Let me tell you, friends. When you walk in this specific UPS store, you may see a long line. However, this "long line" is merely an illusion and the line moves so fast that you'll be in and out in less than 5 minutes due to the care and speed of no one other than Willis. The fact of the matter is times are tough for shipping companies due to the difficulties of covid, competition, and a multitude of other factors resulting in a reduction of revenue to UPS. That doesn't stop Willis from being the A-star of this location. Willis will multitask and help multiple customers at once while being the only employee on site. He knows all there is to know about UPS services and gives everyone the attitude and attention they deserve based on how they treat him which is excellent a majority of the time. One specific example I can recall is when I stood behind 7-8 people in line and before you know it I was at the front of the line in 3 minutes. That's how fast Willis moves and makes sure your time is as valuable as his time. He also took the opportunity to help a young woman print her resume on-site and told her that "this was her year" and "she will get the job if she stays optimistic" all with his charming, warm smile and laughter. Over the five years I have been in Charlotte, I have been to this location at least 15 times. Out of those many visits, each time I see Willis, he is always at the top of his game. Went to this store and it was packed with customers. They had one clerk working, count 'em 1, yep. He was all over the place speaking with and helping everyone and clearing the packed store pretty quickly (cause when I first walked in I thought I was gonna be there all day!) I asked him if he was working alone and he said he was but he was hoping someone was coming in at 2pm to help. He said his name was Willis and he was happy to help you in any way he could. So I told him what I was there for and stood back and watched him go. Willis greeted ever single person who enter and wished every one leaving a blessed day. He whisked from the counter to other machines he needed to use taking pictures and making fingerprints, then back to the counter etc. And he kept that up the entire time I was there with a smile or his face--never complained or acted annoyed with so many people all wanting his attention at the same time. I was out of there in 15 minutes and he must have waited on at least 10 other customers while I was there. He was an absolute gentleman and sweetheart. UPS needs to clone this man and if they can't do that they need to give him a big raise cause he's doing the work of 3 people singlehanded and without any unpleasantness. AMAZING!!!! read more

I had an appointment to have my fingerprints taken at this location via Fieldprint. Unfortunately, I have very naturally sweaty hands which makes it incredibly difficult for the electronic sensor to get correct reads on my fingers. Mr. Willis absolutely saved me. Because of my sweaty palms we had to keep trying over and over to get the fingerprints into the system, and without Mr. Willis' patience and determination it would have never happened, and I would have never gotten this job. While I was there - and I was there for about half an hour because it was so difficult to get all of my fingerprints taken - he not only dealt with me and my problems but helped every single customer that walked in with friendliness and professionalism. I watched him help a dozen people and it was clear to me that not only does he know everything there is to know about shipping/etc but he genuinely cares about his customers. He was absolutely crushing it. I saw him be polite and helpful to unfriendly customers, outgoing to what i assume were regulars and he just completely killed it. I'm never going to go anywhere else for my shipping or printing, and UPS is lucky to have him on their staff. read more

I came in to this location needing a notary after buying my first car. Having unsuccessful visits to two banks and a fedex, I was finally helped at this location by Willis. I may not have had his full attention at first, but that was understandable - as the only one working, he would let me know what information i needed to fill out on the title, then continue helping the other line of customers, checking back in with me when he could. When i was ready to finalize everything, he thoroughly went through my info with me and had a friendly conversation about the car i bought, and i was on my way. I definitely recommend this location for Willis's prompt, knowledgeable service, and his eagerness to make a positive impression on customers. However, while Willis seemed to be doing a great job running this place on his own, I'm sure the store could benefit from increasing staffing as covid restrictions begin to lift for the sake of wait times, because there's only so much one person can do. read more

This is my first "Yelp" review ever, but I had to post about my experience today with this UPS store. I had to have my fingerprints done, for a perspective new job, to which the company sent me to this store. I know everything has turned upside down with the global pandemic and all businesses are making adjustments, but this store today had an employee who went above and beyond. The employees name is Willis and this man had it going on. He was efficient, assured everyone in a timely manner, was polite, courteous, kind, worn a smile on his face, did not appear stressed by all the people, and handled everyone's business accurately and respectfully. I have never seen a UPS employee act so efficiently. I asked his name, before I left, so that I could write this review and give him the praise he deserves. Today I visited the UPS Store in University City (Charlotte, NC) for finger printing services. This was one of the most stellar experiences I've ever encountered! I had the pleasure to be serviced by Mr. Willis! It became quickly obvious that he was no stranger to perfection! I was greeted with such kindness and hospitality. This store received a high volume of clients today and this gentleman received each client professionally and serviced them efficiently. I had the opportunity to briefly speak with Mr. Willis. Let me just say he is the heart of this store and this community. He is loved by many! It's refreshing to be able to walk into a public business and not be discriminated according to my ethnicity. I've been here many times, and overall, the store is fine. However, just as other reviews mention, Willis is great. I came in the other day with an Amazon return, and they apparently gave me the wrong return label, so that it would charge me for the return. Willis told me to contact Amazon for a QR code for UPS, and to tell them that the guy at the UPS store said that's what I needed. I called, and they didn't want to give it to me, but once I said that, they gave it to me right away. I went back to UPS, and Willis was there again. He even remembered me and cheered when the QR code worked. It's obvious that be knows his stuff and wants customers to have a great experience. I was frustrated at first that I had to leave and talk with Amazon, but once they said ok, I realized that Willis had made my experience as seamless as possible, even with a company he doesn't work for! read more

I set an appointment online through First Advantage for my fingerprints to be taken for a background check for a new job. Willis was the only store representative on site at that time and, even though he had his hands beyond full, it was clear that we were dealing with a pro Multi-tasker in Willis. He was so swift and efficient at taking my fingerprints (even though I absentmindedly applied hand cream just as I was walking into the store). While the system was loading my results, he was able to continue assisting another customer who was dropping off over 6 boxes for shipment and help a third customer get set up to use the in-store computer equipment. Willis was the epitome of professionalism and excellent customer service. I will continue to make this location my first stop for all of my future UPS needs. read more

This morning I had an appointment for fingerprinting for a new job position. Fortunately things were being ran by Willis! As I informed him personally, I have a background in hospitality and hotel front desk work; and it was truly amazing to see someone multi-task so effortlessly and professionally. Every time it seemed like he had a second to spare in order for him to assist me, the phone would ring, and yet another customer would enter the store. However, Willis simultaneously ensured that I knew I was not forgotten about, the order of service remained in tact, and all customers were provided with substantial customer service. Okay! Let me start off by saying Mr. Willis is doing his thing in this store. I walked in with a line almost to the door and just knew this would be an inconvenience. But Mr. Willis got the line down in about 5 minutes. Still delivering top notch customer service to every customer he came in contact with, Providing them with the best options, Creating rapport with the biggest smile on his face! I have never in my life had so much trouble with UPS. Yesterday I was supposed to have a package delivered which I had expedited. I had been waiting for it all day only to check the status of it saying that they attempted to deliver it which is a lie because the front office was open for them to deliver it. Call to complain and was on the phone for so long only to get nothing accomplish. They were supposed to re-attempt the delivery the same day and I saw nothing of The package and the next day they were supposed to try to deliver it again but literally sent it to the UPS store. Mr. Willis at the store is THE BEST! I called to ask about manual finger printing and he told me to come on in and we would work me in. I was anticipating a long wait but I needed to get it done so didn't mind waiting. I arrived and there was in fact a long line, and more people were joining it all the time. It became clear that Mr. Willis was the only one working, but he didn't lose his cool at all! He was respectful and spoke to people as they came in and did the quick tasks while making sure I knew he hadn't forgotten about me. I rarely find myself in a UPS (or similar) because they're typically a headache and I prefer to manage all things online - when possible. However I walked In to store 1507 and was greeted by Willis, the only person working the store. Willis was an absolute pleasure to interact with! The store got busy during the after-work hour I found myself in the store, but Willis was able to politely and efficiently handle many customers in the few minutes it took my fax to send off. I go to this UPS store just for Willis. There was a long line, but Willis kept it moving. He was efficient and more important he was friendly and provided excellent customer service throughout. Multi-tasking at it's absolute finest! If you ever need to go to the UPS store, go to the one on University just for Willis, as he always has the customers' best interests at heart and always has a smile on his face. I came to this location to get fingerprinted for a new job around 11:10am. Willis had a flood of people to come in the store around that time. He Multi-tasked like something I have never seen before. I really felt it should have been two people working to handle the volume. Willis handled the pressure better than I could have imagined. This is one of the best customer service experiences I've had ever. Mr Willis is very knowledgeable and does what he can to help customers even when they are missing steps in the process to send a packages. He assist them with getting their process correct in order to meet their needs before leaving the store. He handles every customer with high quality customer service and efficiency whether it's 1 customer or 21 customers in the store. Visited this store last week to be fingerprinted before starting some contract work with a large corporation. Willis was the only employee working on this weekend morning, but he multitasked well, acknowledged each customer who entered, and didn't leave anyone waiting more than a minute. He was extremely organized and quite pleasant, despite the fact that the third-party fingerprint processing company had not sent confirmation of my appointment.
