Came on a Friday around 5pm. As I was driving to the Plaza and noticed the traffic I thought maybe it wasn't a good idea. Sure enough there was a wait and a line out the door. On the plus, even when busy plenty of parking here. I was actually glad to realize that the line outside was because they were trying to limit the number of people inside to 6. I didn't have to wait too long (about 5 minutes). Once inside, the worker Jacqueline, was friendly and helpful. I shipped two repurposed cases of wine to LA with my crocheted scarves, beanies, and blankets because what else is there to do during this quarantine. Each box was about $20. So glad that I chose to ship with UPS over USPS because the wait at the post office is usually a pain especially around the holidays. read more

Love this store so much! I drive past another UPS to get here because they are always very helpful and don't charge a dollar to help tape your package. I've been here well over thirty times the past year for amazon returns. Today Skyler helped me, they always work fast and are friendly. I have seen Several rude customers today including one today refusing to wear his mask, very rude to everyone making the elderly nervous- and yelling that he was going to fart and see if the staff could still smell it through their mask. He said he was going to write a negative review and that made me realize I should write a positive one. It should not be okay to berate and yell at staff, if you have issues with a policy- message the company. read more

Last Friday (6/23/23) I sent some very time-sensitive materials to the US State Dept using the UPS Store at El Cerrito Plaza. I paid for it to be delivered Tuesday morning, 6/27/23, and I pre-paid for return overnight delivery. Total cost was $108. It's now two days since the envelope was supposed to have been delivered. Having received no acknowledgement from the State Dept, I tracked the package at the UPS website. According to UPS Tracking, the package never left the UPS Store at El Cerrito Plaza. My conclusion is that they lost my envelope in the store. Today (Thursday) I go to the store and when I tell the manager my story, before she does any investigation, she snaps back at me "Of course it left the store." There was absolutely no way that she could have known that the envelope left the store, unless she herself loaded that envelope on the truck last Friday and remembered that one envelope specifically. Rather she was just reflexively, and unpleasantly, defensive. I asked for a refund of both the outgoing and return services because now, due to their incompetence, I have to go somewhere else and resubmit my forms to the State Dept. I am still inside a narrow window for getting my documents approved and returned, and that window is not going to widen just because UPS Store at El Cerrito lost my documents. Instead of issuing me a refund, the manager told me that I had to wait to see if UPS ever found the envelope. That is not an option for me. I don't have the luxury of waiting for the UPS to say that they can't find an envelope that the UPS Store failed to ever put on a truck. When I pushed back, the manager resorted to claiming that the UPS Store was not part of UPS - that they were independent contractors which is complete nonsense. UPS Stores are wholly owned by UPS. She then decided to highlight the very fine print in their document and asserted this to be absolution of her store's responsibility (essentially saying "It's UPS's problem, not the UPS Store's.") Here's my summary: UPS Store lost my documents and the UPS Corporation failed to deliver as promised. I can't wait for them to complete a search so I have to pay for these services all over again. The manager refused to refund my money. She was not remotely apologetic for losing my documents, nor was she in any way accommodating, however she was able to muster the energy to be defensive and dismissive. She misrepresented the situation, telling me that the UPS Store was not part of UPS. And I am fairly confident she continued to lie when she said that she has no manager and she reports to no one at UPS. Positive note: the other staff were friendly. Great service! I was in there today with my infant sending off a few packages. The staff were very helpful and informative about their services. Even with a customer yelling loudly in the store, the male clerk working with me stayed calm and was able to deescalate the situation by offering them solutions. Then he was able to pivot and finish up with me quickly. Really wonderful staff! read more

Like the below reviews stated awful customer service and absolutely no remorse shown whatsoever by the employees here. Called them at 1:30pm to see if I can get a life scan service performed. Was told no need for appointment as long as I come in by 4pm. Same day I show up at 3:20pm, stand in line for like 20 min while they take forever to ship out a return of a att home service equipment and look for a packs age for someone else. Once at the counter the lady goes: oh we don't perform this service today because we short stuffed. I tell them that I called less then 2 hours ago and you said come on in. They go well we have 2 people quit today so we won't be doing this service till Friday at best. What a load of BS. 2 people quit in last 2 hours since I called!!!! There is 2 people in the store already. Never seen 4 people work a small UPS store in my life. 2 at the most. Anyways not only they refused to provide service they told me they would but also came up with ridiculous excuse to tell me off. As the matter of fact the time it took to get dang att equipment shipped off is exactly how long it would take them to get life Scan performed. I know the process and it's pretty quick. I had a document I needed notarized urgently. The store is open until 6:30pm. I arrived at 6:05pm. The employee told me they stop offering that service at 6pm, because they get busy with all the people dropping off packages before the 6:30 UPS pickup. This cutoff time is nowhere listed on their website. I informed him of that, and asked, since it's only 5 minutes past, and this cutoff isn't specified on their website, could they please do it--this was very urgent and important for me. Nope. I asked why package customers were more important than notarizing customers in the last 30 minutes of the store being open--given that both probably have urgent items, and I was in line. No answer--"Come back tomorrow." "I'm missing an urgent deadline because you didn't state something clearly on your website." He shrugs. You could have taken 5 minutes to provide a service advertised with no special time restrictions on your site. Instead you get a 1-star review forever. Was that tradeoff really worth it? read more

My husband went there yesterday and got passport pictures (for immigration purposes) and the pictures were badly taken. It was so bad that our lawyer told my husband immigration wouldn't take those pictures and it could affect our process. Not only the pictures taken, a simple passport picture, was completely out of the measurements of a passport picture, after my husband went back there today to complain they told him to bring a letter from immigration saying the pictures were rejected. What a freaking joke this UPS is. Not returning to this location. read more

I had a terrible experience with ups , they are the worst company to do business with. They lost my package and for four months they tortured me till they respond , and then they only paid for 2/3 of the money I spent on merchandise they even didn't return the money they charged me for shipping which was 540.00 dollars . This is the UPS store I drop off most of my packages at and I'm glad to say that the staff is always very friendly. I like the fact that this place is never busy and that I'm always greeted with a hello and have a great day. I guess from past experiences dealing with the postal service and other postal carriers I expect less than great service, but not here. Every package I drop off gets delivered and I'm always given a receipt before I leave, so that I can track it to it's destination. In a nutshell I love this store and they make my job super easy. This UPS store is a godsend. My mom needed some documents notarized today. I looked up nearby locations that had a notary. UPS popped up. Parking was ample, especially handicapped. I went in and a very welcoming employee named Cora Angel assisted me with the process. Her name suits her well. She IS an angel! She treated my mom with patience and kindness, making sure that the process was correct. My mom was so happy with the manner in which Ms. Angel handled everything. I needed to have some documents notarized with very little notice, and I got to the UPS Store about a half hour before closing. Once we printed the documents, it was clear that there was a lot more work to do than I'd initially expected. Ms. Labra, the manager and Notary Public, and her staff could not have been more accommodating, keeping the store open for an extra half hour in order to help me get everything done. read more

Went by in person....same bad attitudes. They should feel lucky they have a job given the millions that are now unemployed. Of all the UPS stores I've visited, this one has the friendliest, most helpful and patient employees. What a pleasant surprise! They are conscious of keeping the line moving, but making sure everyone gets what they need. Bubble wrap, boxes, tape, mailers... even notary, they've got ya covered. Did you know you can drop off USPS mail here too? They pick up every afternoon, makes it so convenient to only make one mail stop and get everything done. You should BYO tape, but they've been generous letting me use theirs too :) read more

I generally have a very good experience in this store with all employees except one. This is my second encounter with this employee in a span of 3 months. She is always giving customers a hard time, refusing to accept certain returns stating it's wrongfully packed ( when the exact same return is accepted by another ups store a mile away) And making comments based on her judgements. This place is the worst. Walked in at 4:20 on a Saturday for a notary on one piece of paper with two signatures. Completely empty store. Not one other customer and they were already counting out the drawers for closing. If you aren't familiar with that term it means they were shutting the store dow. About forty minutes prior to the closing time by shutting down one of the registers. They immediately say "we don't do notaries this close to closing,". I looked around at the empty store and asked even if it's just two signatures? They let me know that most notaries "don't even do that". I am a notary for the state of California so I have no idea what this means. Then they changed the story to "we don't do notaries within a half hour of closing". I looked at the clock and said "really?!?" They then changed it to "one hour weighing closing, no notaries,". The woman counting the drawer wouldn't even look at me and my fiancé. I will not go back and see what the Secretary of State has to say about all of this. Good riddance. read more

Well I would imagine aUPS stores is a UPS Store. This Branch however seems to have a problem with inconsistency amongst its employees. If you need a document notarized I would suggest that you try someplace else. The people inside have no idea as to what constitutes a legal document and what does not constitute a legal document. I've been here several times to have documents notarized as part of a lawsuit. Each time I've come the rules have changed. The fee is the same Statewide however I'm sure any place other than this facility can handle your business more professionally. The best example I could give is on today's visit I had to have another settlement document notarized. The clerk insisted that he had to see a cover letter from my attorney detailing it the confidential amount of the settlement. The cover letter is not part of the document that I'm having notarized so ever he insisted that he had the right to see it. I have course refused to show it to him and had to leave and find another place. Major fail. read more

I just got a new mailbox here recently, and it took longer than expected because of an honest mistake. Both Skyler and her manager was very patient and kind through the whole process.
