Had quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had in a store this past weekend. Went in with 4 packages: 2 had return labels and 2 were being shipped to family in Florida. The 2 return labels were fairly easy. The two items being shipped to Florida were envelopes- one had my rent check and some mail that had come to the owner and one had pictures. I arrived on Saturday around 12:40pm. There was one cashier, college-aged female, and a middle-aged man. The girl seemed to be in training, she was very frantic (yet apologetic) in every step that she took. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a "you dont expect anything to be delivered by Monday do you"? from the man. Rude, yes, but whatever. I didn't expect anything expedited, just wanted to send them out using Ground/cheapest option. Each of the envelopes were approximately $14-- yes, you read that right, $14!!!! And I was told they'd arrive by Friday of this week. Seriously? USPS has $15 "it fits it ships" boxes that are 1,000 times larger than what I had sent out. For each label I spelled my name, gave my email address and verified the dollar amount/worth of what was inside. Each label took about 5 mins to make, and every customer that came in was allowed to go before me because I had multiple packages. In and out they went, there I stood. On the 4th label I realized they had spelled my name wrong- on.every.single.package. They also spelled my email address wrong, and one of my recipients. Back to square one. Back to letting each customer go in front of me. Side note: WHY is there only one credit card machine for 2 computers? What gives, UPS? My husband and 2 month old baby were waiting in the car for what we thought would be a quick in and out trip to UPS. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect (the guy) or witnessed such cluelessness (the girl). She absolutely had to be in her first week of the job and I am guessing being trained by that guy was not exactly a good time. Anyways, when all was said and done it took 50 mins. Nearly a full hour to send out 2 *envelopes* which I was charged $2.00 for, btw. The girl thanked me "for my patience" and I was on my way. I considered asking for my items back and going to the post office across the street but it was almost 2pm at this point. I received 6 confirmation emails, showing that everything had been misspelled and now had been changed to the correct spelling. I asked for email confirmations and was assured I would be notified when everything was received. When I went in to track the packages, I saw that they listed Monday as the ship date. Really? I was in there in the early afternoon on Saturday and they listed 6:30pm Monday night as the time the packages were received at that location. Horrible, just horrible! The two prepaid labels were delivered.. did I get an email confirmation? Nope. I am praying the other two packages make it- especially after paying such an absurd amount of money to ship envelopes. Never again. Take my advice, and look at the average Yelp review for this location- save your time, money, and patience, and go anywhere else in the area. read more

I was in the Amherst UPS Store a few days ago and had issues getting an Amazon return label to print. Normally, when an Amazon return needs a printed label, I've used UPS stores printer service, which is really convenient, since I don't have a printer at home. The Amazon app was not working and so I had to take a screenshot of the label and try emailing that way. Julia was very patient with me while I tried to get this figured out on my phone. (I'm not very tech savvy) I appreciated Julia's friendliness and patience with my frazzled self! :) read more

Another dumb move by UPS Amherst. The bozo at the counter tried to tell me that he would charge a couple of dollars for putting an extra piece of tape over my prepaid return label, even though it was already taped on. He tried to use the occasion to sell me a roll of package sealing tape. Doesn't UPS do anything to police the quality of customer service in its franchises. These Amherst guys should be cleaned up or moved out. read more

The balding man is very rude, appears to calmly enjoy taking a few seconds to pause, look up, look around at the customers in line, and then sigh, and look back at what he's doing. Several times while I waited he looked up at the customers in line and rudely announced that if we wanted to avoid the wait we could go to a Staples. Nobody in the store said anything in response, and I hadn't heard anyone say anything in the first place. He is just shy of spiteful, certainly disdainful and now that I have been there 3 times and it is each been the same, I am writing the review. read more

This place sucks. I understand it's the drivers discretion if they leave the package at your home if you're not home, but it's ALL the time. Went to the store to go pick up the package that they didn't leave and it wasn't there. This has happened TWICE now. Fucking ridiculous. read more

If I could I would give this store no stars at all. I am a senior. When I entered I could hear the clerk talking down to the woman he was "helping". His tone was angry and condescending. After a bit I asked if anyone could help me get my 20# box out of my car. I was rudely refused. He said he couldn't leave the store because he was alone and couldn't leave the store. OK, but the tone? The rudeness? After some minutes he offered me the dolly which I was able to manage. When the young woman before me left she whispered "good luck". He continued to be rude and condescending. I asked him if this was his store. "No" I told him I was not surprised. His machinations took up valuable time. The man at that store is a jerk. The swearing and attitude was unbelievable! He obviously doesn't want to be there. He was annoyed that I - and others- were sending back amazon packages. He on several occasions complaining about the fact that people were there to return to amazon. He was extremely rude to an elderly lady who was unsure of the procedure. Isn't that the purpose of the place? Sorry to inconvenience this store with my business. I'll find another ups store . Won't ever go back. Like others have reported this store is horrible. Does not even deserve 1 star..I came into the store hoping to get some items packed and shipped. No sooner had I entered then the guy at the counter screamed angerly across the store at me..."Before you even come any further know that we won't be able to ship that box so you might as well leave now." Really??!! THAT was his first greeting to a customer? Anyways, I then advised I wasn't wanting to ship that box but to have the contents packed and shipped. Rudely he tells me to put the box on the scale..then dump all the contents on another counter so he could view them. Throughout this process he is giving me the same sob story others here have reported..that he is several days behind and would not be able to ship anything out for several days (that right there should be a red flag to you). Anyway I told him that's fine, I was not in a rush, and he continued in his very angry way to provide a quote of $290 to provide a box MUCH larger then what was needed for the contents and the shipping out to Colorado. My feeling was he honestly did not want the business and was jacking up the price so we would go elsewhere. Which with this Aholes attitude we were more then happy to oblige. Leaving we found MUCH better service, at MUCH better prices elsewhere..Unless you enjoy getting ripped off by very angry people who have no desire to serve you go elsewhere. Really not sure how this place stays in business as this shop owner does nothing except destroy UPS's reputation. Worst shop experience I have ever had. AVOID! read more

It's a UPS store. They're a shipping store -- shipping services and so forth. So I ran in with my one little package today. Whoops, I needed tape to seal my package & my preprinted label on the package. No problem, right? Because this is a for-profit shipping store, they must have some basic shipping supplies available to their customers? Why, yes. There's a big roll of shipping tape right there on the counter. Oh but wait. Customers can't use it. Instead, the clerk had me buy a $3.99 roll of tape just to seal my package. I had been under the impression that one of the benefits of a SHIPPING STORE was that they had more services than, say, dropping my package off at a bin. I stand corrected. But, hey, the post office is just across the street, and guess where I'll be shipping from in the future. read more

Don't use them. I got their summer storage deal, 9 boxes for $199. They clearly dropped one of my boxes, which ended up breaking my television. When I called them to file a claim, they told me that their insurance policy doesn't cover anything, unless there is obvious damage to the box. And, get this, the guy goes "Even if it did, it has to be on the day of. It's been a few days." Well, I didn't report it on the day of because the guy who dropped my stuff off left it outside my door, and told me to sign on the dotted line before I could open my boxes. He was here and gone in a matter of 10 minutes. I'm also a college student. It definitely takes more than one day to unpack. I've had negative experiences with them before, like overcharging me for shipping stuff back home. Don't use this store. They give UPS a bad name. I don't know if it's because they're in a small town, they think they can get one over on people. read more

Any random person on the street is more polite, civil, and well-mannered than the staff at this UPS store. They are hesitant to say hi or say have a "good day". They look like fifth graders with no manners. The only reason I go there is that there is no other UPS store nearby but these rude staff. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I brought clothes in ziplock bags to have them pack and ship. The box they used was too big, but the guy behind the counter said that's the one that needs to be used, to the tune of over 50$ for packing, and they were very busy and wouldn't be able to send it off for at least a day. I was leaving that day for Miami and said it would be ok. To make a long story short, they copied my address wrong on the invoice, it took two phone calls for me to get a tracking number I waited to get the package for a week after dealing with UPS to find out what happened, and when I called the store and asked for money off my bill, the guy that answered the phone said that they paid for the address change, what more did I want! I had totally the opposite experience at this store. I had to ship a large package that required an even larger box. First, the customer service reps helped me get my rather unwieldy package into two large boxes, filled them with foam kernels, and taped the two boxes profusely so that the contents wouldn't be damaged. There was no charge for "tape" or the "foam kernels" which really surprised me. They even insured the package for a minimal cost, which arrived safely at its destination. I will definitely revisit this site without hesitation. read more

I tried to do some printing here, because I could upload the documents at home and pay for them there, then just pick them up. They weren't printed, apparently they don't have access to the site where those orders are from. When I arrived to pick them up, they had no idea I'd made an order, then they proceeded to print everything and charge me double the rate I was quoted online. Complete BS. read more

Worst customer service ever. Every time I call, the guy who picks up ALWAYS asks me to hold, which at first I didn't mind but to have to hear that every single time i call? Is it really a coincidence that they are really busy every single time considering the negative feedbacks they have been receiving? And do keep in mind, I have called at literally different hours of the day each time. Also the guy was very rude in answering my questions which were simply to find out their rates for storage. Then, I called to register to store my stuff here and the guy, to no surprise, tells me that they are currently busy and asks me to call the next day, to which I obliged because I did call them an hour or so before they were closing. I called the next day, and again, the guy says they are busy and asked me to leave my name and number so they could call me back. I waited two days -- no call. So finally, I call them, has me on hold again, then he finally helps me to register. Which at this point, I am finally relieved because I had been trying to do so for about a week. However, the guy asks me for my credit card number and I ask if I can just pay when they deliver the boxes. He tells me no and so I tell him that it's fine then, and that I will look for a different service. He rudely says "Ok" and hangs up. Way to do business, motherfucker. Also, I guess they bumped up their price because the dude told me the flat rate was $209 for 9 boxes and a previous poster wrote $199. There are better options out there. Don't go with this one if you don't want to waste your money. read more

The people at the store itself were great, nice and helpful. However, my box was very damaged when it arrived and things were broken. The way UPS works is the corporate people send claim information to the franchisee. He won't fill it out or respond to my attempts to contact him. Without the paperwork nothing happens. In other words Its just "too bad" that my things are broken I won't be seeing any compensation I can see the writing on the wall. There are other shippers (notably FedEx) that I will use in the future. If anyone knows the owners tell him Thanks Asshole from me. As others had said, the guy who works here is INSANELY rude. Like so rude you think it's a prank and you're candid camera or something. I wish I could give negative stars. Sarcastic & shouted at us. All we had to do was drop off two packages that already had labels, easy peasy right? Nope. He kept telling us that they aren't "actually affiliated" with UPS so he couldn't guarantee the labels were correct or would get where they were going but he'd "hand them off" to a driver, but we should just contact drivers directly next time. This store is one of the least friendly, least helpful, least informative UPS store I've ever been in; the owner has his own concerns, barely notes customers, has a less-than-generous policy about materials, and the employees are sub-par in terms of customer service. I went to Staples in Hadley afterward and the employee there said: yes, we do everything here, and many people come to us because they can't take the lack of friendliness and support at UPS. Its locale, near UMASS, is its only feature: they just lost my business for the next many years I'm here. read more

I went in on Tuesday, Oct. 17 to package and ship 10 pictures of various sizes, a tote bin full of books and a blanket to a University in Illinois. As soon as I walked in with just three of the 10 pictures the worker told me they were short staffed and would not be 'able to take care of packaging' for a few days as they were already backed up. I told him fine, went out to my car to bring two more loads in and he advised me to bring my shipments to the Greenfield or Northampton, MA store. We own a small business and if my employees ever suggested that they could not do a job and to go elsewhere they would be fired!!!! This man was incredibly lazy, rude and unhelpful. I will NEVER USE THIS STORE AGAIN. He also told me that they were low on packing supplies and that would delay the shipment. Really, I turned and looked at all the bubble wrap and peanuts on the shelf. The shipment with insurance came to over $700. Upon arrival there was no one in the store after almost an hour he had a line of 6 people and didn't make eye contact with any other them to at least say he'd be with them shortly. I still have not yet received an email that the items have been shipped. The owner of this store needs to read these reviews because it seems that its the same employee that is giving his business bad reviews. I can't even give this a 1 star!!!! DISGUSTED. read more

This was the worse service I have ever received from some guy named Paul. He was rude, obnoxious and slow. It took him one hour to wait on me with only one person ahead of me. He stood around using the phone while the customer taped his 3 boxes and went in the back room on his computer. I didn't know the area or else I would have left. All I needed was a box. Three people behind me left. I felt like I was watching "Dumb & Dumber" cause the customer was a stupid kid that didn't even know his address. And then Paul asked him if his address was spelled right on his license (Duh)!!! How embarrassing to the town of Amherst to have this kind of service. I see from other reviews about Paul that they received the same kind of service and the owner still has him employed -- what is wrong with this picture. DON'T GO HERE...... read more

Charged 3 times what the merchant said I should have paid to return an item. Clerk was annoyed at me, and doubled the actual weight, said I asked for tracking which I didn't, and told me insurance was free. No manager around to tell. read more

I have consistently found the customer service at this store to be substandard. I have used other UPS stores and have generally found staff to be very helpful. At this particular store, however, I always encounter the same staff-person who has been consistently curt, rude, and unhelpful. I feel he treats me like I am a nuisance whose business he does not need. He may be the manager of the facility. In any case, I went in there today and asked for some help shipping a package. Instead of answering my questions, this person, without any explanation, just handed me a box that I could not use. While I stood there, fumbling with the box and asking him repeatedly for assistance, he just stood by silently and then finally gave me what I needed. My husband apparently also came in to this store today and encountered the same individual. He asked to ship a package and was told that the store was "swamped and out of packing supplies and could not ship his item for a week or two." Given that they sell packing supplies that were clearly visible, this seemed like just a brushoff. If they don't want our service, we'll go elsewhere. read more
