Furthermore, the fact that this is the response should tell u all you need to know about the environment you are entering. They've doubled down on alienating a long standing customer instead of simply apologizing for the inappropriate accusation and uncomfortable experience. Original Review: Bizarre experience. This is my normal UPS store. I've been coming to the location for years. Today, while I was making a return, the lady scanned my phone and while I waited I placed my hand on the counter. She said "I'm sorry, no leaning" confused I said "I'm sorry, what?" She pointed out a bright orange sign that said no leaning. First, my hand was rested on the counter; I was not leaning on anything. 2nd I am a grown adult and felt like I was being scolded. It was truly an odd experience. Beware of New Ownership! It's gone down hill ! ZERO Aloha's given here! The previous local co-owners Joel and Hoku were very nice but these new mainland transplant owners are NOT! They have zero concept of customer service or appreciation of long time loyal customers! They are rude, impatient, sarcastic and have some type of attitude problem and if you inform them that you are a loyal long time customer for the past few years they couldn't care any less Every time you enter now the line is to the door, it takes on average 15 minutes and they are in no rush as they joke and chit chat while you wait I did NOT enjoy the man behind me in line having a loud personal phone conversation the entire time while I waited 15m today just to pick up my package They began a new policy of requiring you to wait in line for picking up packages for mailbox customers because you must now sign because they only have 2 small touchscreens at the register to sign on Also be careful with the many homeless people living all around their store, they talk to themselves and are unpleasant read more

I have never written a review in my entire life, but like many of the other responses listed below I felt compelled to. The new MAINLAND haole owner is arguably one of the worst / most rude individuals in a customer facing role I have ever experienced in my life. Extremely rude and truly is the opposite of aloha spirit in just about every way possible. First off, she goes by the tag Dr. J, which is hilarious because a real Doctor of Medicine (her degree is from liberty university an online university lmfao) would not be at a UPS store. Due to the nature of the interaction, I have had with this individual multiple times. I have decided to follow this up to corporate since she sees herself being above the standards of the UPS brand in her own words. Just like many other reviews, The owner is terrible!! Her mouth is so quick to say remarks that are incorrect and then She gets defensive. She thinks that she's smarter and above the customers. She and another worker even told me that she's the owner and she can speak to me however she pleases. I return a lot so I make sure to have my QR code and boxes all taped up ready to go so it's a smooth transaction. This incident isn't the first time either, this is the second time she made comment on my return, that "this is being sent back to you." I replied, no I have a QR code for the return. She then says no this is being sent back to you, referring to the old postage label on the box. I say that I have a QR code and when you print out the new label it gets put over the old one. She then gets defensive and says you should of ripped it off then. I reply that I have never been asked to do that and I'm not sure that's a requirement because it could compromise the box. The owner then has the audacity to say that she isn't talking to me and she's talking out loud and has the right to do so. Pretty much realizing she said a dumb comment and is trying to justify it. So she got caught making a smart remark and then because I stand my ground she tried to use her "owner/Dr." status to make me feel inferior. What a poor example of a business owner. Go back to the mainland because you have no aloha. UPS please bring in someone to oversee this branch. She isn't good for your brand. read more

I had a double whale tail packed and shipped at a far lower cost than a private store. It arrived stateside in perfect shape....so well protected!! I believe I worked with the owner and he was fabulous!!! I highly recommend The UPS Store in Kahului!!! read more

When I heard that the UPS Store was opening in Maui Mall's newest building, I was disenchanted as I was of course wanting a restaurant to open up! There are spaces still vacant so I have a little hope. So what brought me to this place? An Amazon.com return. LOCATION: The small shop is located in the freestanding building behind TJ Maxx (were Subway moved to). There are a few mailboxes inside along with copy/print services. EXPERIENCE: Long story short, I was returning a horrible-performing bug zapper (Nikand-brand) to Amazon. Being that it was two months old, I didn't think I could return it due to dissatisfaction, but I guess that's why Amazon is the popular behemoth that it is! After following return instructions on the Amazon app, one of the options was to simply bring the product to a UPS Store, box and packaging not needed. Just show them the QR code I was sent and they'd pack and ship it back for FREE. Say what?! I popped in and was greeted by a friendly gal. I told her what I was in for, and she had her scan gun ready! One click and done. We struck up a funny conversation on bug zappers and I was on my way. A few minutes later I got a notification that my return was accepted and monies would be credited upon receipt of the zapper. OVERALL: Convenient location and hours (for me) with great service. I hardly return products to Amazon but it's great knowing that they're here for this awesome service. read more

Wow, what FANTASTIC customer service! I walked in just past 5pm on a Monday afternoon and was greeted by the staff with a friendly wave and welcome and was served straight away as there was only 1 other customer and 5 staff! Thanks guys, you are doing a great job! Wish the UPS in Lahaina had that number of staff - they are usually down to one overworked staff member desperately trying to do everything on their own. I never write yelp reviews but my interaction today left me no choice. If I could give a zero Star, I would. I have never had not only the manager, but the owner of a business, treat a customer in such a disrespectful, demeaning manner in my life. Janette was completely inappropriate and unprofessional in not just my interaction, but the interaction she had with my employee who was checking on our order last week. How this place is in business with such a belittling, rude, narcissistic owner is completely beyond me. We use UPS on a weekly basis and had packages that were supposed to be delivered directly to the UPS Kahului store so that we could get the items in time for a wedding. They didn't arrive in time - which isn't even the problem at hand. The staff that we dealt with, specificaly Bryan, were beyond wonderful and accommodating. We paid $2000 to have packages expedited with a 2 day shipping and knew the timeframe would be tight. I provided my cell phone for them to call when the packages arrive. Several days go by , I never received a phone call, and our tracking showed a "disruption in service". After calling the branch, I was told that our packages ended up in Kauai!? Our supplier filed a claim with customer service and said to check back in with the store to see if they arrived since the tracking was never updated. After leaving the store this morning, I come to find out (by dealing with a Cruella of a woman) that not only were our packages there the whole time (even when I called and was told they were on Kauai) but the store has now sent them back to the original sender so I have to deal with the entire saga all over again to get them back to Maui. If anyone else has had a similar experience with Janette , I would love to hear about it, as no customer should be treatwd as I was today - specially after dealing with the misinformation and inconsistent tracking that I've encountered. Returned a package that was damaged in shipping by UPS. They would not accept the damage package without me first taping it up. When I asked for tape they said I would have to buy my own tape. Change me $7 for a roll and only needed 3 small pieces. Left the role at the store for other to use. Would avoid going there again. read more

Yes gang if you ever have to ship anything out, there is no worry about having to drive all the way to the Kahului airport area to ship out your package. Now there is a brand spanking new store just behind the TJ Maxx in the Maui Mall. Access is easy, as there is tons of free parking in the Maui Mall shopping center. The business hours of this new UPS Store is great, as they don't shut down for lunch, and the opening & closing times are much longer for this location. But the best thing about this store is that they even open up on the weekends, which I'm sure busy folks who have to get items shipped out can appreciate! Gotta get something shipped out? Mostly I'm just dropping something off that is all ready to go so it's a simple trip. Parking is easy with a loading zone right out front. The store can be busy but they have a lot of staff to help you if you need help. Everything runs smoothly and you can be in and out quickly and on your way knowing that the package is in good hands. This is a convenient location with ample parking and other nearby shops that can be of interest - at the Maui Mall. read more

I am a Maui resident who has been doing business with the UPS Store 6931 in Kahului for 2 years. This is hands down the best UPS store on the Island. I live in West Maui and drive over to the middle of the island weekly despite having a UPS store on the West side. I do this because of the staff. The way the owners choose to run their independent franchise business is unparalleled to any other store across all the Hawaiian islands. The owners are Joel and Hoku. They run a highly functional customer service focused store. I do all my shipping, Amazon business, and have a physical address mailbox at this location. Both owners treat me with respect, kindness, and are highly amenable to my needs. Both Joel and Hoku employ a small team of younger representatives who are dedicated to excellent customer service. Brandon, Romar and others are always a delight to see and to do business with. If you are living on Maui or visiting please go meet the owners and talk to them. They are class acts and will go above and beyond for you. Their prices are highly competitive, their store is extremely professional, hours of operation are abasing, and (most of all) everyone always leads with aloha, care, and smiles. read more

I come here often for amazon returns, lol, as do most the people and it can be a line of 6 people with multiple package returns and the staff just bang right through them - I only had to wait 5 min. Fox News cranked up, copier mangles your copies and jams or does the wrong size, and you get charged for every incorrect page. Also person working will need to see all of your personal info and look at all of your copies because their cheap printer doesn't count copies. read more

Convenience, convenience, convenience! This UPS locations is great! I can head to Long's or maybe all by after getting a refreshing snack from Guri Guri. Having this in Maui Mall is so helpful and makes it a lot easier for me. I've been here a few times shipping things out and I've never had any issues. The employee who was working at the store was pleasant and helpful. Awesome customer service. All of my interactions have ended well (I've even got some coupons for printing and a percentage off other services). This location is so much more convenient than the one by the airport. I had no idea they had opened as recently as March of 2019. The have notary services as well as printing, copying and shipping. This is great since majority of notary services that I know of are mostly located in Wailuku so it's nice for Kahului to have options. In addition to all of these services they also have postal boxes of all sizes. The space was clean and service was so quick. I was in and out with no problems what so ever. Definitely will be back to this specific location for my shipping needs. read more

I started a new job a couple of weeks ago and needed to fax a couple of documents to the HR office on the mainland. Seeing the UPS commercials on tv, I decided to go to the new UPS store at Maui Mall in Kahului. The service couldn't have been any easier. I was provided a fax cover at no extra cost, filled it out, and went back to the desk to get my documents faxed. The total cost for the 2 documents was $3.65, which I happily paid as I needed to get those documents out. I can't say what the going rate to send a fax is as I hardly do so but I'll pay for the convenience. The owner, who was working at the time was very friendly and helpful. This store is convenient if you are in town and a prime location for those on the cruise ships. Check this place out if you need to send out any items or other services they offer. read more

I had to return something from Amazon and was told to take it to the UPS store. I didn't even know there was one in Maui Mall. I went in and the store is clean and modern looking. They have post office boxes too! Not sure what the rental rates are, but this location beats trying to get into the Kahului post office parking lot!
