Went there on 7/24 to ship a small pkg (10 lbs) home to San Diego, and gave them my company account…read morenumber for third-party billing. The nice employee packed up the box, gave me the shipping info and the receipt for $15.29. Then on 8/8 (long after I had left Maine), another invoice for $69.29 was generated, supposedly for the actual shipping. I was told nothing about this on 7/24, and the amount seems ridiculous given that I asked for it to be shipped via fedex ground. Calling the store today was a total waste of time; the staff just tells you they have nothing to do with billing, and transfer you to the living hell that is Fedex "customer service". Good luck with that - total nightmare, just more transfers and no substantive answers.

There are concrete poles, and installed poles to keep this from happening, but y'all literally drive up and onto the sidewalk in through the crosswalk areas to get into the square. Wtf is wrong with you? They were kids running around, there are people trying to walk through, including people with disabilities. I get that sucks having to do deliveries when you have to park far away and I understand that sucks but guess what Portland just has bad parking and instead of putting everyone else's safety at risk so that you don't have to inconvenience yourself it's a pretty messed up move.

No driving around to find a spot - there are plenty to be had in this mall-esque type area. 3) The speed. WHOA. They're fast. I've never had this kind of speed and accuracy at any other FedEx Office Centers. 4) The incredible staff. I am greeted warmly when I arrive and when I leave, I am discreetly talked to about the things I need printed (it's annoying when the whole queue behind you knows your business isn't it?!), they are patient problem solvers who are far more creative than you might realize (so lean on them for advice... mostly about printing and shipping, but I'm sure they could offer up some for personal issues too), if something seems crazy expensive they double and triple check that a) their system is really charging that (and if there are any workarounds) and b) if I'm absolutely positively certain I'm okay with the cost. I had previously said that "I was spoiled, as I usually print at home... when I need weird sizes, FedEx is my go to," but I gotta be totally honest: I now pretty much just do ALL my printing here (from posters to recipes to lanyards to guest lists - you name it). I like it. I like how reliable it is, I like how clean and bright my stuff always looks, I like that the staff is beginning to feel genuinely like my coworkers (that's not weird, right?). For me, there's no other option (... especially since my printer is in storage right now).

This is secretly the best UPS Store in Greater Portland…read more Yes, the inside is a little beat-up, but in the favorite-comfortable-old-sweater-you've-had-for-a-million-years-and-will-never-get-rid-of-regardless-of-holes-and-stains kind of way (mine is a gray hoodie that reads "NYC" that I've had since I was in high school; the stitching of the hood has begun unraveling - while I'd never wear it in public, I wear it almost every single night before bed). This particular store is also small and can get crowded very quickly. However... The staff here is my favorite staff anywhere. I digress: see, the thing is Falmouth isn't Portland. Portland is Maine's city - hustle, bustle, places to go, things to do, lists to make, fast fast fast, zoom zoom zoom. Everywhere outside of Portland is Maine. Where we slow down a bit, and we aren't rushing off to places to see and be seen at, and people take the time to get to know their neighbors. THAT's what this UPS Store does and is. Regardless of how busy they are, they take the time to get to know each.and.every.person.that.comes.through.their.door. They also remember their customers after just one visit (and they remember personal details too), their customers also talk to each other like old friends, and if that's not your cup of tea, guess what? They have no problem with you just leaving your prepaid package on the counter -someone will take care of it. It might be weird to be in love with a UPS Store, but if I'm going to go anywhere for my shipping needs... I will *always* go out of my way to come here (side note: it's also not weird that I'm trying to find a reason to ship things just so I can come here to be bathed in this very special, very unique, very warm, when-you're-here-you're-family feeling is it?).

Hopefully you'll be…read moreable to score a free 15 minute spot on Marginal Way (though, I've been known to use the Trader Joe's lot and dash across the street in desperate times). It's a smaller UPS compared to many others, so it can get congested with customers quickly; like just three or four people and it feels claustrophobic. The store is usually very clean. And when there's no one else in line, you can get in and out very quickly. It's easy to drop off prepaid boxes (though there's not a lot of counter space; one big box and you'll have to start stacking), it's easy to have them scan/process QR codes for Amazon returns, it's easy to email the store for prints (and they're super patient helping with that). The biggest issue is their staffing. Sometimes there's only one person working (it's infrequent that there's anyone within sight when I first enter the store; sometimes the person in the back will shout-out a greeting though)!. Picture this - because it happens often here -: three customers (one who needs thirty prints in color, one who doesn't really have their box taped or even the address they were sending their cookies to, one who needs to just drop off a return) all walk in at the same time vs one employee. Let's be patient and appreciative out there, folks. Open 7:30am to 6pm Monday through Friday; open at 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. Closed on Sundays.

This is my go to Staples in Maine…read more It's super conveniently located, it's got plenty of parking (albeit it in a mildly chaotic lot and with tight spaces), it's clean and well organized, there's clear signage, and the staff is EXCEPTIONAL. I try to make it a point to make my returns here, do my printing here, and have any of my government-issued photos done here. The staff is so competent and so thoughtful and so efficient and so patient. For returns: you couldn't ask for a more patient staff (especially if you're patient with and kind to them; I've seen plenty of rude customers who a) wanted to skip the line because they had a "simple" return [where they assumed they could just toss their UNBOXED item with NO paperwork on the counter and walk away], or b) started belittling other customers for taking too long). Whether your QR code doesn't immediately work or you suddenly can't find it in the chaos that is your inbox or are returning seventeen items individually (...which I witness nearly every time I'm here), they got you and try to make quick work of the process. For printing: they always have me double and triple check that everything looks correct, and are - again - so patient as I meticulously scour the work. The other day, I watched them gently run after a woman because they realized they had made an error with her printing and, while she didn't catch it, they did, and wanted to make it right immediately. For photos: I recently had to have very particular government photos taken (that are not the normal size, and other Staples don't even offer the exact dimensions/the exact service I needed), and they a) knew exactly what I needed which immediately put me at ease, b) went out of their way to make sure all information that was needed on the back of the photos was available (going out of their way to fix it themselves when they weren't sure I had enough of the info that might be needed). I feel confident when I come to this Staples for all my business and professional needs!!

Easy process for Amazon returns and UPS package shipping!…read moreThe desk is to the right as you enter. The couple of times I was here, there wasn't a line. The interaction was purely transactional. They only needed to scan the bar codes on the pre-paid packages I was sending. The person at the counter was polite, said very few years and smiled for the "greeting" but not much else to the interaction. Parking is easy which is a plus. I can't rate the service or knowledge of the staff, but overhearing other conversations with customers...I would say, this is a good drop point for packages.
