This is the best place to go to for shipping and mailing needs. Likewise, they notarize, fax and have copy machines for you to utilize at your convenience. I always come here to have something faxed to the East Coast and Mr. Himanshu Patel is there to help out. Despite the fact that he is the only one managing the store, he makes it sure that every customer's needs is handled properly and efficiently. The gentleman who has run this UPS Store for the past 7 years is a wonderful, incredibly hard-working, patient individual! He is there all the time to help his customers, there through the entire holiday season managing crowds of rushed, impatient people crowding his counter where he's trying to do business for each person at a time, carefully, and respectfully. I was shocked at how rude people treated him when I was in there today, and how polite and helpful he was in spite of their bad behavior. I arrived at UPS this morning a few minutes before 9:00 and there was already a line outside waiting for UPS to open. Himanshu arrived before 9:00, opened up, and instantly had 3-4 people in line asking to have their packages scanned, asking for shipping labels, copies, etc... He literally wasn't give ONE minute to put his backpack down, turn the lights on, put cash in the register before people were asking, "how long is this going to take?" Yet he greeted each customer with "Good Morning, how are you today?" No one asked him how he was. I watched all this and waited. Because I needed an important document notarized and shipped overnight I wanted to wait until he had a moment to BREATHE and take care of all the other impatient, rushed people. When it was my turn, Himanshu Patel, was so helpful and kind, explaining exactly what I needed to do, and assisting me with the process. People wanted to interrupt him, wanted their packages scanned while he was helping me, wanted to pile their boxes on the counter where we were trying to sign papers, and he had to ask each of them, "could you please wait 5 minutes while I finish up with this customer?" Some people stomped out at this reasonable, polite request. It never let up -- people came in non-stop the whole time I was in there and he was alone in the store, dealing with everyone's needs. I've gone to other UPS stores and their Notary is "at an appointment" or "Not in today, maybe tomorrow," but he's always there. I will never use another UPS store and am grateful such a lovely person works in my neighborhood. Too bad the general public can't remember that he's a person too doing the best he can! I used to come here a lot, and the woman who worked here was lovely. As my need for copying and mailing waned, I've come in less often. Maybe the 5-star service is reserved for more frequent customers, but what I get now is terrible -- monosyllabic and grudging. I have been a customer here at this location over a year now and Mr. Patel has always gone out of his way to help me every time I come in. I know there are some bad reviews on here regarding Mr. Patel but I can only speak on my experiences, which have always been pleasant. I went to return a package to Amazon. I brought in my own bubble mailer which only needed one piece of tape to close. The clerk told me to purchase a new bubble mailer. I told him I didn't want to buy an entire new package I only needed a piece of tape. The clerk seemed very annoyed that I would not buy a new bubble mailer despite mine being in new condition, only missing the tape strip. He slammed the tape down on the counter, ripped off a small piece, and placed it so awkwardly on the package that it didn't even close the opening simply because it was not in a straight line. I told him he put the tape in the wrong spot and reached my hand into the package to show him he missed the opening almost entirely. He was so rude about it that I just ended up purchasing my own tape for five dollars so that I can use *one small piece* to close the package. Now I know why the store only has one star. Good job dude, you made me buy a roll of tape. I won't ever go back to this location. I've never had any problems with the one in Fremont, I'll use them from now on - and I won't need a $5 roll of tape to go there. read more

This UPS Store was a lifesaver for us. We needed a 28 page document faxed, we'd had gone to another popular copy/ print store and they were having problems with their machine. We went to The UPS store and Himanshu was so helpful! He suggested scanning it in as a pdf since once you send a fax that's it, it's gone. He helped us get that done and had me confirm, using his computer before we left that everything had scanned and emailed successfully. Expectations vs. Reality I contend most people would agree that they do not want to overpay for shipping. What is taking place at this UPS store is the propitiatory - Himanshu - is trying to up-sale on all shipments. Get it there faster, add insurance, signature required and more. UPS automatically insures on loss / damaged domestic shipments if the package value is below $100. Why try to up-sale customers to add insurance if its part of the UPS shipment? Himanshu did the up-sale routine to two customers - I spoke up and advised them about the UPS policy. They changed their minds and opted out. Why would the owner - after hearing a customer say, least expensive method, no urgency on the arrival date, start with the sales pitch at the highest rates and then work his way down the list to see if the customer might accept a higher priced shipping option. There are other shipping venues in Newark, one being Mail N Services directly across the street - 35111 Newark Blvd. The staff at this venue understood what was being requested and processed the order through without issue. A $97 proposed shipment from the UPS store evolved into a $19.27 shipment at Mail N Services, and it was with the same carrier, UPS. You be the judge read more

Literally the worst ups store I have been into. The lady says we get more than a 100 packages a day so to give out tape for those packages we will lose money. Okay but a bulk of tape doesn't cost that much. It should atleast be complimentary and those 100 packages that you get people pay for them they are not shipped free. We had to buy tape from them for $4.37 and the lady working there was Indian and extremely rude. Also there was a little girl sitting in the back meaning while she's at work that little girl has to suffer and wait till the job is done or maybe even she is employed there. Went in this afternoon to drop off two good sized packages for return. Both were taped up with labels and ready to go. One box was about 25lbs, the other about 40lbs but the size of the box alone made t a little tough to get through the front door. I got in with the first box, the lighter of the two. I walked up to the counter and he scanned it then told me to go put it "over there". His direction was really unclear. I told him I had another box in the car that was kinda heavy and asked for his help. His immediate response was "I don't have a dolly." He didn't offer any other assistance and just kind of looked at me. So I told him to come and hold the door open so that I can get the box in on my own. I got the box out of my car and when I turned around he wasn't even paying attention and his back was to me! I again carried the box to the counter to for him to scan and the place by the window with other outgoing packages. No offer for help! He then asked me what was in the box making it so heavy....that's none of your business dude!!!! And don't be to be friendly now after you've been incredibly rude and pissed me off. postal annex... not sure if they still have this name. but when i went here, i got lured in the by the "$40 laptop repair" LIES its $25 diagnosis then when they look at it, theyll tell you the repair is $380 for a reimage. you can easily do that yourself for $100. when you refuse the repair, expect your laptop to come back damaged, possibly because they are upset you didnt take their low ball offer to sell your $1500 laptop to them for $600. got my laptop back in worse condition. hinges broken and still had a corrupt hard drive. total deception. read more

I stopped by today to drop off my Amazon return package, and he made me stay in line even though I stated that I just need to drop off and don't need a receipt, and he still demanded me to wait in line and follow his rules. Good thing there was only 1 person in front of me otherwise I could have waited for a long long time....I will definitely go to another location moving forward. Why can he uses the USPS practice to dedicate a bin or small area for drop off with no receipt required, then he can scan them later? Avoid going here, period!!! read more
