This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever in my life experienced!! I went there because USPS had already closed and I had 3 packages I had promised my customers were going out. After finding out their prices are almost DOUBLE the cost and making a calm statement about this the associate MIGUEL was non-stop making comments about how UPS is better then the Post Office. I told him my statements had nothing to do with him as he didn't set the prices. He kept going along and was non-stop mansplaining me and boasting UPS arrogantly. He was so condescending, rude and completely out of line. He made me feel nervous and scared to be there and got loud and aggressive with me. Keeping my cool I asked him if he was the owner of the store since he was so committed to defending it. He then got very angry and said I needed to leave and he was refusing me service. Me being quite taken back and surprised by this response I then started video taping the situation asking him kindly what I did to invoke such negativity from him? He then picked up the phone and called the police on me stating I was harassing him after he was truly the one harassing me. The nerve. After I was leaving he followed me out to my car mocking me on the phone to supposedly the police and yelling loudly at my car threatening comments. It was all quite strange and obscene and I would expect that he be fired immediately. As a classy young woman I have never been so publicly offended, I know many contacts and businesses in the area that I will make sure no longer use this store. Also the video footage of this will be going onto social media. If you have things to ship and want them done properly, elegantly and efficiently I would not choose this store. I literally had to come home and sage all of my packages after them being in that angry and abusive mans presence. Thank you. read more

I've never had a single problem whenever he was there, and in fact in the 2 years he has been in charge there has been a noticeable improvement. I honesty don't know how anyone could have had a negative experience here, unless they are an awful customer--of which, there are many in this town. Even reading some of the negative reviews, I can hear the hallmarks of terrible, high-maintenance, "I want to speak to the manager because I'm not getting the special treatment I think I am entitled to" customers. The type that will cuss counter staff out, then get into their Audi with a "namaste" bumper sticker en route to a yoga class. Had an awful experience with the remarkably abrupt and apparently stressed out manager here. I was refused service as he was triggered by my presence in some unconscious way. I found a store a half mile away with a whole different fit and feel where I got the notary public service done without fanfare or an employee who belonged behind a desk somewhere without customer contact. I've lodged complaints to the owner, regional manager and UPS corporate. I hope the young man will be given some training in customer centered service in these financially difficult times. read more

I don't recommend going to this UPS Store to get passport photos. After the initial photo was rejected by the County Clerk because it was too blurry, we returned to have it retaken but the manager wanted to charge us again because we didn't have a receipt, even though he recognized us from the day before. The retaken photo was even worse and the manager was rude and condescending. I wasted 2 trips to this store and an appointment at the SC County office. This place brings me lots of joy. When you walk in, there is always a friendly greeting--even when there is a line. The staff is collaborative and clearly, like to have fun while in a professional atmosphere. Prior to this morning, I have come for one thing or another--- package, notary.. or shipping supplies.This morning was a crappy one and I had to get things notarized, faxed and sent over various agencies and people. Dax and Sagar totally turned my frown upside down-- sounds cheesy, but a huge thank you for taking care of everything. Within 10 minutes everything was done, I had tracking numbers, confirmation receipts and I was on my way. I used to love coming into this UPS store, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. But I went back to get a notary and that all changed.. I walked in asking for a notary and a employee I have never seen before by the name of Miguel yells "You didn't read the door we have no notary" and i ignored the rude manor tone in his voice at first, Then it started again.. as soon as I turned my back to walk out after he told me, we do not have a notary on staff. I hear him say "next time read the paper on the door idiot." To his coworker, Very rude. Not everyone is going to look at the door.. I'm a just starting out Etsy shop owner and I sold my first item last Friday, which was a plant. I went in Saturday with my package, carefully labeled fragile on the top and each side. On each side I also put this side up with arrows pointing up to make sure that my item would get to my customer safely. As I handed it to the clerk so he could weigh it, he turned it upside down and shook it. I quickly let him know that it was a fragile plant. He didn't apologize, just stated that items shift in transit. He then rang me up without opening the package to check if he had done any damage, assuring me that my described original packing would have saved it from damage. My customer just informed me that she received a smashed and dead plant. This clerk may have cost me my just starting business and definitely a customer. Never shipping from there again. read more

This UPS store is simply the best. I went in for some printing, I had an idea of how I wanted it printed up, and Miguel made it happen. He took the time to help me with my idea all the while assisting customers as they came in. All with a smile and super efficient. You can tell that he cares about helping people and making the most of their time. I was really impressed with his customer skills, making sure that each customer was happy and in and out quickly, so important in this time of covid. For my project he found the perfect paper, printed my menus in color and they turned out so well my guests took them home as a souvenir of our dinner. The two times I've made copies here I have gotten excellent help from this one young dude working here. Unlike that crappy FedEx in the Santa Cruz downtown area, when one of my files wouldn't print at the self-serve kiosk, the guy used the computer to print it for me, rather than telling me to rent a computer for $.32 a minute like they did at FedEx when I needed customer service. My boyfriend just dropped off a return package and it took barely a minute. This place is really fast. Not incredibly busy, but even when there are multiple customers the staff here seem able to multitask. read more

I've never shared a bad customer experience via social channels, but today changed that. I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with the owner of the UPS store on Soquel and 41st (store 6455). My wife went there to ship 3 boxes to my son's new dorm last Thursday, and one of them ended up being delivered at our home the following Saturday! When I brought the box back to the store, I informed them of their mistake and asked that they ensure that the box still arrive on time per the original order. Rather than acknowledging that a mistake was made and offering to cover the cost of shipping the box per the original contract, they told me that it wasn't their problem, that they just use UPS for shipping, and that they are not affiliated with UPS (Despite the sign on their storefront). Worse, the owner raised his voice, interrupted me, and tried to talk over me when I was simply asking him to do the right thing for the customer. At one point he said "well, I'm not gonna pay for it!" referring to my request to make things right by delivering the package on time. He then told me to get out of his store. Finally, he said he would "try" to refund me but that it is a UPS issue. In other words, he didn't ship my package, was totally rude, and is threatening not to issue a refund. I have never experienced such ridiculously bad service in my life. However, there is a silver lining. After calling UPS customer support, I received a call from the Santa Cruz UPS hub manager. He apologized for the ridiculous treatment I received and asked me to bring the box in because it had never been scanned (no record of it...hmmm). In the end, he offered to cover the costs of shipping it 2-day Air across the country and - in doing so - restored my faith in the UPS brand. So, PLEASE DO NOT SHOP AT THE UPS Store on Soquel and 41st. They are a bunch of unprofessional amateurs who still haven't offered to refund us after our package to VT landed in our driveway on Saturday. read more

This store is AWESOME! I needed to have some documents notarized and sent out vis UPS. Sagar (The Owner) was extremely helpful and did an excellent job of balancing me and another customer at the same time. The other customer was slightly rude and I overheard this for myself. He never let them get to him and continued on with his excellent attitude. I could not have had a better experience. I read the other reviews before I wrote mine and I agree with another customer who stated, "I can hear can hear the hallmarks of terrible high-maintenance people". I was in the store for roughly 30 minutes as they tried successfully to multi-task two registers, two customers that needed notaries and lots of walk ins to drop off packages. If you need any type of mailing, computer, printing services, I would totally recommend you come to this UPS Store. read more

Extremely rude, when asked why my package was not yet scanned - the comment was 'we did'- when asked why it was not in UPS system- extremely defensive- I asked again and even worse- I asked for an explanation again- this time the 'manager' pushed my package at me and said to take it somewhere else- that is when I used and expletive (and not until then)- and left don't waste your money nor support this crappy place- there is another on 41st ave that is great and quite customer oriented. read more

Ok, so the post office in Santa Cruz, is OK it's actually pretty great for a "post office" 9I go to the one on Morrissey and the folks there are very nice - not downtown). But once I went to the UPS store on Soquel (right at the end of 41st ave)... I'm just inclined to go there instead! Andrea and Sager are just Super helpful, patient and efficient. they make doing this kind of office work a pleasure! And Jethro Handsome dog loves them too - sometimes he even gets a treat! Every time i drive by there Jethro gives me a little nudge asking me to turn into the driveway (I drive by there a lot!). So glad these guy opened up shop here! read more

I have been using this particular UPS store since they opened, even though there is a UPS store in Aptos that is closer to me. I have received unfailingly professional and friendly service from all the staff numerous times. However, when I was there yesterday to have my grandson's artwork copied and put into a spiral-bound book, Ariel exceeded my already high expectations with patient assistance and recommendations as to paper quality, etc., that saved me money and gave a good result. Had everything packed to ship to the college-bound kid in Vermont - only, apparently, I suck at packing. I also had zero time because I had to get to Cupertino for a staff meeting. The folks at the UPS Store basically said "GO" and I left my whole hot mess with them. They repacked it, addressed and shipped it and called me when it was done. I am being generous with a 2-star review, only because I have had some acceptable service at this store previously. But communication and clarity is a big problem with the staff at this location. I get there with a box to return (Amazon purchase). Nobody else in line but one person at each of the two stations. One of them says to me "If you're dropping off, you can leave it over there." I put it where he pointed and then I asked another guy there what else needs to be done. He said they would take care of it. "But what about the paperwork?" I ask. He apologized when he realized it wasn't a pre-labeled package. I explained that I had tried unsuccessfully to print the mailing label. He asked me to forward the email to their store. I did. He printed it out from their computer and started to tape it onto the box. Then the first guy shouts out to me "Do you have a dollar?" By this point, there was a long line of customers. I was confused. He said it was a dollar to print the label. He then added "This is for your convenience." I quietly muttered "It would have been convenient to know there was a charge before you did that." He asked me to repeat myself. So I did, just a little louder. He proceeded to process a $1 charge on my credit card. I explained that I would be mentioning this in my Yelp review. He seemed to not care, as though he was used to negative reviews. And thus I am writing this...for their convenience. ;-) read more
