It was a very easy process! You call, schedule and you will get a text message! Our guy was Kuya Ricky and his communication was great. He texted the day before and give specific instructions on what to do and what the expectations are. The next day he came in and handle the package with care. My family makes use of this company to send money or packages home. They are good with these two thing, having been doing these for quite a long time. And the money is almost immediately available for the recipient. And the packages are either shipped by sea (for the big boxes) or by air cargo (for the small ones). The exchange rates are reasonable enough. We normally would wait for the exchange rate to be higher before sending money home (in which case I feel bad because it means a higher exchange rate means the economy isn't doing well). And the shipping rates are reasonable too! There are times when they would offer special rates (like at this moment, the shipping rates are 50% off for the Yuletide season). My only complaint is that the service might be oftentimes slow - especially for the shipping side (inspecting the contents, repacking the box and taping, then doing the paperwork). Yesterday, there was only one person manning the counter...and the customers just kept on piling in, one after the other. Maybe someone need to streamline this process or hire more people, or both...? read more

My recent experience with LBC for a time-sensitive parcel has been extremely disappointing, leading to significant delays and frustration. Tracking updates were non-existent for 75 days. Shipped my package thru sea cargo last Sept 20, 2025 and until date, the shipment is still in Taiwan. Called Customer service but only gave me the same status I am seeing at their website tracking. This is more than the 60 days duration LBC. I already lost 1 box last year which you haven't done anything but this time, I will never let it slip away!! I do not know other options to ship a box with unlimited weight to the Philippines. The good: they can pick up from your home and they seem to be reasonably priced. Not so good: they are unreliable when it comes to picking up. There were two instances when I waited and waited during the specified window of pick up but they didn't show up. I went to LBC at Mack Road 3 times and they closed it even if it's still 1:30 pm and they won't let me in till 2:45 coz they said it's still their lunch break and i have a doctor's appointment I can't wait for more than an hour just to wait for them to take their lunch and it's really cold outside. LBC is a well known Balikbayan delivery service for the Philippines, but unfortunately this particular LBC retail is horrible. We scheduled a pick up and to make the story short it took many canceled pick ups. . Their delivery guy named Marvin lied to us and said that he came to pick up the box but he said no one answered the door. We were waiting for that delivery guy all day and we have video cameras which totally contradicts Marvin the Liar. We even verified the address with him to make sure that he didn't just go to a different house. We found out that Marvin the Liar went to the Bay Area instead. After Days and days of non stop calling their office to get it done and settled, we end up bringing it to them after so many days of frustration. The price and their local know-how may be of some value, but the rest? Not so much. Even though the gentleman who attended to me was friendly, helpful, he excluded from the shipping, a personal cosmetic / aerosol can but I came home and discovered that TSA does allow it (in checked baggage) which means their "cargo" should be able to include the can. This now means, I'll be forced to check my otherwise cabin-carry eligible bag when I go to Philippines! (this was the reason I chose to send some items ahead of my trip) Secondly, it's been 3 days since I dropped off my box at the Sacramento branch and it's still not in their system - ...can't be tracked. When you call in, it's no big deal, there's no apologies. They said they'll do something, I should call back again tomorrow or check online before calling in. Pre-call, I attempted to use the IVR to look for my tracking # but before I complete the number, The phone gets disconnected! (tried this several times, same result). My first trip here and I was hesitant since the area is already pretty "sketchy". I had important documents to send. I was also hesitant because there's a PANDEMIC and the Philippines was also recovering from a typhoon. Well, I had to have faith that everything was going to go well...I was told there will be a delay but it is what it is. I can't believe this LBC driver! I scheduled for pick up for 12/30/23 from 7am - 9am. I took a time off from work around that time. He texted me a night before saying " Nobody will pick up your boxes that time" He didn't even apologized in his text message. I read all the reviews here and that what he really does! They go by their own time. I called the customer service and ask about and said why would make the time slot from 7am to 9am available to schedule if this not really the time slot they coming? Anyways, I didn't cancel my pick up - I let him come over to my house. We talked to him that he was rude on his msgs he should say atleast " I'm Sorry, the online system is fuck up!" We asked his name when he arrived here but he turned around and refused to say his name and he said " Bastos pala ako bakot ko bibigay pangalan ko?" He even have guts to say "free ang pick up ng boxes nyo Hindi kasali sa services!! Ang kapal ng mukha nito! I took my time off at work for those hours I scheduled then he would tell me that it's free? Yes, it's free pick up but my time at work is not free!! I was skeptical reading the reviews for package pickup , but surprisingly the courier, Joy, was prompt for the scheduled time window. The price for sea cargo shipment was understandable, and I'm still waiting on its successful delivery. For now, it seems to be smooth sailing. Their customer service line is very prompt - not sure if no one calls or if they're amply staffed, but I've never had more than 1 caller in front of me. Planned my day around their 5 hour window pick up time that never happened! mfkcr's didnt even have the courtesy to call me to tell me they're not coming over or be late. Called these idiots 2x checking if they're coming, and the dumb lady over the phone keeps saying, ' oh they late sometimes' , ' they will call you when they're coming'. When we called to schedule a pick up, we were given a time slot from 10-12 (supposedly on May 8 in Roseville, CA), however, we just got a call (the night before) from the pick up rep (Jay) and was told the time of pick up is from 9-10am (since we're the 2nd pick up, it'll be around 9am). This type of last minute change is unacceptable and unprofessional because we've made plans based on the original schedule given. We're totally disappointed because Jay was not able to compromise and NOT willing to be flexible even just keeping the original schedule of 10am.  This has tremendously degraded our expectations. read more

My family and I tried to send money to the Philippines, but ended up needing a refund due to our in laws sending money on our behalf. We were at this location in November and since then we have been trying to get our refund. Every time I call they say someone will call us back and still nothing. No one answers the phone! Knowing that, I went during my lunch break in the middle of the week. Surely they would be open (and stop calling me Shirley!). As I approached the doors, I saw an "open" sign (YES!) but didn't see anyone inside. Then I saw a handwritten note on the door saying, "Lunch. Be back at 1:30." Noooooo! Well, that at least gave me time to eat lunch at nearby Seafood City. So when I walked back at 1:30pm, there were already 2 people at the counter and 2 more in line. Ugh. There was only 1 employee, but she seemed very efficient, was extremely helpful to all the customers, and also had a friendly and patient attitude. She actually answered the phone while I was there, so not sure if the phone number listed on Yelp is correct, or if answering the phone is a random act. Anyways, with waiting in line and completing my transaction, I was there for about 15 minutes...about the same, or even faster, than going to the U.S. Postal Office during the holiday season. I was there to send $ to the Philippines, and the staff said it would be delivered (door-to-door) tomorrow! The fees are pretty reasonable, considering that type of service. $100 or less is $6, $100-200 is $8 and over $200 is $10. And of course, this is where you send your balikbayan boxes, also at a reasonable rate. If they had at least one more employee to help out during the busy holiday season, it would be a blessing for all. read more

I had brought in a wooden box not knowing it was against their policy but they still made a special arrangement for me since I had driven a very long distance. LBC just ruined my family's Christmas this year. They assured me that the box will arrive 1st week of December but til today December 25 . Nothing! What's the use of your tracking service when it's not even updated. You are all busy I get it but you should have told us that you can't deliver on time for us to go to another shipping company. I need a refund , this is the most expensive shipping company and I thought I will get what I paid for. So disappointed. My family in the Philippines will not get presents this Christmas. read more

About my experience today. Last two days ago (dec.2) I called the service to book a pick up for my two boxes, they said dec 4th from 2-6pm. They called me today around 8am to confirm that they'll be at my house between 1:30 and 2pm and I said okay. I waited for their call. I was home and waiting. I called the service again and they told me to wait and they said they'll follow up my issue. I talked to different agents since 3pm, every hour until 6pm. The agent told me (5th call) to call again in 2 hrs. I did call at 8pm, the lady said they're close and she recommended that it's better to re-book the pick up as if I have a choice. It's really frustrating and disappointing how they are lack of communication which is one of the important thing to do -- communicate with customers. I waited for nothing. They rescheduled my pick up day on the 6th with the window time 2-6pm again. I've been a customer of LbC and what happened today is not a good experience at all. read more

I came to this location twice in one day yesterday. The first time to get a quotation for buying boxes (to both bring on the plane and for shipping to the Philippines). It was a long wait in line the 1st time as there were 3 people in front of me and only one man (an older gentleman) working the front counter. I heard the phone ringing while he was helping a customer and no one else seemed to pick up the phone so don't be surprised if it just keeps ringing. I think I stood in line for at least 15+ minutes. When I got to him, he was nice enough to answer my questions (since I don't speak Tagalog) about box sizes, prices, and shipping costs. The largest box they have is 24" x 18" x 18". It costs $3.50 to buy and $60 to ship to the Philippines. I compared the price of the box w/ their 2 competitors inside Seafood City and LBC came out the cheapest. When I came back the 2nd time, there was a gal working the front counter along w/ the older man and only 1 person in front of me so I got served quicker. I actually bought 3 of the largest box for $10.50 and I was able to use my cc. One of the competitors inside only accepts cash for box purchases. I would've given 5 stars for the box prices, 4 stars for the older man being nice to me and 3 stars for the wait times. It'd be nice if they posted their prices so I wouldn't have to ask. In fact, none of the box sellers have full prices (and sizes) posted. read more

Its my first time to send LBC box and though we bring all our staffs and pack it in the hall way beside LBC it was all good because it was a nice day. At first we try to phone them for few days but no answer. We're kinda disappointed with their phone services. But seeing just two employee to entertained all the customers, we understand why they cant answer the phone but at least they should have voicemail saying there busy somehow. Good service and nice people. Also great to know that they can picked up boxes in your house location, just have to phone them and wait patiently for someone to answer.
