I have been wanting to come here for such a long time and I'm so happy I finally got to check it out! The bar itself is absolutely stunning! At first it was a little crowded so we waited a while in order to find a seat. Our server Rhea was so amazing and took great care of us. Solid bar, good service and solid drinks. We had an event there and the bar tenders were attentive and kind. Mixed bag in terms of quality of mixed drinks because we had a lot people, so we kept them working constantly and understandably they couldn't really concentrate on mixing some of the more complicated cocktails with time and care. Once the crowd thinned, quality was better. I do have to personally recommend bartender Brett. He made the best Old Fashioned I've ever had, and I consider myself somewhat of an Old Fashioned connoisseur. He even told me his recipe, which I will not share on this platform. Never coming here again. We had some friends from out of town come to Las Vegas and we wanted to have a nice time at the bar. I have to admit, I am not a huge Vegas fan. However, my recent visit to the Palms with my husband has helped redeem Vegas for me slightly. Part of the redemption was that the bar at the hotel "Unknown" was a great place for us to hang out where there was a fun energy but also a place to chill and be able to have a conversation. The bartenders were all friendly and Angelina was especially welcoming. She was helpful the first night we came in when the bar was a little busier and we felt like we might be in the way of the service well area and kindly welcomed us back the second night. The circle bar format is a fun way to see everything going on and there are also little lounge areas surrounding the bar, as well. read more

Loved the Unknown Bar! Loved the main attraction ... the gigantic shark, hanging in the middle of the bar. Great music too - loved the curtain that opened and closed, providing a cozy and aesthetically cool spot to enjoy time with friends and co-workers. I think I know the reason why this place is called the Unknown. We stopped into The Unknown while walking around the Palms casino. It was super eye catching because there is a huge shark in the middle of the bar split in three! This bar is very classy looking and sleek. I was surprised that when I went to sit down at the bar there was video poker at the seats. I do not like video poker & I know it is huge here but for this type of bar it kind of turned me off. One of the bartenders started making this really pretty drink that looked like a strawberry wine spritzer. I asked another girl if I could have what she was making but then she ended up pouring out saying she had messed up. So the new girl made me what it was (I still have no idea the name) and honestly it was awful. The price was $18.00 (pictured) and I really think it should have been $8-10. I ended up drinking it all just because I feel like I wasted money. There is a lot of comfy seating around. The atmosphere is very nice and decor great. My family and I were visiting Palms to play some games and came across this bar. I have to admit, I was intrigued by the giant shark above the bar and asked the family to stop inside because of it. I did a little bit of research and discovered that this bar was designed by artist Damien Hirst. Hirst's 1999 artwork, "Unknown (Explored, Explained, Exploded)", features a real life shark severed into three pieces is now the main feature of the bar. There was plenty of seating for our group of 5. I have to admit, the service was lacking. No one greeted us when we arrived and we had to seat ourselves before a waitress interacted with us. The drinks there were relatively cheap. We were able to order an old fashion for under $10. A steal for Vegas! Overall, the bar was a cool spot to hangout, too bad I'm rarely ever at the Palms. read more

Grabbed pizza in house since this bar doesn't even serve bar snacks. I cleared it with the person before I ordered the pizza. When I came back to the bar with the pizza the waitress kicked us out and told us we couldn't even take a bite of the food in the bar. We were forced to cash out and leave. I took a few of my buddies here last time I was in Vegas. We had a great time! The cocktail waitresses were all knowledgeable on the drink menu and we had great service. The coolest thing was the shark above the main bar area, to which the bar manager, Ricky, gave us the history and story behind the shark. This is the first time I am staying at the palms, and I know it's going through a remodel which will be beautiful however you might also want to makeover your bar staff. The three girls there yesterday were horrible. There were only 6 people in the bar and ordering a drink was extremely hard, they were VERY rude, condescending, and down right bitchy. As we sat there we watched people walk up to the bar and leave because they couldn't get a drink. One group of girls stood there for almost ten minutes then finally ordered and when they did the bartender was so rude, it is unbelievable these girls still have jobs. If you want to make money, I would suggest you find some nice friendly employees that smile, work hard and actually bartend. When we cashed out to leave I asked for two to go cups only to get them practically thrown at me with no eye contact. I said thank you she never acknowledged me, so I let her know her service was horrible, her response was a disgusted face and just turned around and walked off. Won't be going back there. read more

Had a great time here with my friend. Our waitress was Brenda. The Unknown (odd name for a bar with dots on the walls and a shark over bar) is nice open and right in the center of the Palms.
