I came there to get notary public service. They charged me $12 per notary page. That's fine with me even though it is double the price compared to other places. The thing is that they tried to do notary unnecessary pages that cost me up to over $150 and I thought that he did it right. My friend brought the same forms to another notary public service place which charged him only $6 per page and they said that the form required to do notary one page only. I don't recommend the notary service at this UPS Store or at least you have to watch out this place! read more

As you've seen in numerous reviews, this place is unfriendly, disorganised and fails to meet the most BASIC standards or services you would expect. I got absolutely horrible notary "service" here. I had a 25 page contract that needed 6 signatures notarized. The proprietor took the contract, separated it into 2 stacks, looked at every page to find signature blocks and spaces for initials. He handed us individual pages that needed our approvals. Then he copied and scanned the documents and gave them back for us to staple. I was there with the 89 year-old man needing his signatures notarized; we sat there for 2 HOURS while he stopped to send packages, make copies and notarized other documents. While still in our transaction, he worked on 12-15 other customers. He became rude, harried and (by his own account) nervous. At one point, he LOST a page of the contract, couldn't find it and wanted to charge us for the service with a page missing!!! I'm convinced he set it onto someone else's stack of papers but he denied it. I called someone to find the page and email it to the shop. He got the file, printed it out and the elderly man signed it. The proprietor scanned and copied the page. Then he gave it to us to add to the (otherwise) completed stacks of contract. When I got home, I realised he hadn't NOTARIZED the signature on that page. Is the contract valid? DO I have to print it out again and take it to a REAL notary? He charged me $69 for notary and printing for a contract that ISN'T COMPLETE! And an elderly man had to wait 2 hours for the horrible experience. It was disgusting; such a simple transaction I called UPS corporate and complained. This is a franchise. While certain things (like signage, hours and basic package service) are mandated by UPS, other things (like customer service, filth, clutter and useless notary services) are out of their hands. They told me they would forward the complaint and he SHOULD contact me within 48 hours with a response. He did not. I called UPS corporate again and they said he provided a much different account of what happened, including that we were ONLY there for an hour, offered us seats (we requested them) and denied ever having the page, He flat-out lied. He also refused to refund these charges because "they were fair." I've also called the California Secretary of State, Notary department and filed a formal complaint. They will investigate and (at the very least) sanction him. Don't be confused! Just because it says UPS doesn't mean you can expect the same service as you'd get in a location run by UPS. This franchisee NEEDS UPS for legitimacy. He clearly can't run a business, even with proven guidelines, training, and support. BTW, the "nice" photos for this business are NOT this location. Thanks to YELP, we can share information about places that value customers and ones that abuse them. I suggest you skip this place and go somewhere friendly, efficient and trustworthy. Terrible service. I came to drop off my books and he didn't even ask if I wanted to buy a box ($2-4), which would be cheaper than his outrageous $7.95 "standard service". I had asked if I could get a drop-off receipt with a tracking number and he tells me that it's on the receipt that I paid for his standard service. I didn't see the tracking number on the receipt so he got annoyed that he had was going to have to scan my drop-off package and then give me the receipt. I don't know if the guy read these bad reviews or what, but the past two times I came here he was nice to me. He even asked if I needed help bringing packages in from my car! Or maybe because I was dressed nicer this time? Who knows. The second time, he had to ask someone else if the truck had left already, and the other guy said yes, which perplexed me because I still saw a pile of packages in the store, but at least they were nice about it and explained that even though the truck left for overnight packages that I could still leave it there, but it will ship out tomorrow. Avoid at all cost. I agree with the previous reviewers, they charge $3 just for the use of tape - rip off. (Used to be $2, now its up to $3)!!! I had a pre-paid label, but no box or envelope. Usually every UPS store has UPS-labeled envelopes and boxes available for customers for free. Not at this one. I was imposed on a $4.65+tax charge for the generic plain white envelope. That's a double rip off. So on top of the shipping fees that I already paid manager wanted to charge me nearly $10 (for the envelope and "the use of tape"). When I asked why so much, manager's abrupt answer was "Im not running a charity here, Im in a business of making money". WTF???? The manager of this UPS Store (Indian man in his mid-40's) has horrible business practices and he is extremely rude. I think his name is Saumil Shah. Avoid this place. Hmmmm... So I think I got douched on for packaging. I went here originally to ship out the Valentine's Day gift, but things didn't work out as planned. I am contemplating my relationship with UPS, but they are the only one to have a store on Bainbridge Island. I went here and spent $10.50 for packaging a box. That was peanuts and a white box. I am supposing, I got overcharged now that I am reading that it costs $2 for a strip of tape. That's absurd. And the guy said that usually it is $7 for peanuts, so he's giving me a deal. Oh yeah? Well, I left here and you didn't deal me anything in the end... because I had to drive myself back to USPS to ship my package. I don't know if this is a franchise UPS store, but now I am sure it is. They also handle USPS. But they are not helpful at all, I worked out of here, overcharged, and unhappy and I had to run to the post office myself. I couldn't even find the store to begin with and when I called ... he didn't even know where it was himself. So bottom line is... no CUSTOMER SERVICE whatsoever and it is a rip off. I had just ordered something from Amazon but ordered the wrong size, so I had to return it. I chose to drop it off at the nearest UPS, which is this location. I didn't expect the awful service, though! Went there right when they opened to see a few people already in line. The store was dead quiet, even the customers didn't look happy to be there. But the person who looked the most unhappy was the only worker there, Ramon. His eyebrows were scrunched together, his eyes squinting, and his mouth stuck in a frown. He seemed to radiate despair and it made the atmosphere in the store even more tense and depressing than it had to be. The lights weren't even turned on all the way, which made the store seem a little dark and brooding. Anyways, the main point of this review is that you shouldn't go to this store. No matter how many "thank you's" and smiles he got from the customers, it did nothing to better his mood. He would just grumble "welcome" under his breath! I understand that many people don't like their jobs, but if you will work in customer service, you should at least be nice to your customers. When I told him I didn't have a sticker label at home to print the return label, he sighed and gave me a clear packet I could stick on the box. I just honestly find his bad mood awful. It was only 9:05am when I got in the store, 5 minutes after the store opened and he was already in a bad mood. I am giving it one star because you actually have to give it some thing in order to write a review. I honestly do not like writing negative reviews but in this case I really have to. I have come numerous times to the UPS store and typically there is a line out the door, it's quite a busy store and that's OK I understand the holidays, Amazon returns, shopping online,... I totally get it. The part that I don't get is the customer service, specifically the owner/manager. A few times I have seen him literally yell at people, and belittle them and it has happened to me as well. Today was the last straw. I came into the store and there was no one in the store the owner/manager was on the phone and he saw me walk in and did not even acknowledge me. There was another guy in there working, a guy I've never seen before and he also did not acknowledge or say anything to me on the contrary he continued doing what he was doing as if though I was invisible. 10 minutes I waited in line and in those 10 minutes there were eight people behind me. Folks were starting to get a little impatient and he finally hung up. He approached me and did not even say thank you for waiting or I'm sorry that you had to wait, he just said "" I'm busy"! I asked him if his customers matter to him because there was a line of eight people waiting while he was ignoring us and he continued to ignore the fact that he was being very rude and unprofessional. I asked him to please apologize to all of the people behind me for unnecessarily ignoring them when in reality he should be thanking each one of them for their business. I have another scathing update.... English is not my mother's first language plus she is not used to FedExing or UPSing stuff, so this UPS Store took that opportunity to try to trick and scam her! She showed up with a prepaid FedEx labeled package, which they told her she couldn't use and then tried to have her pay for a UPS package... when they could have told her to go to a Fed Ex! Just like EVERY review of this UPS Store, it would have to be because of the guy who usually works here. He is never energetic and seems unpleasant whenever someone comes here. I've been selling tickets through Stubhub for years and he is never happy when working with people. He expects everyone to know how to process goes but that should not be the case. An example for when I got bad customer experience from him would be that whenever I come return a book to amazon or sell tickets, he would give me a plastic bag to put the printed paper in. He doesn't give instructions and just stares at me and waits for me to finish it. He doesn't even want to scan the paper until I leave and he doesn't want to give me a receipt every time. For me, I would like for him to scan it and give me the receipt just so I know it's confirmed to be in the process of mailing and so that Amazon or whoever would know that it's about to get shipped. I sent a print job to be done online and they never completed it. I called the store, and they put me on hold so long that I hung up. They then called me back, and said the job would be completed (it was not completed). The next day I called again, got put on hold again, and then was told "my manager will call you" . The manager never called. I finally decided to cancel the order online due to the poor customer service. I took my print job to FedEx on Serra way, and my job was done promptly. The store never did acknowledge the claim or even responded to anyone (including corporate from what I understand). I guess the owner hoped everything would go away if he just ignored everyone. Anyways, the corporate office eventually budged, and wrote us a $1000 check. At least the larger UPS entity isn't corrupt (well, no more than the rest of corporate America). This store is just a rotten apple. The skinny: Last fall I sent ~$1000 in scuba equipment (two steel tanks, manifold, bands) to my dad in CO through this store, and UPS managed to break it. This is, mind you, after I paid the extra $$ for "fragile packing." This store has been unresponsive to our communication ever since. The details: My dad and I submitted a damage claim through UPS last October; they laid the blame on the franchise location due to insufficient packing. We've called numerous times, have filed complaints through UPS corporate, and (see below) have sent a letter to the store via certified mail, but still have had no communication whatsoever with anyone in charge at the store. Because this is the closest location to work, I decided to drop off a package with prepaid label. So I came back to this store again since it was the nearest UPS store from my house. I had to return something to Gilt and thought I had came fully prepared this time. My box was taped and got my return shipping label posted on top. I thought I was golden! Well...the Indian store owner still manage to punk me AGAIN! He said the weight stated on my shipping label was lighter than the actual package, and that I would have to pay $20+ to ship. Alright. The place does suck when you first come in because the workers are rude. I understand why though which is why I'm giving this place 4 stars. If Ramon or the other guy is working, it's really chill. Their boss is terrible though, he's definitely the rude one. Anyway, Ramon and the other guy are nice workers and they don't deserve the flack they are getting. They work slow days and it can get frustrating from what I've experienced while I picked up my packages. They would always complain about it, haha. I've had good service from both of them because instead of just trying to get the things I need or my package shipped, I try talking to them. They have a boring job so it can get pretty annoying. The worst UPS store I've visited. I WISH I could give a zero to them. There used to be another store nearby and now they merge to one. But I just found out that Staples- which is located in same shopping center - do UPS shipping too. This UPS store 's owner - Indian Man was unfriendly and a Liar. Today 12/18 (Saturday) was my 1st visit to this Store. I tried to drop off a UPS Express package that was already packed and label ready to go. Usually I would just leave it at counter and go. Surprising He said it wont be picked as its during "Holiday Season"and UPS driver wont pick up today unless I pay & re-ship using his store account#. He said mine will be picked Monday instead. He also pick on the weight difference but I never had any issues with other places (UPS always will verify the weight again @ the station) My package was UPS next day I couldnt wait so I drove another 15mins and dropped off @ San Jose Location Near DoubleTree Hotel Airport.The owner there is always nice and friendly no matter how many packages you drop off. Saturday their pick up time is 4pm -weekdays 6:30pm - always later than other bay area UPS stores giving you more time to ship. I'm happy with them even 15mins drive is worth. read more

I work at a store nearby and have to come in here to pick up packages every so often. Every time I been to this UPS I've always had good experiences. Not sure why the stars are so low, maybe there's newer employees now. One time I was late to send in a letter to RSVP to my cousin's wedding, so I came here for quick one day shipping. They said it would cost 38$ to do it, so I declined. However the black employee said that he was running to the post office later and that he'll drop off my letter for me (which was awesome of him!). I'll find out his name later, but I could tell he's a real people's person and really understand great customer service. Also he's talkative and funny. I came here to drop a small box of a rental book that was due soon. I wanted to get a receipt that they received my item for my records. I asked for my receipt. The guy working at the store told me to leave it on the scale and that the receipt is the tracking number. I know that is not true. Tracking shows where the item is. What if they never scanned my item and lose it or throw it away. Then there will never have any record on my tracking number. Nor anyone received it. Then how can I prove I dropped it at the store? I went to my car and started to write this review. I figured I must demand my receipt. Since it's a rental book. I must have prove I returned it. The guy did give me a receipt and gave me an attitude It's a store. They should learn to have better customer service. UPS is good. This store is just bad. I'll never come back. I came here for notary service and when I arrived the notary was nowhere to be found. I waited over 30 minutes for the notary to arrive and once he did arrive he did not have his notary book and could not complete the service. I requested a notary service around 10AM for a notary agent to be available at 2:30PM as that was one of the appointments available. I park and walk into the store and the clerk notifies me that the notary is not here and won't be available until around 5PM. I find that the notary that I was scheduled with had called me around 2:20PM to apparently inform me that he would not be available. The clerk was nice enough to contact the notary agent and I spoke with him on the phone. He stated that he thought would be available after 2PM but it appears that he is not able to commit to our scheduled meeting as he is busy. It's completely understandable for someone to not be available as sh** happens. However, why he decided to call me 5-10 minutes before we were supposed to meet up is completely beyond me and extremely unprofessional. If I was notified earlier, than this would not have been that big of a deal but I took time off work and that's 4 hours of PTO that I've lost, the fact that I had to drive out to the store to find out and whatever work I've pushed out until tomorrow. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional. Yes, I'm so frustrated I made a yelp account just to post this review. Total rip off. They charge you for everything. I went to drop off a prepaid shipment with printed label. The guy took the label and TAPED it to the side of the boxed without asking me and then charge me $2 for taping!!! Why can't he put it in the UPS sleeve? If I could give it no star I would. I have never in my life left a 1 star even if i have had bad experience . I always think we need to be little forgiving for small businesses. A 5 star experience cant always be expected. So i never left a bad review but here I must. And i will even further report the mis management of my package. I dropped off a 54 lbs box at this location on saturday evening at 4pm. The delivery truck had yet pick up all parcels for the day. Now this was a ecommerce business package where shipping had been paid already. On the shipping it said 41 lbs. When the store owner said we cant accept this label. I told him that I have a business account with amazon and it is paid upto 64lbs. He was like... we are not aware of such thing. He said. If our driver has any issue in picking it up. We will call u and u have to pick it up back. And I said no problem. Guess what happened today is tuesday and package is here at home without the amazon label I gave him and he said he will attach. For folks who who have seller account with amazon you would know that whenever we create a shipping plan amazon always keep a 10-12lb buffer for weight difference and charges us if additional weight is found. The shipping is really cheap. For a 41 lbs box it charged me $8.63 and even if i update the weight to 64lbs it willl probably bump it to $9.20. 50 c or 1 dollar wont break my bank. But this 3 days of loss my product not reaching amazon warehouse on time in holiday season does. I will never return back to this location again ever. Be cautious guys, dont leave your packages there. Especially ecomm sellers dont trust this location with ur packages. I am surprised at the audacity store owner had to not even attach my label and use a worn out shipping label that had my address since I reused the box. read more

Went to drop off my ATT Uverse equipment since I cancelled my TV service with them so I went to this store. I noticed that they also ship out USPS packages. So I thought "cool" two birds with one stone. The Asian man at the counter was friendly and polite but somehow couldn't figure out how to calculate shipping for a "USPS small flat rate box" I figured it's not hard to calculate the shipping since its a "flat rate". He then calls his African American co worker. After some fiddling with the keyboard he says "$17.92" I look at him confused for about 2 minutes. Then I say "how much?" He says its region A that is $17.92. I say no way its like 5 or 6 bucks. Its a flat rate box. Anyway I proceed to take my package and literally run out of there. I then go to the USPS office of Abel and low and behold. I pay $5.80 flat rate. TLDR version: Stay Away they will steal your money! read more

Ok, so disclaimer first - if you are coming here to drop off a ready-to-ship item (such as a ZAPPOS return or other item with prepaid label) you should be ok, perhaps because that doesn't require a human to work - they just scan the label. Now, problems - in a nutshell, the guy who runs this place is not the nicest guy, but more importantly, customer service is basically not in his vocabulary. My parents sent me an a box, complete with the address written on a label already - but the UPS store here somehow muddled that address, and sent it all over the place. I called to find out about this, and aside from basically not wanting to help me at all, they coped out by telling me the "receipt" they handed my parents was the end of their liability. My parents can't see that tiny writing...that was the whole point of writing the label on the box in the first place so the clerk would not have a problem helping them out. I basically got a lot of excuses out of this guy who obviously didn't give a care in the world. My previous experiences at this place was generally not good, but this time it made me regret greatly to come here. I chose to pickup my rental lens at this place because it's close to my work. But when I went there to pick up, they gave me a surprise. They charged me $5 for coming here to pick up my package!!! I checked with the rental company and they told me that the pickup service was supposed to be free. They are willing to give me refund on that if I have the receipt. Worst UPS store. Owner is v rude and doesn't have respect for his customers. Tracking number I had for my online printed shipping label was totally different then what they printed out for me. The owner of this store is an incredibly rude guy who has no understanding of how to talk to customers in a polite tone. We only come here when there is an urgent package that needs to be returned/shipped otherwise we are willing to go the extra mile to just avoid coming into this depression inducing store. The other reviewers who can't understand why this store gets such negative reviews maybe went their once and had a good experience but for others it is a nightmare. Because the moment you need assistance and ask a question regarding the shipping the owner gets rude and defensive right from the beginning and then there is no turning back. Bad service all around. Drop off for ups where scan needed and the owner and Asian worker refused to take package. The app says clearly the ups will print label and the owner wanted to charge for this service. Pls look for actual UPS store to drop off. This store is just an authorized dealer but I really thk the store should be retrained due to lack of procedure. The couldn't scan QR codes from UPS site. Bad business for UPS stores read more
