We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary celebration dinner with family. The service was excellent, all the way from the host, our waiter to the wait staff. They were all super attentive, friendly and offered an amazing level of attention to detail. Our waiter made excellent recommendations for the appetizers and entrees based upon our preferences. While there was nothing exceptional about the steaks that we ordered, they were what one would expect from a fine dining steakhouse. The crab cake appetizer and the wagyu fried rice were the best sides that we had ordered. The grilled broccolini was good, but we thought the amount of salt and sauce on it was a little much. We had 9:30 reservations and we wanted it coursed out / not rushed but before we even opened our menus, we were told the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes and they could not guarantee it would be coursed and not dropped at the same time so we literally canceled one of the courses and the management did not seem to care. Here is the kicker - once the food was dropped in a basically empty restaurant, not one person came to ask how our food was. This was fast casual with fine dining prices. The oysters were good however when we asked where they were sourced (west or east coast) the team was unclear on where they were from. Had dinner in the more relaxed area of Scotch 80 on a Saturday night at 5, and it was quiet and delightful. The service was excellent and very attentive. The ambiance was a little odd as the music really pulled me out of the "high end" experience, but we were in the lounge area. There were some fun elements to the dinner like watching them cut a 40 oz ribeye at the table for my friends, but generally the food was what you expect from a high end steakhouse. Nothing mind blowing. We enjoyed the Brie dip, but the flavor was fairly benign. The creamed spinach was a favorite (less cream than spinach which was nice). I had the smaller ribeye, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. But the real winner of the meal was the house Manhattan! I was very excited to eat at the steakhouse as I stayed in the hotel and chose this restaurant and the Tim ho WAN. I had already studied the menu before I went in, so I knew what I was going to order. MJ was our waiter. He was sharp dressed and very polite. We ordered the pork lumpia for our appetizer. It was small, tiny lumpia, but very flavorful. It came with some de seeded Serrano chilies roasted I believe. The biscuits were absolutely delicious that were for the table. I ordered a Shirley Temple and my Bestie got a Gingerale. Neither were ever refilled until the very end so that was a little disappointing. My best friend asked for a refill and MJ said we don't give refills here. That is particularly standard, but since this isn't my first trip to a fine dining restaurant, I am well aware that you don't get unlimited refills with your drinks. I said that's fine. Please bring us another one and since it was the end of my meal, I didn't hardly touch my additional Shirley Temple which I was charged for. We both got ribeyes and the sides are extra, which is also standard at a high-end steakhouse. My mac & cheese had a piece of cardboard paper in it that I scooped out along with my serving so clearly this would indicate it was frozen and box style. I am also a chef. It was fine. I didn't mention anything. I absolutely loved the whipped mashed potatoes. I did request steak sauce and he said we charge for steak sauce. I said that's fine. We ordered the chimichurri steak sauce and the house steak sauce. I know a lot of chefs get offended when you ask for steak sauce on their meat, but I never do because it's only a preference. In any event, the house steak sauce was not to my liking so I didn't eat it and I was still charged for it five dollars each. This was my best friend's first experience at a fine dining restaurant. I wanted her to have the best time and I would say she had a decent time. The restaurant was very clean very spacious, very beautiful and I did enjoy my food. There was a really cute bathroom in the women's restroom beautifully decorated. Only one stall out of the three and MJ recommended I try that stall when I went to the ladies's room. I appreciated that tip because if I would've went and either of the restroom stalls, I wouldn't have noticed it. I did take a few dollars off of MJ's gratuity for not seeing him after the food was served by the servers so we could ask for additional drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Came to Vegas for Illenium at the Sphere and had to make a stop at Scotch 80 Prime. They have daily happy hour Monday to Thursday from 5-7pm where you get 30% off selected items. It would be a good place to go if you want a steak night on a budget. We usually sit at the bar and order drinks as well. The drinks here are strong and unique. This visit I tried the spiced old fashion which is tequila based. It tasted just like an old fashion but a little more subtle than your standard old fashion. We ordered the Cesar salad and jumbo shrimp cocktail to start off. The salad has anchovies and a long bread stick crouton. The lettuce was crisp and coated nicely with the dressing. The crouton was super crispy and had shredded parm on top. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was super meaty and large. It had a nice bite and the cocktail sauce was nice and tangy. The shrimp was also coated with a sauce as well as you can see the herbs on it. For our entree we got the 8 oz ribeye cap and wagyu short rib. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was tender and nicely seasoned. It was not overly buttery so you can still taste the beef. The wagyu short rib was actually a pasta dish. It came with pappardelle pasta and chorizo sausage. Our server recommended to eat the short rib with a bite of the sausage. The two complimented each other very well. The short rib was soft and the chorizo sausage was more firm. It balanced each other out as the short rib was more fatty and the sausage was more lean. The pasta was cooked al dente and had a nice bite and chew. There were tomatoes and chickpeas part of this dish as well which makes it more hearty. We ordered the toffee pudding for our desert and enjoyed that as well. The pudding came out hot with a scoop of ice cream on top. The toffee pudding was spongy and paired well with the ice cream. It had crumbles baked inside which gave it a nice crunch. The service here is really good. They came back frequently to check how we were doing and brought us water and bread. There were jokes exchanged and they really made our night. The restaurant has both bar seating and regular dining. Everything was elegant and would be a perfect date night or night out in Las Vegas. We had to get an order of fries when one of the servers walked past and we saw their glistening crunchy texture lol for cocktails we kept it light with a Lychee Me and a Silly Rabbit. First time here and living in Vegas, it will probably be our last. We had tickets to a show at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms. We like to eat before the show and normally try to eat in the casino where the show will be, so I made a reservation for last night. I looked at several reviews before writing this review to see if this is the way this restaurant operates on a daily basis or if it was just our experience. Sadly, you will find they are consistent in many ways which I'll explain. Let's start with the hostess, Sadly her personality is the norm of culture from the top down here. This being an upscale restaurant in looks only, they have a dress code which is not really enforced. I saw people dressed to the hilt down to non collard shirts, from slacks, to jeans, to a few in shorts and a zippered hoodie. I'm guessing he may be a regular. I was standing in front of the hostess stand on my walker in a nice pair of jeans and a polo shirt when they opened and this young snot, looked past me to an older couple dressed in a suit and the wife in a nice dress and asked them if they had a reservation? I stopped her and said "I have a reservation" to which she immediately turned her attention to me and asked me my name. We both thought her as very rude but it did not get better from there. We were told to have a seat on the couches inside and they would seat us. A different girl took us to our table. We can easily afford to eat here otherwise we would not have been here, but again culture, judging people who are not regulars. Our waiter Noah came over with a snotty attitude, and actually provided ok service as I met his attitude with attitude of don't treat me like I don't belong. In Vegas, you can find better quality food off the strip at the same price or cheaper. Noah was attentive until they started to get busy then we got forgotten. We told Noah we drink a lot of water so please keep an eye on this since they did not have bigger glasses according to him. We like to order appetizers and enjoy them before the next course. We explained this to Noah who said he would portion our meal out but that did not happen. We started with crab cakes and the Scotch 80 Brie Fondue. We told him we wanted to enjoy this before the next course. He pushed so I ordered the Four Onion Soup Gratin and we wanted to share the Scotch 80 Chopped Salad. Noah said they would not come out until we were ready. Our two appetizers arrived and about half way through those the soup and salad arrived. I pointed out this is not how we asked for our food and he said he will make sure the main course did not come out until we were ready. For the main course I had the Scotch 80 Burger and my friend had the Diver Scallops and we ordered a side of the Mac and 3 Cheese and the Creamed Spinach. They did not come out before we were ready but my burger was clearly made and sitting until we were ready. The scallops came out cooked almost perfectly, however the cheese on my burger was not melted and the burger was cold so it got sent back. I enjoyed the sides and my friend finished her dinner before my burger came back. The crab cakes were good, the Brie Fondue as well as the salad was good. The onion soup, I've had better. It was not horrible but it was not great. My friend really enjoyed her scallops, the burger was not worth $50, it was ok, nothing that separates it from other burgers. The sides were good as well. Even though Noah passed by our table several times, he did not acknowledge us and we had to keep asking for refills as he filled waters on other tables but ignored us. His assistant was a little better but he was hustling. It got so bad that my friend started drinking water from the bottle she brought in. In reading reviews, this place is normally not very crowded except for show nights and the lackadaisical service and mistakes by the kitchen seem to be hit and miss. There was a couple we saw arguing with one of the managers because they had a reservation for two and added another person going to the show last minute. Even though the tables are mainly 4 tops, the manager said they were too busy to seat a third person at the table and told him he can sit at the bar and have a drink but no food??? Poor culture from the top down. We never leave less than a 20% tip normally but this entire experience was far below 20% more like between 10 & 15 but we still left around 18% which was more than generous for being judged and ignored. We will not be back and I don't recommend this place unless you want ok over priced food and to be judged and treated like you don't belong even though you make more money than anyone there. read more

The service was mid but I did appreciate the manager coming out and fixing our undercooked wagyu sliders which were delicious! We also tried the shrimp toast , which was OK, the crab cake was bland, the wagyu empanadas were delicious & that chimichurri sauce was FIRE!The lumpia was also a hit! I think our server forgot I ordered fries but that was fine. The martini tower was a perfect servicing and the Lychee was my fav . Scotch 80 Prime sits right off the casino floor at the Palms, and that proximity probably tells you most of what you need to know. It's a fine steakhouse. Fine. In a city where "fine" is a generous way of saying "don't bother." The bread arrived stale. Not day-old stale, more like "we forgot this was a thing" stale. Skip it. The oysters were fine but on the small side, and the bone marrow didn't do much to justify the menu real estate. These are the kinds of appetizers that exist to fill time between your cocktail and your entree, not to be remembered. I went with the rib eye cap for my main and it was good. Not great. Good. Properly cooked, solid flavor, nothing to complain about and nothing to call anyone about. For what this place charges and where it's located, "good" is a little deflating. Here's the weird part: the best thing I had all night was the creamed corn. It's got a little char and a little heat and it actually tastes like someone thought about it. If a side dish is the highlight of your steakhouse meal, that's information. The cocktail program is legitimately solid, and I appreciate that they credit the bartender who came up with each drink. That's a nice touch and it shows. Within the context of Las Vegas and the number of genuinely excellent steakhouses available at every price point, this place is a tough sell. If you've got hotel credit burning a hole in your pocket, sure, Scotch 80 will spend it adequately. Otherwise, you're a short Uber from options that will actually leave an impression. Food: enjoyed both the bread service and the fondue with toast points to start, along with excellent cocktails, mine was a seasonal blueberry with sugar rim, not too sweet for a starter though. We chose this lounge to celebrate a good friend's birthday because they've been promoting their "girl dinner" concept online, which looked perfect for a fun night out. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the expectations. Their policy is that they don't seat more than 12 people at one table, which we completely understood since our group was 14. We were more than happy to split into two tables and simply asked if they could try to seat the tables next to each other so we could still celebrate together. Instead, our group was seated far apart in different sections of the lounge, even though there were several open tables nearby that would have easily allowed us to sit close to one another. The restaurant also wasn't busy when we were seated around 7:15, and it actually became quieter as the evening went on. It felt like the seating decision was more about server sections than accommodating guests. For a place that actively promotes a "girl dinner" vibe online, it was disappointing that a group of 14 women coming in dressed up and ready to celebrate (and spend money) couldn't be accommodated in a way that allowed us to actually celebrate together. i met my girlfriend's here for happy hour, but since I was the first to arrive, I grabbed the Hamachi Crudo And the 1888 old fashioned it is made with chocolate bitters coconut so delicious. there is a girls menu you need to ask for it where they're small plates, sliders, filet mignon and drinks. I only wish we'd gone here sooner!! Scotch 80 Prime was simply amazing. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and I loved the background music (old school/neo soul R&B vibes). Our server, James, was a great blend of humor and hospitality. He made great recommendations, pacing of the meal was perfect, and he was helpful without being obtrusive. His assistant (I believe his name was Josh), was also great. Our cocktails were delicious- I had the pumpkin spice espresso martini, while my husband had one of their specialty old fashioned drinks. Bread service was fantastic- my favorite type of bread: soft, warm, and buttery. We split a wedge salad and the plating was beautiful, and the salad was flavorful and refreshing. I got the rib cap, medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. I got the wasabi horseradish sauce on the side and it gave it just enough kick. I also got the lobster Mac and cheese, and wow- talk about cheesy goodness! It had plenty of lobster in it as well. It could have used a bit more seasoning, but other than that, it was great. My husband got the Delmonico ribeye, which was a special of the day, and enjoyed it. He got the wagyu fried rice as a side. He didn't realize it was topped with a fried egg and requested it be re made with scrambled egg mixed in with the fried rice. They re made it with no issue and James was so cool about it. Hubby enjoyed it after that! We passed on dessert- nothing really caught our eye. Yes, it's spendy, but definitely worth it! I'll return soon! read more

My wife and I choose to sit at the bar every time because of him. He remembers names, preferences, and makes every guest feel genuinely welcomed -- not just served. One of the best things to see is how many patrons Eddie greets by name. That alone tells you everything. There's a reason people are loyal here, and it's because of him. The bar feels like a community, not just a place to grab a drink. Exceptional service, great conversation, and flawless execution every single visit. Made a reservation for Easter dinner based on previous reviews and let me tell you they did not disappoint everything from the decor to the service to the food and the drinks were absolutely exquisite!! I also learned some history about why the restaurant is named Scotch 80. Named after an exclusive vintage community located at Charleston Boulevard and Rancho Drive right in the middle of Las Vegas. The name comes from when the first mayor of LV (Peter Bull), bought 80 acres of land using funds from Scottish investors. This restaurant lives up to the community reference for sure! read more
