I had a similar experience at this location as a previous reviewer (Sammy L). The older black woman acts as if you are personally inconveniencing her with any Amazon returns. The sarcastic, demeaning tone, eye rolls, and short patience is not called for and makes me sure I'll never come to this location again. I'd rather drive further than have to interact with someone like that. Maybe she should get a job where she doesn't have to interact with customers. I hope her boss(es) see this and can coach her to put what ever baggage she's got aside and cut the attitude- or I'd bet they'll start loosing business. read more

On the morning of 8/25 0930-1000 we dropped off a package and asked for a receipt, today we realized it was never shipped but unfortunately the receipt was lost. We always wait for packages to be scanned and receipt to be printed, we heard something scan but apparently not our package. I suspect another package was scanned instead of ours and our package has gone missing. I'm sorry to say, but I suspect theft at this location. To everyone that uses this location, please make sure you verify the receipt has the tracking number on the receipt before you leave or simply avoid this location. Unfortunately I can't report this to the police since I lost the receipt, and even if I had it I'm sure the correct tracking info wouldn't be there anyways. read more

7/15/2020 Bad Customer Service "Was declined from shipping an item at their location but was able to at another." I went to ship an item (a vintage soap dish) using a CHAIRISH drop off & go service. Basically an item that was purchased online through CHAIRISH (a vendor that helps sell furniture and more) from our design studio in SF. CHAIRISH then sends me the packing slip, shipping label, and instructions. The UPS shipping and packing is already pre-paid, so all I have to do is drop off the item to the nearest UPS store according to the instructions. I live in Hayward. Apparently the two woman who helped me declined my package. I mentioned that I always go to the UPS Store in SF on Vanessa and they easily accept it. I respectfully tried to explain to them what they usually do and showed them the UPS instructions. But educated me that not all UPS stores support this service and that CHAIRISH is not listed and suggested that I go to the UPS Customer Hayward Center on Hathaway Ave. Which doesn't open for another 4 hours. Keep in mind neither of them attempted to go on the computer or make an effort to look into this service that is not familiar to them. Both were 100% sure that they do not support this service. And just by looking at my labels the shipping is paid, but not the packing, and suggested that I buy the packing material. But it is "pre-paid" I Insisted and is noted in the email. Why should I spend my own money for packing I know is pre-paid? The item could easily be a 17x2x24 vintage painting and the packing would cost a lot and you still want me to pay out of pocket? Pre-paid is pre-paid. The 2 women helping me weren't familiar with this new service which I understand and it is not their fault, but was just upsetting and disappointing that they made no effort to go on their computer or try to look into this new service, even with the UPS instructions from CHAIRISH. They are forcing me to drive all the way to SF just to ship it... doesn't make sense. I knew if the SF UPS store can accept it, then all UPS stores should except it. They were just lazy... It was pointless explaining, so I left and went to the one on Santa Clara. I explained my situation and had the same reaction. Only difference is she made the effort to search for the company and find it on their system. Entered the numbers as instructed for the pre-paid packing, and gave me the receipt and tracking number. Done! She figured it out and learned something new. Unfortunately IT IS a service that all UPS store employees are not familiar with but would be lucky enough to encounter the few employees willing to put in the effort to figure it out. I will or hope to try again the next time I have another CHAIRISH drop off & go service and give them the benefit of the doubt. But for now, it was an unpleasant experience. read more

It used to be convenient to stop by here on my lunch break, but I will not go here anymore and will stop using UPS altogether. One of my shipped package was damaged, and they denied my claim and blamed it on me for not boxing it correctly. First UPS said it was shipped in a "none approved" box, when they found out I used a box from Amazon, then it was because the box was not "brand new". The person who took in the box did not mention anything about the box when it was obvious the box was from Amazon. In fact when I declared the content was actually less than the cost of shipping, she repeated a few times the content itself was guaranteed up to $100. Today I wasted 2 hours on the phone bouncing back and forth between the UPS store and multiple departments in UPS, even calling the UPS store corporate at the end, they all told me there's nothing they can do. So, I guess it is time to say goodbye, thanks for the memories, hello to Fedex and USPS. read more

If I could give no starts I would definitely do that. A blonde Caucasian lady didn't get the name but she was very rude, unprofessional, unethical and very disrespectful. We normally ship here but just because we provided our own label she throws a whole attitude refusing to take our UPS PACKAGE as it wasn't processed from their store. We have a PREPAID LABEL ON THE PACKAGE which she by the way tore off the box before even saying saying "2 labels are not allowed on the box". But those labels are exactly the same and we always ship our packages that way. She even rudely asked us to take our package to the hub if we didn't want to get a new label from them. But again why would we if it was a prepaid label and was ready to be shipped out. The associate clearly doesn't know what she was saying and needs to be retrained. Not going back at this location unless they change their staff. Her attitude is uncalled for. If she doesn't like her job she might as well leave as she's making this location look really bad because of her customer service. We called a different UPS STORE to verify what she said and immediately said they can take the package and still ship it out. So whoever that employee was she really needs to be retrained or y'all better do something about her. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING BACK TO THIS STORE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY PROVIDE WRONG INFORMATION. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My son was kicked by a customer and Donna jumps in and tells me I need to control my kids. If you check the camera you can see me walking back and forth after him. She took off her badge and tried to fight me because I yelled at her. Maybe that's how you control your grandkids when they act up. You probably kick them. I don't use violence to control my kids. In addition to some in-service health sanitation training for your employee(s). I saw your employee smoking a cigarette outside of the store, putting it out before walking back into the store and walking directly behind the desk, not even washing her hands or sanitizing before attending to the customer ahead of me and then me. As a healthcare worker, working the frontline in this pandemic, that is unsettling. In addition, when I was dropping my package off (USPS or not), the tone in her voice and her demeanor towards me asking for clarification was rude and uncalled for. I had not previously been charged for dropping off a USPS package and paying $1 is not an issue, it's the way your employee decided to handle my questions about your store policy and provide clarification. She was very unprofessional, rude, and condescending to me. NEVER COMING BACK and telling my coworkers and family NOT TO EITHER. You lost a customer. This UPS store is located at almost the corner of Mission and B Street. It is across the Lucky shopping centre between A and B streets. You can easily pass this store up if you are not paying close attention (just sayin' because I did - twice!). I have dealt with 3 employees at this store and every single one of them have been so helpful and knowledgeable that it made my shipping needs super easy. I even had a package for the post service (yes, I missed the "S" in USPS but the lady was so nice she included it in their post bin (thank you so much!) so I wouldn't have to make the extra trek to the post office. People are so quick to "yelp" a bad review but when something good happens, we tend to take our time to say something so I am taking the time to say "Thanks so much to you folks at this location! The absolute WORST customer service ever!! Needed a document motorized, called and was told that the notary was there until 4 pm. Fought traffic across Mission Boulevard due to construction, waited in line, and was then told "she just sat down to lunch. You'll have to come back in half an hour". WTH? I had just called to verify that a notary was available. I verified that the young lady I was speaking with, was the same individual that answered my call. Needed a notary for some documents to be signed. I called ahead of time to check that they would have a notary on staff, the told me YES, as long as I come in before 5 pm. I'm still in a state of shock regarding my experience here recently. This store is very disorganized. You have 3 customers waiting for service and 4 (yes 4) women behind the counter and only 1 is waiting on customers. And the main head says things in front of customers she should not say. I must have heard 4 times that it was "hot in here, is the air conditioning on?" I needed to send 5 pages to a company in India. 5 pages. Guess how much they wanted. Go ahead, be a good sport, guess! $67! No joke. $67. I only went here because it was convenient. There are a whole lot of people running around like chickens with their heads cut off and no one is assisting customers. I did get a "sorry for the wait" at the end but anybody with a pea for a brain can see they do not have their act together. Save yourself an aspirin or two and go someplace else. read more

You know that bumbling idiot who walks into a UPS store and needs to ship his package. He doesn't even have it packed correctly and doesn't even have the correct shipping address. That good for nothing handsome guy is me. I'm the guy who needs help when it comes to sending it. I was luck enough to be helped by both Shanya and Marie were so nice and helpful to me; They took the extra time to ensure my package was going to the correct place. They didn't look down on my man packaging skills. This is when you stuff the item in the box and hope for the best. They even said they would re tape it for me and they did. The location isn't the best with a busy street packing but the customer service here was a 5 star. They helped me out and were so friendly about it; I don't mind paying extra and not waiting in those crazy post office lines. She was on her way out the door, noticed the long line and decided to stay and help her coworker. How kind! It's very rare to see that. I always notice employees run when their shift is over and actually refuse to help you because they wanna get the hell out of there as fast as they can. I was only in the store for about 3 minutes, she asked for my account number and packed everything up for me. Her coworkers was really goofy and was making a lot of jokes. Customer service is good. Occasionally I will ship really heavy objects and they are more expensive than when I do the quotes on UPS's website...You can find parking in the lot next to it. They do all sorts of services like copying and notary, however, I primarily use them as a UPS dropoff or to ship a package UPS. read more

This review is for notary service only. Both times I've had something notarized here this year have been stressful and a hassle. Recently, I went at 11:30, no notary. I was told to come back at 12:30, so I went to a cafe and read for over an hour, returned, and still no notary. I went home and returned a couple of hours later, and after waiting for about 20 minutes for the notary to finish with the customer ahead of me (the store was very hot!), the notary scanned my document with eagle eyes, the way she had last time I was there, to find some reason NOT to notarize it. All I needed was confirmation of my signature, but because it had something to do with a will, she had to call someone at another store. (Last time I was there, she did the same, for a different reason--and determined that she couldn't help. That time I had to go to another notary, who said the technicality that had made her refuse me service was of no importance.) Finally, she agreed to notarize my document. Let me be clear--it's very possible that she's just doing a good job, following her employer's strict guidelines, and perhaps UPS is just incredibly paranoid about being sued or getting caught up in some legal issues. Perhaps they shouldn't be notarizing documents at all. read more

I came here to complete a Live Scan. The workers were really nice. However, the box on the paperwork was checked for FBI and my employer never received that portion of the results. I contacted the store on three different occasions. The first time, they said to wait about a week and call back. The second and third times, they said that they would look into it, I gave them my number, and they said they would call me back by the end of the day. Over a month later, the situation still isn't resolved and they haven't reimbursed me. Such a waste of time and money and lots of frustration! What a friendly location!! This location is a little tricky since it is right off of Mission and parking can get crazy. But there is a parking lot right to them so that's helpful. The employees there are super helpful and guess what?? They actually do offer ALL the services a UPS store is supposed to have!! They also take coat donations for the needy so that is good so make sure I drop off gently used coats here they will gladly accept them. Passport photos only come out to $15!!
