I've always been told this was a nice UPS Store to deal with but after today's experience, I'd say not. Maybe I'm just used to the FedEx store around the corner from my office near John Wayne. I would expect, like FedEx, the other carriers USPS, DHL & UPS would be similar in what they had to offer when it came to customer service and packing materials. Of those 4 named, apparently UPS is the only one not to offer branded boxes or envelopes, unless purchased. The store has an older woman acting as manger and a younger girl there. I am shipping out a laptop, and some new business cards for my company and they provided printed UPS shipping labels. Since I only had FedEx boxes and shipping envelopes I drove over to this UPS store on Bristol Street, in Costa Mesa to procure some. The customer service, or lack thereof was apparent from the start with no greeting of any type offered when I entered. I said I was looking for shipping materials like FedEx has and was told there were none. I asked about their shipping envelops on the counter that stated "The UPS Store" on them but was told I had to purchase them. Five of those flimsy envelopes cost over $12 dollars! I asked for five of the clear self-adhesive label holders so I could place my printed labels in and was told no. There was stack of them on the counter, and I offered to buy them and was still told no. When asked how I should affix my label to the envelope, she shrugged her shoulders and said I should tape it. Fortunately, as I'm in upper management with my company, I do have some input as which vendors we should use when working with our 260 employees. This is such a great UPS Store location! Located off of Bristol and Red Hill (in the shopping center with McDonalds and Starbucks down the street from Ganal Lumber) there is always plenty of parking and the employees are super nice here - like really nice where they'll open the door for you if they see you carrying lots of packages. So nice! Sometimes there is a line but it always moves fast and I feel this store is more efficient than others. The only bummer is that it opened at 8:30am instead of 8:00am (I have another favorite UPS store and that one also opens at 8:30am - it seems like the best stores open at 8:30am) so I just wait until it opens. The good news is there's an awesome bagel store in this same shopping center so if I get to the UPS store early after dropping my kids off at school then I can just grab a bagel while I wait for them to open. I've come here about 3 times. The staff is just not welcoming, it's like I'm bothering them to return something lol. They talk amongst each other as if they were in school chatting about their life stories in the hallway. Def won't be coming back to this location. I think it's family owned because the woman asked the gentleman a question and he said he would need to ask his family. Don't work customer service if you're not providing or like giving good customer service. read more

Place smells like straight up butt. Dude was also unfriendly too (maybe mute, can't confirm). Can get past unfriendly service, but not the fragrance of butt. Also, weigh the flippin package so the receipt shows it. Not doing that is a dumb policy opening people up for fraud. read more

Stephen is an absolute MVP! Not only was he able to track down a late package that got sent offsite, he called and talked to their manager and got them to find it and send it back when they (the hotel) told me to first get them a prepaid shipping label. Stephen has single handedly made my year as the package held sentimental keepsakes. Peggy was also wonderful as she first helped me out with the initial overnight shipping. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. I brought a camera lens for them to pack and ship last December and they stole it. The lens and box never left the store and UPS subsequently screwed me on the insurance claim. Even though their own store was left responsible to pack and ship said item. Be warned. This store is dishonest and UPS' insurance a complete fraud. Use FedEx instead. I have tracking info, proof, receipts, etc. that this item was entrusted to this location. Be warned, this store will *steal* your stuff. Very serious accusations, I realize but I have every bit of proof I can substantiate these claims. read more

These guys went out of their way to help me and they didn't have to! I wasn't prepared and they helped me pack, protect, tape, and print shipping label that was billed to a company account -- all while they were pretty busy with a rush of packages that came in at the same time. I didn't get his name but he prioritized my service and asked if I was ready (I wasn't!) before helping someone else. Great example of real customer service, refreshing, especially in OC. Odd customer service here. I came in today to drop off two Amazon returns and a pre-labeled box. There was a white woman in front of me with a tote full of Amazon returns, some of which she did not properly initiate. The employee was super nice and patient with her and told her to take her time. She eventually stepped aside to fix the wrong returns she initiated and a black girl cut in front of me to ask if she could use the wifi. The employee, again, responded to her super nicely and completely ignored me. When he was done with her, he finally started scanning my items. No acknowledgement. No kind demeanor. Not a word said to me. When he finally did speak to me, it was to tell me that he had accidentally scanned my items with the first lady's returns so he had to tear my receipt, and quite clumsily might I add, to exclude out her returns...not sure why I was treated differently than the other two women but definitely won't be coming back to this location. read more

I never leave reviews but my experience was so bad I had to write this to save people the trouble of dealing with this store. I paid for a PO Box and none of my mail was delivered, and the employees never once tried to help me figure out what was happening. They kept insisting it was my fault and were really rude about it. I confirmed that I wrote the address exactly as the store instructed. I had to resend invoices to 30+ clients multiple times, and payments to my business were delayed by months. Each time I came in to check for mail, the employees would repeat that nobody else had issues with their mail and there's nothing they can do about it. Turns out the mailman was delivering my mail to the neighboring suite because of the way their box numbers work. The box number was 110 and the suite was 101. The mailman was delivering to suite 110. Even after discovering this was happening, the employees continued to be rude and told me it's not their problem. I asked for a refund because I bought a mailbox that doesn't receive mail... the employees told me we don't give refunds. I said I wanted to speak to the owner. They said he'd call me. I waited over 4 weeks and had to go back into the store and ask again. The owner finally called and told me I was being rude to the employees. Turns out that the employees I dealt with are related to the owner. He offered me a $50 store credit. So basically i paid $360 for a mailbox that doesn't receive mail, rude employees telling me it's my fault, and countless wasted hours dealing with this situation, and i get $50 worth of packing tape for my troubles. I've never been so upset with a business. read more

BE AWARE: if you are shipping out pre-paid labels to return clothes (Calvin Klein) and shoes (StockX), UPS will charge you an absorbent amount for the boxes, shipping materials, and to pack it themselves. Total for 2 small boxes: $27.00. If I had a choice, I would NOT use UPS, rather stay with the better, faster, cheaper, and more reliable company, FedEx. Customer service was great! Company's hidden fees suck! Note to self: use boxes from Amazon and package myself. Save $27.00 and use it to tip Service workers :) read more

I absolutely love shippings things from this location. All of the staff is extremely helpful and kind. There is never a long line, and the location is very convenient. They even took a USPS package for me once, and even though they couldn't provide me with a receipt, it was shipped promptly and without issue. When opened it, I checked with the store owner whether the recipient could be the my company name, the owner confirmed that as long as the box# is correct, the name doesn't matter. Then, I signed it for a year contract. The first delivery was successful. However, they rejected all the following deliveries, three times at least. The man there said the recipent name had to be the name in the contract that was different from I heard from the owner when sign the contract. The money of the year lease doesn't matter but this make me feel like this is a scam. This is not the correct way to run your business. Really not recommended. read more

This UPS store deserves ZERO stars. I think it might just be the girl who works there who never wants to do her job. I do a ton of Amazon shopping which comes with a decent amount of returns. I brought a package to return and I always select no box or label needed. This package I never even opened, I accidentally bought 2 of the same thing. So still completely packaged up and she tells me I have to buy a box and print out my own label. When I show her I don't need to she argues and says she doesn't have to do what it says. I'd rather drive farther and go to the one at baker and harbor. They at least do their jobs. read more

Then, she stated what she thought my needs were and helped me to get an invoice printed, my check attached appropriately and a secured mail sent out. This UPS Store is a true gem. I'm so grateful I discovered this location. Before I would drive all over to any UPS but I noticed that the employees were not very nice at the other locations. Then I discovered this location. They are fairly new and located conveniently next to an amazing bagel shop, Starbucks and chipotle with a gas station nearby. Not only is this location perfect but it is the only place I've been to where the employees are kind and do not give me a hard time for having multiple Amazon returns. Every time I've been each employee I've encountered is very friendly and it is a pleasure to come here. Additionally I've witnessed that they are willing to help their customers pick the best size of shipping package if they need those type of services as well. This store is family owned and that makes it even that much better to me to know that my small business helps supports theirs! I hope next time you are needing a UPS that you stop by here! read more
