Connie went above and beyond today to help me with an Amazon return. For the longest time I went in the store with Amazon returns and I got used to being told that I didn't need my own packaging (as before Amazon always provided the bag for returns.) I had a return that needed packaging, and she went outside of the store to find a box for me. It is rare these days that a person actually thinks "outside the box" to help you- and go above and beyond what their job expectations are, especially with no guarantee of recognition or incentives. I stand by my original one star review as their response to my original review was complete BS. The woman never calmly or nicely explained anything to me. She was rude and curt the entire time much all the other mask Nazi's out there. All this while her co worker had his mask the same as me. Posting my honest review here based on my experience i had today at this location. Summary: - you will be charged for tape-up service if god forbid you did not have tape at home and dared to bring your box untaped to their location. - you will be judged and discriminated against based on employees' personal POV. - store owner stands by "his policies" so do not waste your time complaining to him. Talking to a wall. - save your time and mood and go to any other UPS location where you are greeted with a smile, offered a tape service AT NO COST and no one judges you. Here is a recap of what happened: I visited your UPS store this morning right after 8am as I needed to drop off a return package. Here is a recap of my experience/dialogue with the UPS store employee: Me: Hi! Good morning! Her: Hi! Do you need to ship something? Me: No. I just need to drop off a return. But I was wondering if I can borrow some tape as I need to put it on one side of the box. Her: Well... We do not have tape available, but I can sell it to you. Me: Ehhhh, but at other locations they usually help with a piece of tape and it was never a big deal. Also, I see tape dispensers laying on the table behind you readily available. So are these not OK to borrow for just 1 string of tape? Her: No, you are supposed to bring a package that is ready to be shipped. So I can sell the tape to you for $1. We are not supposed to help out customers but sometimes we choose to help. Me: Right! So is this just your YOUR personal preference not to help me and is this how YOU feel about me that you are not willing to help but rather sell me a piece of tape for $1? Obviously, as you stated this is a choice. Her: Well, at least other customers say "please" so yeah, I would want to help them. ------------------------------------------------------- Guys, this is simply mind blowing! I did not expect is to be talked to this way, be educated as to when to say "please" - quite frankly it felt like she wanted to give me a lecture and school me like a little girl. I was not rude to her, I was not demanding anything. I simply asked if I could borrow a tape dispenser. I needed just 1 little string of tape. It is not about $1 that she wanted to charge. It is about the whole ridicule that she staged "flexing her muscles". I was so appalled by this that i decided to file a complaint to the store manager re this person. This was manager's response: "Yes, she told me about the interaction this morning when I arrived, and I was able to see the interaction with our security system. I discussed the matter with her about when it is appropriate or not to extend the offer of a courtesy tape. I assured her that handing a store tape gun to a customer is not allowed, which is my policy due to hearing of litigation elsewhere when the customer injured themselves with store equipment. So, my policy for her to follow is that it is up to her discretion to say Yes, as a courtesy, when asked to do a small tape-up, and I do not permit her to give the tape guns to customers as those are for my trained employees use only. Our tape-up service is $1 and she was correct to offer you that service in lieue of a courtesy tape up that shouldn't be guaranteed or demanded. Thank you for bringing this interaction to my attention, and I hope that future visits are free of friction for all parties. Thank you." So this tells you what kind of "customer service" is being offered at this location. My way or high way and owner (just like his staff) do not really appreciate customers. So yeah, save yourself time and grief. Avoid this location like plague. I guess in this era we live in aside from tip-flation we now also have tape-flation. What a joke! read more

I brought in 7 boxes today to the 481 North Santa Cruz Ave store. I had some problems (on my end) regarding a correct address and had to return again later in the day with all 7 boxes. Both times the staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Once I had my info correct, everything was a breeze. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. (However, you must be prepared to deal with a small parking lot). There is another UPS site closer and more convenient for me, but I stopped using that place precisely because of the unfriendly and unhelpful attitude I encountered there several times. read more

Very very sad experience in this shop. Pitiful. The gentleman appointed to the printing section (Brenton) is unfortunately not up to the job, yet. Very young and very kind, available and polite. Unfortunately too proud. Verbose (maybe even logorrheic in the written communication). He will sharpen himself up, in time, I wish him. In this type of behind the counter business (as in life in general, I believe) being proud is a big NO, and you'll pay it badly sooner or later. As they used to say: "The client is always right." And I believe it's true. Because the client gives you the bread. So you owe him/her respect. I had to print some business cards, and in a hurry. I waited many days. Ok. It happens. In the end I go to pick up the job and the cards were gigantic; obviously a job badly done. I ask myself: "Why on earth do you do a job this way?" "Stop, call me, and let's clarify. No: he goes ahead and prints something useless,..to waste paper, and ink, and money,..I miss the point." There was some miscommunication. Ok. It can happen. I was so busy that genuinely I don't remember. Let's redo it. No. He refuses to do the job for me. ?? He gives me the refunds, and I was there stunned in front of such sad display of pride. I believe young people should learn to behave respectfully, to show humbleness when they do mistakes, and to show it even when they do not mistake, simply because they are younger. It's nice to behave in a civilized way. It makes you feel more evolved, belonging to a better society, to a better, advanced, pacific world. I was there apologizing in his place. And this is sad. We should embrace and help each other, not attack and be on the defensive. I dislike his attitude, his behavior, his work, his approach to clients and life in general. I was sort of surprised when I realized there are two locations, but now that I've seen the reviews of the other location, I am definitely glad that the people of Los Gatos have a choice. Yikes. I've been in here a couple of times, simply to drop off packages with an Amazon return label. It's been a totally unremarkable experience both times, which I consider to be a good thing. I worked with Brenton and the team at this location because my job at the time had an existing account. Brenton especially was invaluable and always went above and beyond the normal responsibilities of his job to help me out. I was new at the time and had a lot of questions or requests for him, but each time he graciously offered his support. He would check art work, print files, and delivery updates for me several times over to make sure everything was exactly as we needed it. Do not get your manual ink fingerprints done at this shop. They do not use a stand to affix the fingerprint card. You just use the countertop. They use dried up ink pads. My prints were not legible. You need ink from a tube or at least refill the ink pads. Obviously, my prints were rejected by my employer. Between the cards and shipping, that's 70 quid down the drain. read more

What I asked Brenton and Joyce to do was no easy shipping request. I needed them to ship a driver side car seat from an Explorer to DENVER. They had to ship it in two pieces after finding boxes big enough to ship them in. They could have had me go to a freight company but they had the "whatever it takes to help the customer" attitude and with a SMILE. This car seat is very special as it is part of a car that is to be used by a quadriplegic to get around. The pricing was fair and the service EXCELLENT. I don't even mind waiting (which rarely happens) because they always acknowledge me with a friendly greeting. I dropped off a return package with a home-printed UPS label and the wonderful ladies behind the counter, one with a lovely accent, after handing me a receipt, urged me to save the receipt so I would be able to track the package's return. Everything was handled well and professionally. UPS did their part and I received an email just a few days later saying my return had been processed. I just came back from this store after attempting to get two documents notarized. The clerk/notary said she couldn't notarize the Wells Fargo Bank document and said I should call Wells and get them to change the wording. This was a preprinted form used by Wells Fargo throughout their bank. I told her that was crazy. If I signed a duck all she has to do is certify that I did, in fact, sign the duck! She said it wasn't that simple and refused to witness my signature. I walked down the street to Postal Mate in Los Gatos where they happily notarized my signature. I will never go back to the UPS Store again for anything. Not ever. read more
