that it was some garbage metal bathed in silver. I went into universal connection today with my boyfriend and my friend and whoever the lady working the door was was super rude. She was a skinny blonde lady with a grey mask- wish I could've gotten her name. She refused to let me and my friend/boyfriend in because we were a group of 3 and she was demanding only 2 of us go in. We told her the person behind us could go ahead of us so we could all go together, and she replied super aggressively saying we HAD to have 2 people go in- no other options. We are frequent goers of this store and never had a bad experience, but that lady really ruined our day and made us never want to come back. When going to a crystal store I expect a peaceful experience, full of calmness and love, but this store exuded bitterness today and it was upsetting. When my boyfriend and I first arrived there the lady in the front did not even greet us or even say hi she told us that it was one at a time (which is okay due to COVID) there was only about 4 people inside tho, there also was no line, when i first went inside she mentioned it was a 15 minute time limit, the lady who i think may be the owner kept asking me a couple times if i needed any help and told her i was just looking. I absolutely love this store! As soon as you walk in, I get nothing but great vibes. The store is colorful, and the associates are so kind, helpful, and super knowledgeable. It has by far the largest crystal selection out of all the metaphysical/spiritual/holistic places I've been to in this area. I usually check this place first if there is an obscure crystal I'm looking for. It also offers tons of books, oracle cards, essential oils, sages and smudges, materials for yogis, beautifully hand-crafted crystal jewelry, etc. The Universal Connection Store also offers services by various practitioners for your spiritual and energy healing needs. I've so far done two services at the Universal Connection Store: aura photography by Mojgan and a Qigong assessment by Kate. My first aura photo was actually done at this store. Mojgan was really great about explaining the logistics of taking the photo. You put your hand on a plate that reads your vibrational frequency in that moment. I learned that your base aura generally stays the same, but the energy you put out into the world changes all the time. I highly recommend this service for anyone who wants to visually monitor his or her spiritual growth or even just to simply affirm what you feel is going on in your life right now. I opted to get the full aura and chakra photography session. Might as well go for the gusto, right? The full report contained tons of information to process, but Mojgan patiently walked me through page by page and answered every question I had. The second service I've done at the Universal Connection Store was a Qigong assessment by Kate. This was actually a segue from the aura photo I took. There is a section in my aura and chakra report related to Qigong that Mojgan wasn't able to interpret since she's not a practitioner in this. Naturally, I scheduled the Qigong assessment with Kate for a better understanding. Kate is such a sweet person and genuinely cares about why you are seeking this service. She also has a warm and calming touch. At the end of her evaluation, she recommends Qigong exercises to get your Qi flowing in the right direction. I've done reiki before, but Qigong definitely felt different. It's certainly worth experiencing! I highly recommend this service to anyone who wants a more focused healing, specifically different organs in your body. read more

It was my first time here at The Universal Connection Store and it was an amazing experience! The store is very well organized and clean, the staff is very helpful and although California is technically open, they still followed covid guidelines which I really liked. I wanted to browse around the store first and the staff was always checking in on me which was really nice when I needed to find a certain crystal. They have a plethora of crystals and incenses, I didn't even get to check the back room because I was so wrapped up in the crystals but there is so much to look at. Luckily I was able to find the crystal I was looking for and even found some more I wasn't expecting to get! The incense selection is really great too, I stocked up on a lot for my mom. Not a place to go if you are big on energy and vibes. There were two gals working, a younger brunette and middle aged white woman and they were not warm in welcoming myself and my 14 year old to the store. My 14 year old collects crystals and was very much excited to visit this spot. We travel to different cities, and local shops, thrifts and things of the sort. They were rude, cold, very unwelcoming and did not give us the same service they were giving another mother and daughter in the store. We will not be coming back to this particular shop. It's in an ideal location in down town WG, but too bad there is a favorable population that they prefer to serve, and that was made very clear through our visit earlier this week. It's a mediocre crystal shop, and personally I've seen better in the mall. The store is super immaculate and CDC guided for Covid. Only 15 minute shopping per person and before you walk in to their business there is a sanitary station. The main reason I drop into the Connection store is their essential oil display. They have the best prices I've been able to find on essential oils. I do wish they carried Tulip brand redwood scents but that fact they're less expensive than Whole Foods leads me to drop in when I'm in the area to purchase some Eucalyptus or Stress Relief oils. The service is good, if not overly friendly but personally beyond the oils there's nothing they carry that interests me. It's a smaller store that hasn't branched out like Mystic Dream in Walnut Creek has, and much of their products are niche market items. My in-store experience was pretty typical, there was a shopping time limit due to Covid guidelines and I had my own time to look at the crystals. The selection is great and everything is neatly displayed. I do prefer the online pick up order experience because there's more options on the sizes of crystal you want, I also received another small crystal with my order and I was deeply thrilled because the crystal given really aligned with my journey. My hubby and I have been coming here for years and this is a long overdue review(and I thought I wrote one already lol). UC is a lovely boutique-y meta-physical store located in the heart of Willow Glen. It's wonderful display in the front window drew me in one day as I was just taking a stroll. As soon as you step inside you will feel the welcoming and amazing energy. And how could you not? The space is surrounded by so many magical and mystical products(there is something for everyone, even the non-woowoos lol) and a staff that is happy to help you. I love coming here to pick up gifts for friends and family and I use a lot of the products regularly(ie. smudge spray, sage, crystals, high quality salt lamps, affirmation cards, etc...). I've even gotten crystals for my 2 doggies here :) If you ever get a chance to meet the wonderful owner, Tracee, you can tell she's put a whole lot of love into this store to create a wonderful experience for everyone. She's also a holistic practitioner/coach(though I'm not sure she is currently accepting new clients) that has made life changing impact on my friends whom she worked with. The workers are nice and helpful, and will leave you alone when you say you're 'just browsing'. As for the quality of crystals, I got the rough stones and a few points as well. I stopped by yesterday looking for some stones. The attendant kept asking me if I needed help and no matter how many times I said "No Thank you", she kept asking me and would step into my personal space. That felt really funky! I also noticed that many of their items were now secured with under lock & key, although I understand preventing theft, the energy on those items was of fear! And although I would have like to purchase some of the, when I noticed they were locked up, it felt funky and I past. I have shopped here before but this is the first time it's felt so funky. Not sure what's changed but I would pass on shopping here for now. As to the owners response to my review. Good customer service means to provide an experience which will provide the customer with a good shopping experience. When customers provide a negative feedback, it's an opportunity for the owner to hear about their customers experience and make impoverishment. It is not an opportunity to justify the unfortunate experience but rather an opportunity to impose shopping at your store. I went back and read a lot of the complaints regarding poor customer service. The owners responses to all those complaints have me an understanding of the initial problem.
