I LOVE this UPS store. The manager is the nicest guy and the entire crew are all so efficient and friendly. This place reminds me of a family run business, everyone is so personal there, always remembering customers. So, its a couple of days before Christmas and there was this man berating the manager today on behalf of his disgruntled wife about tape or something. The manager handled it so calmly and professionally, apologizing repeatedly, explaining policy, despite being humiliatingly scolded during the Christmas rush. It was so bad and obviously untrue because THE ENTIRE store came to the manager's defense. One man in line said that he drives farther just to come to this location because of the manager! I agreed. I said he wasn't even capable of what this man was accusing him of. I come here daily for my business and have been coming here for years because of the manager. Another woman jumped in with similar praise. It was like a scene from Christmas movie. It was kind of nice to see everyone rallying around this wonderful crew! Best UPS store in Austin. read more

I've always have good interactions with staff here, but I have to say I'm totally sick of companies trying to monetize EVERY LITTLE THING. Charging people $3 for five inches of tape is ludicrous and offensive. I get it, that UPS doesn't want to be doing full-on packing services for free, but c'mon- there's a clear difference between adding a tiny extra piece of tape to an already-wrapped package and actual packing service. This trend of companies trying to find any little thing they can charge for - things that used to be free under the rubric of a little thing called 'customer service' - is really off-putting. Wish I could give 0. They've lost 3/3 of my packages this year, those are astounding statistics. And every time it says it's delivered. I live in a house (not an apartment) and I've never had a package lost from any other carrier. No proof of delivery. I hope UPS goes out of business. read more

This store is garbage. It's near my house so I've tried to use it several times, everything from shipping to printing. Every single interaction has been terrible. One time I was overcharged by several dollars, but nobody in the store had the authority to refund it so I had to come back the next day to get a refund when the manager was in. Another time I tried to drop off a UPS package that was mistakenly delivered to my house that was addressed to a different person, and they refused to take it back. Literally just refused. I had to just put it on the floor and walk out. Two separate times they claimed not to have received a email I sent to the store address for printing even though I had proof in my sent mail that it was sent to the right address. Both times they said that sometimes technology just doesn't work. Go somewhere else - not worth it. read more

AVOID! This place is absolutely ridiculous. They charge $3 to tape up a box if it needs extra tape. I said what?! Now just look at the photos to see their job taping my box. It would have spilled its guts in one transfer like the last box I mailed from here which never got to the returns center. That cost me $400. Today I had a prepaid return label from eshakti.com they said wasn't going to work. "Just go over to the computer and print it out from your email"," the rep said. I did. it took approximately two seconds. Then, ha ha: "That'll be $2.21 for the use of the computer." Really, look at the photos to see what a great job they did taping up my box. Hidden charges. Terrible work. And with nasty attitude. I will never be back. Which is too bad, because I live half a mile away. Like a previous poster said, just take your box and drive over to Staples in the older part of Mueller. Or go to the UPS store on 9th and Brazos where they will lavish you with tape and make a damn ice sculpture out of tape if you want it. I was a bit confused. The clerk took my money, took the glasses and glass case I was mailing and said goodbye. I've been to a few UPS stores. Normally there is a scale involved and the attendee boxes and tags the items in front of you. Has the process changed since I've relocated to Austin? Anyways, it gave me a bad feeling. Two employees and one customer (me) and seemingly no effort to ensure integrity and trust. It was glasses.....imagine if I were sending a laptop or jewelry? UPDATE: Sam (the owner of this store) resolved all of the issues that I outlined below in a very sweet email, and he even gave me an extra 3 months on my mailbox rental for free, so I'm a very happy customer again - hence the reason I'm changing the number of stars from 2 to 4. It seems that most of the problems I mentioned were caused by a rogue employee (who didn't follow directions), but he no longer works there. The only tiny criticism I have is that communication could maybe be better between management and the employees. When I went in to pay for my mailbox rental, the employee I spoke to seemed a bit confused, and I had to spend time explaining to him that Sam had told me that I could get 3 months extra rental for free. In the end, this employee didn't end up taking off the late fee, but, whatever, I'm not going to quibble over $5 when I got free rental. It was mainly just a little frustrating that he didn't seem to know 100% what Sam had said. In a nutshell: I'm really happy, and Sam resolved the situation like a pro. ******************************************************************************************* PREVIOUS REVIEW I've had mainly nice interactions with the people in this store, but recently I've started to feel that they're nickling and diming me for the mailbox I rent from them. I'm not sure if this is on purpose, or just because some employees haven't been trained properly. Either way, it's not a nice feeling. (1) I asked for my previous name to be added to my mailbox just in case any mail turns up with that name. They agreed, but didn't tell me that I would be charged $30 for this service. I wish I had known so that I could have then declined the service. I thought my previous name had just been added as a courtesy. (2) I rented the mailbox for 6 months, and then renewed again after 6 months, because I couldn't afford to pay for the yearly rental upfront (I believe there is a discount available if you choose a longer rental period). Unbeknownst to me, I could have opted to pay for the yearly rental on a monthly basis (and gotten the discount), but nobody explained this to me at the time, so I paid for the more expensive 6-month box upfront ($150 + the $30 fee they tacked on without telling me for the "extra name"). (3) The first time the mailbox was due for renewal, they didn't inform me at all, and I actually had to go into the store in June to ask when it would renew (turns out that it was due for renewal in May). I just checked my credit card statement and realized that they charged me a $5 late fee in June - even though they didn't remind me and *I* was the one who had to go into the store to ask about it. Charming! (4) Contrary to the previous experience when they seemed to forget all about my mailbox renewal, when the mailbox was due to renew just a couple of days ago, I received a flurry of reminder flyers in my mailbox in the month leading up to it. There was so many reminders that it was almost obnoxious (and a waste of paper) especially since they were the ones who needed reminding the last time. (5) My mailbox was due for renewal on November 1st, which was 2 days ago. True, I should have gone in to the store to take care of it, but I didn't because I was busy and, truthfully, because I was already annoyed with all the above issues. I was planning on going in on Monday to pay, but I just received a reminder email - and I've been charged the $5 late fee again. Ordinarily, I wouldn't mind paying this, since I am technically at fault, but still...tacking on a $5 late fee after only 2 days seems a bit much. You could give people a week to pay. Also, keep in mind that if I had actually been informed that I could pay a monthly direct debit fee, they would have my credit card on file and this wouldn't be an issue. If you need a simple copy that doesn't involve photos, or a PO Box for your business, this place works just great. If you are looking for a place to reproduce your art project or customer service that values customer loyalty over $35, then I recommend driving a little further to the FedEx office off north I35 near 290. Their printer is higher quality and if you are unsatisfied they will refund you or reprint your order to your liking. I wanted to support this store because it is independently owned by a nice young man, and I also usually enjoy the female manager. Their copy prices are more than fair, BUT when I came back because of a quality issue and wanting a $35 refund, they refused. The manager said I had to wait a week for the owner to come back and let him decide if I could have my money back. As a small business owner, I found this super frustrating. I just don't understand why $35 is worth making a customer return TWICE to get a refund. Plus I have to go to a different print shop to get the quality I desire, and you know what they say, "Time is money." I hope I have time to return in a week, and they honor my refund. I have to say that I this was my first time returning something from amazon. It was super easy. Carlton was extremely friendly and helpful. He asked if I needed help. He noticed my confusion when I printed things out from the computers and immediately informed me that he had my copies. It would've been so easy for him to just dial it in and just let me stress until I asked for help, but no, that's not his game. He even made a point to ask how my experience went with said computers. Just a genuinely pleasant human being that obviously takes pride in the service he provides. This ups store isn't really that close to my house, but I will definitely be coming back just for the quality of service alone. With the way I dress, sometimes I legitimately get treated like a scumbag. Not here. I cannot express my loyalty to this place now enough. read more

Shay was great help when shipping internationally. Unfortunately, I got an address incorrect and the package was stuck in limbo in Canada. UPS online or by phone was not helpful but I finally understood I had to change the address at the store the package originated from. Shay was wonderful! This is the best UPS store I've ever been to. It's always pretty crowded but the lines move quickly and the employees are super attentive and efficient! I never thought I'd feel so strongly about a UPS store that I would want to write a Yelp review, but here I am! I live in the neighborhood and have a bit of an online shopping/returning addiction, so I'm in here A LOT. The staff here is wonderful. Every single employee is helpful and courteous. The best part is that they never make me feel like I'm a burden, even though I'm always just dropping off packages and rarely making purchases. Their customer service has actually made enough of an impression on me that now when I need to mail a package, I go here and am totally ok paying the couple extra bucks over the USPS price...I'm in and out of there quickly and I know I'll be taken care of. The owner of the Mueller UPS store goes out of his way to provide top notch service. I'd heard it from others but experienced it first hand after I failed to get a receipt for returning an expensive item to Amazon.com. Nearly a month went by when Amazon contacted me and claimed they hadn't received the item. I panicked, so was happy to find the e-mail address for the Mueller UPS store online. I wasn't expecting much. However, the next day, Sam Patel, the store owner, e-mailed me the tracking information, including the name of the person at Amazon who signed for the package! To me, this was exceptional service...fast and helpful. I could not have asked for more. read more

I was attacked and thrown out of this UPS store in Austin, Texas, located at: 1801 E 51ST BLDG C STE 365 AUSTIN, TX 78723 by the woman on duty at 1:00pm, Saturday October 8, 2016. I asked for help to make a 400% black and white photocopy enlargement of an 8" x 10" color school photo. There were no other customers in the store. The young woman behind the counter took my photo and began to help me. After several attempts we almost had the entire photo in the enlargement, but she kept making the same mistake over and over (cutting off the bottom of the child's chin in the photo) when trying to make a final copy. I tried to suggest that if she would move the correct size photo up about two inches on the scanner that would no longer cut off the bottom of the child's chin in the photocopy. It was then this UPS employee blew up at me. She was angry and said she didn't know how to use the machines.She then threw my copies and photographs on the counter and told me to: "Take the photocopies you have now and Get Out." I was stunned. I continued to ask for her assistance pointing out there was no one else in the store nor any customers on the phone. She shot back in a dismissive and condescending tone: "Do it yourself or take your stuff and leave the store."She proceeded to ignore my requests for help, taunting me instead. "Buh'by" For reference I then tried to take a picture of the store's business cards that were sitting on the counter. This woman LUNGED at me over the counter and tried to tear my phone out of my hands YELLING "YOU CAN'T TAKE MY PICTURE!" I cannot believe I was subjected to this sort of experience at a UPS store. I have been using UPS for 40 years and never has any UPS employee or any other retail employee I have ever worked with in my entire life has ever told me to do something myself or get out of the store. Nor have I ever been physically assaulted by a complete stranger and employee of UPS. The woman laid hands on me in her attempt to take my phone out of my hands. I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 53 years and my hands are so deformed and crippled I can barely hold my phone. I am stunned, shocked and shaken. I left the store in tears with her taunts of "Buh-by...Buh-by!" ringing in my ears. . This is completely and totally unacceptable, not to mention illegal. read more

Don't believe any positive reviews about this store - they damaged a very expensive laptop which they packed and then gave me the runaround about getting insurance money back which didn't even cover half the damage. All because they didn't document the declared value on their end. I called the store multiple times a week for 2 months, everyone I talked to said they would find out information about my claim and then get back to me. I think someone actually called me back once. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!!! Went there today and got there a few minutes before they were suppose to open. No problem, it was only a few minutes. WRONG.....................the store opened up 15 minutes late. Yes, FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE!!! I had things to do. Then, when I took in my box, the guy was messing with the gate instead of waiting on all of use who congregated outside due to opening late.
