I experienced the worst customer service I have ever encountered on monday, february 17th. To this day i still cannot forget about it. I went right before they had closed, both the man and woman there were incredibly impatient and rude to me. Amazon instructed me to return my packages at any UPS store, I have returned numerous amazon items there prior but this time they had rejected my returns and said they must be all packaged before they can stick the return label on there. I had explained to them im following amazon's instructions and was told to just bring the items and the QR code and no need to package them. They kept on arguing with me about how that is not how it works. I was very confused because the previous times i was able to return amazon items no problem. I brought in a whole bunch of items but none of them could be returned. Even when they had given me attitude and a hard time, I still said a thank you on the way out the door. The man started yelling at me about how i did not say thank you?! and the woman also started backing him up and started scolding me as well. I was so shocked because i had just said a thank you and there they were giving me a hard time about me not thanking them. I think i was trying to be nice by saying thank you with the way that i was treated and the frustration of not being able to return any of my eligible amazon returns. I could not believe me they accused me of not saying thank you to them when i didn't even have to say thanks based on how i was treated. What i had experienced was incredibly unprofessional and unheard of. I was so upset about it for the next few days. The next day, I talked to an amazon agent about what had happened at this ups store and they had informed me to report this and have them give a written refusal form so that amazon can deal with this situation. I went back to the ups store a day later to ask for that form but they refused to give me a response for the written refusal form. I am writing this because after a week i am still very very upset and confused about what had happened that day. I hope no one else ever gets treated like this. read more

Like another reviewer wrote, if I could give this place zero (or negative) stars, I would. They are cheaters, hands down! I went to get some documents notarized. The lady who did the notarization said it was $15 per page, whereas a different UPS store that I had called up a few days ago said it was $5 per signature. When I asked her if this price was something that the each store set, her answer and attitude were a little suspect, but we were in a rush so did the notarization there. I went to yet a different UPS store a few days later to send something and asked them about their notary price - they said that $5 was a STATE requirement! And that it was ILLEGAL to charge anything more, and if I was asked to pay more than $5, it was because the store was charging me for "extras". The vendor at this last UPS store told me to check my receipt - indeed, the receipt said $5 for notary services and $10 for "documentation". Is that $10 for writing my name in the notary register?? One last rant about this store and its policy - my husband that said that he thinks the customer next to me had only paid $5 for his notarized document (yes, he had been eavesdropping). I would also mention that the UPS guy helping this other customer looked like he had just woken up from a nap. Little did I know that the half-awake worker was the one who charged the honest price. read more

This is a great store now that I've been a box customer for 6 months. The other reviews look baked as though any mail center as good as this should get below 4 starts is ridiculous. Sonny is the owner and she is always so nice, smiling and doing her best! And her staff is good, too! Awesome location to have my mail box. I really appreciate having this UPS store here right above the super market. It is centrally located. Always has parking AND even a parking attendant to direct traffic in the lot!! The people at the UPS store or very efficient and I never have to wait just give them my box they give me my receipt and I'm outta there in under a minute!! read more

I went today to drop few boxes and the moment I said I have shipping labels, owner refused to provide service saying that the store is full and she don't have space to keep my boxes. Wow- worst customer service ever- I had 4-5 packages to return, one package was unsealed and I ran out of tape- so I showed her and she didnt give me any tape- btw this lady was like the owner? What a cheap asian! No, instead of giving me a small piece of tape to seal the side, she said "You buy' we dont give tape!! We dont give scissor either we sell you buy!!!" I just looked at her stunned, "I said what? Is this the UPS store? Everytime I go to other UPS stores they always help me w anything I need..." Omg. "You buy! Hey I cannot give for free!" Wow, I looked at the $ of the roll. $6.99 for a small packaging tape, off brand, I said whatever didnt buy it but went across the street and bought at the StorKeeper: a large shipping tape for $3-4. Came back and by the way the place is a total mess- if they lose ur package.. its no wonder why, I said ok- "You put by the door!" She said... lol I look up a stock pile of boxes ready and labeled. I said I need a receipt she gave a sigh of upsetness, said "Comeon!" And motioned that I give her the boxes- and so I did, and then I asked do you want me to put it by the door? Holy crap! How bad of a customer service interaction can you have simply to pick up a package that was mailed to a UPS location by a company that offered that option for an online order? The answer to that is: absolutely awful. I've never actually left a negative Yelp review, but this warrants it. I placed an online order for some coffee and had the option of delivering it to a "UPS Pick-Up Point" for free. Rather than pay the $16 shipping, I opted to pick my package up at the nearest UPS store from my apartment and proccessed the transaction through the company website to have it delivered there. I received an official email from UPS saying that my package had been delivered to this location on Makaloa Street and that I had a week to pick it up before they would return it to the sender. The email contained all pertinent tracking information (locations my package had been checked in to, tracking number, etc.). I stopped by this store a few days after I got the email and presented my ID. They checked a stack of three packages several times and then told me that I didn't ship it to that location because they didn't have it. (This was just the beginning of the accusations I would face in this 20 minute interaction.) I pulled up the email from UPS and read off the address where it said the package was delivered. They looked at me--somewhat stunned--and then confirmed I was at the correct address and then looked again in the same pile of three packages. They assured me they did not have my package, and I tried to present the email from UPS saying that it had been delivered to that location a few days prior. They checked the same three packages again and then said that I needed to call UPS corporate to see who had signed for it because no one had signed for it or else it would be in their system (which it wasn't). So I repeated, VERY SLOWLY: "so I have an email confirmation from UPS saying that my package was delivered here, but you want me to contact your corporate office to see where the package is?" I was getting somewhat frustrated at this point because I wasn't exactly sure how this was my problem. They said yes and wrote down a phone number on a business card for me to call, and I walked out of the store. Before I got very far, one of the employees came outside and asked me if I had a tracking number. I did, of course, and I had tried to present it to them before, but their only response was that they didn't have my package. So I walked back in and gave them the tracking number. Now the revelations began. The owner (it was her and what I believe may have been her husband that I had been dealing with) looked at the information on the screen and said, "Hmmmm, I signed for the package. I vagely remember that." (Remember the part where they insisted no one had signed for it and told me to contact UPS corporate?). Then the search party begins again. After about 10 minutes of sorting through the exact same packages over and over and typing the same information into their computer, they finally find my package about 18 inches from the pile of packages they had sorted through at least 10 times. The explanation was: I had sent that package to the wrong address (the UPS lcoation address at 1670 Makaloa Street) and I happened to have the same name as one of their PO box customers, and I was lucky that I did or else they would have refused the package to begin with because I had sent the package to the wrong address (lucky me). I explained to them that I had selected shipping to a UPS Access Point when I placed the online order for my coffee, and that the coffee company had handled all of the shipping details. I explained this at least three times, but I kept getting accused of sending it to the wrong address. So the owner scanned the package, and I signed. Then she scanned a second time, and a label printout with "Pick-Up Point" in huge bold black captial letters spit out of the machine below the computer to which the owner said: "oh, there it is." I had to sign again, and just to put the icing on the cake, she said very sarcastically: "now I have to contact my PO box customer and explain what happened". Whether it was meant that way or not, I felt that she was blaming me for the whole situation. She tried to explain to me several times how "this" was supposed to work, and I tried to explain to her that I had placed the order online and selected "UPS Pick-Up Point" as the shipping option. Since I saw the giant label with "Pick-Up Point" come out of the machine when she scanned the package, I am inclined to believe that neither I nor the company I ordered from made any error in the shipping process. I am not at all upset at the mixup--things happen, which I completely understand--but to be repeated accused of being the problem is just too much. I cannot believe UPS allows their brand to be represented in this way. read more

This review is concerning their notary services. I have used the notary services at this location several times in the past. Their prices have always been reasonable and i have never had any issues. I cannot speak to some other customer service issues as i have never encountered any at this location. I gave 4 stars only because of the odd asian man in the parking lot trying to direct traffic caused more hold ups than good. read more

I would give no stars if I could. Sunny Pak is the owner/manager who I had the misfortune of dealing with. I brought in 6 light bubbled envelopes. When I asked for a receipt she became annoyed with me. She then had me move the packages back and forth and making noises and rolling her eyes. I told her there is no need for an attitude and this set her off into a rage. Telling me she was the store owner and I dont know sh*t. She began cussing at me when I told her that her customer service skills were horrible. I go here to send money overseas. 1- their fee is really high. 2- the owner sunny is never in a good mood, it always seems as a disturbance that a customer walks in. 3- I never feel welcome here and only do because of its location as I do business in the area. I went there the other day to mail a small package from verizon back to them with a pre paid shipping label. I just needed a small strip of tape to seal the top of my box . I asked if they could help me and their response was its $2.00 for a small strip of tape. They gave me some other options of spending $6 or $8 for some over priced tiny rolls of tape. I asked them again if i could just have a little strip they said it was 2. i offered .50 cents they said NO! i thought it was outrageous that they cant spare a small piece of tape . Its not like this FRANCHISED store is not going to be getting paid for shipping the package . This store cant even make a proper sign to let customers know that they will be closed on thanksgiving computer have spell check . The sign posted said "we close thanks giving" How can i trust them to properly mail a package if they cant even use spell check to inform people that they will be closed. DO NOT COME HERE TO PRINT UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY $3.66 TO PRINT 1 PIECE OF PAPER!! I'm extremely disappointed with this company's service! I came in to print a paper and saw a sign on the computer that said "please ask an associate regarding printing to avoid unnecessary charges" So I ask the associate for advice that I need to print & she says "go to the computer." So I do as she says & use the computer for about 1 minute at most. Then I come to the register and tells me, "$3.66 is your total" I think that is quite ridiculous to print 1 piece of paper. I'm upset because I asked the associate (younger woman aged 24-35) what I need to do to AVOID UNNECESSARY CHARGES & she failed to tell me that it would be that much just to print. I told her that's why I asked her in the first place , but she didn't even try to fix the problem or provide friendly service. There is a sign that says $3 for every 30 minutes on the computer, but I didn't think that I would be charged because the associate told me to go there. Nor would have I ever paid that much for a simple piece of paper if I was told. Thank you, I will never come here or personally use this company again. read more

This UPS store enjoys ripping off their customers. The first time went here the clerk charged me an extra print fee for a qc return code that I had already emailed. She claimed at that time she didn't get the emailed return code. She lied. I confirm when I got home that she had received it. Yesterday, this establishment charged me $20 to have 1 signature notarized. The receipt reflected a $5 notary fee and $15 clerk processing fee. The latter was an additional fee they made up to overcharge me. What a bunch of low lifes!!!! read more

Service is fast and friendly and I've never been charged anything extra as has been mentioned in other reviews. The workers like my dog, too! Seriously one star is generous. The Korean lady in the front is RUDE!!!!! I walk in and she's on the customer side of the counter talking in Korean to another lady (possibly a friend) and looks at me then continues to talk for a few more seconds. Like I was interrupting her coming to send my items. I didn't have a bag or box so I was gonna purchase one there. As she grabs the three pants I am returning, she continues to talk to the same lady in Korean, not even really acknowledging me, just grabs the pants from my hands and prints a tracking receipt for me. I asked her if she had a bag or box that could fit my items and she said, "$11.47!" I said what is $11.47? She said "you need box right? And tape? Or you have your own tape?" Obviously I didn't have my own tape so I needed to pay for it. I asked her for the items so I could pack it myself so I know it's gonna go out. She said "no you pay first before I get box!" At this point I was furious. How do you talk to customers like this? She finally grabbed a box and tapped it for me. She gave me the receipt and sarcastically said, "thank you!" If this wasn't the closest place to send stuff out I wouldn't come here. Horrible customer service and they should shut them down. read more

She's a Korean lady in her 30's with an ash brown ombré (I knew she's Korean because she swore under her breath and unlucky for her, I understand Korean). WOW. Go to UPS on Lagoon Drive. They lied from beginning to end. I was told if a box was over a certain value, it had to go 2-day air (lie). Stacey informed me my boxes would be there Friday. When I informed her I wanted to ship ground because I wouldn't be there for 2 weeks, she changed it. She changed pickup for 8 days out and left it 2 day air. That makes no sense. I was quoted $835.17 for 2 boxes (1 is big). I took to Lagoon drive and shipped for $338.54. GO TO LAGOON DRIVE!!! read more

We needed to have closing documents notarized for a sale of property on the mainland. Called our two local banks (credit union and central pacific) and no one could help us. Called this location and they had someone onsite. Walked in and in less then 5 minutes we were walking out with our documents signed and ready to be mailed back to the mainland. Their fees were $20 per notarized document. The staff there was courteous and professional. Would definitely recommend their notary service. Parking is a bit crowded but nothing any different for the area. Their store is upstairs clearly marked. read more

The best store for all of shipping, packing, mail box and Internet needs. In the heart of Makaloa and Kalakaua, very close to Waikiki, located on the 2nd floor above the Palama market is the UPS store. This store is not owned by UPS, but it is a franchise store. The franchise store does not make any commission on any packages dropped off and to be picked up by UPS. As you well know, if you called UPS to pickup your packages from your house or location, UPS would charge to pick up your packages directly from your house. Like me and others we drop it off out of convenience and not to be charged. The UPS franchise stores does not make any money on dropped off packages. The UPS store on Beachwalk Waikiki closed, why it is very hard to make money. Rent in Hawaii and the cost of living is very expensive. My hat goes off to Steve, his wife and Stacy, for dedicated to stay open 7days a week, to fulfil my shipping, notary and Internet needs. As a customer I understand the dedication to operate a business. The packing tape used to enclose your box is not free, it cost money. The printer paper to have your boxes scanned, cost money. It makes me very sad when people complain about being charged for there services. How else is this UPS store going to survive. The local community should have a better understanding and more support to a small local franchise UPS store. Where else will I go to ship UPS packages. UPS Store Makaloa.
