The "owner" is a freakin joke. Mr. Williams (if he is even the owner and not some poor excuse of an employee trying to feel better about himself) has the worst attitude I've ever encountered. I am constantly on the road for work and have stopped at tons of different ups and FedEx print offices and have never had an experience like the one today. I called ahead to make sure they print 11x17" pages. He said yes. I show up and he asked me to email it to him, which I did. 10 mins later I asked if he got it and he goes "oh... I didn't know you were sending it" :/ seriously?? But okay. So then he prints it an 8.5x11. I asked him to redo it the correct size and I need three copies. He says "I'll see if I can. Doesn't seem like it's the right size file". Anyone that has used a printer/computer would know you can change the page size and fit it to the page. Very simple. Anyways... he starts getting an attitude because he can't figure it out (weird considering he's an owner). He then tells me he cannot do it and it's my fault. I asked if I could look at his computer and show him (I've done it a hundred times) and he says absolutely not. So I went to enlarge a copy of the 8.5x11 on the copier and he yells across the store I'll be charged for any copies. Well duh... I didn't come for free prints. He proceeds to hover around and when the page wouldn't enlarge the correct size on his equipment from 1982, I decided to go somewhere else. As I am leaving he starts yelling I need to pay for the papers. I didn't have any papers... I asked his name because I was going to call his manager and complain (which I rarely do) and he says my Williams and that he is the owner so I told him his a terrible owner and should give the job to someone else with better customer service skills. He yells about how I'm a bad customer and "f***king cheap lol I'm outside his store still writing this and he walked by and flipped me off. WHAT A JOKE OF A STORE. read more

This guy Mike, who I am assuming is the owner, is horribly angry angry and completely sucks at customer service. I came in to send off a return for Amazon, didn't have the box taped for shipping, got barked at because my box wasn't taped. I offered to pay for Taping services, like the other UPS stores I normally frequent offers, and he barked again two dollars. Two dollars?!? For one strip of tape? How does this dick stay in business? I had never been here before. Always went to others such as the one on Maxella. Today I happened to be in the area and thought I'd drop off a package. The guy was immediately commanding to me to put the label on the box. "Come on, get that label on, let's go!" The package was mangled by UPS upon delivery, with most of the tape missing. The item itself was heavily damaged. So I took it "as is" to the store so they could see it. The guy was immediately commanding to me to put the label on the box. "Come on, get that label on, let's go!" The box really needed to be re-taped. Again, this was THEIR handy work. There was a tape right in front of me and when I put a strip on the box, he snatched the gun out of my hand, and ripped the tape that was already in place off the box, and yelled at me "That is my tape! My wife has a post-office box here and we both send lots of packages through the store and we've always had great service from Michael and his employees. We've also had them wrap delicate gifts for shipping and they do a great job with that as well. I don't understand any negative comments. This is a great neighborhood establishment. My pregnant wife went in to the store yesterday to return some items and was treated very poorly and as she describes with a lot of aggression by Michael Williams. I have to agree with all the other reviewers here - avoid this place like the plague! I have never been so shocked at the behavior of an owner/manager before. First off "Mike" berated the woman in front of me because he didn't like where on the floor she had placed her giant heavy package to ship. Everyone in the store was embarrassed for her. He was then incredibly rude to me as I asked questions about UPS service, and I ended up just walking out and heading to Fedex. The rudest place on earth - they greet you with a smile but once they realize you are there only to drop off a return they immediately turn into abusive monsters. God forbid you ask for a plastic window or tape - they want to charge you for it! Today the guy even throw my package on the floor and kicked it, almost kicking me in the face in the process. If I could give is place negative stars , it would rate a minus -5 stars. I went to this location to have my fingerprints scanned. Well I arrived in a good mood , ready to have them taken but ended up leaving without getting them done and in a really bad mood. The gentleman( I use this term loosely...it is nicer than saying the a%#) who was there and was the one who would be scanning them was a real jerk. I came in with a coupon that was offered by the scanning company and he was admit that they do not accept. I said but the company said you would. Well this angered him, I said okay, I will still do them, while I was waiting for him I decided to call the company and just lodge a complaint about them giving false information. Well this pissed off the jerk and he got even ruder! So if this is how he handles just scanning fingerprints what would he do with my packages.... I will never ever enter this store again. GREAT SERVICE. I went in to get my livescan fingerprinting done (a major headache) and was assisted by Michael Williams. It was right before closing and Mr. Williams was the only one working in the store. I was immediately impressed by the ability of Mr. Williams to balance his attention between all of the customers, who were there for a plethora of reasons (no two were alike) and required varying degrees of assistance. I went in with full awareness of the fact that fingerprinting takes time. Nevertheless, I was in and out of the store in less than 30 minutes, which is a remarkable feat in and of itself. While in the store, I saw Mr. Williams interact with a few regulars and watched as they shared inside jokes and small talk about updates in their personal lives. Even though UPS is a major corporation, Mr. Williams runs his store like an old fashioned mom and pop shop. I highly recommend going to this UPS store. read more

Terrible Terrible experience, Had to call the local police to settle the situation. I went in to ship a set of bicycle wheels to a customer. I had my items pre packaged in the original box and even had the ship to and ship from address printed on the box. As I was filling out the forms I witnessed the Owner speak down to the girl helping me in a very degrading manner. Then a woman walked in and asked nicely if she could get help shipping a very small pre packaged item back to China. The Owner again was very condescending and told her that it would cost $250 to $300 and if she was ok with that as he didnt want to deal with it if she was just going to bail. She was shocked and asked why and his answer was "because I ship every day and I just know, so are you going to F'ing ship or can I go about my business" She walked out very upset, all he had to do was tell her that UPS is not really the best way to ship international, and even be polite by suggesting USPS that is probably $15. Next he turned he attention to me, as I was filling out my forms he walked over and took my package from me as I was using it to fill out my forms. He then began to measure the box and I blatantly witnessed him over measure my package by 2 to 3" per side. When I asked him why he did that and told him I could see him over measuring my package he became very combative and asked If I would like it explained to me how to measure a package, I replied yes and he began with a very big attitude that you measure a box before its folded. Its a square box, seriously. I then responded back that I dont agree and this is when he began yelling and cursing, I asked for my package back and mentioned that I also saw him treat the previous lady badly. At this point he stepped into me and got right in my face, yelling at me to leave and assaulting me verbally. I left and went to the UPS store in the Marina and they were very nice, helpful and measured my package correctly. They are said they hear complaints almost daily about this store and gave me the contact info to the companies customer service. The thing I learned is that THE UPS STORE. Is not UPS and not even affiliated with them, each location is a franchise. So AVOID at all cost, go to a proper UPS location if at all possible. read more

Wow, just wow! What I wrote to UPS: I am writing UPS Store customer service in relation to a very extreme encounter I had at store 4398 with the store owner at 12405 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066. I went to the store to drop of a pre-labeled package that I needed to return to the store. When I arrived I had the label printed and the owner/manager was assisting another customer. At this point I saw some tape in the counter and went to use the tape to affix the shipping label to the box. The owner/manager was already getting agitated with an elderly customer who had trouble speaking English. When he was done with her, he came to me and took the tape from my hands and said this tape is not for you, he said you can ask me to take tape the box for you but you can't use the tape. The owner/manager continued to lecture me and said you don't just walk into a store and start using things without asking. Now I am not a child nor should I be talked down to in a condescending manner. I have been to this exact UPS store before when the owner/manager was not present and had never been told not to use the tape. Secondly, this is a shipping store isn't it? Since when was tape such a hot commodity? I have been to several UPS staffed locations and UPS stores and there is tape everywhere for customers to use. Nonetheless, I said can you please tape this part of the box for me and can I have a receipt for the drop shipment, he gave those to me and continued to belittle me and said there you go you are welcomed for your free tape. Now I am a very rational person, if there was a sign that said please do not use the tape or the tape was left behind the counter I would have more than gladly obliged and not used it. However, I am just a normal person and cannot read minds nor should I be expected to know the standard operating procedures of your store. Also since when is it okay to talk to a customer in such a fashion? Is this what UPS considers good customer service? As I was leaving I asked the owner/manager for his name and the store number. I was treated with a lot of disrespect over two pieces of tape and someone at UPS corporate needs to know about that. This is when the owner/manager completely lost it and said he was the owner and continued to say you are not welcomed back to this store and you can take your box with you and give me the receipt back. This is quite an extreme reaction I think, would you agree? At this point I wanted to get out of that store (and don't worry I am never going back to that store and will think twice about using UPS ever again). I said thank you for the tape and he continued with his irrational tone and said was that so hard? I replied back and said I am sorry you are having such a bad day. That is the story without me exaggerating in anyway. I work for a company that deals with customers everyday and we strive to treat our customers with the upmost respect so we can earn their trust and business again in the future. Never have I ever been told by anyone that I wasn't welcomed back to their store, especially as I was not rude at all and was the rational one. UPS has bigger problems if their store OWNERS get so livid over literally two pieces of tape. Now I know I am not any big customer and this will probably be p I await your response in hopes that this will help UPS better manage their franchises as this has a direct impact on UPS' reputation. I come here frequently for package drop off and everyone especially the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Parking can be a little tricky but if you don't go during lunch time I have always been able to find a spot. Super nice and efficient small business. read more

I've been to this store dozens of times over the last 4 years and always had a good experience. I usually am helped by the owner/manager (I forget his name, Mike maybe?), who is always friendly and eager to help. He goes beyond my expectations to help me nearly every time I'm in there, and I can't tell you how rare that is these days. He always seems really motivated to help me, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of everything related to the UPS store, the mailing system, and kind of every service the UPS store offers. For the people who have given this place a low rating, I just can't understand you. If you thought about it, did you ask for something that was unreasonable? I know people expect everything instantaneously nowadays, but a one star review is really awful to see. When I go on Yelp and see this place has two stars, I KNOW something is wrong here. I WILL NOT EVER RETURN TO THIS STORE! I have never, ever been treated so rudely in my life! I went to the store today to drop off a prepaid package to Amazon. I needed the sleeve for my address label and was rudely told by the clerk to tape it next time. I asked why and he responded, "It slows down the line and they're for store use." I was the only customer in the store! I then responded that I'd never had this problem at other stores. HE THEN RIPPED OFF THE SLEEVE, HANDED ME MY PACKAGE AND LABEL, AND TOLD ME TO GO TO ANOTHER STORE! Do not patronize this store. Wow I am surprised by all of the bad reviews because I have come to this store countless times and they are always very helpful and fast. Michael is the man! He saved me so much time with the livescan process which I needed done for a new job and he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I think due to the area going through gentrification is bringing all these spoiled and hand fed people in, which is the result of bad reviews since most of these people need to be treated like kings and queens everywhere else. Had to go on Yelp for the first time to write a review. I looked up this store on google and it stated that the store had a notary service. The person on the phone stated that there was no notary service at that particular store but the one in the Marina has it. I asked if he by any chance knew what time they closed and thats when it began!!! The UPS worker said "really? Are you serious?" I asked him what he meant, he said "what do you think Im 411 buddy?" I asked if I could speak to the manager and he said "Im The Owner", I asked to speak to manager again and he hung up on me. If that guy was the owner then wow!!!! I guess losing one customer isnt a big deal for any business, but the cumulative effect of losing business due to bad customer service can really hurt the bottom line. I usually only write positive reviews (since the usual punishment for bad service is simply not going back), but in this case, there is a HIGH LIKELIHOOD OF PERSONAL LOSS to consumers like you and I; therefore, I write this warning. The worker (manager?) there, Michael Williams, is EXTREMELY RUDE. I walked in and set the preaddressed package on the scale and told him that it was a simple return. I then asked for a piece of tape to go over the scotch tape that I had used to close the box. He instantly changed his attitude and snarled, "Only one piece of tape!" I was struck by his tone, but still needed to ship my box. When I handed it over to him, the tape on the bottom started to peel up (I only have bad scotch tape) and I asked him if he thought it would be secure enough. At this point he raised his voice and pointed at the wall, "I told you only one piece of tape! If you want another one, then go buy a roll of tape! This isn't a charity, this is a business! Buy your own d@mn tape!" Shocked, I asked, "You're really going to begrudge me, a paying customer, another short piece of tape?" At that point, he flung my box back at me, and told me to get out. "You can find someone else to ship your package." Then he started to come around the counter towards me. He is a tall, large, and at that time, angry man. Needless to say, I left before he got to me. So, I didn't get to ship my package, I got yelled at for a simple request, and I was physically intimidated as he moved to hustle me out of his store. Wow. I AM NEVER GOING BACK AND NOR SHOULD YOU. UPS franchises should have better quality control over their stores. PS: I still had to ship the package by UPS, so I went to the one on Lincoln and Ocean Park. Great service. Happily gave me a piece of tape to finish packing the box and restored my faith in customer service. read more
