I went into the store today to drop off a package, While I was there, I decided to buy some office supplies for my business. My hands were full (of the products I purchased) and I asked if they had a bag so that I can carry my products out. They said that they do not supply bags for their customers. That is such a shame, because they will lose money if they don't have a way for customers to carry their products out. Maybe they should put a sign at the front door that says we do not offer shopping bags so that we are not caught off guard. I was upset because I had to walk a distance to my car and in this day and age people can just run up and steal from you if your hands are full. I came here to send a gift to a friend and showed the clerk the items I needed to send. I told her I needed a box that could fit these two items (one was already prepackaged in a box with plenty of stuffing since there was glass inside), both at about 13"×12" in length. She told me 20x20 is the best option because the prepackaged box "had glass inside". She came out and the box was HUGE. I should have walked out at this point, but for some reason I tried to trust her judgment as someone who ships boxes all day long. I had her cut the box down smaller because I was not about to pay another $6-$12 for MORE popcorn to fill the enormous space inside. Due to the excessive size of the box, I had to not only pay for the box but then pay for bubble wrap, the tape (because they don't offer tape when you are shipping from there), and a ton of popcorn to fill all the empty space so that the items inside wouldn't be flying everywhere during its travel. $40 later....I am realizing I will no longer be coming here for my shipping needs. read more

The people who work here are really great - this review is poor because of the manager Bharat. I have been going there for years and during the sweltering summer when he is there he refuses to allow them to use the air conditioning. I have seen it in the 90s and the poor employees are suffering because "oh the heat doesn't bother me" he says. Even when multiple customers complain "oh the heat doesn't bother me". It is revolting in there - Bharat, the heat bothers us!!! And whether you realize it or not, your hygiene is suffering from it also! Turn on the air!! read more

This store is run by kids that have no idea how to follow instructions...or read an envelope! I have had multiple problems over the same simple issue. How hard can it be to take an item from a customer and put it in one of their own store mailboxes? Yet, the item never gets to the intended mailbox. So now, after multiple complaints instead of fixing the problem they instead make a rule that you can no longer hand deliver an item to their own mailboxes. Go figure. Can't fix it? Ban it! Thankfully we are moving so I don't need to send (or hand deliver) our rent checks to this store again. I seriously worry about our young people today and their utter lack of common sense. read more

People here are so rude. No hello,no thank you. Silence. Also, this is the ONLY franchised UPS Store that will not accept me using my own account to ship a package. Really? So your store doesn't make $ on my package but it would be nice that since you represent UPS, that you do your customers a service by taking their package. I mean, what does it cost you? Not sure why the bad press here... Nice, spacious, and functional store located very conveniently right in the center of Laurel St. shopping/dining area. Only challenge is parking during busy times like lunch but there is plenty around. Walked in and walked right out... Hmmm...very strange..its 850am on a Wednesday morning and no one is here and no one answers the phone. The website says they open at 830am. They finally opened at 900am and the girl said to just drop off the packages on the counter. I shipped 2 things here and didn't ask for a receipt. BAD ME! The packages were never delivered. Zero stars if I could. I dropped off a package here with a prepaid label, but it mysteriously disappeared and never entered the UPS tracking system. I have the tracking number, and it indicates that package was not yet dropped off at the UPS facility, which is not correct. Always make sure you give the customer a printed label so they can prove they dropped it off! read more

Once again, the staff at this store ranks at the bottom for customer service. Rude and unhelpful sums up the buying experience. If there is a service problem, forget them accepting responsibility. Shipping an item to Oregon, UPS store $145. Post office $32. Enough said. Did not encounter any rudeness but time after time I find the good old post office to be a much better option. Also there's usually only one employee on site here from what I can see so if you come here for anything other than copies you often have a very long wait. read more

The management of this store is discourteous, unprofessional and greedy. I was paying to ship a UPS box and noticed I needed one more strip of tape - 6 inches. They said it would be $5.00. They also said I was crazy when I objected. FYI, I ship with many other UPS shops in Foster City, Belmont and Palo Alto. These shops provide complementary tape. and are very service oriented. Net, The San Carlos UPS store was terrible; their demeanor was disgusting; they insulted me to my face in front of other customers. We need to boycott business that treats customers in this fashion. read more

We went here to get "one" document notarized and were told that they could not notarize the document because the state of California forbid them from doing so??? Really??? Well not only were the two clowns behind the counter rude but perhaps they should remediate their notary commission! Why, do you ask??? BECAUSE we found another notary who was able to assist us without the attitude and with the knowledge that the Brothers Rude should have possessed!!! Refusing to even consider that perhaps other states in the US don't mind or even require a stamp on the photo he started walking away. They get one star for existing. It's nice to have a UPS store in your neighborhood. But I paid $24.50 to get a document notarized and send it off, and the document never got to the recipient. The recipient said that when this happens, they just contact the notary to validate some info, and then they have the sender re-mail an unnotarized version. However, the notary at this UPS Store curtly refused to cooperate and said I would have to come in and pay a new fee for a new notarization. Now, gee, wouldn't that be a good scam to just lose everyone's documents and make everyone get the documents re-notarized? I'm not saying this happened, but the end is result is $25 down the drain, plus a lot of hassle. As mentioned by other reviewers, the staff was pretty unfriendly, but I was in a pinch and was willing to deal with rudeness. I'm not willing to deal, however, with utter failure. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I encountered the rudest girl working here today. I can't even call what she did helping me. I wish more than anything that I had gone anywhere but here to ship my package. When I asked her to provide me a detail description of what I was being charged for she contradicted herself and basically yelled at me for asking. The cost of shipping changed price 3 times in a mere 5 mins. I don't think it's wrong of me to want a better explanation for what I am paying. To the owner of this company their is a reason you have such a low rating on yelp. Train your employees to be polite to the customers and have knowledge of the shipping charges and policies. Walked in to ship package back and had to endure more discussion of political rhetoric from an employee named Todd and the UPS guy. I mean I understand the popular vote for Hilary was disturbing to some (who don't understand the electoral college from HS Civics class), but do I really need to hear him tell me about impeaching Mr. Trump. Really Todd...? I have to endure this blather when I am shipping a package back...ugh make it stop. This was really painful for us all and to re-live it while dropping off a package was more than I can take. This place is horrible!!! Every time I go there.. I feel extremely frustrated and ripped off!!! NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Completely unprofessional and disappointing experience. I stopped in on Friday to mail a package for business. I asked to have it delivered to Los Angeles by Monday at 10AM as the recipient - my client - was going out of town and needed the package on Monday. Albert Toung helped me and when we were done I confirmed the delivery would be by Monday at 10AM. To which he replied that it would actually be by Monday EOD. I decided not to push as there was a line of people waiting to be helped and the package was going to LA so I figured the chances were good it would be early. I called to follow up today as my client never received the package yesterday and first Albert's colleague answered and said it would be delivered today/Tuesday. He put Albert on the phone and Albert explained *he* decided to send my package via GROUND service because to have it delivered by Monday EOD would have cost $60.00. *He* decided to have the package delivered by Tuesday EOD and he said it was to save money which is absurd because 1.) this was a client package and the cost was covered by the company and 2.) my client was out of the office starting on Tuesday. Why he decided to make this decision for me/my company is beyond me. My client is now OOT and will not receive her package, thereby making it moot as it was time sensitive. Albert Toung was rude and unprofessional when I discussed with him. (As the other negative reviewers stated - he had an attitude.) I asked to speak to the owner and was told he's out until next week. So... if Bharet Patco/owner follows up with me to make this right I will amend this review. On another note: I am not surprised by all the negative reviews here and wish I had referenced YELP earlier. I have used this UPS Store location over the years for both personal and business and overall it has been just okay. In general I would ignore being ignored by the staff because it was never for long periods - just enough to prompt checking the watch. read more

I deal with contracts and need to get waivers notarized often. Notary services have been decent at this location up until today. Was told by Karina my document could not be notarized because my name was not printed in the body of the form. I have had endless waivers notarized, have never had any issues. It is a generic form to release payment owed. I typically sign the form in notary's presence, and they notarize, no problem. Karina refused. Was extremely rude, and didn't even try to offer a solution. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was given no information beyond "no one can help you". Finally, she contacted someone who informed her that authorizing the document is totally fine, & I ended up getting my form notarized. This was after a grueling 45 or so minutes of pulling teeth with absolutely NO kindness, or ambition to even try to help. In the end, I asked for her name to file a complaint-she provided me with a fake last name (obviously, her stamp has her true name-duh). In addition, ironically, she did not collect my thumb print, as is typical when getting documents notarized. Being in customer service for so long, I make it a point to exhaust all avenues before informing my customers I cannot help them. This cost me valuable time away from work, in addition, could have held up payment on a time sensitive contract. All for no reason. Being kind is FREE, costs nothing, and can make you feel good. Karina should try it sometime. Will absolutely NOT be going back. read more

I just walked away from this store due to a very rude associate working at the counter - Helen. I came in with a package from Amazon and asked her to print the label. She then proceeded to berate me in front of my children yelling that she could not print the label without it being closed up. I have never experienced this before and I do frequent interaction with Amazon as well as this particular location. I had always had very pleasant interactions with the staff at this location up to this point. I would recommend management taking a closer look at their associates and ensuring these are the right roles for them (customer facing). read more

I needed to get a signature notarized, and called ahead to find out the cost and how many photo IDs I'd need. $10, one--easy as pie! I was in and out in about five minutes thanks to Albert's efficient service. That, and the fact that there were three employees and no other customers when I was there--but hey, I'm not complaining! I walked into the Laurel Street UPS Store with a Xfinity modem to return to Comcast. They took care of everything. I didn't have to box it. I didn't have to address it. I just handed it to them and I filled out a form with my name and address and they took care of everything at no co$t to me. The young lady apologized for the whole process taking about four minutes. She handed me a proof of shipping and within minutes I received an acknowledgment in my email. read more

I usually go to the Redwood City UPS Store on El Camino. I went to this one a few times because I was in the area. The people who work here are always grumpy and in a bad mood in contrast to the great customer service at the Redwood City location. They stick the drop off receipt to a promotional flyer. I asked the representative to not stick it on a piece of paper since I already had two and she rudely said she HAD to give me the flyer! I saw them giving another customer a hard time about a package...all this put a downer on my otherwise good day. Stay away from here and go to the other UPS store down the street in RWC!! read more
