Young woman at counter need a course in customer relations.( Perhaps she trained with the USPS.) I felt as if I was interrupting something important even though I was only one of two people in the shop. Paid for my shipment with cash and she looked it over as if I had just printed it myself. read more

I checked their hours and then stopped by to drop a package. They close at 5pm on Saturday. I arrived at 4:55. The store was dark, closed, and locked. Frustrating. Next trip I mentioned my frustration to the clerk. She just shrugged. read more

Updating my review, as this is the second time we've utilized this store. Again, the service was great and the paperwork went even quicker this time because I was in the computer from the first time I sent items home! They were able to look me up by my phone number. Wife went in to send UPS letter to our mortgage company. Told her we also needed to purchase a prepaid UPS label so the mortgage company could send the letter back to us. Lady told her that was impossible. My wife told her we did it all give time but the lady dug in and kept saying they couldn't so my wife said she would go to give post office and fill out a prepaid express mail envelop with our address here and send that with our letter to the mortgage company. The lady told my wife she couldn't do that either so my wife said, Fine, the I'll go use Fedex and left. This business needs some serious training. read more

Like many UPS Stores these days, this place tries to nickel and dime you for every little thing. Went to drop off a prepaid UPS package and asked for three small pieces of tape to seal things up, since I thought they might want to look inside first. The lady at the counter refused, saying only that they'd seal the box for me for $3. Seemed steep but I was in a hurry and said OK. Pulled out the credit card (it was the only form of payment I had with me). The lady refused to run my credit card, saying that $3 was below the minimum. Ok, I asked, what was the minimum. She said it's usually $5. Since I didn't have any cash on me and had no idea where the closest bank was, I offered two alternatives (1) spot me a few pieces of tape in the name of customer service (not asking too much here) or (2) run the credit card for $3. She bit on neither. Ended up buying a whole roll of tape for about $3 at Office Max about half a mile down the road. Went back, dropped the package off, and noted that they (1) lost a $3 sale and (2) provided a great example of how not to serve customers. Also made sure to ask for a drop-off receipt, in case they thought about getting creative with my package. In short, avoid this place unless you just have a drop-off. And be sure to ask for a receipt. read more

Unfortunately after paying to have very important documents overnighted to Oahu, this store somehow dropped the ball and the documents were delivered late. I now think this was a fluke thing and will be back to give them more business. At first I was really upset and frustrated because I could not get a reason from UPS or this store as to why this happened. When I finally got to speak with Heidi who works at this store, however, she handed the situation from start to finish and made sure to follow through. This ups store wanted to charge me $150 to ship from here to Maryland the US post office across the street to ship priority 2-3 was $85. My box was stamped 18X18x24 they wanted to charge me for 19X19X28.. The weight was 32lbs but wanted to charge me for 52lbs demential weight?!?! What?! They are crazy. read more

I was very pleased with the level of service received at The UPS Store in Lahaina. I purchased many items while visiting Maui and decided it would be easier to ship them home. Mary was very helpful and demonstrated perfect customer service. My box (all 30 + pounds) arrived in Houston 4 days later and everything was meticulously packed. We had trouble with a tiki getting wet and molding while in transit to the mainland. We shipped it with UPS. We filed a claim immediately and ran into some roadblocks with the insurance company. Heidi Scoggins went way above to help sort out all the problems. She actually tracked down the seller of the tiki to prove the value to the insurance company which helped close the claim. This store is a franchise and has absolutely no connection to UPS. And because of that they can charge whatever amounts they want. When I sent a package to the mainland that required added value due to the contents, I was charged $2.00 per hundred dollars of value only to find out later that UPS's rate is $0.90 per hundred dollars. So I ended up paying $87.00 more than I should have. When I double checked this with the real UPS I found out that franchisees can charge up to $2.95 per hundred. It's entirely up to them. Add on $5.00 for a 25 cent box, $5.50 for a nickels worth of bubble wrap, $5.00 for ten cents worth of tape and $4.50 for eight cents of packing peanuts and you can see this place is a rip off. All the misleading ads you see for "UPS Stores" never mention that they are not affiliated with UPS and fail to mention that prices vary from store to store. One just assumes when you visit a UPS Store, you're dealing with UPS. Seems fraudulent to me. Lesson learned; will never use these people again. read more
