This gentleman (inserts sarcasm) wanted me to pay for packaging that the provided QR code stated was not needed. He described himself as the OWNER of this franchise location when I questioned his ability to follow instructions. After a brief back and forth on what I was not paying for vs what was provided, he eventually allowed me to leave the item and provided me a receipt. USPS never received the package although the USPS office was directly across the street. When I asked about my package they told me there was a delay with USPS shipping international. The tracking number from this UPS store never registered in the system. Numerous employees and managers took my information promising they would contact me. After numerous trips to this store I NEVER received any creditable information about my package that still has not arrived in over a YEAR!!! For the most part, I was pleased with the way that the staff handled things, they had on their masks and people were distanced...somewhat. Since this is a fairly small location and people pick up/drop off mail- there were people inside waiting. Not sure why though. IMHO they def could have waited outside. So they are not going to be chipper all the time but they are proffesional and they get the job done. Even through this pandemic they have never been closed. Manager was very rude she told me that she will charge me a dollar next time to tape my package. I said that's fine and I waited on the side after getting my receipt for her to tape the package. she told me that I have to wait and then another lady came up and she was also rude to her and then she came back to me and told me I have to pay a dollar now. Absolute THIEVES!!!! To make a long story short (because they are going to be investigated and people will lose their jobs), they stole my package that was a return to the merchant. I had a large box that contained a computer monitor(the box did not indicate contents inside). Went to the UPS store (this store) and had them scan, place label on the box, and give me my copy of the label with the tracking number. This was all done at 1236hrs on Friday. Later that night, I realized that I never received an update of the scheduled delivery from UPS (I entered my number to be notified on the web site). Friday night turn into Saturday morning, Saturday morning into Saturday night. Each time I checked the tracking number manually, all I would get was a message stating "shipment ready for UPS". Needless to say, I got the same message Sunday and today (Monday morning). This means that UPS has not picked the package up yet and "Scanned It". At this point we know something is wrong. With all that being said, we went back up to the UPS store (this store) this morning and asked about the package. First off they told us the package had shipped. When we pointed out that the tracking number was indicating that it has never left the store, they advised that UPS doesn't scan packages when they come in and pickup. THAT's A LIE. They also tried to convince us that the tracking information does not update for 2-3 weeks......smh. At that point it was time to leave. We knew the package had been stolen. We contacted UPS customer service, and they verified that all packages/boxes/whatever are scanned at PICK UP from the UPS stores. All I can say is read the reviews on this store. This is the worst UPS store locally. This location needs to be looked into. I've been here previously and yes! They are slow as ever. Zero customer service and they make you feel like you're bothering them. This morning January 7, 2019 at 8:50 am I walked into the store and was not greeted by the only employee I saw. The store was crowded with no less that 20 people waiting in line. only two employees were in the store and only one was working a register. The store itself was cluttered and disorganized selling religious paraphernalia including tee shirts, bibles, greeting cards, and speed camera license plate spray. The employee at the counter was not empathetic to my needs and continued answering phones and selling Western Union moneygrams. I was not given a tracking number for my package, and frankly i have little confidence that it will arrive at its destination. This store has the slowest, rudest people!! Every time I go there, I spend at least 15 minutes in the store. Even if they're not busy. They literally move as slow as ice cold molasses, going uphill. I went there to mail a parcel, and I literally had to wait 7 minutes in line (with no one in front of me) while the elderly lady who works there helped her grand daughter with her homework. I was literally just standing there and she was ignoring me. The other middle aged lady who works there is rude af. The only half decent person is the middle aged guy, but still...he moves reallyyyyy slow. There's no urgency whatsoever, whether there's 1 person in the store, or 25. They literally are just miserable, slow, and frustrating. I went there a handful of times, then realized I can't do this to myself anymore. I now go to the UPS at Woodmore Town Centre and they actually have brains in their head, and make some kind of effort to help you in a timely manner. Customer service pretty much stinks at this rt 450/Bowie store. I stopped by to merely drop off a return. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, was told they would not accept the package for send out because they did not like the label. ( I found out later that the decline had nothing to due with the label, but the fact that the store will not make a % cut off the delivery so they were not going to extend the effort.) Whatever the case, I left and went to another UPS store location and they had no problem with the label or offering customer service with efficiency.
