For several years now, I have had this store produce the thick Recital booklet I distribute to the families whose students perform in my Recital. It's always an enormous order (85 comb-bound copies of 60-or-more pages, with see-through front cover and plastic back cover), and I have never received anything but a FLAWLESS job...and well in advance of the deadline I requested. I have been using this UPS store for awhile now and employees always efficient , helpful and friendly - that is until today. THere was a tall, brown/blonde hair young man who was dealing with a customer at the curb about label issues. I am opening door to walk into business and he just about plows me over to get in - so obviously I held the door for him - NO thank you to which I loudly said YOU ARE WELCOME, which illicit no response and he was rude to his co-worker (lovely women). This young man needs some serious classes in how to deal with customers because he was acting very childish !!! Will think twice about going to this UPS store again !!! read more

I have been going to this store for years and the manager/supervisor that is regularly there has to be one of the grumpiest and laziest people I have come across. If you need something boxed or packaged it is always an inconvenience to him. Today I went in and asked what my options were to ship a set of lithium batteries. He told me it can't be done, I need a special account, they need to be taken to a commercial location, and all the reasons in the world why it's not possible. I called another UPS across town and they said bring them in and they'll ship them no issues, even gave me a quote over the phone. I have used this UPS store frequently and have always been treated with respect and received excellent customer service. They patiently tape up my return boxes and chat pleasantly while doing so. Once, I left a package with them and went home to email them the label. When they didn't receive the label, the manager brought the package backfrom to my house on his way home. I have depended on this store for years. We moved and I came here doe boxes and packing. During Hurricane Katrina I mailed packages to those who lost everything and the store was packed and the employees were gracious in helping. Now I count on them for my Amazon returns and I'm completely baffled by the customers who walk in with nothing packaged, expect the employees to pack their items, don't have or understand the shipping label...today I witnessed employees trying their hardest to pack up some man's returns (not their job!) while a line formed and people in line started complaining! While located conveniently in the heart of Fairport, and the store itself is small and tidy, the service given to my sister and I was incredibly slow and unapologetic. Don't get me wrong, the staff were nice, but they bounced from one customer to the next instead of just sticking with one customer at a time until they fully completed their order. It was frustrating to say the least. Took 15 minutes to send one fax...and no one had been inline before we walked into the store but we ended up having to wait for two other customers to be taken care of until we could finish up completing our fax and paying for it. More attention on customer service would improve the overall customer experience greatly. read more

My package was delivered here, so I came to pick it up. The fellow who was behind the counter asked for my ID, and I produced it. He said that because my ID (driver's license) didn't match the address on the package, he would need to see proof of address, like a utility bill. Well, I'm not in the habit of carrying bills around with me, and so he wouldn't give me the package. When I asked if I could reschedule delivery, he said, "You'll have to take that up with UPS." I said, after looking around at all the UPS-branded items, "Am I not *at* UPS?" "NO," he replied condescendingly. "This is the UPS *Store*. We have nothing to do with the big brown trucks." I pointed out to him that they must have *something* to do with said trucks, since they not only left my package there, but instructed me to pick it up there, but he was much more interested in being right than in being kind or helpful to a customer. He wasn't in the least apologetic or even nice about it. In fact, he was rather combative. In fact, when I asked what all the fuss was about, he huffed and puffed and took down a piece of paper to read from it the rule about customers needing to provide proof of address. Literally read it to me with his finger underlining the words, as though I were in kindergarten and he was explaining how B comes after A. Next time I need to ship a package? You can guess where I'm going to go, can't you? read more

I've been to every UPS store in the Rochester area, and I would recommend to avoid this one. The guy at the desk was rude and unhelpful. I had boxes that needed to be shipped out with labels already on them, they just needed to be taped up. Every other store has done that as a courtesy, but this employee abruptly stopped me and said "you can pay for tape if you want these to go out". If it's a store policy to have boxes already taped, no big deal. My issue was with the way he treated me as a customer. Terrible customer service, will never return to this location. read more

I recently sent a package to my brother in SF and instead of using the post office that is half a block away I went into the village of Fairport to send the package. The reason is the local personal touch the staff brings to the service. I was expecting Jim to be there, he seems to be there every other time I go. Jim for some reason remembers my name and knows what I need and helps above and beyond often suggesting a less expensive alternative in packaging etc Today Jim was not there and the manager I presume was the person that helped me. I want to share my experience with UPS of late: I had UPS worldwide saver package shipped to me from Taiwan last Monday, and the package was scheduled to arrive on December 4th, Wednesday and UPS website initially stated confirmed that would be the case. The package contains important documents which is needed for our loan closing on Monday, which is tomorrow. Well, Thursday went by without the arrival of the package. So I called UPS customer service on Friday and they informed me the package was still in Louisville, KY and it won't arrive until late next Monday or Tuesday. I spent 5 hours over the phone with them explaining our situation and the urgency, and finally I got the manager Sarah (1-800-292-3013 ex 1062765) told me she was going to check and would contact me before she left the office. When she called me back later on Friday, she informed me that she has requested next day delivery for me, and the package should be shipped to Buffalo by 4 am and delivered to us on Saturday. Well, by Late Saturday evening without the arrival of the package, I called UPS customer service again and after 6 hours on the phone with many ran-around excuses, finally was told that they didn't move my package to Rochester Saturday night, That means I need to wait for the package until late Monday, or Tuesday. Without the documents, I now likely have to push back my loan closing, and I am scheduled to leave Rochester on Friday morning for an international trip. PS: I just saw the status has been changed to Henrietta, NY which is the final destination. UPS planned to deliver my package on Tuesday! I don't know why they're keeping my package for another two days. Can anyone from UPS give me an answer? I'm also waiting on the phone. Sophina C said she would call me today, but she didn't. I'm trying to reach her now. My phone has put on hold again! Is this how UPS services its customers? How could I get my package without delaying my loan closing and international trip? I go to the UPS Store often and they have always been helpful and courteous. I have used them to ship packages, fax documents, print booklets, and recycle packing peanuts. They always ask me if I have a AAA card and they give me a discount. I love these guys. By the way, I think the previous reviewer was way out of line criticizing them for following the company's directions. If the tables were turned and they handed over his package to someone who had the same name as him, he would have REALLY been angry. So it was a little inconvenient for him, but at least the UPS Store made sure the package was delivered to the rightful recipient. Bravo guys. You ROCK! read more
