I went here in 1999 for notary services, and left completely dissatisfied. But, I like to give some places another chance - and I've been pleased. For shipping service, I found them helpful for the times I've had to ship something UPS rather than USPS. Last Monday, I went for notary service. Overall, the experience was fine. But, an issue popped up that has happened before: the form I was given to use with the notary was not "worded correctly" so I had to make a choice between two supplemental forms. One form is used to verify the signature belongs to who is says it belongs to, the other is to swear that the information on the form is correct. You could be asked this question and frankly - notaries are really no help in deciding which form because YOU have to say which form. If you can....figure out what is really being notarized (your signature or the truthfulness of the information) before you go in case you are asked. I was glad that hubby met me up there after work as soon as he could get there, because a line of people came in after us also needing notary service (we got there about 4:40pm - and there were 2 notaries on duty - which I thought was good). We needed three signatures notarized. I think it took about 20-30 minutes for the whole process, which isn't too bad. What I didn't like, and this really isn't their fault is that this South Park looking couple (who the heck wears a woolen cap on a hot day?) came in and stood right up against our backs almost the entire time. I could feel the dude breathing on my neck and shoulder. Most documents that need to be notarized are of a private and/or legal nature and I don't particularly like someone looking over my shoulder trying to read my personal stuff. I must note that has been the ONLY time in my adult life that I did not make a scene when someone invaded my personal space. For that....they are lucky because I get all Ninja-Xena on people. I have been known to start swinging my purse around to declare my personal bubble and will hit people with it until they get out of my frickin' bubble. Sometimes, if I'm not totally red-lined, I will ask them to back-off, but that time frame is about 3 seconds before I go crazy. Plus, the older I get, the less patience I have with inconsiderate people. The only things that kept me from going nuts were: 1. My husband was there giving me that "oh Jesus, please don't do it" look, and 2. The girl doing the notarizing was nervous enough with the long line that was forming and I didn't want to scare her. It would be most helpful if there was some PRIVATE spot in the shop where notarizations can take place. I could be back for more notarizing and you really don't want to see me go WWF on another customer for invading my space. read more

I had a mailbox here cause I thought it was a good idea since the ups store excepts deliveries from all carries as opposed to usps that only accepts their mail. The problem with this is that everytime I got something (which is several times a month) that I needed to pick up from the counter it tooks 20-30 minutes to retrieve! There is no assemblance of a line or a queue and every single time I went in there there was always 2-3 customers that took 15-20 minutes each. This last time I was there the manager literally spent 25 minutes talking to this one customer about postcard cardstock while the whole store was crowded. Also there is no assemblance of a line and peole that just walk in seem to walk up to the counter and cut everyone off randomly.there should be a pickup drop off line and special services line to expedite the process. So glad my 6 months was up and I was finally able to cancel my ups box at this location read more

This is the best UPS Store around! I literally live 3 minutes from the San Leandro store but make the trip to Castro Valley every time. The employees are friendly and efficient and I have never had a bad experience! read more

SLOOOOOOOW service. I only had to drop off a package, with a prepaid label, but that took nearly 20 minutes! They wouldn't let me just drop it off like other UPS stores have because I needed a receipt. Such a waste of time! read more

I had 3 USPS packages, all packed with pre-paid labels that I wanted to drop off. I was told I have to pay 1.00 per package to drop off -- it is a "convenience fee" for not having to drive to the post office. The post office doesn't charge the UPS store to pick up the packages and I did all the work in packaging them, putting postage and driving them there so where the "convenience?" Horrible. read more

Its close to Lucky's and where I do laundry. The photocopy is 11 cents per page, the computer usage is $3 minimum, and faxing is $2 per page. And there is a mailbox inside the place. The workers here are friendly and knows what they are talking about. (although might not be great at math) But I love how they will let me break my $20 without buying stuff from them. I was stupid enough to believe the commercials that you could have your items packaged and shipped with accuracy and care from the UPS stores. FAIL. I brought a collection of items intot he store to be boxed and shipped within California - not only has my package NOT arrived at it's destination on the time scheduled - THEY HAVEN'T even handed it over to the UPS truck driver yet! So they have either lost or stolen my package that they were supposed to have had delivered by now. There is nothing that can be said in kindness. I trusted them and have been screwed over - and now my daughter won't have her important items in time for college and the food items in her care package will go bad. read more

I've utilized this store's Notary services a handful of times; often come in when there is quite a wait. This time--not much of a line, fortunately (think the before-work crowd had dissipated)! Cora is pleasant; but was taking phone calls nearly the whole time she was waiting on me (in her favor, I will say she did try to put one of the calls on hold) but then answered another, and was upset that she lost the first caller, until they called back?! I should not be privy to all of this, thank you very much! I had called earlier in the am, got a message, so had to wait to get my Q. answered (as I was not there in person--as it should be)! Once I am there IN PERSON, I come before the calls. Apparently this cordless phone is the business #. So it took double the time it should have to wait on me--she also stopped to help the person at the register with something during (& unrelated to) my transaction. Is some training in order here?!--i.e. tell the co-worker at the register you'll help in just a minute, as you're copying my 2-page doc to send me on my way! Also I didn't feel confident that she was doing my paperwork correctly, as she was distracted by phone calls the entire time. She didn't tell me why she was needing to copy a second form for me--I twice questioned the reason for doing so, when ignored the first time, I walked over to the copier where she was--& asked again! Once I got the 2nd copy, I could see why (the first page didn't have the stamp I expected), but had she just communicated that with me initially, it would have avoided that misunderstanding and frustration! Obviously, if I have to follow you to get an answer to a question, that is some pretty obvious negative feedback. Business owner: please train your staff to give in-person customers the benefit of their undivided attention & courtesy to begin with; leaving more time for to those callers to follow. I've had a mailbox here for many years. I am always greeted by respectful, professional, friendly and helpful staff that take pride in their work. I've never had a package lost, or broken. terrible customer service - they were supposed to ship back my ATT equipment because they partner with ATT. They couldn't give me a tracking number the same day but promised to email it to me. They never did, even after repeat phone calls. Then ATT claims to not have received the box for 6 weeks. Now I'm wasting hours of my time with Sarah and Cora and get nothing but a runaround and still don't have a tracking number. Time to get the BBB involved read more

This buy far has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had when it comes to sending a package, I dropped off my package Saturday morning it is now Wednesday and the package has still not left the store, I am absolutely distraught to think my package is sitting in a store location when it was supposed to have been delivered yesterday I can't believe in the incompetence in the managers of the store for allowing something like this to happen on a worldwide establishment like this and the lady had the nerve to tell me the package did not leave cause they were busy what does them being busy have to do with the packages leaving PLEASE HELP ME MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE, I'm disgusted at this moment with the staff and service as a patron and on a human level, I will never in my life visit this store again and I will share my story with as many people as I can to make sure then never visit this store as well...... read more

He is a geat help to my family with Notary services, and was particularly so and very patient with my elderly mother when we needed to bring her in. Great place to do LiveScan! Called ahead to see if they do walk-ins in on a Saturday and they said yes. Came in 10 mins later and was warmly greeted by Jenee! She is so sweet and thoughtful with the LiveScan procedure; explained to me what she had to do with my fingerprints, scanning each finger carefully. She also made sure that my request paper was filled out properly. The entire process took less than 15 minutes. Very memorable first Livescan experience! Would come here again if needed :) read more

This UPS Store is my "go-to" store for returning packages, for mailing packages, and for notary services. I love their hours, I will forever be thankful that they are open Sunday afternoons!!! Service is fast, the line --if there is a line --- is never longer than 6 people, and they're taken care of promptly! The employees are very friendly and efficient. I was impressed that I could set up an appointment for notary services at 10pm at night, and actually get an appointment at 10am the next day!!! The wait here is ridiculous!!! Today was the last straw though. We walked in to an empty store to get two documents notarized. The one person up front went back to speak to the notary, came back out and said 5 minutes. While she was very polite, we waited for 15 minutes watching the store fill up. When I finally asked again, the notary person was helping another client and totally forgot about us. I was there with my husband and two young girls (4 and 1). Not sure how they didn't notice us standing on the side, documents on the counter, NOT being helped. After we paid, there was no apology for the wait. NEVER going to this store again. read more

I waited for 20 minutes before the incompetence child behind the counter even thought to address the 8 additional guests waiting in line. After dealing with his gross behavior, I waited an additional 20 minutes. I threw the poor print job on the table and walked out. I was here for a FUNERAL and literally had the simplest of needs. I avoid this store whenever possible. Every time I go there, the staff is rude and unprofessional. Customer service is clearly not their concern. Shouting at customers to get out, ignoring you while you are standing in line and they are in the back, chatting with each other while helping a customer, the list goes on. read more

I just went here to get an I-9 form authorized for a new employer. The woman here told me, "no notary is allowed to notarize an I-9 form in the entire state of California." I was skeptical, so I did a search on the Internet and found that to be an inaccurate statement, because the notary is acting as an authorized agent and signing, not notarizing the I-9. I was about to give up and tell my employer that when I found a notary at the Postal Annex in Hayward by Safeway that completed my I-9 with a friendly attitude. Bad service is one thing, but feeding inaccurate information is a major fail. It could've really screwed me up. I also went here a couple of times before and had a feeling that they were overcharging too, but didn't really think about it. Never going here again. read more

I called in the other day to ask about laminating services, they are a bit pricey but not too bad. I came in to get a business card sized paper document laminated which should have been just $2.00 but since it was "slightly bigger than a business card" she "had to go up to the next price" of the 6"x9" price. Which is completely ridiculous because what I had is NO WHERE NEAR 6"x9". WHEN WE SAY "SLIGHTLY BIGGER" IT WAS PROBABLY NO MORE THAN 1/8 OF A CENTIMETER LARGER THAN WHATEVER THE "REGULAR SIZED BUSINESS CARD" IS. How DARE that old bat be super literal and rude like that. She better be lucky it was just 50 cents or I would have went off on her. Even if it was slightly bigger it was so obviously it was about the size of a business card, not a 6"x9" document. I went home to put it up back to back to business cards and it was basically identical except for the plastic Lamination that makes it slightly larger! THAT LIAR! I'm still considering talking to the manager about it. It's not about the money it's about the principal. read more

Short lines for whatever you need and the staff is quite friendly. Besides the usual packages that I have to send out, I've even bought Buisness cards from them and they were more than helpful! The gal with the blond curly hair helped me figure out how to get them on time for a conference when the store ran out of paper. read more

I have been here twice to notarize a few documents, each time I have been there I had a different noter. There is an older woman and a younger lady. The older woman was very knowledgeable of how to notarize my statement, she was quick, and got me in and out of the store. The second time I went the younger lady helped me, she was pretty slow, and even asked me if I was supposed to sign or print my name and also where the placement was supposed to go. I am not a noter so I had no clue. You would think that a noter would remember how to notorize your statement or letter, i just thought she was unprofessional and u knowledgeable of her work. read more

I walked into the store and got in line at 855am. I was third in line. It was finally my turn at about 934am. I told the female clerk I needed to do the livescan fingerprinting for my job. She said ok then asked the other people in line who had just a drop off. She helped 6 people before coming back to me. It was not 957am. It took her forever to type in my information. She then had trouble rolling my prints. After about 15 mins I said forget it and left. This was a horrible experience and horrible customer service. read more

Just to let you know this store's policy which is typed on lament 8x10 paper all over the store "UPS drop off customers can not drop off a package, must wait in the line." I had not been in this location for a while, so I did not know they had changed their policy, I went to the front of the line and asked to drop of my package, I was not even responded to, the clerk just point at the sign on her register, then she pointed at the sign on the wall, and the other signs that were around the store...Rude... If I wanted to read, I would have brought a book. I decided to just wait in the line that was too the door, how long could it take right? It took 30 mins to get through the line, and my package already had a printed label! Horrible policy for a franchise, I would much rather go to another location. read more
