It was actually kind of interesting how the girl that worked here seemed perfectly content with being supremely unhelpful.

I would not recommend using their services. My experience was with their over night service. They take no responsibility for their employees indifference (lack of training?) I went into the store and a young man named Joey was the person that waited on me. He had me fill out the shipping address form and I apparently left the zip code blank. He decided to fill it in with a general, random San Francisco zip code rather than letting me know and asking me for the correct zip code( I was standing right in front of him.) He asked me to look over the address before I was asked to sign it. He had already filled in the zip code and I of course signed it without realizing it was the incorrect zip code. Needless to say it was not delivered overnight as I had trusted and paid for. I spoke to a female manager who said she would "try" and get my money back. She ignored me the entire conversation even though I told her they were important medical scans being overnighted to a medical facility. Our conversation was all about putting the responsibility back on me saying, " I signed." She angrily, reluctantly said she would call me back which of course I knew was not going to happen. read more

I walked in with 5 packages in beat up boxes and ripped wrappers today. They were all Christmas presents I have been meaning to return for 4 weeks. All of my labels were mismatched and some of my addresses were wrong but Ryan and Andrew were so patient and helpful (not to mention funny). They found appropriate sized packaging, helped me figure out which labels went with which package and were really nice even when I had to go back to my car for another address. I was even able to email them a label and have them print it right there when I realized I was missing one. I am going there every time I need to ship something from now on. I have done business with this specific UPS Store for the last several years including a subscription to one of their medium business mail boxes. I also use their shipping services. I have been very happy with their service, particularly that of Ryan, the store manager and Andrew one of the clerks. Ryan is customer service oriented and uses his initiative and knowledge of the business and their services to help me cut unnecessary costs, increase my business efficiency and in my quest for increasingly professional services. Andrew is also service oriented and like, Ryan, goes above and beyond to support their customers. In reading through some of the prior reviews, I was surprised to see some of the less flattering reviews but it is clear that not all the complaints can be attributed to the UPS store or their employees. When you are dealing with multiple shipping vendors with a high volume of mail and packages, there are bound to be some glitches. In the case of this UPS store that sure seems to be more the exception than the rule. I just renewed my mailbox at the store because of the professional service. read more

My wife and I have had a mailbox at this UPS store for almost 2 years now. We are always greeted by very friendly associates every time either of us walk in the door. Most of the time we are greeted by name. It is always a great experience anytime we have to collect our mail as we are always asked if we can be helped with anything at all. The manager Ryan is probably one of the nicest people I've ever spoken to and he is always on top of things. From giving us a call to let us know our box is a little full to giving us a heads up about our box renewal coming up. When I got there the I was greeted by the Manager named Ryan who actually was the notary. He was so efficient, patient and helpful. What creeps! First, the clerk PROMISED our package would arrive on a Friday, but it didn't arrive until the Tuesday following a holiday weekend. When we spoke with the clerk after the fact, he said they would refund the cost of the shipping and apologized. Then we received a call from the manager, Patty, who says the clerk was wrong to apologize (because he never would/should have promised a delivery date) and that they would not be refunding our shipping costs. We asked to speak to the owner of this independently-run UPS store who never bothered to return our call. Of course, no refund, either. We have had problems with these owners in the past at their other (now closed) store on Jefferson. Too bad they don't dump their nasty, unprofessional manager and promote the clerk who was, at least, polite. On second thought, the nasty Patty is probably really the owner who is too cheap to hire an actual business professional and just fakes being the manager. Our advice is to use the UPS shipping services at Office Depot, USPS or FedEx if you want your package to arrive as quoted! read more

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I came in from a business trip and simply needed to print a UPS label I had done online with our corporate account, then leave the package. They went above and beyond in helping me. Only charged me for the printed labels and even helped me tape a box shut. Sometimes my needs are anticipated as when I have a package and I have not even gotten to my box to find the package slip and one of the staff says: "You've got a package" and starts to go get it. I am shocked at the customer service here! Went in yesterday (2/1/12...owner may want to make note of who was working this day) There were 3 employees and no other customers. I went up to the counter with the package I needed to mail. Its a small store so I walked within a couple feet of all three employees...was not greeted or even acknowledged when I came in. I stood at the counter for several minutes listening to them discuss what they were going to have for lunch. Another customer came in and interrupted them saying she needed to make copies. One employee proceeded to assist her at the copy machine while I still waited at the counter. Finally when I put up my hands in a gesture like 'Hey is anyone here gonna help me???" , one of the girls came over and finally assisted me. There was still no greeting, no "thank you for waiting" nothing that would reflect good customer service. She curtly told me "it costs $1 for us to tape the box for you" (a dollar? really? I didn't need a box or any other shipping material....isn't a piece of tape covered in the high prices we already pay to ship a box??) I gave her the dollar and left a bit irritated and definitely not willing to return to this location, which is a shame because I live only 2 blocks away. I was at FEDEX 2 days ago and the employees were friendly, courteous and efficient...and they didn't charge anything for a piece of tape. Reading these others Yelp reviews, this doesn't seem like an isolated incident. I highly recommend the owner re-evaluate her employees and the way she allows her business to be run. BEWARE!!!!!! IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE AMOUNT OF STARS TO THIS LOCATION I WOULD!!!! This is the most irresponsibly store I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with in my life thus far and I would not recommend it to anyone that has confidential and time sensitive material that needs to be mailed. I paid a considerable amount of money to have my government documents sent via express mail guaranteed to get there the next day with tracking information and insurance as well for peace of mind. Not only was my package not delivered but the tracking number provided was useless and my package was unable to be tracked. Upon contacting the office to figure out what happened I was informed that they weren't sure where the package was however I could only get a partial refund since they could only refund "their cut" of my payment. The worse part was the so-called manager Zack was very nonchalant and could not even begin to explain or rectify the situation. Long story short I was not only advised by the local post office to never go to this store again I was also advised by consumer affairs to contact the local DA's office so that this type of behavior is not repeated. I have filed reports with consumer affairs, the BBB, The DA's office,, the main headquarters in San Diego and also contacted 7 on your side so that others are made aware of and hopefully never have to succumb to this sort of impetuousness. I am still awaiting some sort of apology or contact from the store owner but after reading some of the reviews I doubt that will ever happen. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more
