Has a company ever forced you to sleep on the floor? Well, UPS forced me to sleep on the floor, and it was not fun. I ordered a Casper Mattress for the apartment I was going to be moving in to. I just moved and all of my stuff was being shipped across the country, so I did not have a mattress and Casper seemed like it would be a great new mattress for my new place. Casper sent the mattress UPS. The tracking number showed it was going to be delivered on a Tuesday I was staying in a hotel since I had nothing and the new mattress was going to arrive on a Tuesday, so I checked out of my hotel on Tuesday expecting the mattress. The UPS delivery driver showed up and dropped off two boxes... but the issue is that it was only the pillow and sheets. No mattress. I called the UPS 1800 number and spoke with someone who said they were unable to delivery any packages to my address due to a "special event"... oddly enough I was at the apartment all day AND received two packages from UPS already. There were no special events going on. They made it up to try and gloss over the fact I did not receive my package. But I needed my package, so I called them back. So, I spoke with the supervisor and he advised me to call the local UPS location. The local UPS location said they forgot to load the package on the truck when they sent it out and weren't sure where the package was anymore. I told them I really needed the package because I did not want to sleep on the floor. They said they would look around and try and find the package. Well... they looked around and never called me back. So I called the 1800 number again and was told by the supervisor "well, you need to sleep on the floor because there is nothing we can do for you. There is no way you are getting your package. You can call back tomorrow". Keep in mind, this was about 3 hours worth of being on the phone trying to get someone to help me. The rep at the local UPS location was extremely unprofessional and said that he had no interest in helping me, and that there were other customers he had to assist, and hung up. I called back several more times, pleading with them that I needed the package otherwise I would be forced to sleep on the floor. They all said "we understand, but we can not help". I can earnestly say I am never going to use UPS again. When you are going to ship a package and you start to google a place to ship packages around you and see a UPS store is closer than a Fedex store or the post office.... please remember this post and choose any other option besides UPS. I am going to have to sleep on the floor tonight because the UPS customer service has no ability to help and no willingness to go above and beyond. read more

Although the staff at this UPS store are attentive and friendly, something seems to be amiss with their processes. A couple weeks ago, I had a package to be sent from my Honolulu office to my company's Seattle office, and they mistakenly sent to back to my Honolulu office. I was shocked when I saw that the sender and recipient address was the exact same and had paid almost $100 to have that package sent. When I brought it back to the store, they "passed the buck" saying it was someone else's mistake. Then yesterday, I dropped off a letter at 8:30 am to be overnighted. The next morning, I received a notice that said UPS failed to get the letter out before the last pickup so there would be a delay. Might try out the FedEx guys. read more

Needed to mail a few boxes the other day. They were Amazon.com returns, so they needed to be sent via UPS. Did a quick internet search and found this UPS location on Bishop Street. Great find!!! Convenient: Open until 6pm on weekdays. I suppose if you work in the downtown area, being open until 6pm is not a big deal. But for those of us who don't work in downtown and for those of us who work until 5pm, being open a little later still allows you enough time to get there after work. I was moving from the Executive Centre back to the mainland. Had 4 precious (to me) items that were fragile and odd shaped. It would have cost a fortune with another shipper who wd have plunked each item in a huge box! These guys were THE BEST. They repeatedly thought of how to disassemble furniture and lamps to condense their size and what packaging would be required to insure a safe arrival. I was so impressed !! This will be my "go-to" place to ship anything and everything each time I return! Read the horror stories of all the other locations so decided to go here despite being a farther drive from home. There is limited street parking in downtown (even on Saturdays) so we parked in the 3 minute loading zone. There was no line and it took less than a minute to process my amazon returns. The cashier was super friendly and energetic. Quite refreshing as who wants to be working in deserted downtown on a Saturday at 2pm. Needless to say, I will be coming to this location for all of my UPS needs. read more

Honestly my experience for the pass lifetime (I'm 29) has not been good with UPS. The speed and communication is where they fall short. I always seem to pay $100+ in shipping and they are always late on delivering my product. ALWAYS!!! when I track my item it just sits at there facility for couple days just chilling there. Then I get a notice that they attempted a delivery which is bs because I would have someone there all day waiting for these time wasters. No call no show. Then of course they show up next day with no explanation. These companies have to much power with no consequences. read more

Hmmmm...hit or miss with these guys. I tried mailing out a package about a month ago and it got lost. No tracking info and no way to file a claim. It was to be sent locally...to Kaneohe. If I knew the headache this would cause I would've just driven to Kaneohe and dropped it off but figured I'd send via this store since I had it with me. Crazy...asked around about this ups store and I got some surprisingly bad reviews of the place. Location is kinda difficult as there is no where to park in front of the store and who's gonna pay for parking to drop off UPS packages less than 10min. There is an illegal area in the front where you can put your hazards in and run in real quick. Not legal at all but there seems to always be at least 1-2 other delivery trucks doing this so your car doesn't look as suspicious. Had a lot of packages that were prepaid to send back. I had my baby in the car so had to strap him onto my chest cause i didn't want to leave him in the car- with the AC- since the area is kinda sketchy (with many strange characters walking around) Anyways unloaded by stuff onto the sidewalk and then had to go deep into the trunk... Anyways turned around and my stuff was gone ( i thought some strange character/random person stole it) but i was mistaken! Bill had helpfully brought it in for me bc he saw I was struggling! What a help and relief that was! Bill and Fabian were kind, personable and super helpful. Made my day so much easier! read more

Customer service here is great. I forgot my tracking number one time, and they helped me get it back weeks later. Another time I realized I forgot to pack something with an Amazon return. I came back to the store, and thankfully they hadn't shipped it yet. I could access my package, pack the item, and be on my way. The only challenge is parking. I went to ship a package and paid for it then I realized there was an issue and needed to cancel the shipment. Went back same day as it was not sent or scanned at the warehouse to get ready for shipment. Spoke with Cyrus-Joe and another cashier who actually processed my shipment and was still there when I went back to cancel my shipment and it was that person who supposedly called customer service to have my shipment cancelled and was told I would get my package back in 2 days. UPS website allows you to intercept a package which can only be done on the website or calling customer service. Well, all of that was a big LIE! Because my package was delivered to its destination and now that person needs to send the package back to me. Now I will never use UPS to ship any packages for me, NEVER !!!! This is not how you conduct your business with customer, you done LIE to your customers. So, don't go there no customer service and no "ALOHA". So pilau! read more

Just got fed up with the US Postal Service recently, when an Express Mail envelope goes up undelivered for 2 weeks and it's still yet to be recovered! And also, a friend of mine claims she mailed out something to me from NY, and after 10 days, it hasn't reached me yet. Arrghh. For these two scenarios, I have since sought out help with UPS (United Parcel Service). The experience here at the UPS Store was good overall. This UPS Store is a hybrid of a UPS and the USPS combined, especially since they have / sell PO Boxes. This experience was my first ever doing business with UPS and may not be my last (for both personal and business needs), especially with my love/hate relationship with the US Postal Service. This UPS Store is located in the heart of downtown Honolulu on Bishop Street. Street parking is severely limited in the downtown core, but you can find parking at the Executive Centre, pretty much next door by Starbucks. If you are like me, many bus routes find their way through the urban core, so it's always good to check with the store their hours if you are running late. I am thankful that this UPS store has hours from 7:30am till 6pm weekdays, but closes on the weekends. The UPS store accepts major credit cards, which is always amazing. The prices here are similar to the US Postal Service, where they have different delivery methods and weigh parcels by weight. While it's not too expensive versus the USPS, it can be more expensive, but it's worth it if you need something delivered and not just whatever, like the USPS. I actually came here twice. Once was to get a box for my mailing needs and the other was to ship said box. The first time, the customer service was great. The lady at the counter, which I didn't get her name, helped me size up the contents so I can get the box that would be right for it. I was surprised that the box was pretty cheap. She had a nice personality and the purchase was swift. I also asked for a price quote and thought it wasn't that pricey, compared to the USPS. Although the USPS was cheaper, I figured it would be worth the expense if it was delivered promptly, like they said they would. The other time, I was helped by Mark, who was professional, even though it was 15 minutes till closing, he was not one of those people who didn't act like "I wanted to go home already". I filled out my mailing information on a order form and weighed it. He asked for the zip code to speed things up. After it was all said and done, the process probably took less than 10 minutes, which was pretty quick. No long lines here! I was surprised that there wasn't, compared to the USPS. Still, UPS is good for the money, when you want something delivered prompt as advertised. The store itself was clean, organized, but just empty. I guess it was 5:45pm when I came in to do business. That's cool though. Glad to get my package in before the next day pick up. Recommended if you need an alternative to the Postal Service. You may be surprised on the switch! Support local! I called asking if I could come in and print a resume, one page, color, off email or USB, and they said email causes a computer use and there's a fee but the xerox machine can do PDFs off a USB. The girl was very cheery and it actually made me think about how pleasantly surprised I was. when I came in, I printed 5 copies that came out black and white and asked a young man for help. he took the black and white copies back, no charge, and printed my color ones and put it in a ups cardboard envelope for me. $2 something for 5 1page color text. steep I guess but my printer sucks :p everyone was very nice, and I wouldn't hesitate to come here if I'm in town ! read more

I was expecting subpar service after reading all three of the yelp reviews. The type of service where you're so outraged that you think, "How dare they! I'm going to write a letter!" So I was immensely relieved that my experience was excellent. I'll admit that I completely screwed up and the lone staff member that was working at 5:40pm 'Nordstrom treatment'. Basically, she acted like a true professional,was friendly and completely obliging to my desperate plea of having my package shipped that very night instead of the following night. She bent the rules for me which I am forever grateful since I had an item that needed to be sent to a laboratory asap. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't said that and looked hopelessly lost and frazzled that it would have likely not happened. The computer system that deals with shipping packages the same day was locked down since it was 20 minutes to closing so the worker had to think of other alternatives. Thankfully the mail gods were on my side because she spotted the UPS man still outside loading packages. He was kind enough to break the rules for my careless mistake. It probably wasn't a big deal to or required much effort but in a situation where without such professionalism it could have resulted in paying another $175 to take a new batch of samples for the laboratory in Seattle. Staff are patient, friendly and efficient during the many years I rented a mailbox. Never had any problem with mails or packages. Prompt notifications and ample reminders when you receive mails. Extraordinary termination service: store would accept mails for you up to 6 months after you close your mailbox and help forwarding them. This means enormous convenience for people who will move. In my case, the store also went out of the way to accommodate early termination for long-time customers. I'm lost for words to express my appreciation for such caring service. read more

The one thing this place has got going for them is the convenient downtown location. On the downside, I didn't find the staff (or at least the one that "helped" me) to be very good. All I wanted to do was make a color copy of a booklet of papers I had. You'd think all it take was laying the paper down in the auto-feed tray, setting it to color, and pressing the start button...right? Well, he took about 10 minutes to do what should have taken less than 1. If I could rate my experience as a negative 5, I would. Friendly enough, but somehow lost my certified letter I tried sending to the mainland and can't seem to find out what happened. The tracking number is invalid. Blaming the fires in California and USPS don't fly. My attempts to chat on line with UPS and call customer service failed.
