Today was the second day within a week that I tried to return an Amazon order but ran into issues at the store. They have a self-service station that is easy to use however, both times that I went the label maker/receipt mechanism ran out of paper. Both times it caused my label to rip and the label was not readable. There was no way I could've placed it on my Amazon return. The machine would not print out a receipt for me, as proof that I actually dropped the package off since the machine was out of paper. Today I got in line, just like I did last week, so that I could ask to have the paper refilled. The young lady with dark hair who helped me, was extremely rude and short with me. I told her what happened to the machine and she packaged my return and created another label to place on my package. I told her I needed a receipt as proof it was actually sent to Amazon. She told me she couldn't print it since I started it on the self-service machine. I insisted on a receipt since, once in the past, Amazon insisted they didn't receive a package and I wasn't given a refund for my return. (A receipt was printed for me last week when the exact incident took place,) The young lady continued to tell me she couldn't finish what I started at the self service machine. Oddly enough, she re-printed a label so that it could be packaged on my return so I did not understand why she couldn't print a receipt as proof that I dropped it off at their location. I insisted that if she was able to take my package and create a label, that she should be able to give me a receipt for that. After some back-and-forth and her being extremely short with me, miraculously, she was able to give me the receipt that I politely asked for. I remained calm and my demeanor wasn't sarcastic, nor did I raise my voice. I've worked in Customer Service for years and there are nasty and rude people that are extremely difficult to deal with or even speak to. I did nothing but keep my tone low and insist that I get something that she could've easily created and ultimately did. I'm trying to be empathetic because she's obviously in an entry-level role and probably deals with all walks of life, but I wasn't the cause of her poor attitude today. read more

Only issue is parking when you have a large package to shlep into the store, you might have to get a cart to transport it from the larger lot adjacent. They said it was never communicated to them about my appointment, sorry you'll have to come back later. It's always nice when a neighborhood UPS Store is around when you need one! While I will sometimes take advantage of their convenience when I need to make copies, mail packages or purchase mailing supplies, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they also have a Notary on staff! When my mom passed away, never did I expect the huge amount of personal business that I had to get in order! Some required a notary service. I scheduled an appointment online for 10:30am a few days prior. When I arrived a little early with my dad, I noticed right off that it was pretty busy and the atmosphere was a bit tense. This often seems the case in a busy UPS store. But soon became annoyed to find out that the notary doesn't arrive until 11:00am and I never got an email to inform me of this. We left to explore the Save Mart at the other end of the strip mall and returned back at the given time, with hopes that the notary would show up. To our surprise, the same staff member who told us that the notary wasn't in yet, was the actual notary! She then explained, that the 11:00am employee had to arrive first in order to free her from helping other customers so she could focus on her duties as a notary. This I completely understand, but the way it was handled made me concerned that maybe we chose the wrong place to patronize! Fortunately, she seemed to know her job well, and worked in a steady and efficient manner getting all the documents stamped and signed where needed. Then made copies for us and sent off by certified mail, even while training a new employee. I felt relieved that everything went a lot smoother than expected. My dad and I felt a little more confident afterwards, and I left with high hopes that our important papers were in good hands. read more

UPDATE: owners response is a fabrication. She already followed up with me to tell me that the package was disposed of despite being told by her staff that it would be returned to me. Tried to ship a package to South Korea by express mail. There was a problem with the recipient's phone number and I was told by staff at the store that if they couldn't confirm the phone number, the package would be shipped back. They couldn't confirm the number. Days go by, no call or package returned to me. When I finally called them today, they tell me that the package is going to be disposed of and that I can call UPS to see if there's anything else that can be done. Really? Aren't you the UPS store with better access to UPS international than I am? I guess you got your $150 shipping fee so now you've washed your hands of it. Amazon Return: $2.50 to rent their computer to print the label. $.25 cents per copy. I avoided using their computer and they still charged 2.50 for computer rental (for 15 minute use). They stated that the charge is for the email. I stated that the sign says it's for computer rental. They repeated that it's still 2.50 because that's what the owner wants. This makes no sense. If you're going to scam people, get your story straight, make a new rule, and abide by it correctly. read more

My unoffical Amazon return center ;) This location has been my GO-TO FOREVER for my Amazon returns. When Amazon started allowing cusotmers to bring returns to UPS stores without boxes, I started coming here immediately. The staff is always so quick to help thier customers. They help you so quickly and ensure you are in and out in less than a few minutes. Even if there is a line, they generally make it seamless. Parking is the worst part about this place, but it's worth it for the ease of returns they process here. If you need to ship or print anything, they have it all in this store too. I haven't had to pay to ship anything, but I would go here if I needed to do so. I enjoy how welcoming and quickly they work, most efficient shipping store expereince I've ever had! This location harasses you like they are a debt collector if you are late on paying your box and put a plastic barrier on it so you cannot check your mail....after just 2 days. No matter if you've been doing business with them for over 10 years or not. They will call you twice a day and leave e-mails. Mind you, there's a late fee that I am able to pay. So why harass me? I'll get to it when I can. I'm a business owner and usually do all my books at a certain time of each month. But this location really goes above and beyond to make sure that you don't feel appreciated or valued as a customer. I reached out to them a few months ago via their store email because the staff was rude and to let them know that they def come off as harassing and received no email back. So maybe this will trigger response. There is one very nice gentleman with glasses. Scruffy. He is very nice and in my opinion the only professional one. The rest of the staff here are awful. I really hate to not give 5 stars to any business because owning a business is HARD!!! But maybe this will help the owners of this one. I needed to return something to Amazon and this is a "return" location. The computer and the printer are not working. So I had to pay $3.50 to return it. Not a big deal but this computer looks like it has been out of order for a while. This could or could not be the owners fault? Maybe Amazon? Who knows who supplies the computer . The real problem is ...I was there at 8:30 when they open per the sign on the door. No one was there . I waited for 25 min still no one. I left came back at 9:30 and the guy and gal that was working was taking how they could NOT wait till 5pm and get off work. They where also talking about other inappropriate stuff while I was in the location . I was not the only person returning and purchasing items. read more

Not a lot of accountability. We needed something shipped so we paid a chunk of money for it and they told us it was guaranteed by the day we needed it but it never arrived on that date. When we tried to figure out what happened the manager hung up after arguing. Called corporate they told us it was in after noon which is why it arrived late, but it was paid for in the morning at 9:30 am. No apology. The complaint was logged and hopefully we will get a refund but overall it was not a pleasant experience. read more

This review is for employee #164942. I'm unsatisfied with your "estimate" on my box I purchased for my items I paid you to ship. I brought my items in a tote and employee #164942 said "your box will be around $10". I could have swore she said "your box will be $10" but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. Shipping was $17. She estimated $27 total. Great. Understandable. The total is rang up and I see that there is a "basic pack materials" for $2.25 and "basic pack services" for $4.95. That brings the new total to $34.42 after tax. I stared for a moment before I inserted my card to pay. I left the store and quickly returned to offer a suggestion for future situations similar to mine. I politely stood in line and then employee #164942 asked "do you have a question". I replied "no. I have a criticism". I then explained how it's rather "bait and switchy" to not mention the additional costs associated with shipping my package to which she replied " I said your box was ROUGHLY $10". She then said "HAVE A GREAT DAY" with the tone that lets you know that she hopes I get in an accident on my way home. We've seen Karen videos. We know the tone. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and the $7 add on. I'll find another UPS store to visit from now on. read more

I'm a regular here at this UPS as I own a business locally and am here weekly. Looks like they just got all new staff and one of the guys is very rude and super unhelpful. He thinks he knows it all and doesn't care to answer your questions, instead just gives you back a smart reply. I went to go send out 10 letters 2 of them which were small packages and it cost me more than double than what it usually costs because the clerk helping me didn't want to listen to my request to send through postal services but instead decided himself overnighting through UPS was the "cheapest route". I even told him I had a business account with UPS and could be looked up through my phone number and he insisted I didn't have one. At the end of it I had to ask for my receipt and tracking numbers due to him being super rude and not even offering it at the end. The line was out the door so I didn't feel the need to argue with him instead I will no longer be bringing my business to this location unless this specific employee has apologized. This UPS Store has the RUDEST people I've encountered at UPS. When a package that I shipped with them was missing, I called UPS to see if they could track it. It had never left the UPS Store on Folsom Blvd. I went over to the store to find out where it was, and they denied that they had it. I asked them to look in the back, and they wouldn't. One of the young women told me not to be "snarky". Seriously? This was a package that NEEDED to be at its destination the next day. After I left, they must have found the package and put it on the next truck because it suddenly appeared in the system and was delivered a day late. I ship A LOT of product, but I now drive over to UPS in Loehmann's Plaza to ship. I will never give my business to this store again. read more

I watched them with other customers who came in. Some seemed to be regulars who felt very comfortable in the store. I've been going to this location for years and all the staff/management is always so nice and helpful. I walked in today and saw none of the regular workers. No big deal, right? --I just had a drop off package that needed some packing bubbles. Wrong. I asked the cashier if I could buy some packing bubbles that would fit the tiny box I had. The manager directed me to the display case behind me that only had bubbles that would fit a large box. I showed him the box and explained that wouldn't fit and asked if I could pay for them to package it up for me. He said no. I'm confused what a UPS store is? Do they not package things up anymore? Wow - UPS and this store in particular has it TOGETHER. Snail mail and shipping is one of my most hated things. Not great at it and never organized enough to get it done effectively and on time. So I was more than pleased that they helped make my Amazon return nearly effortless All I had To do was show up with my items and a print out of my scan code and they would box it, print a label and the rest. Even when I managed to bring the wrong scan code, Daniel there suggested I email my label to them and once I did, he got back on track. So easy. Notably, Daniel was able to multitask, helping me while also trying to help a disgruntled customer. Her bad attitude and swearing didnt slow him down or affect his cheery disposition. For most of my shipping needs, UPS is the best service for the price. SITREP Looking to send out what few parcels I had designated to family members for the holidays. This UPS Store retail outlet is the one most conveniently located near my neighborhood just down Folsom Blvd. SETUP Fast, friendly service and it seemed that the costs associated with shipping my parcels out via UPS were no more than they would have been at the Post Office just a half mile away. I can see if I have a confidential package, insured costs, legal documents with mandated receiver-requirements, and other legal-required return-receipt scenarios, then I may want to go to the extra-trouble to bump up the cost for the extra security and legal requirements by sending this out via USPS. However, for generic shipping situations where only insuring for the value of generic item is involved (for example, if they lose a bluetooth earpiece that can be replaced), then I am completely happy to use UPS at less shipping costs. THE LOWDOWN Because of reasonable costs, close proximity to home, and friendly service, I will definitely come back to this location again if I have packages to send out. read more
