I do not recommend this store at ALL. I went in to have my children's passport pictures taken 5 year old 3 month old, the lady refused to take the newborns picture because she did not want to struggle and made a comment about probably having difficulty taking my 5 year olds picture. Consistency is key in all aspects of business. I regularly ship from this location and sometimes I have a USPS item and since they are not open on Saturdays I will pay the $1 fee to the store so the package can be picked up. Most times the team is willing to help - today they apparently were not in the mood. Stated the box was too big - I expressed this is similar to what they have accepted prior (again no issues except they had accepted this prior and been more than friendly to help) and when I stated that she was like oh well it would sit here until Monday. Have used this store several times to return items and always get helped quickly and efficiently.

Lousy customer service. I have used this location for years to ship my personal packages but will never again. I had a package lost due to a train derailment in August. I filed a claim immediately. I'm still waiting, despite going into the store and talking with the manager 5 times. The last time, in November, I personally waited 45 minutes for the manager to upload the documents, for the 3rd time, and get confirmation from corporate that it was received. Checked in again today and was told again, it was not received. The manager told me this happens all of the time and she refuses to care about it anymore. Where does it leave customers, when managers refuse to care about providing service? It leaves me going to a different UPS store. read more

I went in to drop off an Amazon return. The lady helping me was so rude. It was an unused toilet seat - still in wrapping in original box. (It was wrong shape.) She kept telling me "This is hazmat" at least three times. It's completely unused so I don't know what she is talking about. She rolled her eyes at me and told me Amazon doesn't know what they're doing. Maybe she should address her anger to Amazon instead of a consumer who had no clue. Horrible customer service. read more

I really like this store. I was in there this morning to have some documents faxed and the staff was so nice and helpful. Being Saturday morning the store was busy but I got waited on right away. I have been in this store several times before and it is always efficiently run and well organized. I have shipped items here, sent faxes, made copies, and other things too. The staff is always well informed and handle a multitude of jobs. I have always been impressed with the knowledgeable staff. read more

I love this UPS Store!!!! Once again I came here to drop off 9 packages for return (2 to Macy's and 7 to Amazon), items I've purchased at Christmas time that took me forever to decide to return. What I love about this place is it's the only one open on Sunday!!! I have a few minutes to spare before the Super Bowl starts, so I took my chance. Service is very fast and very friendly, it only took me THREE minutes which included standing in line!!! I hope this store gets the recognition it deserves! They've been there for me the past 10 years I've lived in Castro Valley, CA!!! Kudos to the Staff of this store! You ladies rock! We've come here regularly since moving to CV. The last two years especially though since the pandemic we've come often with online return items and seller's packaging. I am just really impressed by the staff here. Everyone hustles here. I've been in long lines out the door that actually flow pretty easily because they're just efficient and on top of it. Especially through the pandemic, mask protocols or just the early fear we all felt - there's no question in my mind that these folks are part the crews of essential workers we celebrate. They were incredible, professional, and overall reliable. I so appreciate having them in CV as our go to. Just this week, I went to our local post office and was so disappointed by how they talk to you there and they over quoted me on an item to mail. I stopped by the UPS store and not only did I get a better price, I got such better service. I know it's a hard time for everyone, but that extra effort to be respectful and kind means a lot! read more

I'm so thankful to have this UPS store near my house. Every time I come in here, whether it be for an Amazon return or shipping packages, the staff is friendly and helpful. I really appreciate their efficiency in helping solve any issues I may have and how they're willing to go above and beyond no matter what I need. Cora and Janine recently helped me ship multiple computers and even called UPS corporate to make sure they did everything accurately and packed and shipped it all too! Unbelievably rude! We came in today to pack and ship a package. They were overwhelmed and when we entered a rude sales woman said, "I am not packing that" and told a coworker to deal with us. I said, "Well that was not a nice hello". The other women behind the counter was equally rude. Finally a third woman tried to help us but they were unable to get to their boxes. Which was fine -- we understood. However, to be treated so rudely when first walking in is unacceptable. UPS needs to train the two women in customer service. I then drove to the Hayward UPS store and they took care of us in a friendly kind manner. Perhaps these Castro Valley employees should go to Hayward to learn how to treat people respectfully. read more

Make sure that the package says your name on it before you go out of your way to pick it up. Apparently, you cannot pick up packages for your own husband because I was told - NOPE. I guess if the package came with my child's name on it, I won't even be able to pick it up. I mean, you can even pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy for your own spouse nowadays. Come on UPS. And - I have been to the UPS and picked up packages for my husband SEVERAL times before. I guess it depends on the person working. Waste of time. read more

And I can appreciate that a business must make money for the services it provides, however when I stopped by to drop off a pre-paid UPS Ground package for pick up today, I was informed that the use of ten inches of packing tape would cost me a dollar. I went on a Saturday in the afternoon a couple of hours before the store was about to close. The only thing I had to do was drop off a package that had already been pre-paid for with shipping with label in hand. There was a grandmother who was sending 2348729347987 Superman gifts to her grandchild somewhere. While that is perfectly fine and awesome, the lady behind the counter was taking her sweet time while there was a forming line of at least 7-9 people. There was no acknowledgement of our presence, no "thank you for your patience," nothing. It took at least 15-20 minutes of waiting until another UPS worker came in and started to help with the line. Granted, I know how it is to send things to your family but goodness - the grandmother was taking pictures of the entire process - the display of toys on the counter, the UPS worker packing the toys, UPS worker posing with the toys, the packing peanuts, the toys and the packing peanuts, oh my goodness. It was too much. I kept my silence (because patience is a virtue) while the guy behind me was starting to grunt frequently out of frustration. He also said it smelled like a pet store which I can totally agree with. The UPS worker who was helping the grandmother was pretty much training the other girl who got there which took even more time. What should've been a 5 minute trip turned out to be a 30 minute trip all together. They were nice people but they give EXCRUCIATING slow service. read more

I've given this UPS a lot of chances (being a local) and I will do my best never to come back again. They are very understaffed and don't really run very efficiently. The last time I came, I couldn't even purchase a simple packing envelope. There was a group of people in front of me doing something non-shipment related, and I guess there was only 1 person running the store. I stood there, (and the clerk saw me) and waited, and waited...and waited. Finally, I just put the envelope back and left since it's clear that she was willing to ignore me and making a sale wasn't important. Went to Walgreens instead, out in 2 minutes. The time before that, I brought in a package that was accidentally delivered to my home and I wanted to drop it off to return it. Same thing, waited in line FOREVER, because things weren't working for the person in front of me. Finally, I told them why I was there, and the clerk said, "We're not UPS." After giving a frustrating, blank stare, she corrected, "Oh actually, we ARE UPS but you can't return packages here, go to Oakland." Forget UPS. Honestly, USPS is CHEAPER, and moves quicker to process anything. read more

Manager told me I could pay over the phone when my package came back due to a wrong address and ship it right back out. Called in, got turned away by a worker at the store. Called the next day and manager says I have to drive 1hr over to pay in store. Could've just told me I have to pay in store to save me the trouble. read more

I called and asked if I could send them an email with 2 attachments to print for me. They said sure. I came to pick it up and they charged me $2.50 for 2 prints. I asked why so much, I have fed ex print stuff for me all the time and they charge me .13. She said "oh, well technically you would of used our computer station to print this, but it's broken right now." So....you charged me for computer use of a computer that I didn't use? I'm not bitching about the $2.50, their customer service is horrible here. You guys suck! read more

I've had to visit other ups stores in the area but I do believe this is the best one. I've never had a problem with customer service; I don't have one complaint. I appreciate how quick the staff is to process my packages. The parking is convenient and I'm always able to park nearby in case I have many packages or a bulky box to carry to the store. There were times when I didn't have packing tape or didn't have time to stick my shipping label on the box. Not only do they always let me have a piece of tape, they usually just tell me they will take care of it and send me on my way! I love when people help me make my busy, crazy life just a little bit easier to handle. Just a heads up, I will have you know that not every ups store is like this. read more

Hi Stopped in to return Some AT&T Equipment today,was in and out in a little while Store Staff ,Are more than Fantastic customer service the same. They have Dog Treats for their customers four pawed family members. Water Bowl would bee nice. I've Tracking numbers and paperwork for the returned items. I've been here twice in the last couple weeks. First time I walked in because I heard they always have a public notary on duty. Well, she was on break so I came back right as the place was closing up. The young guy working the counter looked like he wanted to leave in a hurry. I couldn't blame him. Luckily the notary was back and she agreed to stay a few minutes after-hours to notarize my document. She was friendly and professional and we got the notarization done in a few minutes. I came in a few weeks later to drop off a pre-paid package. It was quick and painless, no waiting in line. Overall no complaints. read more
